They don't just have amazing food and drinks, but the most amazing service and respect for their customers. Every time I have came in I have either dined with Jennah or Julia, two sisters at the Scottsdale location. They have always taken care of me and always treated me with the highest of respect. They definitely make the experience more enjoyable! When it comes to food I love their wagyu selection and their seafood tower! So I booked a private room at this restaurant for a party of 16 people. Very cool spot. Great ambiance and they personalize the menu for your birthday. First of all it was a bit of a tough go, just getting the reservation. We booked the private room well in advance, but about two weeks out, they called and told us, another group had bumped our reservation to the main floor and they tried very hard to sell us on how amazing the main floor would be. We had to get management involved but out private room reservation was saved. The night of went pretty smooth. We had amazing food. a must try would be the seafood tower, the best I have had at a high end restaurant. The wine was good and champagne flowed-also must do the caviar bump! The service left so much so be desired. At a place like this, half of what that high price ticket is paying for, is the service you receive. Our group was lively and instead playing to that vibe, our waiter took every opportunity to get everyone to be quiet and listen to him-teacher style. He was dry and out of touch. We specifically told him we were not interested in the chef-choice special style of dinner as we had many dietary restrictions at the table. He still proceeded to have everyone be quiet so he could tell us all about the chef's choice style dinner. He messed up the group caviar bump so badly and when we asked him to snap some pics of the group, it seemed like it was beneath him. I'm sorry sir, our bill was close to 5k. He made a really great tip off our group and it was not well deserved. He kept telling members of the group to stop going to the big bar to get drinks but obviously they only went because the drinks were coming too slowly to the table. Just really disappointed. The service is half of the experience at a place like this so they should probably do better on who takes care of the big groups-not all servers are cut out for that. read more

I'll start off by stating, my boyfriend and I ate here for my birthday dinner in 2021 and my experience was really great. We went yesterday for my birthday dinner thinking my experience would be similar and I was left feeling really down. Before the hostess went to have us seated, she said I would need to wear a shawl to cover my bottom area because my dress showed my butt. My dress was a formal long, black lace gown that was lined with a black bodysuit lining that has straps and covered my bottom area. The dress had a high neckline and long sleeves. I was really taken aback and this made me feel very embarrassed. We've eaten at several fine dining establishments and I've never had this experience. I honestly did not want to continue with our reservation, but did not want to ruin the evening for my boyfriend either. I wore the shawl without making any comments or a scene. We were seated at the back of the restaurant near where servers place orders. I honestly felt so bad, I had tears in my eyes while we waited for our server. Our server was okay. I noticed he was more welcoming and chatty with the guests beside us celebrating an anniversary who arrived several minutes after we received our drinks. Because of the unwelcome feeling, I did not order appetizers or dessert for the evening. Towards the end of our meal, a blonde woman came to ask if I wanted to order dessert and I politely declined which is why I assume I did not get even get a small birthday treat of some sort as I did last time we came. In 2021, I have a photo of me with desert and a candle. The food was fine, nothing extraordinary but the overall experience from checking in and during dining really put a damper on my birthday dinner. We will definitely not be coming back to this restaurant again. Suggestion: If you're going to do this to patrons, ensure a manager is sent to the table to at least check on the individual and ask what can they do to ensure their experience is great. What an outstanding experience. The staff was super accommodating and really friendly. Some of the best service we have had. An upscale ambiance. Loved all the vibes here. It was my wife's birthday and I wanted to do something memorable for her. We had the most wonderful meal here. It is something we will remember for a long time. Shortly after being seated, she was greeted with a custom take-home menu that said Happy F*@king Birthday. We then started off with a house drink (complimentary) which was a prickly pear cocktail, which was amazing. I then proceeded to order the I Don't Give a F*@k (let us take care of you) option at $200 per person. Indulgence at its