I read some decent reviews on Marco Polo's so my girlfriend and I decided to go and give it a try. Well, first I'd like to say that the atmosphere is all wrong. It seems as if the restaurant was an afterthought of the hotel and rather renovate they just added some tables to a leg of the hotel. The Atmosphere was very disappointing. The menu is presented on digital readers that are outdated and don't fit with the feeling they are trying to create. Maybe if it were a more modern reader it would be better. OK OK on to the food... We started off with the kung pao calamari. We at first thought it might be fried but it was not, just regular calamari but the flavor of the sauce was fantastic. Outstanding actually, if it were over a bed of rice it would be a perfect entree. For our entree's my girlfriend got the shrimp stir fry which was very tasty. I decided on the Spicy thai skirt steak. It was very good, the flavors were good and the wasabi mashed potatoes were very interesting but very good. Now you might be asking why the three stars if the food was good. I enjoyed all the food. The appetizers were very good, however, I noticed the dumplings came out of a bag instead of made from scratch. Despite this, they were very tasty and were doctored up with homemade sauce. I was hopping for house made with the amount I paid for the dumplings. However, I got a free glass of wine with a check in, and you get to order with an ipad. The ipad menu was very cool. I think they were short staffed that day because the service was sluggish, but not slow, they were very attentive. I recommend thsi place but it is a tad overpriced. read more

Very horrible service! Stay away!! My best friend and I decided to try a new restaurant near the movie theater since we had time before a movie. Upon looking at restaurants near the area Marco Polo came up so we decided to check it out based on the online menu. Upon entering the facility we were not greeted and had to ask the manager of the hotel if the restaurant was open due to seeing a closed sign at the booth. finally after getting seated at a near-empty restaurant I noticed stains on the wall. after ordering spaghetti and chicken meatball plus chicken teriyaki wrap and we waited quite a while for our meals. the restaurant is set up so you can see the food placed on the counter and it took about 10 minutes for the waitress to hand us our food. keep in mind the only patrons was an older lady at the end of the bar. The food was a failed attempt at Asian Italian Fusion but I was able to keep down on entree. The waiter/waitress disappeared after having a long conversation with another unknown person. As we continue to wait before the meal to come out people were also eating in the back and neglected us. We could see someone in the kitchen sitting on the floor from where we were. Everybody Disappeared after serving us drinks. the one star was the amazing dessert. However we also waited so long for the bill to come that we almost missed the movie. Mind you we made reservations for 2:30 and left the restaurant at 4:18 p.m. the movie begins at 4:30 p.m. The only way I got the bill was a busboy to grab the waitress who had disappeared earlier. I made a reservation for 5:30 and showed up on time, when I walked in, no one assisted me or acknowledged my existence considering all of the bartenders could view me. In fact past the bar it looked as though it was deserted. I went down the steps to ask the concierge and he attempted to redirect me back to the restaurant and suggested I speak with someone upstairs, except there was no one upstairs! The most abissamal service I have ever received. We ended up leaving and drove to Market Bistro who accommodated us without a reservation and was a much better choice. read more

Went here for lunch on a Sunday. I have to say, it was very good. Our waiter Victor was helpful and professional. I was impressed with the amount of beer they had on tap. We started with the egg roll sampler. It was excellent. I then had the chicken asian wrap and my wife had the turkey avocado sandwich. Both were really good. Ate a few meals here while staying in hotel. The hotel itself is very nice. The rooms are comfortable, reasonably priced, spacious and well maintained. Now the restaurant, extremely overpriced and the wait staff spent more time with their heads buried in their phones than they did actually paying attention to the customers. The hostess was very busy but great. To start the meal, they bring out a complimentary bowl of edamame. I watched the chef dump it out of a bag of frozen soybeans, boil it for a few then drizzle some oil on it and some sea salt. Which was fine, thats how I make it at home. Pricing: A glass of iced tea -$3.50, a small side salad to add to ala carte dinner - $10. I would have loved to order a glass of wine but it was not with in my budget. My first meal: The eggroll sampler, a side salad, and a glass of tea . With tip that total was $42.00. The salad and tea were both very fresh and tasty. The egg roll sampler was very unusual. Nothing I would ever want to order again. I think certain foods do not belong inside an egg roll shell. They were far too greasy and chewy. The next meal: Side salad, glass of tea and a side order of linguini pesto (very small, no meat). That, with tip was $30.58. Again the salad and tea were very fresh and tasty, and linguini pasta was delicious. I had to call over a member of the wait staff to get a refill on my drink after waiting several minutes. Seemed very focused on the cellphone instead. If there were more choices nearby other than subway I would choose to go somewhere else first due to the pricing. read more

