My first time ever going to a Miami Subs. They just opened back up in town, so hey why not check them out...right?! Well disappointed is an understatement. I was not impressed to say the least. This place did NOT live up for the hype of being a good place to eat. They've been open now about 2.5/3 weeks and you would think that they'd still be trying to make a great first impression. Nope! We ordered a 10 piece wing with fries, a fish and chips, and a side of cheese sticks. The cheese sticks were not good at all. The cheese didn't even pull when you bit into them. The batter on the fish was too thick and the fish was over cooked. Not to mention the fries were over cooked also. The food tasted as if it was cooked in very old grease . Which was surprising since they've only been open a few weeks. (Maybe they haven't changed the grease since they opened ‍). Then they forgot to give my friend 10 wings on his order ‍ thank goodness we dined inside. He eventually got his other 5 wings after having to remind the runner that she forgot. The layout of the restaurant is okay. It seemed a little crammed to be honest. Maybe this is how all other locations are set up, not sure ‍. Overall I wasn't impressed. I seriously doubt if I'll ever go back. I just hope they change out the grease and don't continue to overcook the food. read more

We just tried Miami Grill again, the wait was so short now- the staff was all attentive too. The food is still excellent but out in 10 or fewer minutes! (not over 30 like before.) Love the change up. read more

Growing up in south Florida, Miami subs has a special place in my heart. I was ecstatic to finally try Jacksonville's location. It did not disappoint. Staff was very friendly and lobby was well tended to with the high volume of customers. read more

Gave Miami Grill a try, ordered a Chicken Pita Meal to go. Got back to my office and my Chicken Pita was a Gyro... to top it off it didn't even have the cucumber sauce so it was extremely dry and basically inedible. So it went in the trash and I go hungry til I get off work! The seasoned fries were good, the service was also good, however obviously inattentive, seeing my order was wrong on multiple levels. Visited for the first time since I live nearby. Arrived before the after work rush. Ordered grilled wing and Gyro platter. Gyro platter was good according to wife. They didn't have grilled wings so I ordered grilled shrimp with salad and no fries. Waited 40 mins for 8 small grilled shrimp and still got fries. Informed staff that I ordered salad no fries, waited another 20 mins still no salad. Finally tracked down manager told him that I never received salad and he provided me a salad to go. I want to patronize since I leave very close but they make it very hard. Better management s certainly needed! read more

Wow was sooo happy to see the return to Jacksonville, we've been eagerly waiting, but WOW, what a disappointment!! I Ordered the steak sandwich with onions and peppers, no mushrooms and mayo, lettuce and tomato, my wife ordered a Greek salad, and boneless wings mild with a key lime pie slice and two drinks to go. What we received was almost incredible...I received no lettuce or tomato on my sub... umm well ok it's fast food, my wife got a Cobb salad, not a Greek and the wrong dressing to boot, the wings had no sauce (NONE) guess that makes them VERY MILD, and the wrong dipping sauce, And they didn't even put the pie in the bag either... They absolutely butchered the order completely!! Oh to add insult to injury, I also asked for the Miami sauce ( their signature stuff) and got Tzatziki sauce instead (love the stuff just not on chicken wings or steak sandwiches). My bad I didn't check the order thoroughly before I left, but that's game set and match, for me and Miami Grill. Not one portion of our order was correct and we were missing items. I called the store, 4 Times about 1/2 hour apart from each other and the phone rang constantly with no pick-up! It was way too far to drive for the pie or other corrections and We went out of our way to go there...They show No concern for their customers, so I won't be one again!! read more

I love the food here but they have a lot that needs to be done! Today was my second visit since opened, i didn't mind waiting 20-25minutes AGAIN after ordering to receive food. What i do mind is, when i drive from Orange Park, 37minutes one way, I would appreciate it if the people told me they were out of their normal buns/ran out of items already. Today i ordered #6 grilled, one to go, i would of never ordered the to-go extra had i known the bun was going to be different, not the normal standard! Little inconsistency's such as this really annoys one when certain expectations are expected and undelivered. This place is OVERPRICED! They honestly rip the customer off. I asked for a chicken pita. All that comes with it is tomatoes and lettuce. Anything else is charged separate. I ordered a pita and my chicken was wrapped in tortilla. There is a huge difference! I also ordered black beans and yellow rice. For $2, they gave me two small condiments containers, one with rice the other with beans. I was charged almost $13. What a flipping rip off. I will never return there! read more