finest. We shared some bread and butter waiting for the first course to arrive. The first course entailed a house-made french onion dip with house-made chips that had sprinkles of caviar on top. The second course was caviar-topped oysters with a shot of vodka. Delish!! Next was the fire-roasted seafood tower. All I can say is WOW. The smoke flavor was really nice on the king crab legs. I have never tasted anything like it. Once the seafood was gone, they brought out the pasta to soak up the butter sauce. Next came the Maple and Ash wedge salad. Definitely, one of the Best wedge salads I have had. Also included was the yellowfin tuna tartare to share. #mindblown Once that was done, the main course and sides were brought to the table. Dry aged rib eye served with Maple and Ash beefed up butter sauce. Grilled Branzino, whipped and buttered mashed potatoes, fire-roasted asparagus, and last but not least little "pillows of love" aka Ricotta Agnolotti. There are no words to describe how amazing the pillows of love are. All I can say is, I can imagine that is what food in Heaven would taste like. #pillowsoflove I feel like I enjoyed that more than the ribeye and I love a good ribeye steak. For me, the rib eye was cool, but I have had better elsewhere, no disrespect to Maple and Ash. If I was going to eat here again, steak is not something I would necessarily order specifically. Lastly, we ended dinner with the build your own sundae bar. You get 3 scoops of homemade chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry ice cream with various toppings, ranging from raspberries, blackberries, cookie crumbles, chocolate or peanut butter sauce, toffee brittle, white chocolate shavings, or whipped cream to name a few. Absolutely the perfect way to end a meal. We did have leftovers to take home and honestly, they were just as good as we remembered from the night before. We captured a few pics, but we weren't able to capture the whole experience. That is something that will have to live on in our heads. Reading other reviews, a lot of people had mentioned it was loud. Luckily I and my wife did not experience that. Our dinner experience was quieter and more intimate. Incredible restaurant. If people don't back the food they have no idea what good quality food is. I've lived all around Europe and the U.S. and, for steakhouses, this is the BEST. In fact, no better restaurant in Phoenix that's for sure and we have tried soooooo many since moving from Los Angeles. First time I come to M&A it was my birthday a year ago. I've wanted to come back to test if that experience was truly as memorable and when I had my friend from South Florida and a couple of his friends ask where we should go to dine together, I contacted M&A. To be honest, they had nothing except the proverbial "5:30 or 9pm" time slots, which we all know is a kinder way of saying we have nothing. Not knowing who my friend from Florida is, we just said screw it and took an early time slot. By the end of the dinner, the ENTIRE table was stating this was one of the best restaurants they'd EVER been to, and they too are extremely sophisticated and well traveled. The TRUE highlight is the uber expensive crab claws which were (and are) somehow baked and served warm. Might be one of the greatest things I've ever tasted and if they weren't so expensive I'd get them to go again for dinner. Other highlights were my friends top tier Wagyu, the sea bass, and my ribeye. They did remove some of the items from the table before we were done so that was a bummer but I think they wanted us up for the next seating since we were just enjoying the dinner and drinks. Whole bill was easily over $1K but we kindly payed it based on the dinner and service. Sara was our server, super nice and pretty, but also very engaging and knowledgable. We made reservations for the Tower Hour and wow, it did not disappoint! This is one of the few venues in Scottsdale that doesn't blast their music (whew) so you could actually have a nice conversation with your party. The decor is GORGEOUS and luscious. Definitely a great spot to impress someone. The moment we were seated, we were provided a mini cocktail to start, what a nice touch. The Seafood Tower (mini) was delicious. The $2 oysters were out of this world fresh, maybe the best we've had in this area so far. Everything was so good, we stayed for main courses and dessert as well. For main, I got a delicious goat cheese salad while my partner got the pillows of love pasta dish - wow. They burst in your mouth and are SO GOOD. We wanted to have a nice takeout meal for Mother's Day and Maple and Ash's brunch meal looked incredible! During our stay at home order, I cooked most the time and I was excited to take a break!! Thanks husby!! We pulled up for curbside pickup at our designated pickup time and they were right there ready with the nicely packaged meals. In general, hot takeout just isn't as good vs eating it freshly cooked in the