However, this time I had something I hadn't tried before, which was the portobello torta, check the pic posted here, but I warn you, if a pic says 1k words, then a taste says a bagillion words (is that even English ?). But that's what happens when umami meets Mexican bliss. When your order is taken with pleasure and prepared before your eyes at this bustling establishment, it's flair mixed with fair. We were surprised by how much we enjoyed it. Their two self-serve complementary salsas were also fun and creamy. Concha- Delicious and we liked the top of it. Maybe one of our favorite conchas. Elote hot cake - Came out really hot and was delicious. These are only available on weekends. I was tempted to get more but we had lots more food targets on the schedule. Torta with Asada was pretty good too. But the other items excited me more I think. The person at the front also gave us some samples of other taco fillings to try: the fillings of the La Ranchera: Potatoes and pico de gallo in salsa ranchera and also grilled nopales. My husband who is usually not as crazy as me about nopales liked them here. They have mole on the weekends but it's not housemade from scratch. They use premade mole and add some more things to it so we skipped that one. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out! Which was five dollars, and a refill will come at the cost of $1.08. There's a lot of meat in these tacos, while I got three, I only made my way through two sadly because I wanted to finish them all. The salsa you'll get at your table are two different types of green and a red one. The red one is hotter, but the green still has hints of heat. Both are delicious, but I could only manage to slather the green one on my food. At the end of your meal, you'll go up and pay at the counter by telling them how many tacos you had and that's it. There's tons of parking available, while the lights on the side may look busy they actually own the building next-door and all the parking in the back is available to utilize. We were already at the hotel at this point and was infuriated!!! We ended up calling and I believe I spoke to Julio (or whoever the cook is) over the phone. After lying saying that he cooked the meat fresh that day he stuttered I told him aint no way the meat was fresh. He then said and I quote " I cooked the meat "a couple days ago" then said "sorry I burnt it or overcooked it". (Knowing that why would you serve that to me?) I then stated "yes it tasted old period". I requested a refund in which he agreed to. Driving all the way back I brought the food back as well. Julio (or whoever the cooks name is) tried to plead his case to me saying that the meat is fresh and took a fork and tasted the food himself and then tried to offer me the food. I told him "no I don't want to taste it, just refund me please" in which he did. Dishonesty, Not handling food with care, lying. Is something that crosses the line and I won't be back. *Also if the owner is reading this I have the phone conversation recorded and the video evidence to show proof this whole interaction, so do not just glaze over this review* I don't like writing bad reviews, but this one is for sure warranted. Seems like they will dress up the taco and selling you some "old meat" people just be careful and mindful when coming to this taco truck. "The Earths Best Taco" they say... that's a stretch!

We recently visited Mambo Seafood and, unfortunately, left pretty disappointed. We ordered the salmon with fried rice, along with Vuelve a la vida soup, and a mangonifica and michelada. The salmon was the biggest letdown. It had no flavor at all, it honestly seemed like it was just baked with no seasoning and placed on the plate. The fried rice, which is supposed to be a standout item, was underwhelming and definitely overhyped. The only thing we actually enjoyed was the Vuelve a la vida soup, that was flavorful and comforting. To make things worse, I had 2 gift cards from Mambo Seafood, but we weren't able to use the full amount (which would have covered our meals +drinks) Our server didn't explain anything, and we were surprised when we were told we still had to pay out of pocket, even though we hadn't gone over the gift card amount. A partial balance was left on the card and handed back to us with no clear explanation. Honestly, that left a bad taste in my mouth. It felt like poor customer service, especially since the gift card was the main reason we chose to dine there. Overall, the food was forgettable and the experience just didn't live up to the hype. I recently visited Mambo Seafood, and it was an excellent dining experience from start to finish. I ordered the fried whole red snapper with fried rice, and it was delicious! The fish was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and it paired wonderfully with the flavorful fried rice. My husband tried the grilled octopus with fried rice and fries, and he also enjoyed it--tender and well-seasoned, with the perfect balance of flavors. What stood out was the service. It was top-notch. The staff was attentive and friendly, and to make the experience even better, the manager personally visited each table to interact with customers.
