Golden soup wontons + side of peas.
    Jeff Y.

4.5 stars I first tried Mian when they had their location in Las Vegas (with free mung bean soup!). I finally got a chance to try this location in South Coast Plaza. There was no wait for a party of two to be seated on a Saturday around 1:30PM. The interior is not that large but there are a good number of tables and the decorations are beautiful. Service was fine but minimal due to ordering via QR code. They have combination deals where you choose an appetizer, noodle dish, and beverage for $20-25 + tax, a pretty good deal. We tried two such combos and enjoyed the crispy cucumbers, golden soup wontons, hot and sour noodles, and spicy intestine noodles. We ordered passionfruit green tea and mung bean soup as our drinks. The food came out promptly. All of the food was tasty with generous portions. The golden soup has the tastiest broth in my opinion, and the mung bean soup was super refreshing. You can't go wrong with Mian for an affordable and tasty meal!

Came for their Combo set deal and it was very filling! The potions are great if you're looking to share between two people and don't want to get exceptionally full. If you order the combo for yourself, you will definitely feel very satisfied. Beef Noodle Soup (8.5/10) Not very spicy, great noodle texture, and balanced broth. This is a great beginner beef noodle soup due to the rich flavors, tender beef pieces, and mild spice. Spicy dumping (6.5/10) Love the garlic flavor and chillies that compliment the dumplings well! However the wrapper was a tad too thick and the filling felt like it was missing something. Beef Roll Pancake (7.5/10) Great flakey texture from the pancake and wrapped tightly into a roll. I definitely enjoyed the balance of cucumber and onions. The sauce used was a tad sweet in my opinion. The service was fast and using the table QR code to check out made the experience accurate and efficient. I enjoyed that there were photos on the ordering page so you can see the dishes! I appreciated the servers for coming to check in with us frequently.

We had dinner here the other night. It is located inside South Coast Plaza on the level below Din Tai. So there is ample parking. The restaurant itself is charming and has a fun vibe. We both got the $25.99 Signature Combo. You get your choice of drink, an appetizer and one of the signature bowl of noodles. For an extra $3 you can add a dessert. We got the brown sugar ginger tea and the passionfruit green tea. Both were so refreshing and tasty. For our appetizers we got the chili oil dumplings. We loved the flavor and the heat on the dumplings. The dumplings themselves were soft and filled with pork. We got the spicy sparerib noodles. I loved the bok choy. The noodles were fresh and bouncy. The meat fell off the sparerib bones. The broth was rich, warm and delicious. For dessert we got the brown sugar rice cakes. Soft, sticky mochi texture and the brown sugar was the right amount of sweetness. The pumpkin cakes were soft and delicious. I loved the grated coconut on top. In addition to the signature combo, we added spicy cucumbers. They were crispy and just the right amount of heat. The vegetable fried rice was delicious and so flavorful that we ate all of it. We also got a cold combo with seaweed salad, wooden mushrooms and beef. It was perfect to break up some of heat from the noodles and dumplings. Wonderful service and large portions will make this your new soup noodle spot.

So I heard this is a Michelin awarded restaurant here in Costa Mesa. Being at South Coast Plaza I thought it was a treat since I was doing a little shopping in the neighborhood. I decided to order the combo which was 25.99 which included boba milk tea, spicy beef noodles, and chili oil dumplings. With the combo, you could've chosen other types of combos. I was told the one I ordered was the most popular. The dishes were seasoned beautifully with a slightly spicy taste. The noodles were delicious with immense flavor. The beef, I have to say, was so tender and juicy. The dumplings were soft, squishy, and had the best chili oil sauce I've ever had. It's worth the price and worth checking out sometime.

Great service and staffs are friendly. I ordered spicy beef noodle and the food is good. Great place for authentic Sichuan spicy noodle. The only thing to call out here is to connect to south coast WiFi for taking orders.

Food is really good. We love the zajiang noodles and spicy beef noodles. Kids friendly. Pot stickers are so crispy and juicy. Service is good too. Good choice whenever you're in south coast plaza

Unique food options that really expanded my palette, authentic Sichuan taste that's one of a kind, plus the mango smoothie and beef noodles were a hit. Welcoming, family-friendly service. The interior design of this restaurant is beautiful and it's the perfect place to bring your family and get some good eats after shopping since it is in the shopping center.