restaurant. However, the meats, potatoes and frittata was perfect for reheating in the oven. However the floor was super slippery and my friend fell really hard, so if you're wearing heels be careful. The service was ok, the server checked on us about 3times, but when told that we did not receive certain food we did not see her again. Maple and Ash was on my restaurant bucket list for a while now. With expectations that high, I was worried things might fall flat, but was I wrong! Everything from the decor, the service, the food and drinks were outstanding. Our table ordered the NY strip (my friend said it was better than the steak he ordered at Bouchon in Vegas), steak and frites, ricotta agnolotti , mac and cheese, asparagus and au gratin potatoes. The steak and frites was melt in your mouth tender and the fries were perfectly cooked, crisp and soft at the same time. The ricotta agnolotti melted in your mouth and was just exquisite. The mac and cheese was rich and flavorful with the perfect cheese pull. I didn't think asparagus could shine on it's own like it did, but with the flavors and textures put in to this dish, it was a star side for sure. The au gratin potatoes were also very good. The cocktails we ordered were: Lady in Black (smoky Mezcal), Wasted Time (complex and layered in flavors), Attitude Adjustment (nicely balanced) and the old fashioned (classic and spot on). Well, my favorite restaurant has now become a business I can't support anymore. Maple and ash ruined my proposal. The proposal my fiancé hired a photographer for, rented a venue, and put months of time into was ruined 3 months before it happened by a Maple & Ash hostess. The moment I've always dreamt of, I knew about 3 months before it happened. I was already at the restaurant and wanted to confirm the upcoming reservation I had to "celebrate my best friends birthday". She had made the reservation via Amex concierge which in my experience can be flakey. I walked up to the hostess to confirm the reservation went through and that they had a menu made for my best friend (she made the reservation and we were supposed to be celebrating her birthday). The hostess blurts out "I have a menu for this reservation but it doesn't say happy birthday Paige, it says "you're getting married". My heart immediately dropped and I walked out crying. Everybody coming to this reservation was married besides me and my now fiancé. Okay so this is a screw up right? We're all human, she shouldn't have said that. But after a month of crying and deciding not to tell anybody what I had heard, I decided to call the restaurant, this was in May. My proposal was at the end of June. I was put in contact with a super sweet manager who gave me all her contact info and was going to call me a week after the proposal to set something up for my fiancé and I to come in. So my proposal comes, we go to the restaurant after to celebrate. All is well. Two weeks go by, I don't hear anything from the manager. So I begin trying to call and text the direct number she gave me. It doesn't work. I'm thinking, am I getting stood up right now? Turns out, this manager doesn't work for Maple anymore. Life gets busy, I forget about to for two months. But I'm a frequent maple and ash goer. So I call to make a reservation in September, explain the situation, I am told that a manager will get in contact with me to resolve this. Again nobody calls me. This happens again in November, and then February. I'm constantly told someone will get a hold of me. I've talked to 2 managers intermittently but they fail to get back to me and resolve anything. I've been to the restaurant 5 times since my proposal and nothing has ever been taken care of. Now it's almost been a year, I was supposed to come in with a massive party this Sunday to celebrate my wedding. I called Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday to request to speak to a manager. I've been told 3 days in a row that someone will call me back. NEVER HAPPENS. Like I'm bringing 10 people in on Sunday and nobody can even return my call. We're now cancelling this reservation. I'm sad to say that my favorite restaurant doesn't care about frequent customers enough to resolve an issue so big. This was a big life moment for me and all I wanted was for them to comp a meal for my fiancé and I. I shouldn't have to beg for a resolution or a response to this problem. There was 0 empathy or compassion that my huge proposal was ruined. I didn't tell my fiancé for months because I felt so bad that this 6 month project he had done was actually never a surprise. Photographer, venue, flew out my best friend, organized a fake photoshoot so I'd be all dressed up. He knows now. It's just all so sad. How can people not care that much? I've brought so many huge parties to this restaurant repetitively but they don't care about my ruined proposal? I won't be going into maple anymore or recommending everyone as I know. I used to tell people maple is my favorite restaurant ever and they need to go. Not anymore. I'm sad that poor management had to ruin my favorite restaurant. read more