So very disappointed. My husband and I went to have dinner on Valentine's Day before going to a concert next door. We called days prior, made a reservation and SPECIFICALLY asked about any special menu. We were told just the regular menu. Perfect. We wanted some apps, a reasonable meal and to go to the show. We arrive only to be seated (in a "board room") and told there was only the price fix menu for the evening. 5 courses. AND NO PRICE ON THE MENU!!! Fast forward- it's almost $90 a person, food was buffet caliber at best and the service was terrible. There were 8 glasses on the table by time we were done because no one felt it was necessary to clear anything. Waited 15 minutes for water and longer than that for cold soup. Our check was astronomical for a very disappointing and sad meal. We spoke to a manager only to be told "oh sorry, we would have sat you at the bar". Really? No seats available at bar and we told hostess when we sat down that we asked about the menu and she said oh, yea, sorry, here ya go. Lots of sorry from them and too much money spent from us. I don't know if it was the wine, or what- but I had an amazing time! I purchased a $45. groupon allowing for a choice of any appetizer, any two entrees, and two glasses of wine. I don't know how large the restaurant is because we were seated in the front, facing the bar. We sat in this very nice table with a comfortable couch like sectional seat. Everything looked really nice and fancy. I read one reviewer who said it was there worst meal here, but this was definitely one of the best meals I've had out. How I am treated when I go somewhere is more important to me than anything else- and all the staff were super friendly! The waitress...the bartender - even though I didn't sit at the bar or order a drink (other than the wine)- he was very friendly. even the bus boy was friendly! I was really surprised. Instead of bread, they served hot soybeans lathered in a sea-salt garlic butter ! omg! I was licking the plate clean they were so good- even my brother liked them- and he hardly enjoys any type of food, other than pasta. For the appetizer, we ordered fried vegetable dumplings- they came drizzled with a sweet sauce, maybe apricot- I don't remember- these were also really delicious (brother approved, as well!) For the entree - my brother ordered pasta and marinara sauce (I told you so)- while I ordered the ahi tuna and mashed potato entree- yum! I enjoyed every bite. The only complaint I do have is that the service was very slow- I don't know how long it took for our appetizers to come out- we had been sitting there for over 40 minutes waiting. The entrees came out soon after. But everyone was so friendly, the food was out of this world, and I was having so much fun with my brother and our wine, so I didn't mind! I gave two stars just to be generous but honestly the food is bad.we stayed in the hotel (which was amazing)(went to the spa amazingg )and my bf ordered pizza and marco pollos is connected with the vienna hotel .well the pizza tasted like the school cafeteria food .I ordered chicken too and it was okay nothing spectacular (i feel like they just microwaved the chicken slapped some sauce on ) we had made reservations but we never looked at the reviews so when we did i didnt want to go anymore but we decided to give it a try and ordered room service instead.HONESTLY save your money and go elsewhere marco polos shouldn't be advertised with the vienna hotel .its an insult whoever the cheff is pleaseee go back to culinary school or hire a new one !!! read more

Dingy looking place. Pushy waiter who kept trying to convince me to change my salmon order to the tuna. He said the tuna was flavorful but like sushi pink inside. Don't come here. Without a doubt one of the worst meals I've ever had at a restaurant. Fortunately I was there using a groupon, $25 for $50 at dinner with a free bottle of wine, so it was wasn't as much of a waste of money as it would have been otherwise. Split 3 appetizers and a flatbread pizza with my girlfriend. $16 crab cakes which seemed to be made of imitation crabmeat and flavorless bread crumbs. They were mushy and seemed to be baked. That was the only dish that appeared to actually be made on site. The open air kitchen allowed us to see the "chefs" opening bags of frozen food that they heated up and served to us. $14 for the worst calamari I've ever had. Don't know why the other reviews were so positive but the kung pao calamari was awful. Chewy and very fishy in flavor. $9 chicken shumai was clearly frozen served with melted chunky Skippy peanut butter melted down. $15 flatbread pizza. Again dough was not made there. Sauce tasted and had consistency of a jarred sauce. All in all very disappointing. This meal could be made fresh at home with much better results. The place was empty @ 7 pm on a Friday. The layout and decor was terrible as well. Like I said. Don't come here. You too will feel the sting of ridiculously over priced reheated, frozen food. read more

