My nephew and I ordered bento boxes for dinner. The portions were good and moderately priced around $15-21 or so. He got the teriyaki beef bento and I ordered the vegetarian bento. Both come with miso soup, salad, rice, tempura, and a California or veggie roll. He really enjoyed his box. My "main entree" was edamame which was different. Usually the veg entree would be tofu Katsu, a stir fry dish, or more vegetable tempura. Edamame was dry. There was a lot of food so we had leftovers! The service was friendly. I asked for sriracha and spicy Mayo on the side and they charge for that. We had a great experience. It's a bit further from where we live so I probably wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. I felt deceived by the high ratings. Perhaps it was just a bad night when we decided to try this place. My husband and I ordered for takeout via their online website through yelp. We ordered 3 raw rolls: Five wishes, Green Hunter and E'z Roll. We also had to try their money ball and gyoza. The wasabi was old, it was dry and it wasn't dissolving when we mixed it with our soy sauce. The money ball tasted so salty. The gyoza was good. The sushi rolls were not wrapped tightly. I absolutely love sushi! It's one of my favorite meals. I've also spent some time at the sushi making school in Santa Monica, CA. So I'm a bit of a sushi snob. I say all that because this place got a great yelp review, which is the only reason I went, however, I was really underwhelmed by the food. I went on Thursday night about 6:30 pm. The restaurant was about 80% full. I got a seat and was immediately served within the first two minutes of sitting down. The restaurant was clean, and the atmosphere was inviting and casual. I was with two other people and again, I can't say enough about how good the service was. Our waitress was very attentive and even made suggestions. The food was just okay. We ordered the baked mussels, jalapeño bombs, a veggie bento box, ramen, 5 wishes roll, and some other roll that I forgot. The mussels came out cool, so the sauce was just plastered to the overcooked mussel. The mussel didn't taste like it had been seasoned apart from the sauce. The jalapeño bombs had a good flavor, but were were oddly placed on a bed of crunchy tempura. It was a very odd presentation. The jalapeño were cooked perfectly and I really did like the filling. My table was a little disappointed that this dish wasn't spicy, at all. The sushi rolls were just okay. Bland rice, same sauce on the different rolls, the fish was fresh, and the rolls were a bit on the smaller side. Bento box was beautiful and the tempura veggies were cooked perfectly. All in all, it was a good restaurant, but I wouldn't go back for sushi. The menu was very plain. Crab, shrimp, tuna, and salmon essentially make up the whole sushi menu. Nothing exciting. I can essentially get the same type of fish, and sauces at a pokeland or butterfish for about $4-$5 cheaper. read more

Wow, this is definitely my new favorite place for sushi! I was near the area and was craving sushi all day. This was my last stop for the evening last night. It was a few hours before they closed and it wasn't busy. We got greeted and was seated immediately. We were told to sit anywhere we wanted. They had dine in and outside dining available. It was a little chilly so we sat inside. Our server was very nice and attentive. There were many rolls to select from. We ask her opinion on some of the rolls. She was very knowledgeable and gave us her recommendations, customer and her favorites. Our food came out quickly and everything we ordered was so good. We were so full but we couldn't stop eating until all the rolls were gone. The rolls were pretty big, tasted fresh and had a lot of flavor. We didn't even use our soy sauce. Our server ended up leaving since her shift ended. Our new server was also very friendly and made sure we had our refills and asked if we wanted anything else since their sushi bar was closing. So glad I did not pass up on this place. I will definitely be coming back. I almost regret that we didn't have any leftovers so I can have some today. I will be back soon! read more

We decided to give Maya Sushi another try. The first time was at least 9 months ago and it was good. We had a nice meal and never went back. A few Sundays ago we went by and they were open for lunch. In fact we were one of the first ones there. We ordered the chefs special or Maya special and another super roll. We love fresh fish and this fish was fresh. We had our first Maya Special and can't wait to have the second! The sushi chef's were attentive and created a beautiful delicious specialty roll that I dream off. The wait staff is great.
