    Loaded tots
    Brianna V.

I went here with a large group and the service was great. They have plenty of room to accommodate us and the food/drinks came out quickly. There is a lot of different parking in the area but can be a pain when busy. I got the loaded tots for an appetizer which were great. They were flavorful and a bit spicy. I got a chocolate milkshake, which was delicious. It wasn't too heavy to drink with my meal. I ordered the cauliflower shawarma bowl, which was very flavorful. The prices were generally reasonable for the area

Mouthwatering burgers!! Their food was hands down amazing, I had their loaded baked potato soup as an app and it was delicious! Our server was attentive, and it was a very clean dining area! A couple critiques we did have was my burger was ordered medium however was more medium rare, and there was a natural gas/propane smell that we mentioned to the employees. Overall would come again but I would order medium well and I'll bring a gas meter (only joking there could've been an ulterior explanation for that smell).

What a burger! Our mid-afternoon lunch at Max Burger was delish! The Maple Whiskey burger was layered with flavor-a special maple whiskey sauce, blue cheese, caramelized onions, arugula and applewood smoked bacon. The drippy moist burger was cooked perfectly medium. Loved the skin on fries, too. Everyone at our table was raving. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting outside on their large outdoor patio, too. They have beer, wine and spiked milkshakes! I hope to be able to return one day!

Umami burger . First , the pickle were incredible and I hate pickles . They were sweet unlike regular pickles . Burger was delicious!

This location is huge ! Lots of seating . They do have family style seating that accommodate up to 20 people . Our waitress was awesome . Very attentive! Good came out fast and piping hot . We loved everything we ordered . Not one complaint ! Drinks are expensive but well poured ! You won't be disappointed.

Service was good - we sat at the bar to take advantage of happy hour . Hubby got the burger - good choice always ! My nachos were a little boring but we were just popping in for a beverage. Next time I would probably order from the regular menu. In general, always reliable and many times exceptional. Not sure why I fail to review this place so often -likely because it is an institution that doesn't need reviews

    Blackened shrimp tacos
    Michelle C.

Ordered the blackened shrimp tacos minus the lime -cilantro slaw (not a cilantro fan). I did choose the cole slaw as my side and added to the tacos...so good! Our waiter was very friendly. The kitchen did miss sending out some condiments my family asked for but our server corrected it quickly. Also had the Seasonal Sangria which I enjoyed but it was a bit too sweet ...just my opinion though. My daughter who likes sangria said it was good.

How do you change the french fries? They were perfect. Delicious. A staple item.. worth every calorie. Now... bland, possibly frozen, would rather get broccolini as a side. The grilled cheese is still decent.. Sorry MB.. you were always 5 stars for me but I never wrote a review. Changing the fries did you dirty

    The All American Burger
    Kevin W.

Great burger spot in west Hartford that serves various styles of burgers or custom made to order. I got the All American burger on a pretzel roll with truffle fries and it was delicious. Burger was perfectly cooked to order, fries were well seasoned, and all of the other food on the menu looked good as well. Nice atmosphere in the restaurant with some light music playing, everything was clean, and service was exceptional as well. Look forward to returning and trying more of the menu.

Big Kahuna Burger and Eggplant Fries

I've been here two or three times before, but never reviewed or took photos. We went on a Saturday night and it was fairly busy but we didn't have a wait and food came out quick enough. My wife' dared to order a salad at a burger restaurant but it was very good. I stuck with a classic beef burger. I love pineapple on a burger (pizza too for that matter). Eggplant fries were some of the best I've ever had. Wish I lived closer so I could come back more often.

We decided to drop by Max Burger on a Sunday afternoon. We were seated right away and well attended to. Our table was clean and in a quieter part in the back of the room. Our drinks and food were served quickly. I had a Cherry Valance (rye, cherry liqueur, vanilla liqueur, black walnut bitters) and my partner had a shake special with whiskey added to it. Both were delicious. I ordered the Maple Whiskey Burger with tots and my partner had the Fatty Melt. Both were cooked perfectly and tasted great. We were very satisfied by our meals.

Used to be one of my go to restaurants. The amount of times this place has changed their menu is insane. I get changing it up seasonally but they never bring any items back. One of my all time favorite items was their short rib taco last year and it is nowhere to be found again. So sad. I at least thought they'd bring it back for summer! Most recently we came because we know their hand cut fries are amazing. Shockingly enough our entrees came out with clearly frozen fries. The menu still says hand cut fries. Staff told us yes they definitely are not hand cut anymore. Really unsure why this decision was made. In addition, I asked for the chicken swarma wrap on a Friday night at 5:30pm and was told they had zero wraps left so I had to get a completely different entree. Unfortunately, not sure anything on the menu really will bring me back.