Came here for the all you can eat for $30 OC Restaurant Week deal. True to their word, everything on the menu was fair game (except soft drinks which is $5 more). I ordered all the popular items such as Beef Roll Pancake, Shrimp Fried Rice, Mapo Tofu Noodles, Steamed Egg Pork, Pork Shrimp Fried Dumpling, etc. The dishes were delicious and my mouth had the spicy zing feeling after eating sichuan spices. My favorites were the Mapo Tofu, Fried Dumplings, and Beef Roll Pancake which were all delicious and had a premier flavor. The fried rice could've used more flavor, which is why it's best accompanied by chili oil. Great food overall for a limited time deal.

We tried Mian during OC restaurant week and took advantage of the $30 all you can eat special they offered. The all you can eat included full portioned dishes, anything on the menu. If you wanted unlimited drinks it was an extra $5, which was totally worth it! Food- 8/10. Food was yummy! I loved being able to have all you can eat so we could try many dishes. I loved the cucumbers and dumplings. The rice was a little bland but had a lot of shrimp! The drinks were good, but I wish there was a little extra sweetness to them. Service- 10/10. Everyone was so kind and helpful! Carroll was great and helped us with everything! Restaurant- 9/10. The restaurant had a lot of seating! They had sit down and to-go options. They also had a viewing area where they made the food, which was cool. The restaurant was clean and organized. It's in the South Coast Mall, so there are lots of shops around and parking. We went at 3:30pm and there was no wait.

Ok we are officially pigs. We did the all you can eat Mian OC Restaurant Week. Started strong with the Mian Cold noodle combo, steamed egg with minced pork, sesame balls, chili oil Chão shou, hot and sour chao shou, shrimp and pork pot stickers, shrimp fried rice, chicken in chili oil, and beef rib. We are officially stuffed. Definitely come here when you are hungry and in South Coast Plaza. The staff are amazing! It's downstairs from Din Tai Fung. Happy Yelping!

Pickled cucumber 3. Tomato & beef noodles 4. Chicken gizzard noodles 5. Mango boba light milk 6. Fried Chinese donuts with sweet soy milk - simple yet so delicious!

Randomly decided to try this place with the wife last night…read more I remembered there being a spot called mogu mogu here prior and confirmed with the waitress that it's the same menu! Spicy miso ramen: 9/10 Actually one of the better ramens I've had lately. The broth is creamier and isn't overpowering with chicken/beef flavor. The chashu was nice and tender as well. I really liked that their noodles were al dente and not too soft Deluxe mazemen: 8/10 Taking my first bite, I was instantly greeted with an explosion of umami. There's a LOT of flavor packed in this bowl and the noodles used are actually a bit thicker which is right up my alley. My only drawback on this dish was that I wished it came with some sort of veggies to cut through all the flavor. They also give you a small serving of rice at the end for you to mix into the bottom which was a nice addition Kurobota sausage: 7.5/10 We've recently been on a kurobota craze. Don't get me wrong, these were great but we've only had them charred and grilled before so I was taken aback when I saw that these were only steamed. Flavor was spot on but I'm a sucker for a nice char or crisp to my meat Overall, loved the service and small restaurant vibe of this spot. We were seated very quickly and the food came out even faster. Definitely come try this spot, I know we'll be back

The interior is cozy and small with authentic Japanese decorations/setup. Kinda felt like we were eating in Kyoto or something, lol. The lady who served us was friendly and gave us good recommendations. I think she was handling the whole operation to be honest. To start it off, we ordered their specialty chicken karaage and it was very delicious. It has a nice crispy and crunchy texture. The batter on the chicken was good and once you bite it, the meat is juicy and tender. Doesn't really need dipping since it's so good. As for the Mazemen, we ordered the Deluxe and Veggie one, both is a 5/5. Very flavorful and it tastes just like ramen, but without the soup. The presentation of the dish looks like a work of art. Very picture pretty. I ate that shit up within ten minutes. After that they give you a scoop of rice so you can mix it up with the leftover sauce. Lots of umami for sure. Definitely will come back again to try the other flavors. People, trust me and come through!

