After spending a full day at the Grand Prix with access to very few vegan options I was desperately looking for a delicious vegan restaurant to visit for dinner. I stumbled upon Mangiafoglie and I'm so happy I did. I got there early around 6pm and they were able to seat me quickly. However, as I sat there I noticed the line of people waiting for a table grow exponentially so time your visit accordingly. The food is all plant based and italian! I ordered the cuoppo and the lasagna! Both were incredibly delicious. I was very impressed by the authenticity of the ingredients AND the wines I heard that they work with a sommelier to select wines that pair with their dishes. WOW! I really liked their 2 reds both very different in flavors, I could tell they were selected with intention behind it. I also had the dessert! It was an olive cake with a compote and ice cream. The ice cream!!!! Oh my god it was some of the best ice cream I ever had, I learned that evening they make it themselves! I had such a great experience I came back again the next day since I was there for the Grand Prix again. This time I arrived at 6ish and it was packed! Second time around I ordered the crema di tartufo pizza, their tricolore salad & parmigiana de melanzane. I would order the pizza and the salad again, I don't like salads when I dine out but I was so impressed with this one. The Ceasar looks incredible even though I never had it. I wasn't super impressed with the eggplant melanzane, it tasted good but it wasn't super memorable in comparison to other dishes. I will continue to come back and work my way through the menu. The service is great but they are insanely busy. If you're in a rush or don't like to wait, I wouldn't recommend it. My only criticism that's more on the negative side is that they sell OUT of dishes! It was 6:42 when I was entering my order and they had already ran out of the cuoppo, one of the pizzas and other things. I was shocked so I definitely recommend coming early until they find a way to prep their ingredients/food for all the customers they're getting read more

I was so stoked to see that this place finally opened! I've been so excited to try out their coffee & food, and I was not disappointed. I tried the lemon cream latte and my goodness was it delicious; definitely coming back for more. The interior design is so bright and lively, I can see myself just spending all morning here. It was a Friday evening early and they no longer had several dishes on the menu available. The staff seemed overwhelmed and the food was not as impressive as our first visit. So many vegan restaurants have closed recently so this is a wonderful addition to our community and much appreciated by the vegans (and non-vegans, I've taken them here!). Seriously though, my non-vegan friends often ask me.. "when are we going to that vegan Italian spot again?". They have it all- apps (get the meatballs!), salads (Caesar is TO DIE FOR), pizza, pasta, dessert, and oooh the wine selection! One thing to note, I've noticed the menu is a little different every time I come in (particularly the pasta dishes always seem to be changing) but I like that they keep it interesting and they're still new so they're just seeing what does best on the menu. An honorable mention to the wait staff who are so friendly, it feels like home when you walk in. My server was saying bye to a few regulars as I walked in and she knew them by name, which I love because it shows they really care about getting to know their guests. My server (wish I got her name!) was awesome and offered me several samples of wine to help me make the right choice, made great menu suggestions, and was generally so lovely to make small talk with after a long work week. As a solo diner I find that I am often rushed through the meal at most restaurants, but not here. I sat at the bar and it was nice to watch the chefs make everything right in front of you. My husband and I visited Mangiafogli Restaurant on 4th Street in Long Beach today. Before, we approached the entrance, I could smell the delicious food. Jamil provided excellent service; he was truly outstanding and on top of his game. The restaurant was quite busy--two couples who arrived later had to be seated at the bar. We ordered the Cuoppo appetizer, the Amante Della Carne pizza, and the Strozzapreti pasta. For dessert we tried the strawberry cake, cinnamon roll, and olive oil cake (some for coffee during the week.) My favorites were the strawberry cake and the Olive Oil Cake. My husband who lived in Rome for seven years and knows what "good Italian mama food" is, really loved the food, especially the pasta and the pizza!! The last time we visited Italy, was in 2016, I can honestly say that Mangiafogli stands toe-to-toe with Rome's best Italian restaurants! While not a vegans, we do enjoy good vegan cuisine. My go-to restaurant for vegan food, Pura Vita in Redondo Beach, has closed, so this Delizzioso Vegan Restaurant is just what we needed! Loved it. Date night with