I was thrilled to finally find a bakery that offered salt bread in the Bay Area that I immediately beelined to it! I arrived as freshly baked goods were transferred from the back room to the front pick up area so I bought them as fresh as possible. I couldn't wait to sink my greedy little mouth into them and tore into the box the moment I paid! Honestly I was so disappointed that I wanted to immediately book a ticket to Korea. We bought all the salt bread variations (note there is a limit of 4 per person), they varied from dry to too oily. The salt bread was missing the buttery goodness you'd expect if a croissant and cross bun had a baby. Worth trying it once but if you've tried the gold standard in Korea (Jayeondoga), you may be disappointed. It just wasn't worth the calories here nor the hassle finding parking. Service was fine, it is self pickup/pay. There are some tables/chairs along with self serve ice water.

Came here around 3pm on a Thursday. We were eating next door. Since it's a weekday there was no limit which was nice. I got 4 bread and a strawberry lemonade. I was just telling my husband how I was craving a strawberry lemonade yesterday night. The universe is listening. The decor is really nice and they boxed up my breads. Lemonade is good. The one mentako bread we've tried so far is really good. edit: my husband had the garlic one - says its a bit sweet and has cream cheese inside? we had the regular - I honestly didn't think I would like it because I am not a pastry person but I get the hype now - it was done really well and well rounded flavors. would get the mentako and regular for sure. My daughter came home from school and finished my entire strawberry lemonade. I will have to get two next time.

I stopped by Milldang on a weekday afternoon and they still had so many salt bread options. I really really loved their garlic cream cheese one as it tasted exactly like the one I had in Korea. Their normal salt bread is good and would taste even better heated up! I did wish they had an oven to heat up things. It reminds me of a typical Korean bakery where you just pick out what breads you want and check out. Definitely coming back to try their other options.

This bakery is located near Hankook Supermarket. We were in the area yesterday, so we decided to stop by to try their bread. I've been hearing a lot about salt bread so I'm on a mission to try as many as I can (not really but kinda). We came at around 3:20pm. To note, they do have purchase limits for their salt breads. We got 2 classic ($3.75 ea), 1 mocha cream ($4.50), and 1 mentaiko ($4.75). The classic was decent; it tasted a little dull. However, I heated one up in the air fryer today, and it tasted a lot better compared to yesterday. It was buttery and slightly salty. The mocha cream was good. I don't have too much to say about it, as my bf ate most of this one. The mentaiko had a strong fish/seafood scent and flavor. It was definitely a contrast to the others. I liked it, but I wish I got the cream cheese instead.

Finally got to try this Korean Bakery. Their salted bread is one of the best because it's both salty and buttery. I also tried different pastries and they're good and reasonably priced. Just today, I tried their cute sausage pastry and i like the drizzle of ketchup on top. Their coffee roti bun is also good. I bought some to go and it tastes even better when heated. They have beautiful cakes too. It's good to have them as an option for small birthday cakes. I noticed most of the baked pastries are available closer to 9:30am. The best sellers and pre packed pastries are available earlier. They have drinks too. Got the Mocha today and it's decent. Will definitely be including this place as a breakfast go-to.

Before dinner my family and I stopped by this bakery. It is such a cute place with lots of options. We bought: Mentaiko bread Green onion cream Classic salt bread Red bean bread Green beans bread Total was about $20.50 for these. I really liked the Mentaiko bread. I'd love to stop by and try other options next time. Parking was easy to find.

What a cute little bakery! I came in for some salt bread and to buy a slice of cake for my birthday. Luckily even at 7:30pm in the evening there was still salt bread available. Decent sized parking lot but it was still quite full - we parked at the end of the lot against the perimeter. Overall, pleasant experience at the bakery and excited for a good salt bread!

My mom brought home a few buns from here! They are decadent. One was a savoury cream cheese filled, and the other had a cookie crust and was filled with cream. My mom said they were on the pricey side.

been wanting to try their famous salt bread ever since they opened. finally stopped by on a sunday afternoon a few months later. knew the fresh bakes come out at 9am and 2pm, so I wasn't expecting much when we arrived a little after noon. surprisingly, there were still plenty of options left. picked up the original salt bread, the garlic butter flavor, and a croissant. the croissant was pretty mid, but the salt bread absolutely lived up to the hype. soft, buttery, and worth the visit. there's a purchase limit of 2 original salt breads and 1 flavored bread per person. there was another flavor I wanted to try, but it had already sold out by the time we got there. parking can be chaotic in this plaza, but if you're lucky, there are a few designated spots reserved for milldang customers!

The salt bread lines are very real as a crowd of people all showed up at 2pm for the fresh batch of salt bread (yeah I was one of them too lol). They had some displayed in the serve yourself area, and they also had some behind the counter. There are limits to the amount you can buy. I feel like it was just okay, super bready and chewy. Very pretzel bread style imo. So doughy. Not the crispy, oily style I was hoping for. The way they pack them into the bag was ehh bc I feel like all the salt fell off my bread lol. The onion cream salt bread was flavorful, very onion-y flavor. Savory and filling. The regular breads were nice; the custard cream and the red bean bread were both filled up nicely. Maybe I like these even more than the salt bread lol. The red bean was tastier than the custard imo. The custard had a thick texture to it that was just alright, but the red bean was smooth and flavorful. Very enjoyable snack. The pain au chocolat was okay, not super crisp. Color was kind of light imo. The chocolate was good though. I probably would skip the croissant next time and just get some classic ol filled breads.

