Underrated boba shop in the east side of San Jose! My friends and I decided to get some late evening boba before they closed at 7:30 pm. Though arriving at 7:10 pm, the staff were getting to ready to close shop and still took our orders! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a warm boba shop when you come in with a cozy interior that's cat themed![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's a cute cat mirror and cat wall paining for that aesthetic picture with your boba.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have a daily special of buy 2 drinks get 1 free! Such a good deal. I got the mango tea 50% sweet with lychee jelly. Was done in 5 minutes and it was refreshing, sweet to my liking, and good! A great experience and I recommend that you should go here!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Feels like a place for younger kids so I felt a bit out of place here. There were board games and toys for kids for them to play with.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered the Mango Coconut Delight and it was a lot bigger than I expected. The coconut flavor was good and had bits of mango inside. I got 50% sweet but I still thought it was too sweet, perhaps because this place has a younger audience. If I came again I would opt for a lower sweetness.

Closed on May 19 sign out their door. It would be nice if they updated that they were closed on yelp. Wasted my time and energy driving there.

I always stop by Meow Tea when I take my brother to get a haircut. I like how Meow Tea always has the deal of buy 2 get 1. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are a few chairs for you to sit on inside and parking is kind of difficult.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The shop also provides a few games that you or children can play on.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The pricing is decent and very affordable. Hits: * Meow Tea Mix is a good classic boba if that's what you're looking for. It comes with grass jelly, boba and coffee jelly. I do think the regular sweet is too sweet so I always get less sweet. * Mango Coconut Delight is also very refreshing. I enjoy the mango and like how it comes with egg pudding. Final Verdict: Solid 4/5. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The shop is always playing sweet and cute music.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We also ordered the Black Sugar Fresh milk but I found it kind of basic and didn't stick out much. The staff is also nice and answers any questions that I may have. Although parking is a bit difficult, it is kind of worth it for the deal they offer.

We got their honey yuzu with 50% sugar. This was very nice and refreshing. Surprised this came with jelly. A great value for $5! Would definitely come back to try their other drinks and snacks!

Meow Cafe We ordered two drinks here 2 Wintermelon Aloe they had a "Buy two get one free deal" so we got a Vietnamese Milk Coffee. Drinks 5/5: The wintermelon aloe teas were rich in flavor and a great level of sweetness. The aloe was fresh and provided a great balance to the drink. The Vietnamese coffee was strong and flavorful. Since I drank the coffee the following morning after the ice melted, the cup looked a quarter empty. But it was a free drink so I shouldn't complain, but look at the photo of the unopened drink.

Excellent fruit teas. I got mango, lychee, and peach teas with passion fruit popping bobas and lowest sugar level (10-25%). They have a buy 2 get 1 free deal. I paid $4.50 per drink + 0.50 per topping. Really affordable, but more importantly, very delicious teas. Their fruity teas are perfect treats on a hot day. The lychee tea has bits of lychee fruit in the drink. I really like the snacks too: takoyaki are my favorite. Service is great: nice and friendly. This is my favorite boba tea in San Jose.

    Lihz P.

Wow! I have not been here in a long time! Hands down still the best takoyaki in town and the fish ball? Yum! I honestly come here more for their food than their drinks. Minus one star for the super long wait - it took about 30 minutes for 3 food items and 3 drinks. & [[HIGHLIGHT]]it was hot and stuffy inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

food, service, ambiance - all okay. We had the wintermelon tea, earl grey milk tea and boba tea with creme. They have B2F1 which is a good deal. Their price is decent too. We ordered pandan waffle, it's crispy outside and soft inside, very mild pandan flavor. There is no AC, it's kind of warm inside. They have some board games which is good to kill time while waiting for the food and drinks.

    Calamari heads

Always come here for the avocado smoothie. Hidden gem in san jose. Their snacks are also delicious. Recommend to try the calamari heads. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The shop is clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Staff are friendly and flexible.

My favorite boba place in San Jose!! They usually have a buy 2 get 1 free deal and the drinks are so affordable. They have one of the largest menus I've seen with lots of variety and customization. They have a nice TV where they play music videos or movies. At my last visit, we ordered: - matcha with mango slush - matcha slush - watermelon slush All drinks are incredibly delicious and refreshing! The drinks are always good quality. They never miss!! I definitely recommend everyone to visit Meowtea in SJ.

