Would have given -5 if possible. We arrived mid afternoon to an almost empty restaurant. We placed order and waitress was very appeasing. However when food arrived portions for an adult plate were more so for a toddler. We asked for it to be redone and waitress advise no problem. Meal was brought out 2nd time and looked like the same food was just manipulated on the plate - except that now the bread was burnt, lettuce was hot and tomatoes were missing. Over all this was a horrible experience for a very pricey bill. Manager was reluctant to speak with me despite knowing that there was an issue. when she did approach was all attitude and lacked basic communication skills to deal with public. Had some family come to town to visit my Mother. Everyone's stressed because she's in CCU - so we wanted some place quick and close - this fit the bill. Among us - we had grouper baskets (5 pieces with 1 side - both elected beer battered spuds), catfish basket (server misunderstood and brought grouper), buffalo wings, and 'boneless' buffalo wings. The food was okay. The server was okay. The view of the marsh was nice and provided a lovely photo opportunity. Would I go back - yes - to try the drinks - but I'd probably stick with a burger or wings. We sat and sat , waited saw people get seated after us; order their food; eat it; and leave. 8:15pm We got salad and soup appetizer. 8:20pm: We asked the waitress what the hold up was. She responded kitchen is very busy and everyones food is behind. 8:30: 2 kids meals finally came out. 8:45pm We waited longer. Asked for a manager , she apologized and said our food was going to be comped. 9:05pm Our food was out. We got the bill they "comped" $15. Our bill was $105. Located on the marsh, cool view, interior is sorta dark. Start by saying everyone was super friendly and our service was great although they were slammed. We had fish sandwiches. One fried and one blackened, both had lettuce and tomato and a handful of melted cheese on top. No sauce but given tartar and ketchup. Cocktail sauce was actually really good, not typical bottled. What a gigantic rip-off. The drinks were tiny and mediocre. The food was beyond horrible. My daughter and I each ordered the crab soup. It was like a thick pasty roux with a little bit of crab. Inedible. The salads were basically bagged iceberg lettuce with one cherry tomato and one cucumber slice. My tomato was black on the inside. (It also clearly states on the menu that there is an upcharge for extra sauces, dressing, and refills-wow.) We orded the boiled shrimp, which was okay, but not great. The shrimp was outstanding, cooked to perfection with a little cocktail sauce on the side (although it was a little hotter (too much Horseradish for my taste) than I like. It was very clear from the moment I walked in that this is where the locals of Brunswick go, and it was not hard to see why! Our waitress had worked for the restaurant for over 20 years, which tells you a lot about the pride they put into their business and their employees. The food was absolutely spectacular. We went to Jekyl for a weekend and looked everywhere for a good seafood place to eat. We drove by Marshside Grill on way to St Simons and didnt stop because it looked a lil shady on the outside. St Simons was crowded so we left and was so hungry we stopped at the Grill. It was delicious! And they were conscience of covid and staff was wonderful. Best seafood my husband and i ever had and i lived in Va Beach for 4 years. We going back to Brunswick just to go wat at Marshside Grill. Well worth the trip. read more

Read the reviews and don't understand why it was rated 3.5 stars. I think it deserves a 4. My mom and I wanted to try local seafood after a day at the beach (Jekyll Island). I read about this place and really liked their menu selection. Located outside of Jekyll Island close to the Sidney Lanier Bridge (approximately 2 miles). We had a late lunch so we were seated right away. Love the view on the deck which overlooks the marshy wildlife land. Too bad it was too hot to dine outdoors (95 degrees and humid). Our server got our drink order right away. She asked if we needed any help with the menu which I thought was nice and helpful. I got Sweetwater on tap and Bass in a bottle. I also noticed that they are certified "Wild Georgia Shrimp". I started off with the House Salad with Parmesan Peppercorn dressing (and my mom did the same). My mom also got the crab stew (soup). For dinner I got the Grilled Fish Tacos which had a spicy sauce in a 6 inch tortilla with wasabi coleslaw (you get two tacos) and my side was the spuds (sliced potatoes which is coated and fried, very tasty). My mom got the Shrimp Quesadilla (included grilled shrimp, cheese with a side of sour cream and salsa). We got our food and really enjoyed all of it!! My mom raved about her shrimp quesadilla and soup. She mentioned that the seafood was fresh and cooked just right. I enjoyed my fish tacos. Has great flavor and love the spicy kick of the wasabi sauce. Food was hot and did not have to wait long. Service was excellent, restaurant is very open/clean, and bathrooms clean. My husband and I sat outside last Wednesday for a late lunch on our way to Jeykll Island. There was no wait and just a few other occupied tables at 2:30PM. We got the blackened shrimp cocktail as an app and I ordered grilled chicken fingers. Husband ordered alfredo pasta with blackened scallops and blackened shrimp. All was very good and no fishy taste. I am conflicted trying to decide if this is a 3 or a 4. I came in with a group of 14 people on a Friday night, expecting to wait for a good hour or so but ended up waiting so much longer even though we were initially told about 30 minutes. Luckily, the patio area provided a gorgeous view and a live band helped fill the air with a pretty awesome playlist. In total, we probably waited nearly 2 hours for a table. Once we sat down it took another 20 mins just to get water and another 30 mins for our food. But I overheard a couple complaining near us that they waited 2.5 hours as well so it does seem to be a normal thing.The Brunswick stew was probably the best thing I had. It almost tasted like a pulled pork stew and had tons of fresh vegetables and a few dashes of tabasco made it taste even better. The crab stew, on the other hand, didn't live up to its name. It was thicker than a New England clam chowder and was gloopy without a whole lot of taste. My fish for my fish of the day sandwich was incredibly fresh but I was disappointed in the bun. It tasted like a bun you would get from Wal-mart and just didn't hold up to the awesome filet. Overall, the food was pretty good and the atmosphere was really nice but the wait was just outrageous. So I just called (yes....called... I didn't even get a chance to make it in the door) at 9:20 p.m. and was told that the kitchen was closed. However the closing time listed is 10:00 p.m. I asked to speak with the manager and he tried to justify the reason why the kitchen is closed and customers aren't able to order food when they are open.... Basically stating that they do not want to pay the kitchen staff if they are slow and that typically on their slow days (Sunday & Monday) they will close the kitchen around 8-8:30 so that the kitchen staff can clean up and get out of there..... I cannot be the only person who thinks something is wrong with this. I informed the manager of the closing time listed on Yelp & he seemed surprised & stated that he will take that down, but I'm confused because why would you not know what is listed regarding your place of employment and you are a manager?? I'm very disappointed how this was handled. Needless to say, I will not patronize with this business. Maybe someone should do a better job in how they are portrayed and advertised. It is now 9:42 p.m. and I could have ordered my food and picked it up by now. This is very misleading and once again very disappointing! I'm beginning to think customers are second and that great customer service is becoming extinct. read more
