Best smash burgers!!! The sauce for the fries are amazing would definitely come back again

Ohhhhhh SNAP! I have been wanting to check out this food truck and finally got the chance. Pretty simple .... I walked up and they said they had a happy hour special going which was order two cheeseburgers and get a free fry. I'm game! but I added an order of chicken nuggets with smash sauce as my dipper. The order was up within a couple minutes cause they must of been getting ready foe the rush. A cheeseburger it was a double well done patty smashed so thin and bound together by some yummy American cheese. The super soft bun was topped with their smash sauce. It was good! The fries were crisp on the outside which I like. But my big surprise was those chicken nuggets... Usually I wouldn't order them but I have to say these are the best chicken nuggets I have ever had. Perfectly crunchy on the outside and seasoned just right. I dipped them in the smash sauce but they also have other dipping sauces. Smash sauce is like a fry sauce with less catsup and dill pickles/onions added. It's yummy! The happy hour deal is every day so check it out. I will be back! read more

This burger was amazing! MidCity is my new favorite Portland Burger Truck! I ordered an got the food fast. I admit I though the portions looked small, but they were crazy filling! The Deluxe Boi was bursting with flavor! It was fresh and cooked perfectly! The fries were nice and crispy and salted spot on! The strawberry shake looked little, but it backed BIG flavor! It was smooth and delicious! I know the truck just moved, so now I need to find the new location to satisfy my smash burger craving! Great food, great service! read more

My husband has been wanting to try one of these burgers for a long time. So we came to check out the pod for the first time. I actually ordered the Thai place next door, and my husband ordered two smash burgers from here. He also got a sushi burrito, and I'm super glad he did...because I ate half of one of his burgers. For a $5 burger, I wasn't expecting much. Most $5 burgers are pretty terrible, but these did not disappoint. First thing I noticed was these were not frozen burgers! Yay! Winning already. (Last cheap burger place we went to had perfectly round frozen patties.) And it had some cheese sauce or something that was awesome. I wish I had ordered one myself, but I didn't feel too bad eating half since he had a lot of other stuff to chose from. We had leftovers of the other stuff, but the burgers were gone. Haven't written a review in so long and kinda feel like a Karen buuuut. If you like this place, I'm happy for you. That said, I absolutely do not understand what's to like. Waited 30 minutes for two burgers and fries, went up to ask for it at which point they made it right in front of me in about two minutes. I know tipping culture is crazy but the lowest tip selection is 20%, and they didn't even have good attitudes, bring me the food, or provide free water or napkins. 2pm on a Saturday it took over an hour for my order. Server started to have an attitude after I saked if I was still in the queue, but I waited about 50 minutes before I asked. Told me I could go somewhere else, which I'm sure to do next time. The burgers are fine, but I didn't need the attitude and the server made sure to give others their orders before mine. So far out of the 2 smash burger spots I have tried this is the best. Still a bit wild a small burger is $9 these days but great burger not fry had all the fixings and the crispy s on the edge! So good! The location/ambiance is in a sketchy neighborhood but once your in the lot it's a cool vibe. The burger had lots of potential but unfortunately the vegan meat wasn't edible. It seems it was overcooked. I recommend cooking the vegan meat in less time since it's not real meat. I usually love vegan meat but this just wasn't cooked right. I did eat the bread with the veggies and sauce which was good. I was disappointed cuz I was craving it since I saw it on yelp. Burger was tiny and seemed over seasoned. 20 minute that was quoted turned into over 30. Staff was friendly. If you want a smash burger of this style go to Monster Smash there burgers and mashed enough to where it's like lace but has great taste and not over seasoned. Classic Portland food cart scene with good prices and fast service. The fries were crispy, the smash sauce respectable, and the burger quite tasty. I would say order the deluxe. The smash boi (which was only 6 dollars!) needed some pickle to balance the the bite texturally and in terms of flavor. The patties were undoubtedly smashed which gave nice flavor, but gets rid of some juice and just leaves that salty, beefy flavor. Yet another reason for that pickle or some more sauce. Ooooh yes! We had cheeseburgers, regular fries, Mr James Style fries, sides of smash sauce and ranch, and a chocolate shake. We picked up our order on a sunny day and headed to the park for a picnic! The burgers were yummy, the fries cooked perfectly, the Smash sauce was DELICIOUS! The guys working were super nice and seemed to have a good system and rhythm going as it got busier. Their process flow with the way we ordered at the window and picked up at the back of the truck was so smart! 4 out of 5 as the chocolate shake was ok. Super sweet for our taste.