What I had: - Lychee Matcha (double matcha, regular sweet, regular ice) - Yuzu Matcha (double matcha, regular sweet, regular ice). Double matcha was not overly strong or caffeinating to me (love that they do not charge extra for this option btw)- my caff tolerance I'd say is relatively high or above average for sure. Surprisingly, at that matcha level the taste is not overly bitter at all. And the regular sweet is perfect (I normally get 50% sweet at boba shops). Same with the ice level, I think their regular ice level is fine (I normally get less ice at boba shops). The Lychee matcha has great lychee taste, not artificial tasting, it's a great blend of both lychee + matcha. The Yuzu is leaning towards the 'lemonade' profile without being overly citrusy. More refreshing than the lychee matcha, but both are refreshing anyways due to the nature of their flavors! I think I prefer the lychee matcha normally, honestly hard to say which flavor is better! I thoroughly enjoyed both these drinks! Their flavors are blended well with the matcha- not overly sweet in flavor, and matcha is great quality while not overly powerful or bitter. Drinks are of course mixed well and composed nearly perfectly. ---How I Rate on Yelp:--- (5 stars): Exceptional!! -- food, service, and atmosphere all outstanding. Worth going out of your way. (4 stars): Great! -- very good experience overall, minor flaws but nothing major. (3 stars): Good -- decent, acceptable, but there's room for clear improvement. (2 stars): Poor -- disappointing experience, multiple issues (food, service, or setting). (1 star): Terrible -- very bad experience, would not return or recommend.

You could buy tins of Marukyu Koyamaen matcha if you want to make lattes at home! Came here twice with my boo because their drinks slap! The Hojicha latte is not too sweet and very roasted, nutty, and smooth. The matcha crème brûlée swirl drank seemed to be their popular drink because a lot of those were being whipped up when we were waiting for our order. It looks aesthetically pleasing, but damn she thicck. It's like a milkshake and you need a big boba straw to get the liquid through. It was good but my boo said it was sorta a challenge to drink. A spoon is needed to thoroughly mix things together. The 2nd time around we ordered the matcha latte and the Hojicha cheese mousse. The Hojicha was a little stronger in flavor since there was no milk added to it. The cheese mousse was thick. I started drinking it through the sip top but eventually went in with a straw to mix it up. The hint of saltiness from the foam paired pretty well with the tea. My guy got the matcha latte with oat milk and the oat flavor is pretty overpowering. You'd taste the oat and then the matcha. It was okay but my boo finished it with no complaints. The shop is small but there's a long bench and a few tables to sip and chill. You mainly order from the kiosk, but when a long line forms, a human assists with ordering. The drink competition is strong in the plaza that they're in. There's at least 3 other boba shops in the same strip they're in and 2 more across the way. But Izumi stayed pretty busy the times we were there. Parking is kinda limited though because they're in a busy plaza. The last time we came we parked across at Target nearby and walked over. Overall, great Hojicha and matcha. The prices are decent for the area. They'll charge you if you want a cup of ice btw. Service is quick. I'd definitely come here again or to any of their other locations. When it comes to matcha they know what's up!

I got the coconut mango sago (D4) and mango mochi. I dove right into the mochi, which was fantastic. The mochi was so soft and chewy, the shredded coconut attributed a nice texture, and I loved the mango bits in the center. I also enjoyed the coconut mango sago. There wasn't an option to modify the sweetness, which I was concerned about at first. The drink came out perfectly in balance with sweetness, and I felt that mostly came from the natural sweetness of the mango and coconut milk. The shop has a bright, clean interior with a casual atmosphere that makes it an easy place to stop for a refreshing dessert. Seeing stacks of fresh mangoes behind the counter immediately gave me confidence that the fruit would be one of the highlights of the experience. The mango desserts were easily the best part of my visit. I tried the Pomelo & Mango with Sago, which combined sweet mango, creamy coconut milk, chewy sago, and fresh pomelo for a refreshing balance of flavors and textures. I also enjoyed the Mango Chewy Ball, where the fresh mango and smooth mango juice paired perfectly with the soft, chewy rice balls. Both desserts felt light while still being satisfying, making them a great option on a warm day. I also had the chance to try a few of the other menu items. The mango mochi was fresh and soft, with ripe mango wrapped inside a delicate chewy layer. For something different, the spicy chili fish balls offered a savory contrast to the fruit desserts, adding a bit of heat and a springy texture that balanced out all of the sweetness. The ordering process was quick and straightforward, and my food arrived not long after I found a table. The dining area was clean and comfortable, and small touches like providing wet wipes made the experience feel a little more thoughtful. It is the kind of place where you can stop in for a quick dessert or stay a little longer while sharing a few different items with friends. Overall, Hui Lau Shan is a great spot for anyone looking for fresh, fruit-forward desserts with authentic Hong Kong flavors.
