This is probably more of a 4.5, but still great food. The negative 1/2 star is due to the server never coming back to check on our drinks or if we needed anything. They were also out of the St Michelle Riesling, one of the main reasons to come here. That aside, my pot roast was absolutely moist, tender, and delicious! Mimi's in Ocala is located by a very popular outdoor mall on 200 (College Road). There is plenty of parking available. I went for lunch with 2 other girlfriends. We were seated rather quickly and our server was very friendly and engaging. I ordered the trio choosing the French onion soup and grilled chicken sandwich on a baguette with fries. Had lunch here the other day. We chose this place because it was close to the Tesla charging station. We got a booth right away as we had missed the lunch crowd I guess. Our waitress was very friendly and quick to serve us. Hubby ordered the Brochette Trio appetizer for his meal and I ordered the cheeseburger on a brioche bun. My cheeseburger was very juicy and had a nice beefy flavor. The red onion was cut a bit too thick for my liking. The cheese was a nice cheddar slice and the brioche bun was tasty and fresh. My salad was a bit limp and dry if you can believe it. It consisted of spring mix, one cherry tomato cut into slices and two slices of cucumber and some croutons. The appetizer consisted of six skewers two of grilled chicken, two of shrimp, and two of ground beef topped with spicy peanut, teriyaki, and a red wine sauce. It was small even for an appetizer. It definitely was not enough food as a meal. The chicken skewers were a bit tough. Would not order that again. The restaurant is located in a plaza with plenty of parking. Used to love this place. TOTAL CULTURE CHANGE. I was so excited to take my fiance to Mimi's. I'd had a couple business lunches here before and always brought her home a muffin or 2. I told her how someone new usually gets a muffin for free, NO MORE. But the bread basket usually has a couple different breads with little samples of the sweet bread or muffins, NO MORE (3 oven-roasted slices of baguette only). But the service is always very nice and attentive, NO MORE (I actually had to grab a manager to ask her to have someone bring me my check). But the food is always solid, NO MORE (the worst croquet monsieur I have ever had, it was basically a soggy sandwich with limp greasy fries). Really truly, I once loved this place and was so excited to share a Sunday brunch/lunch with my fiance here. Now I'll never return. I wouldn't reccomend this place to anyone. Stopped in Mimi's for lunch today and it was palatable. I've had breakfast at a few locations now and still underwhelming to me. Our server, Andrew, was pleasant and attentive. I ordered the Pick 3 Mix & Match, enjoying the French Onion Soup, Black & Blue Salad and Fresh fruit. The salad was good, but a tad overdressed and the fruit cup was fresh. The French Onion was the star of the plate. It was packed with savory, delicious onions swimming in the piquant broth and a very cheesy, well seasoned, crunchy crouton baked on top. I have been to this restaurant several times. The food is reliably good. The quality of the ingredients is very good. Many of the dishes are basic and executed with care. I had a menu standard turkey plate. The potatoes au gratin were flavorful and actually cut and layered properly. The stuffing was moist and flavorful. The turkey was moist and the gravy didn't taste like it came from a packet. The vegetables were a little more cooked than I normally prefer. The place markets itself as a bakery. Such a nice family breakfast place! All the staff was so welcoming and accommodating! We arrived drowsy and tired from camping and wanting delicious food and great A/C (both wishes granted) I asked for an iced latte and it was wonderfully refreshing but not watered down! It was borderline creamy and with a few (or 4) sugar packets added, it was consumed throughout my entire meal! I regret not ordering another for the road! My main dish was the bacon and egg sandwich with a afew modifications! Instead of bacon, I asked for sausage and instead of scrambled eggs, I asked for sunny side up. The sandwich was good, 8/10! Just needed a little more seasoning of each individual component and it would have been a 10/10! Pictured are the smoked salmon eggs Benedict and the Pain Perdu with mixed berries! Can't vouch for the Benny since I myself did not try but I had a bite of the Pain Perdu and it was DELICIOUS! Light but fruity and sweet but not too much! Couple it with a nice coffee and yum! Both other meals were eaten completely! And our server was so nice and sweet! I regret not remembering her name but her purple glasses matched her purple pen and she was serving our table directly left of the entrance, the booth by the window! I ordered the Monterey Omelet (bacon, Monterey Jack cheese, and avocado), which came with home fried potatoes, a fresh muffin and juice. The omelet was delicious (I hear breakfasts are always exceptional at Mimi's). Coffee was extra. The coffee was actually the worst coffee I've ever tasted and evidently I wasn't the first person to say that. I believe they were trying a new brand? The charge for the coffee was removed from my bill. Mimi's has a breakfast, lunch and dinner menu, and serves liquor to boot. Service was fast and pleasant. Will be back for lunch or dinner! Decent spot for a family meal close to where the parental units live. We came here the other week for breakfast when I was visiting. More than enough on the menu to keep everyone happy. Fun decor with a New Orleans theme. I liked sitting in the "jazz room" over the other dining area that was more subdued. The place is has a comfortable vibe, clean, with decent service. Bar area up front by the lobby / waiting area. Outside patio seating too. Breakfast menu consisted of your standard omelets, crepes, quiche, pancakes, muffins, french toast, juice, coffee, and assorted bakery items. Reminds me of a chain restaurant menu or glorified diner. I had the Pumpkin Spiced Pancake Breakfast - pumpkin spiced pancakes topped with caramel cinnamon apples. Came with two eggs and choice of meat (bacon, of course), and juice. All for $8.99 so it's a really good deal. Tasted ok overall and the pancakes were really good. Still, it's like a Denny's kind of meal, which was fine by me as it was cheap too. Came to Mimi's after trying another restaurant and it being packed. I'm happy I did because I had a decent dinner at a decent price! There was plenty of parking out front. It was not busy at all for a Saturday at 7pm and we were seated right away. They gave us a basket of bread and I ordered the NY strip steak with green beans and their spinach. The veggies were good and the steak cooked exactly how I liked it. We got her food quickly and left within the time the other restaurant said it would take to even be seated. read more

Not my first time here! Mimi's is pretty popular in Ocala as a go to breakfast and lunch spot. It can get pretty crowded with lots of regulars dining frequently. I've never had a bad experience here but it's not my first choice. I brought my family here after my sister's graduation for brunch. Most ordered the chicken and waffles but I ordered the french toast. We all sampled the pineapple upside down muffin and let me just tell you, it's worth EVERY calorie!! It doesn't even taste like a muffin. It's served warm and tastes like the most perfect piece of pound cake you've ever had. Sheesh. My sister had to stop me from ordering more because I was super tempted to. My breakfast was solid, nothing spectacular. The other members of my party who got the chicken and waffles said the consistent of each did not pair well together like traditional chicken and waffles. Our service was great and efficient. Tom opted for lunch...he ordered a mushroom/brie/burger...he was disappointed because there was so little brie on his burger that he thought they forgot to put it on.