Funny enough, another friend I met the day before also recommended it before I even mentioned it! She raved about the chain and said she often visited the Irvine location. That really sealed the deal for me, and I was excited to finally try it! The location we went to is located in the food court across of a new boba spot and Mochinut on the first floor of the Collage Culinary Experience in the South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa. There is ample open air free parking around the area for customers. We visited during their weekday happy hour (2:30-5pm) which offered three different deals: $9.99 with two chicken options, $12.99 with either ebiko prawn ball or crispy cod, and $13.99 with the big prawn shrimp and chicken noodle. All included a non-alcoholic beverage. It was a great deal! My friend recommended the trio noodle soup, but it wasn't part of the happy hour special, so I chose the last option. I ordered their Big Prawn Noodle with iced Oolong tea. The broth was light with a hint of umami, but not as fragrant as I expected it to be based on the reviews and my friend who frequents this chain. Maybe I got the newer, top batch without the deeper flavor and umami? The shrimp was also not the huge beautiful prawns that their menu showed - just those regular frozen round headed ones. I was a bit disappointed by my meal. My friend ordered their Ebiko Prawn Ball Dry Noodle, and my boyfriend ordered their Trio Shrimp Dry Noodle. The ebiko prawn ball tried was really good. If it's homemade, kudos to the restaurant! There was a lot of flavor in that small prawn ball which was amazing. Overall, an ok spot in my opinion. It was unfortunately a bit underwhelming but maybe it was just a bad day when we went. I do want to come back and try their Signature Trio Shrimp Noodle and maybe some of their appetizers at our next visit!

This wasn't just a "ramen joint"--it was a masterclass in authentic Fukuoka-style soul food. The Broth: Liquid Gold The standout was always their Signature Tonkotsu broth. You could literally taste the 30+ hours of labor that went into it. It had that distinct "frothy" texture (the bubble of the bone marrow) that you only find in high-end Hakata shops. It was rich, creamy, and carried a deep umami funk without ever being overly greasy. The Hits * Black Tonkotsu: The roasted garlic oil (mayu) added a smoky, dark complexity that ruined all other garlic ramens for me. * God Fire: For those who like to sweat, this offered the perfect balance of heat without sacrificing the integrity of the pork flavor. * The Karaage: Genuinely some of the best fried chicken in the area. You order along the counter and find a seat after paying for your food. The service interactions are minimal and they gave very short responses when we asked questions. It was also a little bit off because the cashier went off to go do another task in the middle of our transaction so we ended up having to stand there and wait for a few minutes in order to get a receipt. The portion size is decent and the noodles are very fresh. The noodles have a really nice chewy texture and they're really enjoyable to eat. We said yes to adding tempura flakes but it ended up making the soup fairly oily. The shrimp tempura was mostly batter and it was difficult to find the shrimp inside. Because my buddy and I sat at the same table we scanned the same menu, he ordered a bunch of stuff and also House Special Beef Pot Roodle. That confused the kitchen and they asked me if I meant to order 2, I said no and didn't realize I cancelled my buddy's order. Part of the confusion of a large party and many scanned menu orders. My buddy was struggling to order and our initial waiter seemed to not understand my friend and that took a little bit to work out, young lady came from the back and was able to quickly resolve some of the confusion and get questions answered as needed. In the end he had lot of food to explore. One thing that caught my eye was several couples there and sharing a large soup item served with a tray of various food items for the soup. Kind of a date night visual and something that looked very interesting. Several couples around us had that same dish and its got me more curious. Might have to come back with my wife and try this one.

I decided to give this place a try because I heard their noodles were very authentic, and as…read moresomeone who loves noodles, I was excited to try it. I ordered their most popular dish, the A1 set, but honestly, it didn't really live up to the hype for me. The broth tasted pretty underseasoned overall. From what I understood, you're supposed to mix all the toppings into the soup with the noodles, but even after doing that, I still felt like the flavor was lacking. Yes, they provide seasoning on the side, but personally, I wish the broth already had enough flavor on its own without needing to adjust it myself. Would I come back? Probably not. Nothing really stood out to me enough to return, and it felt more like a one-time experience. Overall, everything was just okay.

This place is one of the best Hawaiian food spots in OC…read more We did the triple teriyaki plate which comes with beef, chicken, and pork over rice with Cole slaw and Mac salad. The Mac salad was surprisingly delicious, I usually don't care for it but I ate the whole thing. The pork was a little tough honestly so I didn't eat more than a bite of that. The beef is super thin and tender, you can cut it with a fork. Chicken was nicely grilled and the teriyaki sauce had great flavor. Nice fluffy white rice underneath it all soaking up the teriyaki sauce. Good vibes inside, and good service. We will return!

They have picnic style tables that's divided with sauces so sharing table is pretty normal here. They also have a wall lined table so those were huge seating. Follow the marked signs to order inside. It was our first time so we asked what's good and she recommended the original plates. We decided to get Da Spicy plate that had 2 styles of fried chicken (guava chili pepper so flavorful and crispy Korean chicken- not horribly dry) and Da Roots that had ahi katsu shoyu tuna and Korean short ribs. Both were really good and came with macaroni salad and poke! Honestly it's what you crave for the day to mix and match which protein you want with the 2 sides of poke and macaroni salad. Lots of food. Delicious flavor. Will come back again!