This establishment is not even worth 1 star, but there was no zero star option. I took my family there for Mother's Day and was extremely disappointed with pretty much EVERYTHING. Coming from a family of foodies, this was disgraceful. We went there for their Mother's Day as we didn't make plans in advance and they were the only establishment that had a table open for six. That should have raised an immediate red flag, but I decided to be optimistic and give it a shot. The buffet was $40.00 a person and for what they advertised, it seemed like a good deal. Boy was I wrong! Everything that was out looked like it had been sitting out for hours. They went to claim they have all of these stations, if they call putting out sterno's without servers a station,then they are unclear about what stations are. All of the food was awful, ALL OF IT! The fish was dry, the eggs were cold, the pasta station was not a station at all. All it was were two sterno's with overcooked pasta with what tasted like sauce that came out of a jar. Then there was the so called Sushi Station. That was another joke. They had about 5 pieces of sushi , not 5 rolls, but 5 pieces. The sushi was dry and looked like it too had been sitting out for hours. If anyone ate that, they are sure to be sick tomorrow. The mac and cheese and chicken nuggets were...well, why would that be part of the menu anyway.? Even that was disappointing. How can you improperly cook chicken nuggets when all you have to do is deep-fry them. The french toast was as hard as a rock and do not get me started on the bacon. I can go on, but I think you all get the message. The worst part about all of this was the bill. They charged $40.00 per person and also charged us $10:00 for each Mimosa we ordered, which I thought would have been included in that inflated price, but I was wrong once again. Then they include a service charge of about $30.00 and tax on top of that. For 5 people the bill came out to $330.00 and none of us even ate. I left there feeling as hungry as I was when I got there. I would have been better off going to a fast food chain. I can honesty say that this was the worst experience I ever had at a restaurant. One last thing, while we are still eating they decide they are going to start cleaning up. Also, all of the staff members, including the manager, decided to help themselves to the buffet while there were still patrons in the restaurant. I thought that was completely unprofessional. After I paid the bill, I thought I was overcharged as $40.00 per person times 5 is only $200.00 dollars, not $360.00 . I went to inquire about the bill and the waitress said," the manager is not here, he is probably in his office". I stood there for 10 minutes waiting and then finally after another 5 minutes he decided to show up. That was when I realized they charged us for the drinks and included the gratuity which I had already included myself. This whole experience was just awful. I will NEVER frequent this establishment again. I will also warn all of my friends and family not to go there either. What a disgrace! read more

Okay so I have never eaten here, but my experience at the bar was enough to never want to. I have been here twice now, both for wedding after parties and both times were pretty bad to say the least. What I don't understand about this place is that they are trying to be high end, yet their bartenders have no idea how to make a vodka soda. The only reason this restaurant was at all tolerable is because the waitress was friendly, attentive and apologetic. We made a reservation for 5:15 pm on Mother's Day. When we arrived they were still cleaning up from the Mother's Day brunch. I was standing right next to the brunch buffet serving trays while we waited. If we wanted to sit at the bar and have a drink while we waited, that would have been impossible since they were using the bar counter top to stack up all the dirty glasses, cups and pitchers from brunch and they had moved the bar chairs elsewhere. We waited a little less than 10 minutes then were taken into what I can only describe as a run of the mill hotel conference room, which wasn't even clean. There was a hug bag of garbage or something sitting in there, a woman was walking around sweeping the floor, and tables were still being cleaned, not to mention the additional conference room tables stacked up against the wall. No nice ambience at all. I've attended my fair share of conferences at hotels, and have been in rooms nicer than this one, and this is supposed to be a restaurant! Anyway, to make a long story short, they ended up not having the soup my niece ordered, and after about an hour we started inquiring about our appetizers. A full hour and fifteen minutes after we were seated the waitress informed us there was a problem with the computer ticket or the paper ticket and the apps were never put in. She then went on to add that they didn't have the special of the day that my mother had ordered as an entree. We decided to call it quits right there. We were willing to suffer through no table cloths, polyester "linen" napkins, the dirty plate that had to go back, and no soup to try the food, but we were done at that point. So the waitress offered to comp our bill for four drinks and 2 apps. We asked to take the apps to go since it was now 6:45, and she gave them to us to go. We gave her $20 for being put in such a bad position and working at such a horrible place, and we left. We had dinner somewhere else and later discovered they screwed up the apps and they were mediocre at best. Never again. Horrible! read more

I recently visited family on Long Island. Marco polos breakfast buffet was highly recommended by a friend. They didn't disappoint us. For the price for all you can eat was perfect being at a four star hotel. The service was extremely friendly and on point. My omelette was delicious!!!! I really wish I had nicer things to say since we were staying at this hotel for our anniversary and decided to try the restaurant within. Our table was set with 1 fork 1 knife and we were never offered new forks with entrees .... But that's minimal compared to the fact that my husband ordered steak Diane and got the skirt steak instead (what I ordered). I originally ordered mine med rare and him medium but decided to change my temp to med so we could share (try different dishes). We receive the same dish (the skirt steak) and both were overlooked (absolutely not a hint of even a little pink in either). This dish was spicy, which I like, but my husband drank both our waters with no refill, and our glasses of wine. No one ever came to see how things were, offer more wine, or refill our waters. To top it all off, we were the only 2 people in the restaurant on this Friday night from 7:30-8:45!! And then we sat and waited to be noticed for about 10-15 minutes to get dessert? Nope sorry just want the check... Please... Do I have to raise my hand? read more