All of the food was delicious and it was a nice experience but I was very disappointed to see the dress code was not being enforced and it was definitely busy enough that it could've been. Lots of men in tshirts and shorts. We got 3 sides and we split them between 5/6 girls. My fried got the pork milanese and it was huge & it came with some lettuce pieces. It was good. Also my filet was amazing! The Mac and cheese was delicious! We also got complementary bread, butter, salami, radishes and olives. They give you a free small mousse cake. It was good. Our table was close to the kitchen so we saw them working and everything smelled amazing! Because we were close to the kitchen there is one door way that people come in and out from. Also it's kinda tight the seats and servers walking thru. They kept knocking down my cane. We needed split checks and she was able to do it. I stopped in with no reservation while visiting family in the Scottsdale area. The staff was very accommodating. At the very moment I was seated at the table the server greeted me with a welcome cocktail. Very nice touch! For the meal I selected the bone in Rib Eye paired with fire roasted asparagus, & the whipped buttered potatoes. The food was excellent! My server recommended an exceptional Cabernet to accompany the meal. She also went above & beyond by presenting me with a complimentary glass of a very nice South African wine that I had enquired about. The service & ambiance were impeccable! I had high hopes for this restaurant upon entering. The host that greeted us was very friendly and we were seated right away for our reservation. The interior is magnificent. Many rooms, all beautifully decorated. Great attention to detail with bold art and grand statements throughout the restaurant. Definitely 5 stars for decor. Then we were greeted by our server who was over the top, pushing too hard to sell us the Fire-Roasted Seafood Tower (which was, according to him, like no other anywhere due to the chilling process or lack thereof) and boasting about their 2 Star Michelin Chef. His presentation at the beginning of our meal was a complete turn off; there is a way to express your greatness without braggadocio. Unfortunately, his first impression set the tone for the evening and he remained pushy and rushed . . . not listening to our questions and seemingly distracted the entire evening. We ordered a few appetizers and soon after ordered our meal. Two of the four of us wanted the "I DON'T GIVE A F*@K" menu option which said "Let us take care of you - $195 per person" but it turned out the whole table had to order that option in order to allow them to choose all of our food so we switched to individual meals. Three of us ordered steak and the server came in hot once again, pushing the "Beefed Up Butter Arm Candy" (an additional $12) to add to our $60 steaks. At every turn, I felt like the server was trying to upsell us, which is not at all what I expect from what presented itself as an upscale restaurant when I sat down. The food was good but not spectacular. Frankly, we expected more based on the pricing. All of the following were decent: Oysters on the Half Shell, Wild Blue Prawn Shrimp Cocktail, Filet Mignon, Chicago Classic Boneless Ribeye, Fire-Seared Branzino, Black Truffle Loaded Potato, Brussels Sprouts and Fire Roasted Asparagus. (The standout was the Black Truffle Loaded Potato.) The presentation of the steaks and fish was lackluster. We also ordered several signature cocktails: Admired from Afar, Maple & Ash Old Fashioned, Illicit Affair and an Espresso Martini. All were flavorful. Overall, I wanted to love this place. But between our server, who seemed to be in the game of sales, and the cost of the food, unmatched by its quality, this is not somewhere I yearn to return. read more

Made a reservation for two on a Friday evening. Parking was a little rough as it's a bit of a walk because you'll be using the underground parking garage when it's rather busy. I'd recommend bringing extra cash for valet parking. The atmosphere is masculine, flirty and deep. This place has to be one of the best dining experiences I have ever shared with my friends. Although I'm pretty sure we didn't meet the dress code requirements we were still treated with great customer service and those who served us were great and personable! I've been wanting to try the seafood tower and we got the Baller. I think it was great I although i thought it would be more food. The 2 tomahawk steaks we ordered were quickly devoured. They were flavorful, juicy, and tender. Although for the Brussels sprouts containing nuts, be cautious. Oysters tasted clean and fresh, definitely worth it when it comes to those. I will say the Mac and cheese is super rich and delicious. I really enjoyed the complimentary drinks as they actually made me want to order some.
