First time visiting this sushi place with my mom and I. The whole restaurant was very clean and well designed. The sushi rolls were had was very fresh and delicious!! The sushi rice was well reasoned and roll portion w8se to price ratio was good as well. Our waitress was great too. We both had a great time and filled our belly : ). Highly recommended give them a try!

We normally like to go to I Love Sushi but now that we moved north of town this is honestly the next best thing! Glad we stumbled upon this lil gem, the staff is also very kind & makes sure you're taken care of! Great food & great vibes all around! 10/10 I'd recommend

Maya Sushi is easily my favorite sushi spot in Fresno, it's consistently fresh, quick, and satisfying every time. We got the Spicy Garlic Edamame to start, which is super flavorful and a great way to kick things off. The Spicy Scallop Hand Roll tasted fresh and well-balanced with lots of mini scallops included. For cooked and raw rolls, there are so many solid options. The Shrimp Tempura Crunch Roll had large, crispy pieces of shrimp, and the Spider Roll featured nicely fried soft shell crab with great texture and didn't taste oily. The Dragon Roll and Cherry Blossom roll were both fresh and well put together. My favorite has to be the Scooby Doo Roll, a baked scallop roll that's rich, flavorful, and always hits the spot. Across the board, all the fish and rolls tasted fresh and high quality. On top of that, service is always quick, with food typically coming out within 10 minutes. If you're looking for a reliable casual sushi spot in Fresno, this is definitely one to keep in rotation.

This used to be a solid, convenient spot for sushi, but over the past few months the experience has steadily declined, and today was the final straw. We sat at the bar, the only seating available, and were not greeted, acknowledged, or given menus by any sushi chef, manager, or the four waitresses on the floor. Even after a sushi chef told the waitstaff that two people were waiting at the bar, no one came over. After about ten minutes, we decided to leave and take our time and money elsewhere. Unfortunately, this is not an isolated issue. The last two visits included incorrect orders and missing sauces on a to go order, which required us to return after checking in the car. While we once chose Maya over Wassabi or Sakura Chaya for convenience, that convenience no longer outweighs the consistent lack of attention and customer service.

Location: Maya Sushi Date: January 3rd, 2026 Service: Mobile Order This New Yorker in the Central valley absolutely loves loves loves Maya Sushi located off of Champlain Drive. Even when I gave my mom some, but she had her own order and she was like oh my God this is so good. I was like right. Their price is unreasonable and the food flavors and color is always great. My only issue is their hours. The hours are weird on the weekdays. Weekends are good. But when they aren't open, I definitely take advantage of it. When you have the time, check them out. Check out these photos attached to this review.

I haven't found many go-to sushi spots since moving to Fresno, but Maya Sushi Lounge is officially at the top of my list! I came here with a friend, and we had an incredible experience from start to finish. We kicked things off with the garlic edamame and the jalapeño bombs --both were delicious and perfectly seasoned. The highlight of the night was definitely the "Maya Special." We weren't sure what to get, so we told our server what we liked, and she told us the chef would combine all our favorites into a custom roll. It was such a cool, personalized touch! When it arrived, the presentation was stunning--it looked almost too good to eat (but we definitely ate it).

The roll portions here are huge! My partner and I usually share three rolls, but we were completely stuffed after just two. Takeout was ready quickly. I believe we ordered the Green Hunter, Titanic, and OMG rolls. I'd definitely come back, but next time I'll go for more variety--everything we tried had a strong spicy mayo flavor. Not a bad thing, but it'd be nice to mix in some different tastes.

My bf took me and our son out for some sushi. I been here one time before but it was a while ago and it was random. Finally had time to check out the menu. The employees were all friendly cus when we walked in they all turned heads and said hiii welcome! The place was nice and clean and there's even a table that has a nice background for people who love to take selfies. Very cute. Our server was also nice and helped us by answering any questions we had. We couldn't decide really and they had a lot of amazing rolls on paper. So we just went with BOAT B. It was $100 and it came with 30 sashimi. We got to pick some of the ones we wanted. And the rest we had chef pick. It also came with 8 nigiri which we also got to pick some. Deluxe Cali roll which came with eel on top. And edamame which we opted to be spicy. We also added a spicy ahi tuna seaweed salad. Everything came out fairly quick. The boat looked amazing! The seaweed salad was good! Not the best I had but still good. Edamame was just right. And the sashimi was really fresh! Nothing fishy about anything we ordered. We even had leftovers to take home to which I finished later that night lol.

Fave roll here is the tempura crunch roll. Aside from the California roll, we have yet to try other rolls. Also, we have only ordered take out. They are kind and friendly, and the restaurant is clean.

I came here a couple weeks ago I'm just barely getting around to the review but the sushi here was delicious. i ordered the teriyaki bowl as well which was my favorite. the veggies added to the bowl felt like they melted in your mouth from how good they were and i wish they would have added more veggies into the bowl. they add lots of rice and just the right amount of teriyaki chicken. sushi was fresh and yummy. prices were reasonable on the menu. service was quick. the place was packed but they sat me down relatively quickly. the only thing is they forgot my miso soup but when I mentioned it the servers eyes lit up and she was so very kind and brought it to me shortly after. I honestly do not blame her the place was so full but the service was still pretty quick. the lighting is not very bright kinda romantic in my opinion, I think it's perfect for a cute first time date if anyone's wondering lol.

Whether you're craving sushi, teriyaki, or ramen, they really have something for everyone. The sushi and sashimi are incredibly fresh -- honestly some of the freshest fish we've had at any sushi restaurant. It tastes like the chef went out and caught it that morning. The 14-piece sashimi platter with a couple of rolls was more than enough for two people, and everything was excellent quality. The ramen is also fantastic, but fair warning: the bowls are HUGE, so definitely come hungry. Throughout the service, our server never offered us water or came to check up on us. It was an off vibe like they were having a bad day and it resonated to us. The food was a big letdown. We ordered the agedashi tofu, earthquake roll, big boy, fireball roll, and a sashimi appetizer. Each item we ordered had an issue. The agedashi tofu was super bland and the broth didn't pair well with it. I've had this dish several times at other locations and this wasn't up to par. The rolls were drowning in sauce and ruined their texture. The rice was also overcooked and very soggy. Soggy rice drowning in sauce is not a good combination. Lastly, the sashimi appetizer was served lukewarm. Each piece of fish had a mushy texture instead of being firm, and it didn't taste fresh. Perhaps serving them on top of ice to keep it cold would help. Plus, the miso soup was very salty. My bowl came with no veggies whatsoever, except for the chopped green onions for flavor and garnish. The rice to chicken ratio was unpleasant. I feel like I ordered rice with a side of chicken. The two pieces of California Rolls were definitely made ahead of time. The Nori was soft and observed the moisture. The flavors within the sushi were good though. The ratio of rice and avocado, plus the other condiments came together well. This was accompanied with some teriyaki sauce you pour over your teriyaki bowl and some wasabi sauce to add to your sushi if you wished to do so. The service itself was not rude, but also not the best. With everything put together, I'm pretty disappointed in my returning experience here. It was such a good place from what I remember. I'm not sure if it's new ownership or leadership since I was last here, but it is definitely not the same quality that made me want to keep coming back before. I won't be back, but you can always give it a try and see what your experience is.
