Mimi's has always been a stable breakfast spot. It's a little boujee compared to most in the area. The restaurant is fairly big, so almost every time I've gone...we've been seated immediately. They can even accommodate groups. The service is good. The staff are helpful & attentive. The menu has breakfast, lunch and dinner items. In my opinion, their muffins and egg Benedict's are standouts. The food comes out in a timely manner and the presentation is usually neat and pretty. The only down side is that they tend to be a bit pricier and their portions are slightly smaller than other places. At other breakfast places, I usually have a little leftover to bring home. But here I finish all my food. They practice COVID protocols with all the staff wearing masks & there is plexi glass in between each seating booth. read more

We entered the restaurant tonight in Elk Grove, CA, at 5:00 pm and stood near the unmanned hostess desk for close to 10 minutes. We were finally seated and I'd like to stress that all the staff we had interaction last with were polite and friendly. We specifically picked coming here tonight because my wife was looking forward to having the short rib as part of the Valentine special. The waitress who came to take our order informed us that the short rib was sold out...at 5:00 pm on a Saturday night??? Sounds like an order/inventory issue. We ordered our entree and an appetizer. Staff brought out our entree but we had never received the appetizer? She said she thought she saw it at the window and proceeded to bring it out. The spinach artichoke dip was over salted! My wife's pot roast was barely room temperature and my daughter's cheeseburger had unmelted cheese, the cheese was actually cold to the touch. We sent the burger patty back and it came back only slightly better. After a few bites it was apparent why...the burger was red rare inside. This was our Valentine treat and it was a massive disappointment. Short wrap up- staff was friendly but clearly short staffed at the beginning of dinner service. The food was bad and not having an advertised item available was disappointing. The interior of the restaurant needs some help...dingy carpet and tears in the booth seats. Enjoyed a great lunch today! First time my husband and I have been to this Mimi's Cafe. Our friend chose the place - excellent choice! All three of us had the Lunch Trio. Mt husband had the turkey sandwich with green salad. He said it was good. Our friend and I both ordered the tomato basil soup and 5 cheese grilled sandwich. Oh my gosh they were both so delicious! Oh and the third item was French fries. They were crispy and so good. Our server was super too! I totally forgot to take pictures. read more

This place is okay... I personally think it's over priced. Came her for brunch to celebrate my friends bday and it was packed. It was a Sunday and it was a 30-45 minute wait. For me it's not worth it. The food was okay. I think the best thing was the blueberry muffin.. it was nice and warm when I got it. I had the avocado bacon omelet.. nothing special. I actually thought there was going to be bacon bits throughout the omelette, but instead there was only two pieces so yah.. I prob won't come here again... nothing against them. We lost our Mimi's where we live so we were most excited to dine at the Mimi's in Elk Grove. Unfortunately, it was a sad experience for me & my daughter. We waited too long for service after we were seated. We ordered a turkey dinner and an oatmeal and they were brought in a timely manner, however, my daughter discovered a long, white hair in her turkey dinner plate. The server agreed there was a hair, took her plate and then brought us the check without the charge for her dinner. We never heard from anyone else. Lastly, the ambiance did not feel the same as when we had dined at that Mimi's in years past. We were crushed as we had been & still are loyal Mimi's patrons where we lived, in Modesto, in Pleasanton and Sacramento in addition to Elk Grove. read more

I love Mimi's!! I had to fast and "cleanse" for almost a whole day before some labs today. Afterward, I was suddenly so hungry, I wanted to eat everything, but with all the choices within close proximity, I was dying for a Mimi's bran muffin. I sat at the bar because it was just me, and as the bartender poured my water, she told an interesting bit of news that I appreciated, but I really appreciated her more than anything. It felt like the old days, when people were nice to people, spoke to each other like friends, whether they knew each other or not. At the same time, she embodied a certain paradox in the story she'd just relayed to me and, silently, and probably unconsciously, the antidote. All that over a bran muffin at Mimi's. Giving them one star is even too much. I ordered the veggie egg white omelet. It was extremely overcooked, basically burnt. I took two bites and let the waitress know that it wasn't edible. She offered ten percent off my bill, ten percent!! Unacceptable. Not to mention the booster sit was dirty and sticky. read more

We were honestly blown away by the food and the service. Both were amazing. Robert was our server. We were just a few minutes past the 2:00 brunch and mimosa special but he was able to get us mimosas anyways. Checked on us frequently and got an appetizer comped, really sweet! Definitely deserved a great tip and could absolutely get a gig at any one of the nice restaurants in midtown! My fiancé and I both ordered burgers. Mine was a veggie patty and his was ordered medium and cooked perfectly. Fries were great too! Overall, glad we stopped in. We will definitely be back! read more

One star is just too much!! I was trying to support my local restaurant by buying a Thanksgiving meal. Won't do this again!! Placed my order this morning, email came back saying they will email my confirmation. Never received a confirmation so I call Mimi's . Danny picks up, started off with a very rude tone, acted like my question was interrupting his day. When I asked if he can check on a order placed. He asked for the confirmation, I didn't remember receiving it via email, which is why I was calling. I asked if there was another way, he said yes but he would have to go through 450 names/ orders ( guess it was my fault I never received a confirmation). Acted like he was annoyed by my request to check on my order, made me feel like I was asking for too much. Told him I will call him back, I'll check my email again. Turns out, I never received any confirmation number or order info which brings me back to the reason why I called them the first place. Called again, Danny picked up told him I never received the confirmation number or my order info. I was already irritated by him and his overwhelming intelligence, which required him to go through 450 names anyways because the confirmation was never sent. It took a whole 30 seconds of his life to recover my order. At this point I was already done with this so-called manager that had no customer service skills. I requested my cancellation and confirmation. I will take my irritating self to another restaurant where I feel appreciated because they value me as a customer.
