Eating at MesaMar is an exquisite experience. This is a chic restaurant & bar serving a fusion of seafood and Spanish cuisine in a beautiful venue. First off, we had been at the annual, private Seville Festival on Alhambra. This restaurant is right off the main street, located on Giralda. If you know Coral Gables, you know Giralda has the best restaurants and a fabulous nightlife. Everything in this restaurant is great. Starting with our server, Lea. She was very attentive, funny and knowledgeable of the menu. We ordered mojitos at first but they were pretty terrible. No sugar, not sweet for a mojito - very weird. We then ordered a bottle of Tempranillo, Conde de Siruela - Robles. This is a very good wine, that made up for the terrible mojitos. Our server arrived immediately with a basket of sliced french baguette bread and butter. The bread was warm and incredibly soft - yummy and good. For appetizers we ordered 2 of the fried calamari, they did not disappoint. These calamari were crunchy, not too bready and fresh, served with a side of marinara sauce. For our mains we ordered the following: The Linguini Del Mar. Which is linguini with shrimp, scallops, calamari and mussels tossed in a vodka sauce. Very tasty and full of seafood. The Boneless chicken with house vegetables. The chicken was very flavorful, even though it was butterflied and flattened. My issue was that the vegetables were predominantly mushrooms - which I'm not a fan of, only 1 piece of zucchini and 1 piece of squash. So, I ordered a side of fried yucca to accompany the meal. They were very scrumptious. For dessert we ordered the Strawberry Pavlova - definitely a misnomer. There were strawberries but no pavlova. A pavlova has a crisp crust and is soft and light on the inside. This desert was neither. No crispy, merengue, more like a mousse with a ton of dulce de leche in it. Ultimately, this restaurant is one to try. I very much enjoyed it and look forward to trying other options from the menu.

Amazing service! Such a nice intimate and welcoming ambiance. Food was delicious! All the voli305 vodka martinis were incredible! Couldn't have enough

Loved everything about MesaMar. This was the best salmon I've had in a long time. The lobster tacos were great albeit small appetizer. The Star of the Sea cocktail is perfect for passion fruit lovers (no jalapeños for me but it is optional). Both the chocolate mousse and the almond praline were good. I love sweets and I'd say the almond praline was borderline too sweet for me. Very attentive staff and not hectic for a Thursday night dinner.

I came here today with my two friends to sample the Miami spice 2024 lunch menu. It did not disappoint. I ordered the following - Fried Calamari. This was so, so fresh. The calamari were soft and not chewy at all. The batter was so light and crispy. A great appetizer. My friends had the tuna tacos. I sampled a bit, and they were also very good. The tuna was extremely fresh. For my main I ordered the Linguini with Shrimp. This came with a finger licking garlic, butter, white wine, and parsley sauce. A solid dish. My friends ordered the Branzino and salmon. They stated they were very pleased with their choices. For dessert we all had their flan. This was also pleasant, although I wish there was more caramel sauce served with it. We also had a cappuccino each to round off our lunch. Not only did they look pretty, but they were wonderful too. The decor is pleasant. Look at my photographs to see their unusual bottle themed chandelier. The service was also top notch. A five stars from me.

Really liked this restaurant! We sat outside and had a large plate to share as well as three appetizers. The tuna tacos were yummy but very small. The dessert was very unique and delicious. The seafood plate had some highs and lows. The lobster tail and the calamari was delicious. The fish felt very under seasoned. The ambiance was great and the service was very fast and excellent. Michael was our server and he was great!

Came here on a Saturday night with a girlfriend and we didn't have a reservation but we didn't have to wait long thankfully. The place itself is really beautiful, decorated nice and upscale but inviting as well. The service was awesome we had a really attentive waiter. We ordered the Crispy Rice, the Rock Shrimp, the Grilled Octopus, the Paella MesaMar and the Tostones side. Overall, everything was great! Top picks were the crispy rice and the paella. The tostones were average and the grilled octopus lacked a unique flavor. I would have liked more seasoning on it. The rock shrimp was good, definitely filling! Would I come back? Yes! That crispy rice alone was worth it. The paella was also packed with seafood so it's nice you don't get skimmed with that when paying a good amount for it. The drinks were also delicious!

Had the pleasure of going to this amazing restaurant. The food was delicious and well seasoned. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a good fry fish. Everything was fresh (they actually let you pick your own fresh fish).

This review is a little late. We were there in July but nonetheless it deserves the highest praise and recommendations! The chef and owner of this restaurant is as talented as she is sweet and incredibly accommodating! She made me a guacamole after I begged her even though it's not a part of her menu! She came out to meet us and even made changes in her menu for my very particular request! The flavors in this restaurant are just exquisite and every single item on the menu is flavorful, unique and cooked to perfection. Lobster tacos are my personal favorite and the flavor is just so exquisite mix of light, tangy, sweet and maybe a tiny bit spicy. The famous dish to get here is custom made fish! It's served by pound and It can be cooked any way you want and make sure that you try that if you come. The atmosphere is classy and very pleasant and the service is exceptional! I need to go back as I love my deserts and that was one thing I didn't get to try!