daughter and waitress was great gave us our drinks in wine glasses per my daughter's request. Food even better absolutely loved the meatballs, so moist, hard to believe they were vegan - and the pasta with the sausage and rabe was great, nice and spicy. Amazing experience! Got there at 5:45pm and waited in line for 10 minutes. The servers were great, helped us pair wine with the food we ordered. We got the Lambrusco and it was so so good!! We went to Mangiafoglie for dinner last week and had a delightful experience. We were immediately greeted by Daniel, one of the owners, who sat us right away. This new establishment is cute and tasteful; everything from the plates, silverware, and even the placemats seemed to have been chosen with care. We had the Tricolore salad to start. It was light and delicious, the dressing paired perfectly without being overpowering. We also had the Agnolotti pasta and the Strozzapreti. The Strozzapreti was my favorite. Small flavorful pieces of sausage and a hint of heat from the chilies. Shot out to our fabulous server, Erin, who was great at explaining everything and Chef Paul, who we got to see in action while sitting at the bar. They did just get their liquor license so we also enjoyed some wine with dinner. I visited this place a few weeks ago, I went in about 20 minutes before closing which I normally don't do but I really wanted to try this place and was in the area. The waiter and the rest of the staff were super great and still gave me enough time to go over the menu before ordering, they even took the time to answer questions and offer their recommendations. The food came out quickly and I was still offered desert. Not once did I feel rushed to finish, the food itself was excellent. Went here a few weeks ago with our family of 5 and a baby. The staff were helpful to accommodate our family size indoors when it was chilly outside. The food was delicious!! We tried most of the pizza options and the lasagna. Loved all of them. The dough will have me going back to here for sure. Our host was knowledgeable about the wine and provided insight on the making of it. That was fun. Overall, upscale & classy atmosphere, friendly staff, great variety of food options, plenty of parking around. A party size larger than ours may be difficult to accommodate indoors so keep that in mind. I am looking forward to their breakfast menu that they are creating. Absolutely fantastic first experience at MangiaFoglie. The place was packed, but we only waited about 15 minutes on a Saturday night for a table to open up. The service was impeccable, with friendly staff who shared interesting information about the ways the food is prepared and all of the time and technique that goes into each detail. Expediting was great, with food coming out surprisingly quickly and timed well so we weren't waiting between courses. And the FOOD! The food was absolutely fantastic. We tried an appetizer, two salads, two entrees and a dessert between us, and ate EVERY bite. The portion sizes were perfect to share and try different things without being heavy or overwhelming, and everything was fresh and flavorful. We left already talking about which dishes we want to try next time, and look forward to this being a part of our regular rotation. This is the best plant based Italian restaurant in Southern California. The staff are incredible. Ultra friendly and accommodating vibes. And then there's the food. The traditional appetizer options set the pace being unrivaled in the Italian plant based arena. We started with the polpette (meatballs that are braised for 3 hours), the Eggplant Parmesan, and the olives. Each starter was a dish to celebrate. We had the Caesar salad which featured grilled romaine and fried capers that culminate in a texture and taste party in your mouth. The Agnolotti and Strozzapreti unique pasta recipes hit your palette with a flavor explosion that's fresh, savory and rich all at the same time- Highly recommended. Oh man did I want this place to hit, but it just didn't. First off the staff were awesome. Very friendly, inviting and courteous. The place was small and intimate which was cool. But the food didn't wow us. For starters we had the Polpette (Meatball $21) and the Parmigiana Di Melanzane (Eggplant $15). Greet presentation and looked amazing. However the eggplant dish came out a little cold and we learned that the Meatball was made using Impossible meat. Kind of through us off since 1) we aren't fans of Impossible 2) a nice restaurant of this caliber charging $21 should make the whole thing in house. Dunno For mains Spaghettini (Lemon pasta $23) and the Mushroom/ Truffle Pizza. The pasta was a little dry but I was expecting a very creamy pasta as that's the way I've always had it before and the pizza was good (dough was excellent) just didn't really taste any truffles. The red wines were delicious but overall just an OK experience, not amazing as far as the food goes. But will come back for some coffee and dessert. read more
