My girlfriend and I went in after a show at the Nile around 10pm. Counter service was pleasant, clean and casual presentation, the menu looked good (a bit steep however, $20+ for a double cheeseburger combo). Found out the place is owned by a local chef who's been nominated for a James Beard award on multiple occasions, so we were pretty excited. Food arrives a little quick, thats alright. BUT.. the fries were really cold. No exaggeration, absolutely dead upon arrival. Took one bite, they are cold AND stale. I take them up to the counter and let the lady know, she obliges. The cooks crack a joke across the counter about how they dont do hot fries. We dig into the burgers, and they're fine. A little dry, and needed some salt but I'm not mad about it. Price didn't really reflect the quality. However, the fries come back--they didn't even bother to make a fresh batch. They clearly just refried the stale fries. They came back to the table hot, but extremely dry. The texture was like eating stale cereal. These are easily the worst fries I've had from a burger place in memory. Extremely disappointing experience given the price point and hype. I am a big believer in the PHX food scene and its roster of Chefs, and was excited to find out that this placed was dreamt up by the face of Espiritu and Chiwas. Given that, I am reluctant to pay a premium for food of average quality. That being said, maybe the fries just suck, maybe it was the time we went in? Not sure. When I heard that the owners of Espiritu were opening up a burger shop, I knew we had to try it. My wife and I arrived for the soft launch, the grand opening and a few times after that. My go to is the Chiwas burger and my wife is a fan of the classic. You cannot go wrong with any of the burgers on the menu. Their burgers are very tasty and have distinct flavors from one another. They offer bottle sodas and have fountain drinks as well. I'm a big french fry guy, and if I have one complaint, it's that they only offer one size. Maybe they'll read this review and offer a larger size for the big boned customers, like me. Every time we've gone in to order, the lines are pretty long, but do not let it fool you. Everyone there seemed to like working there . Order was taken right away and Food came out quickly. The double burger was messy but tasted great. I had it Sonoran style. The bacon on this burger is very unique They offer spicy mayo for 50¢ and it is definitely not worth it. Not only was it not spicy it just tasted like rancid ketchup. Now having a great burger can be ruined by one thing, not great fries. The French fries were definitely not up to par. Not only were they not piping hot but most of them were little pieces less than an inch. The bad spicy ketchup may have made it even worse. We drove past this burger joint a few months ago and were passing buy and decide to give them a try. There was nooooo one in there when we went in.m, but we have drove by when it's packed. I'll start by saying $19 for a double combo is a reach. We ordered 1 Sonora (they said it's the most popular) and the original. yall it's not worth it. The hamburger was buttery, it was soft and had a melting texture. Aside from that there wasn't much flavor. The fries were decent, but once they got cold it they were hard. Honestly in n out is better especially for the price. ‍ With there not being busy at all every table has crumbs and food on them. I had to clean our own table before we sat down. What a fun spot in the heart of Downtown Mesa!! There is a small menu of just three different burgers, but they are amazing!! I got the Sonoran Burger and Cheese Fries and both were phenomenal! The cheese fries had this awesome cheese sauce, bacon, and roasted green chiles and the Sonoran burger had these spicy little chilis on it with a crispy square of bacon. I don't know how they got it in that shape, but I am a BIG FAN. There's also a cute little patio you can sit on and watch people as they walk by on Main. The place was packed but the food only took about 10 minutes to be ready. I like how it's an open kitchen too so you can see the chefs making your food in front of you. No alcohol there which was a little sad for me, but we were able to walk across the street to Pedal Haus after and grab a tasty brew after we ate. I've waited a bit since the opening week to try Main Burger. The place was busy and there was a little bit of a wait for food. The staff was great though and handled the crowd well. The remodel looks great and love having patio seating for people watching. The vibe is very lively, especially on the weekend. I was in the mood for a Sonoran dog so I got the hot dog combo. So, I had the single Patty Sonora style burger. The burger itself had no real flavor not season at all. The onion bacon and sauce was the only flavor. I didn't know they cooked the cheese on the griddle not a fan of that because honestly it's just burnt cheese I know it's a fad doing the "cheese skirt" but in my opinion it's not good if you like it fine but I do not. Amazing burgers and the service was A+. The vibe is converted subway restaurant turned into burger joint, Nothing fancy. It is very expensive for what it is though. I've never really been a fan of any "smash burger" I think the patties are thin & I feel like a double smash burger is equal to a regular normal burger. But besides the point for a double burger and a regular classic burger and drinks I was out the door for a little over $45. It was a very good burger and I highly recommend trying it. There Mexican twist