I was in town on a Sunday night with 3 girlfriends before departing for a cruise. The meal we had at MesaMar was one of the best meals I've ever had in my life! Everything we tried was delicious. They had a special menu, appetizer, main course, and dessert for $60. I ordered the rock shrimp. It was so good in a tasty sauce. The other appetizer options were langoustine, lobster tacos, and salmon sashimi. We also ordered ceviche. Literally every bite of everything I tried was delicious. I had the filet mignon for my main course and it was cooked perfectly and so tasty. My friends wanted to try too. For dessert I had the chocolate mousse with oreo crumbles. It was very good, but the almond praline was even better! Marcos was our server and he was great, very attentive and didn't mind us getting a little rambunctious with mamajuana shots. The restaurant is small and cozy. The bathrooms were clean & nice.

Great place for a romantic dinner. The service is phenomenal and very accommodating. The food is also good, but I think I was expecting a little bit more from them in that regard. Nonetheless, it was tasty and I enjoyed my experience. You have to have the almond praline, it is probably the best thing I had there.

Ive been here several times before covid. We Live walking distance. We love the Tuna Tartare (but as recommended by Pedro) order it with the tostones! Delicious! They also have Flecha Azul (additive free tequila). Pedro is an asset to the restaurant, so friendly and hospitable. Thank you. We will definitely be back.

@annainthe305 These are actually half portions of arugula and paella. They kindly pre-split them for us. Everything was delicious!

My go to and my suggestion if you are a first timer is their madurito. It is one of their classics and most beloved, and a personal favorite too. When I go by myself and order the mini, I tend to have left overs and I have found that when I go with my partner, the regular is more than enough for both! Each sandwich somes with some platanitos, which are a perfect combo, and I would suggest you order un jugo de parchita (or maracuya) or try their beloved coffee. As a matcha lover, I recently heard they started offering matcha as well which I am SO excited to try. P.S., keep in mind that they don't allow laptops and I feel like they might even have a wifi blocker since signal gets so bad inside, but I really appreciate how it motivates you to remain very present and connect with the staff and other customers around you.

During live performances, one waitress would get up on stage and play instruments and at other times bartenders would join in. I was truly smiling from ear to ear all night. I drank delicious mojitos all night and even with a packed venue the drinks came out extremely fast! Although the restaurant was packed, our waitress remained extremely kind and attentive throughout the night. To me, the food was just good. We had the Jamón Serrano Croquetas to start. They were a little cold for my taste and not the best I've ever had but they weren't bad. My husband really loved his skirt steak ropa vieja and didn't leave a single grain of rice. I opted for the rabo encendido pasta. I like that they weren't skimpy on the rabo. The downside of this place is that to maximize space, you're packed in like sardines. The tables are basically on top of each other. A larger sized person would not fit getting in and out of their seat and my husband was constantly backing up into the people seated behind him. Overall, this is a place you definitely visit for the atmosphere above food. I will 100% be coming back for drinks, appetizers and more live music. It is an incredible spot especially for those looking for Cuban nostalgia.

You can't beat having a fake cocaine brick (at least I think) sitting at your table amidst the menus and drinks. They have regular silverware but do use plastic cups that gives off that relaxed, casual vibe. There are several craft beers from all over the country available from $7-10, and I believe a couple house wines. I think the nicest drink you can get is a frozen lemonade or fruit punch. It comes virgin and a little sugary, a little coarsely icy, a lot refreshing. But you can ask for a shot of rum to be added to it. I could drink 3 of those if I allowed myself to! I have tried friends' Cuban dishes, like yuca fries, tostones, rice and beans, which have all been standardly good. But I always get drawn to the Greek menu and end up ordering the plates. The plates are huge and come stacked with fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, a beautifully dressed salad, tzatziki, hummus and pita slices. You have a choice of side, and I have unashamedly ordered the crispy, crunchy fries each time and have plenty to share. The proteins are clearly made freshly---the falafel is crisp and the chicken kebab is well seasoned and moist. However, they come up with creative and tasty offerings as well. The Cuban Sandwich Empanadas are stuffed with juicy pulled pork, ham and melty cheese for a snack you didn't realized you had been waiting for. The Greek egg rolls blows my mind and are a great hot, greasy, juicy, meaty treat. The servers are typically on it when it comes to orders and whatever you need. Owner Adrian keeps his staff on point, and JJ is always a friendly face when we go. They inform us at the time to pay (at least in my experience) that 18% gratuity is automatically added to the check, so the tip page is for any additional gratuity.