SO first of all I LOVE their salt bread - it's AMAZING! I've had many salt breads in Korea and this one is my absolute favorite. The texture of the outside and inside but the flavor - with the light hint of saltiness inside. I love it so much and keep raving about it to my sisters who live in SF. Unfortunately given they only drop new bread at 9am and 2pm AND they have a limit of 2 per person - I can never get any for them. There's NO WAY I will sacrifice mine to share! I will say - it's best FRESH - I've eaten one and saved the other for the next day. Microwaved it for about 10 seconds. Flavors were still there but texture definitely changes so definitely FRESH is best which is how it's eaten in Korea and honestly most things taste best fresh. I wish they would do special orders so I can share with my family. While I LOVE the bread I knocked it down a star due to the limitations - limitation on amount (which I do appreciate so everyone can get it BUT makes it hard to share with others) and the parking. It's right next to GIWA, as well as Master OH, both which are also very good and pretty popular. There's the other side of the which has TONS of openings but the businesses on the other side put up barriers and security so you don't park there. So if you go when it's busy it's pretty tough to park. I do love that each time you go they may have special baked goods - like a dubai bun which was okay and I do appreciate their creativeness. Their red bean mochi was pretty good - hubby loved that. So there are other breads you can get but the star is really the salt bread. PLEASE allow special orders - I would love to order and bring some to my family in SF. My sister goes on and on about how great the salt bread in Korea is and I keep telling her that Milldang is even BETTER than ones in Korea. Would love for her to eat her words!! LOL...

Salt bread drops at 9am and 2pm. We came around 1:40pm on a Saturday and we were the third party in line. They started letting us order around 1:50pm and by the time it was 2pm, the line was super long. They're pretty fast and efficient at getting everyone checked out and they hand you the bread immediately after paying at cashier. They limited 4 pieces per person when I came, and I got 2 classic salt breads, 1 garlic butter salt bread, and 1 mentaiko salt bread. My favorite was the garlic butter. Flavorful and has sweetness to it. I also liked the classic salt bread too which was simple but buttery and not overly salty. Mentaiko was a bit too dry and salty for my liking, would probably skip this next time. We also expected the bread to be fresh and hot especially since it was right after the drop, but they were room temperature and would've been 10x better if warm. Overall glad I tried once.

Quite expensive for such a small slice of cheesecake, but I will say it was very good. It's a great example of a Basque cheesecake--light and fluffy in texture with a slightly custardy center. There's a subtle almost-salty note (not quite salty, but close) that balances the sweetness really well. The top has that signature slight bitterness from the caramelization, which adds depth and keeps it from being too rich. Unfortunately, the salt bread was already sold out by the time we got there. Will definitely be back to try it next time.

The only critique I have is the music being way too loud at times. It's NOT what type of music is playing, but purely the volume. When it's loud, people talk louder and it can occasionally be a little too loud to focus without headphones. Otherwise, I think I've found my new fav local coffee shop!

It wasn't crazy busy so it was easy to order through one of their two tablets and find a spot to sit. It is very spacious and filled with many tables, so even when busy you'll likely be able to find a spot. The menu is a bit messy to look at--there is a big menu hanging over the kiosks, another posted alongside where a line is formed, then the menu on the tablet kiosks themselves. It's a pretty big menu featuring primarily coffee-based drinks, matcha lattes, and a wide variety of food, so you'll likely find something appealing. I ordered their smoked salmon bagel (which rang up to about $16) and their matcha latte ($8); to be honest, neither were outstanding. The salmon and avocado in the bagel were great, but the bagel itself was a bit stale--for $16, it's a bit hard to swallow. The matcha was very milky, and there is another store offering better matcha drinks in the same plaza. I'll admit, though, it's a little on me for not picking coffee at a spot with "coffee" in the name. I will say, though, that the atmosphere in the main area is pretty good; the decor is understated but comfortable, and the lighting is good. The service is also solid--the servers are friendly and our order came out quickly. I will say that the bathroom feels ominous. Overall, it's a great spot to study; Big Mug is open late, has free Wi-Fi and a bathroom for customers, and offers both food and caffeinated drinks for longer study sessions. I feel that the prices vary widely for items but skew towards being too pricy for the quality, at least from my limited experience. I plan on coming back to give other items a try, but for now, it's not a favorite.

It was near 5pm. I walked in and the place was empty. The gentleman behind the counter greeted me. I asked for a strawberry smoothie, then walked around to survey all the baked goods. It's a small bakery with lots of trays of individually packaged cakes and pastries. The smell was very pleasant and comforting. Using a flat basket (or tray) I grabbed a few selections. I picked 2 "Heart Pies" that resembled my favorite French Butterfly Cookies. Also 2 pound cakes. The total rang up to just over $21. There's some small tables for enjoying your purchases there, but I took my items to go. The icy cold fruit smoothie was very good and very cold! Not too sweet, it had a natural strawberry taste. The Heart Pies were good and fresh. But the Pound Cakes were probably "day old." I noticed there's no dates or "best by" tags on the packages. It's a nice place to visit, and I will return again.