on the burgers are something I've never had before, I just don't know if I'll be back or if it was totally worth the price value wise I was still hungry after eating the double burger. Armando, Nadia & Roberto have done it again- if you've ever dined at their other downtown Mesa restaurant (Espiritu), then you'd know that they can craft an amazing burger. I was eager for Main Burger to open & they definitely didn't disappoint. Although the menu is limited in offerings, the flavors more than make up for it. You can't go wrong with any of the options- Chiwas and Sonoran both offer some heat and the Classic is great, if a traditional burger is more your jam. Price point is fair, considering the quality of food that you're getting. During peak times, there can be a line but it moves swiftly- there is seating indoors and on the patio & service has always been great! This spot is definitely here to stay! read more

We went today and they had only been open since Tuesday ... so four days. Good foot traffic even before they had a grand opening. Had a single combo and of you are hungry, you will need the double burger. Fries were perfect .its super clean and friendly. Parking is really good. The only thing I did not like was the buttered bun (on top). It looks good, but every bite, your hands are buttery and slippery. We shared a double classic burger meal and tried the hotdog. The hotdog had good flavor, but it was a little too much for me personally with regards to the toppings. Very greasy, but what else would you expect with a bacon wrapped hotdog. The patty itself had a good flavor, although some bites were saltier than others. The issue was the amount of cheese in the burger (2 slices). Unless you really like cheddar cheese, it overpowered the overall burger. Hello everyone I usually don't start a review like this but this place was Amazing, my wife loves her TicTock and Instagram and the other night she saw this Main Burger shop in Downtown Mesa Az. And shared it with me so of course I was all in to give it a try, we pulled it up and saw it was closed but decided to still go by and glad we did, it was Hopping so we went in and ordered the Chiwas Burger with fries and drink and dug in, Wow what a great tasting burger ( menu pictured will show ingredients ) the fries were great as well, I told Jen I should have ordered two burgers instead of sharing one lol. I talked to the manager to let him know that the website said the business was closed to our surprise we came on there soft opening day lucky us right, anyways you'll Definitely got to stop by and give them a try and sure you'll be a returning customer as it's down as one of my to go places now for a good Burger. Their food tastes great and the place has an awesome aesthetic and look that I don't see much in the Valley. Not sure what the deal is, but the various times I've been here, their staff have always made the place feel unwelcoming though. Even when there's few or a handful of guests eating in here already. I guess the place is small, but it just seems like their crew has some drama going on back there or something. It's weird. I'll usually just eat on their nice patio area or take it to go. I heard about Main burger on tic tok. It was 2:30 and they had people in the place. It is a very clean looking restaurant, but small inside. They have just as many or more seating on the patio. Which sit right on main. I ordered a classic single burger and fries. The burger was rather small, fresh bun, carmalized onions and regular lettuce. Ordered the Hot Dog, Chiwas, and Sonora burgers to split between two. Hot Dog -- Honestly it was a gloppy mess. There was no discernable flavor between the hot dog, bacon, and toppings. The biggest thing that happened was that I went through 5 paper towel pieces because ingredients were pouring all over the place...and that was only half because I split the other half. Compared to every other Sonora style hot dog I've ever had this was a huge miss by miles. Burgers -- I'll write about them together because I couldn't distinguish one from the other in terms of taste. Both were pretty unremarkable. The biggest issue was that there was no seasoning whatsoever on the burgers. Frankly, the burgers only added texture, but not taste. If you look at their menu you'll see a long list of ingredients on the burgers, but none of them came through with the lone possibility of the green chili on the Chiwas burger. Fries -- They were fine, but that's not a very high bar to clear. So the above came to $52. Was it worth $52? A resounding no it was not. I'm not sure it is worth half that price. Overall, it was a big meh. Most definitely could have been much better and far less expensive. I think this establishment may be riding on the name of the owners. That's not a bad thing, but if you're going to do it then you need to bring the goods. read more

We've been wanting to visit this place since it first opened, and it did not disappoint! My husband, toddler, and myself got there around 5ish. The place had quite a few patrons but there were seats available. We were greeted as we came in and ordered 2 double combos (one Sonora and one Chiwas style.) They were cooked to perfection! I would drive out here any day for any one of these. The flavors were distinct from another, but we couldn't tell which one was the winner. As for my fries, well, my son determined those were exclusively for him, but I got to sneak a few once I shared some of my burger with him. He was one happy camper along with his mommy and daddy.