Do they still have the wait-list app?

Yes, you receive a text with a link to the "app" when you're added to the wait list. However, it's an online service, not an app that is installed on your phone.

Do they still have the Sargent Peppercorn burger, it is not on the online menu?

We returned for Father's Day and we were seated immediately without a reservation, though I think we just got lucky so I don't recommend this. We all shared the warm olives, the croquet poulet sandwich, the fries, the quiche lorraine, the chateubriand, the roasted beets, and the strawberry ice cream. It was all a hit, and when a 3.5-year-old and a 22-month-old are enjoying your food without any coaxing or help, you know it's fabulous! My husband got some cocktail and I got the phony Negroni mocktail. Service was great and the atmosphere is chic without being uptight or snobby at all. We all left really happy. I still dream about that sandwich. I'd love to go back and try other things on the menu. I'm sure they knock everything out of the park. I am hoping Le Mazet will be our special occasion restaurant.

Among myself, my husband and young toddler we destroyed this. My daughter was eating so much of this steak and so were we! It was sooo tender and we loved the gravy on top. The fries were amazing and when they were drenched in that gravy it was chefs kiss! What really brought it all the together was the salad paired with it- it was light and refreshing and the dressing was so good! For dessert our server suggested the chocolate custard so we got that and a berry handpie. We ate both and kept saying "oh my god" with each bite. My daughter especially loved the chocolate custard but my husband and I loved both equally! We immediately said after our meal how we have to come back. We cannot wait to try other menu items and their cocktails next time. We are huge fans and will definitely be back!!

Wow well this was a sad experience…read more Came here for my birthday lunch with family. The server was all alone trying to wait on a dozen tables or more. We ordered an appetizer of nachos and a few burgers for mains. And waited. And waited. I was checking my watch often because we had two hours on the parking meter that was rapidly winding down to zero. Nachos came after a while. Nothing to write home about... almost stale chips with a cheese/sour cream/green onion and jalapeño topping. Maybe a dozen black beans in the mix. We waited again for our mains. After a total of an hour, they came. I ordered a black & blue burger and asked for tomato to be added. It arrived without the tomato, so I reminded the waitress about that. And eventually the tomato came from the kitchen. Single slice. But by this point the burger was getting cold. I opened the bun to put it on and then saw the kitchen forgot the onion strings. So I flagged her down again to ask and she apologized and went off... to clear other tables. After ten minutes I asked her if the onion rings were coming and she was confused, thinking I didn't want them because I asked for no onions on my salad. No, I just said no raw onion on the salad. She asked it I wanted the onion strings after all. At this point, the burger had been sitting for at least ten minutes and I told her to forget it and just remove it from the bill. She looked over her shoulder and said, "here comes the manager". The manager shows up, reaches over to adjust the umbrella on our table, then leaves. Without saying a word. He walks off and we don't know what's going on. The waitress returns and says she comped my burger 50%. I asked why not 100% because I'm not eating it at all. She blinks and says she'll check. Bill comes back with it removed from the total, and I'm missing my credit card. She runs back exclaiming how she forgot the card and probably could use some coffee today. Ummm, yeah. This was error on error. Not a good look and pretty sad customer service. At least they had the World Cup on tv.

I declined this request since my service dog was not misbehaving in any way, barking incessantly or at all, and not being disruptive to any other patrons. After about another 30 minutes, Mr. Drouin approached me with Mr. Brown and demanded that I leave because according to him my dog was too young to be a service animal and therefore must be in training, and I was being disruptive by talking to patrons who asked me about my dog. I informed Mr. Drouin he was incorrect, that my service dog is fully trained to provide the service for which she is required, and the law does not prohibit me from interacting with patrons who approach me about my dog. The mussel sauce was unique compared to a typical tomato base, which we really appreciated. For my entrée, though, I was disappointed to see that the tuna salad I always order had completely changed. It used to be an arugula salad with Asian flavors and the tuna served on top. Now it It's a Niçoise salad, and the tuna is awkwardly placed on the side. Nothing about the tuna tasted like it did before. I'm usually a sucker for ahi tuna, but this was honestly one of the most disappointing ahi dishes I've ever had. It felt totally incohesive with the salad next to it. I really wish they didn't change the menu so frequently. Once I finally find an entrée I genuinely look forward to, it disappears.
