Went for Valentines day dinner!! It was amazing, I have the mango ceviche,seafood paella, and the churros for dessert. Everything was absolutely delicious and will be back to try out the rest of the menu. It is a little pricey but you definitely get quality food. Spent about $70 per person. This is an interesting review because we have been to this exact location couple of years ago but it was under a different name. When two of us arrived the third person was already there waiting for us. She went not happy because she had accidentally attempted to open another door and it was locked. Instead of the staff coming out to help her, they laughed and laughed. When we entered, I asked the hostess to make sure she gave us the "funny guys "who laughed at my friend. The hostess understood my meaning and the service was great the rest of the day. We went there for Miami spice. The food was very delicious. I think I would go back there but I think that the service needs a little bit of help if they are going to laugh at people. Our waiter was knowledgeable, nice, and funny in a good way. As a person who uses a wheelchair, the place is located in an area where it might be difficult but not impossible to get parking. The bathroom is accessible. Food was so yummy!! Scallops were great! My boyfriend's favorite part of the meal, alongside the almond praline dessert. My boyfriend got the linguine Del Mar and it was so delicious. It tasted fresh and was loaded with calamari and such. I had the enchilado de camarones. It was yummy although I did prefer the linguine. Finally, I had the strawberry pavlova. While both desserts were good, the pavlova was much lighter than the almond praline so if you're looking for a light and not too much kind of dessert, I would go with that, although my boyfriend would beg to differ! overall, amazing and I can't wait to come back! read more

This is another place I tried for Miami Spice this season and loved. The dishes range from classic Latin seafood dishes to new takes twists on some of these dishes. The bacalao croquetas with provolone and yuzu were among the best bacalao croquettes I've tried in Miami. The corvina in rum sauce was generous and fresh with a great balance of flavors. The service is friendly and fast and the place has a nice beach/ocean theme. read more

I decided to try Mesamar after hearing from several people that it was great. The first thing I noticed in the restaurant were the beautiful book shelves! It has a very cottage feel about it and seems like you are eating in a home by the sea, not the gables. I couldn't decide on a main dish so I opted for a mix of appetizers since everything sounded so good. We choose lobster tacos, rock shrimp, a salmon and coconut roll, churasco pincho, and ceviche. My favorite was the lobster taco, they were two mini tacos but the flavor was huge! Next were the pinchos, the meat was cooked to perfection and the cream sauce they served it with was delicious. The coconut roll was suggested to us by our server as one of the most popular apps so we gave it a go. She didn't disappoint because it was definitely not something I would order but the flavor combinations were so good. The last two were the ceviche and the rock shrimp, neither would be what I would recommend to someone, because neither stood out very much to me. The rock shrimp reminded me of bang bang shrimp and the ceviche just didn't hit the spot. In all, I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting to try something new. It's an intimate setting which is great for a meal with family or friends. The service was wonderful and I will definitely be back to try the entrees soon. read more

Brings four large scallops. The Gorgonzola and pear ravioli has an amazing taste but I do recommend to get something salty (shrimp, steak, or chicken) to have the balance. Amazing after taste with the hint of truffle oil at the end. I had it with the shrimp. The fried calamari in my opinion wasn't anything nothing special, but it was very fresh. Good date night idea. Love this place! This is my 3rd time here and I came with girlfriends to enjoy the Miami Spice menu. I was not disappointed at all. This place actually never disappoints. We were 3 so we got to try about almost every item on the M.S menu and everything was absolutely delicious! We got more food than anticipated and left the restaurant feeling full and happy. I moved down from New York to a building in the Gables area. This was recommended to be by one of the staff at my building so I had to come see what all the fuss was about and wow! Used to be my favorite restaurant. Now it's not. Service is lacking, food not what it used to be. This is the second time it's been less than average.Too popular for their own good. Staff and management have no interest in service or quality anymore. Just left and there was NO manager on duty. Third rate waiters who Never filled water glasses and left empty plates that we had to ask to be cleared. The staff Served dessert with no utensils and never asked us if we wanted coffee. I had dinner for the first time a few weeks ago with my family. The menu is varied and the prices are high, but the fish is extremely fresh and I know that good quality comes at a price.Instead of the Hog Snapper special, I had the Chilean Sea Bass which was perfectly prepared and was absolutely delicious. My only complaint was that the portion was very small. I'm glad that we had appetizers because if not, I would still have been hungry. Dinners come with a Caesar salad which could use some extra dressing on the side. The almond desert was to die for - I highly recommend it. The service was very friendly and helpful. It's not always easy to serve and satisfy a large group, but our waitress always had a smile on her face. The new decor is lovely and the idea of creating the alcove with a library theme was brilliant. I hope to visit again. read more

Such a disappointment. We had the grilled calamari which had a nice taste, but it was not hot. We also had the croquettes, which were terrible. They're clearly frozen and were "garnished" on top of a slab of what can only be described as velveeta. Our entrees were just as horrible. Paella rice was frozen- didn't have that beautiful texture of fresh paella from the skillet. It was also soupy. The seafood seemed to be fresh but there was just NO flavor. My husbands linguini was just cheese mixed with seafood. Save your money and go to Bugatti. read more
