Walked in and was sat very quickly! Was super excited to see they had mimosa's on the menu. It was $4 and some odd change and the glass was large and had more champagne than orange juice. I had the eggs Benedict, it was wonderful. My boyfriend got pancakes and I think they were the best pancakes I've ever had. Again our waitress was awesome, smiley, and nice. If you need a good breakfast diner joint, come here. Their lunch menu also looked wonderful. I would like to come back tomorrow morning to try their carrot cake pancakes they have on special! Have always had a wonderful experience and that is why it's always a must when visiting Palm Coast. However they fell short on June 12th for breakfast. Party of 6 nobody was thrilled. I think they need to look at who was on the line that day cooking. Today September 6th they totally redeemed themselves. There was a small hiccup while waiting for our table due to all the Covid changes restaurants have had to implement but after that the food and service were fantastic and did not disappoint. The 2.99 Mimosas and Bloody Mary's are awesome as well. read more

I've been here before when it first opened and was busy and had an extensive menu. I don't remember anything about it. This time the menu is much smaller, it's not busy and the BS clapping, and back talk in the kitchen is REALLY annoying. The server (Candace) was quite friendly - a plus. The meal arrived in a reasonable amount of time. I ordered a 3 cheese grilled cheese with bacon and tomato. This was cooked quite nicely, and tasted great. I also ordered mashed potatoes and gravy - which were absolutely delicious. Seriously, I nearly ordered a second; but, I didn't because Candace slapped down the check without asking if we wanted anything else. I will also add that she never checked back to see that everything was OK. This was a problem because the club sandwich that my Mom ordered needed more Mayo, and she couldn't get any because Candace did not make herself available. So, a below average atmosphere, a limited menu, mediocre service and very good food. You choose. My advice is sit outside. read more

Great food at Great Prices with Great Service. We asked local servers at other restaurants and they recommended this place so we tried it and was thankful we did. The servings are huge with plenty to take home for dinner later or lunch the next day. We had the Shrimp & Grits and it was cooked to perfection. The chicken and waffles served with strawberry butter was to die for, my kids both had this and they asked for more butter because they loved it so much, I had the chicken plate and I'm a big chicken lover from Kentucky and to say I was impressed is an understatement, it was some of the best chicken I've had in a long time it reminded me of my grandmothers cooking, and the gravy well don't get me started I ordered extra just to take home to eat with the rest of my chicken. read more

Found this place using Yelp while we were down on Palm Coast for vacation wanted a good breakfast with local flavor. When we got here place was packed but surprising we were seated within 20-25minutes with seating outside makes the seating so much faster for a place that looks small. The staff are nice and friendly food well being from Texas want a little more seasoning not looking for a lot of spice just more flavor. My wife had a simple 2eggs, bacon & hash browns. I ordered what was the metro diner skillet eggs, cubed red taters, sausage, bacon with onions and side of grits. Once I tossed on some hot sauce gave a little spice some salt & pepper all good. Went there for lunch today. Ordered the hamburger. It was the worst hamburger I have ever had. It was overcooked, dried out. I have eaten breakfast there many times without a problem. This shows they don't have a person that can cook something as simple as a hamburger. read more

Yes! Let me start by saying, we had to wait 20-30minutes for breakfast on a Sunday. The movement in the place is incredible!! The employees help out with other tables. The foid was SO GOOD, I didn't even have a chance 2 take pics. Our girls had the 6 silver dollar pancakes and tje kids chicken and waffles, they were delicious!! We had the California eggs benedict and the special, lemon blueberry waffles...WOW! I was going to order pancakes, but when I asked the waiter, he recommended the waffles. So....a lot to like here but also a lot of performance gaps - in the food quality and presentation and the service. I'd tone down my own review on service as all places are struggling right now. On the food - the basics just come out bland here right now - and the feature items are some lame attempt at some kind of a Southern Fusion - say of old school South and some goofy twist. Examples: Breakfast - the Steak & Scramble Bowl is just bland. Dinner: Chicken and Waffles (also breakfast) - chicken is soggy and waffle batter has no taste (and I don't have COVID!). The Metro is a go to for me. Great breakfast lunch and dinner. Mostly house made food and portions are large. I especially like the BLT club jammed with crispy bacon. They have a specials board with great twists on comfort food favorites. Prices are very reasonable for the area. Our server Savannah was great. So I heard everyone rave about this place and we are new to the area so let's give it a try I thought. Three things 1 not much flavor to the breakfast, used half the salt and pepper shaker to get something going for the biscuit and gravy 2 they did have the tables set up for social distancing which was great. Bad part is they had fifteen people at the door in a space about ten by ten. Guy had his arm practically on my wife's head. They should have made some people wait outside while their tables came open 3 wife and I ordered the exact meals. Both of us held on to that meal for about fifteen minutes before we ended up in the bathroom. Enough about that. One positive is our server was prompt and courteous First time, last time for us I always hate to leave a bad review for any restaurant and the only thing I think the restaurant needs to work on is the safety of the diners during these times. I mean my wife and I might have a bug or something that didn't agree with meal and or the cook may have been a little off today. Heck it had to be something since everyone else loves the place. I only ask that you work on where and how you have people wait on their table. Wow! I stopped in on a Sunday on way to Miami. Soooooo glad I did. I had the best meatloaf I've ever had in my life, and being from Ohio I was raised on meatloaf. Their gravy was so good I could pour it on garbage and it would be good. The mashed potatoes had onions and or something in them which was spectacular. And the green beans had to have been picked that morning. The staff was super friendly and warm. My waiter gave me a free iced tea for " waiting" .... I didn't even notice. The folks next to me had turkey and there was so much of it that when the dude left 1/2 half of it on his plate I was seriously tempted to claim it and ask for a box. Metro Diner is always busy. Perhaps the reason is ..... there are so few diners in the area. And perhaps it's the food .... which is delicious and there's a large variety. Thus the 4 star rating. But I'm writing an honest review and I want to add my concern. IN MY OPINION, it's noisy. I've only been there at lunch and dinner so the restaurant is full but I think the interior isn't built with enough sound absorbing materials. Some may say, as long as the food Is good, who cares! The food is consistently delicious at Metro. But this one in Palm Coast is so dirty. Wash the walls, clean your windows. Dust inside the bathroom stalls. It's a huge turn off seeing food stains, dust and dirty windows everywhere. Remove the dirty curtains and don't put them back up. Having a clean restaurant is a part of the service too. read more

While looking for a new or different place for dinner we discovered a 10% off coupon for the Metro Diner, so we decided to give it a try. We arrived to find the place very busy but only waited to be seated for about 3 minutes. Booth of table? We choose a table and the waitress stopped by about 1 minute later for our drink order. Drinks came and she took our dinner order. My wife ordered the chicken pot pie and I ordered pot roast. OK, so this is diner food so not high expectations. The pot pie had a flaky crust and was filled with meat and vegetables, "it was good" said my wife. The pot roast was excellent as were the mashed potatoes that filled the plate. My only complaint was the gravy...a bit to salty for my taste. Upside, fast friendly service, very reasonable prices, large portions, nice selection of menu choices; basically everything you'd expect from a diner. No real downsides since you're not going here for fine dinning. But I can recommend the Metro Diner for good wholesome food. read more