It recently opened and so we were looking forward to eating here. I actually invited a good friend out to lunch and let's just say the food ended up sitting in my room not my stomach. Going by the pictures on the menu since it was our first visit, I was disappointed by the gyro and be favored with lettuce, some meat product and a pita bread. I did not realize I was to assemble it myself and would be so dry. It confused me how they could mess up our order and give my friend fries and me a salad and when we brought this to their attention they asked to take the fries back which were sitting inside her platter plate, covered in her salad dressing. Now I am wondering, had we given them the platter back would they have built my gyro correctly. This place is awful...I went there on Saturday night and order a full cheese steak with only meat cheese and mayo ...after 25 mins in the drive thru line I get home to find it loaded with fryed onions!!! I went back yesterday Sunday to try it one more time this time I again waited around 20 mins in the drive thru line and order BBQ chicken wings...got home and they put the sauce on the side!!!!! Relieved to see a familiar place when driving through Jacksonville! Used drive through and although there were a few cars ahead, it only took us about 10 minutes to order and get our food! Cheesesteak was hot and freshly made (I don't like onions), lots of meat and the sauce was delicious. Loved the spicy fries and the kids ate every bit of their chicken fingers and fries! Wish there were more along our route north because they asked for more! Husband loves their wings and if they weren't so messy we would have brought him some! Oh my boy was I excited when they arrived. I have never been compelled to write a review for any restaurant or bar in my life until this place. The worst staff in history you will find 4 to 5 employees sitting at the counter in uniform ignoring everybody and bugging the staff while they work. Don't bother calling them on the phone they do not answer and there is no voice mail or any identification you have called a restaurant. They sell Philly cheese steaks and forget to put the cheese on them than you call for a remake and it takes an hour because they are being bombarded by every customer asking there one counter person how long will it be on one order of fires they ordered an hour ago. Poorly run , bad management and a huge mistake. A disgrace to anyone from Miami. If you have hours to kill for poor food than go there. read more

I want to like this place so bad because they have good food but this location is terrible! The wait is almost always over 20 minutes and if I'm going to wait that long at least have the food be decent. This visit I waited way long than 20 minutes for my food. I got the Philly cheesesteak and the meat was burn, what little meat their was so I basically just ate a loaf of bread with fries for $9. Where do I begin? I am originally from broward county and "Miami Subs" has always been on point like alwaaayyysss! I really haven't been home that often due to moving around due to the military but the last time I visited Miami Grill was around October 2016 in West Palm beach and the food was amazing. I am home visiting and decided to go by for lunch since it's a new location and figured it would be the same as down south. The fries? Wow I know I haven't been home that long but they were not the same fries they weren't the same seasoned fries as usual, they were disgusting. Thennnnn I asked for pita bread and they said they had raned out but overheard they indeed did have pita bread so informed cashier to give me pita bread please. The pita bread was not the same at all, tasted store brought and I barely had meat on my chicken philly. Oh and the soda machine they had, had no soda at all. No drinks were available except Powerade like seriously! The cashier stated they raned out of a lot of things so were waiting for a delivery. I understand you guys are new and want to open as soon as possible for the public but if you aren't gonna have enough then why open?!!! I mean I saved 15% on military discount but Jesus I could've saved money by not even going there. Maybe I caught them on a bad day but I won't be going back! I will most definitely wait to go to Ft.Lauderdale area, hopefully they will be in stocked and taste the same as I remember! read more

I went twice. I never had any problems with the food as far as taste is concerned. It gets two stars because the drive thru is terrible. It's definitely not a place to go to when you're in a rush.I waited a very long time both times I went. And the first time I went I asked for a large combo in which I stated twice but got to the drive thru window after the long wait and got a small one and I was disappointed in the amount of fries I received as well. They're pretty stingy with the fries compared to other fast food places,and regardless if you order a small or a large(second time I got a large).Well maybe at least the two times I went I didn't get much fries. I wasn't upset or anything I was like maybe that was just a bad day for them I will give them another try. So, I decided to go a second time to see if my experience would be better. When I went the second time and finally made it to the drive thru window after the long wait and paid for my food I heard the cashier yelling out my order for the cook to prepare it after I already waited a very long time. What was going on that whole time I waited for my food? And after my food finally got prepared I hear the cashier yell out loud to the cook "Hey can you wrap her sandwich". So it seem they may be unorganized. Also, I reminded the cashier before I got my food that I didn't want any mushrooms on my sandwich and the cashier was like it doesn't come on that sandwich so I was like ok. I get the sandwich and it has mushrooms. What would had happened if I was allegric to mushrooms?And I thought it didn't come with mushrooms Lol. So, it seems they need to listen more too. I understand everything not going to be perfect since they just opened at this location but they got to get a handle on getting people in and out of that drive thru and listen more because after the long wait no one is really going to even bother to ask for them to correct their order. Since they just really opened up I will give it some months out before I give them one last try maybe they're still trying to figure stuff out or get into their groove but once I do a 3rd visit if it's still a long wait & not in order that's it for me. ordered a plain steak sub and came with onions, when went to return to correct it they said they picked all the onions out of the cheese and its good now. and half of my cheese was gone. makes you not trust the employees there to cook your food correctly and makes me wonder if they will spit in your food!!. threw my sub away and will never eat there again read more

We are so happy that they came back to Jacksonville. Went up there on a Friday night and the drive thru was wrapped around the building and the line inside was to the door, was told that the wait time after ordering your food was 30 to 45 minutes after you placed your order, didn't have anywhere else to go so sat at the bar and watch the employees. It was chaos, but there were a couple of young ladies that handled it well, some mishaps, but that is to be expected when you are as busy as they were. We ordered the Cuban Sub (YUMMY) and Fish and Chips (OKAY), went back again on Monday night and ordered the 10 piece wing with Buffalo (again YUMMY) and the Loaded Philly Steak and Cheese (YUMMY), didn't have to wait to long, but sat at the bar and talked to the employee's that were there. We are going to be going back to this spot and try different items, so far so good. I think everyone needs to give them at least a 2nd chance - you know good and well when you are a new place in town the first couple of weeks is chaos and it takes some time to get settled in. read more
