REVIEW FOR THANKSGIVING DINNER PACKAGE Honestly, I only like breakfast at Mimi's. However, for the past couple of years I've been ordering the Thanksgiving feast and the Christmas feast. I love it! $120 or so +tax to feed 8-10 people is awesome!!! I'd spend more buying everything separately Everything comes out delicious and very easy to warm up I only need enough for 6 so we have tons of leftovers. It comes out perfect every time and I always get compliments at our dinners! I add a salad, bread rolls, corn, some veggies and fruit BAM!!! A mixed bag. First the positive. The food was good to very good. I had breakfast for dinner and my wife had a salad that she really liked. Now for the negative, my eggs were served cold and I had to ask twice for salt and pepper. My toast was very good but it arrived too late for the over-easy eggs, a major no no. I'm sad to say that I will no longer be eating at Mimi's cafe in the future. My experience yesterday was less than satisfying. The salad I received had wilted lettuce and old cucumbers and I asked for a new one. I was told that all the lettuce was like that and would I prefer Romaine? I declined and they replaced it with soup, which was lukewarm. I was also seated near the soda station and I could smell a sulfur like odor coming from the dishwasher. Bad plumbing. Diners beware! This place is a waste of money. I ordered meatloaf, which was dry and spongy. The mashed potatoes tasted stale and dry. All the food was way over salted. Mimi's has always been good, but this time they really screwed up. Our waitress was HORRIBLE! We placed our order almost 30 minutes ago and nothing yet, then she blamed it on the kitchen. On top of that, a couple that got seated before us not only got their food, but they're almost done eating! And the manager is nowhere to be seen. The food was great, not the best in my opinion. The place was completely empty (not to complain), but it felt like a ghost town. I was reading other reviews and from what I remember, some famous menu items have either been discontinued/quality has decreased. I wasn't a big fan of the chicken tenders. Probably something I can pick up from Ono Hawaiian BBQ. The bite size sourdough bread weren't great either. I forgot to snap the waffles (those were good), but everything else has definitely changed since I've last visited a Mimi's Cafe. Service was definitely great however. May visit in the future for a second opinion about this restaurant. read more

3.5 Stars I've been dining at Mimi's since 2005. I loved their bread, muffins, chicken strips and salads. Depending on which Mimi's you go to, the service has been hit or miss. My husband and I have been on a hiatus from Mimi's for a few years and missed eating there so we came to the one located on Foothill Blvd in RC. Note that there is no entrance along Foothill Blvd! We were heading east on Foothill and totally drove right past it and were like "where's the entrance?!" It's located in the Rancho Cucamonga Business Park and you have to enter from Spruce Avenue. We arrived just before 5PM on a Wednesday and there was plenty of parking. As we were approaching the front door, two of Mimi's staff opened the door for us with a nice warm welcome and we were seated immediately. As others have mentioned, our server Dean told us upfront that their menu has changed. I did notice that their food items are now listed in a mishmash of English and French. (e.g. Petite Seafood Crêpe, Les Artichokes Frites, Grilled Salmon Salade Niçoise) I guess they are trying to be more "French" and highlight dishes like the Coq au Vin, Bistro Bavette Steak, French baguettes, French onion soup, French sauces...etc. They took off many customer favorites like Pot Roast, Meatloaf, Fish & Chips, Asian Chopped Salad... just to name a few. Apparently this caused a bit of an uproar amongst regular customers who wanted these items so they brought them back. You'll notice they have a separate black menu with the items they originally took of and brought back. I'm kind of bummed that they don't have their chicken strips anymore. The breading on those was awesome. We ordered: $2.79 - Strawberry Lemonade $2.59 - Raspberry Iced Tea (unsweetened) $13.99 - Fish & Chips $8.99 - Bleu Cheese, Walnut & Strawberry Salade $2.79 - Add grilled chicken to salad Includes - Blueberry Muffin Includes - Honey Oat Muffin ========================================== TOTAL $33.64 For my salad, I substituted feta cheese since I don't care for blue cheese. When our meals came out, our server brought me the Pot Roast instead of my salad. Wow that dish looked and smelled awesome! LOL, but he apologized and quickly brought my salad out. My husband said he wants to order the Pot Roast next time LOL. Dean checked on us often with refills ready at hand and quick to take away empty plates. He also offered another basket of freshly baked bread, but we were already so full. OMG Went to dinner tonight and what happen to Mimi's?? We walked in and the place was EMPTY. I remember when this place was the spot and u had to wait sometimes just to get in. I was looking forward to the Corn Chowder Soup and the Honey Bran Muffin and boy was I disappointed. I ordered a bowl of soup which came out in a little cup, I remember when they use to bring it out in a nice SIZE BOWL and the muffin was included. Now I paid separate for both and I remembered the muffin use to be BIG with the top hanging over. Mine was hard it seemed like a day old and boy did it get smaller too. What happen to the bread they use to serve at the table? They had these little sourdough bread bite size, that weren't that tasty either. Bonjour Voila...we entree into the restaurant and zee waitress quickly seats us... Coffee is quickly brought to our table as well as warm bread. We begin to order our food and the place is packed... O f course from past experiences, we expected the worst case scenario...but, Aaaah mes ami......zeee food is so much better... I ordered corn soup (smaller then a coffee cup) =$4.95 I also ordered Mahi Mahi and of course someone ate the other half... Why are the portions so small and the prices so high? I've eaten here at least 8 times now and the only thing I really liked is the 5 way grilled cheese sandwich. The meal I liked the least is the French Dip Sandwich. The service is always pretty good. I gave it only 3 stars because the food is just okay. read more

Had reserved the back room for a baby shower this past weekend. I worked with Omar the manager to reserve the room and menu. He was so helpful and kind. He did everything we planned on. I've been a customer of the Mimi's Cafe chain since the early 1990's, when l worked in Torrance, CA, & frequented the cafe nearest the airport. Then, l enjoyed the ambience, service & generous portioned & great tasting food. I particularly enjoyed their Pot Roast. Back then, I was once informed by a server that originally Mimi even used to focus on hiring aspiring models as waiters and waitresses. My current review isn't just on the cafe in Rancho Cucamonga, but a general survey of the chain as l have dined, in recent years, at many of their different locations. It appears that the chain's overall food quality has in my opinion, from years prior, declined. The variety of different meals l and my wife have selected just doesn't measure up to quality and taste from years passed. For one, the French Dip sandwich has now just a few slices of beef in a bread roll, - completely different as depicted in the menu picture (piled with beef). When l asked the server if l could order additional beef, l was informed that the meal is already pre-prepared and can't be altered. Pre-prepared?, l questioned, as in already pre-measured and just heated & served - l was informed. A second example of a dissatisfied experience occurred on a later visit with their pre-made heat & serve food, - l ordered the slow-roasted turkey dinner, along with side selections of au gratin potatoes, and french fries. When served, l found only (3) meager slices of white Turkey meat, and the au gratin potatoes hot & warm on the outside but with the inside contents still ice-cold. The fries were okay. I could describe other less than satisfying experiences, but after periods of long breaks, my wife & l do return with the hope that the food quality in terms of preparation would have improved. Each time, we do try different items. My wife and l do find the service provided by the server/bartender "Mary" at the Rancho Cucamonga store to be outstanding. read more

I came to visit on a Sunday afternoon and as expected it was a bit busy because of limited outdoor seating (but there's a wait everywhere nowadays) I ordered the trio lunch special and got the baguette chicken sandwich, fries, Salad and Ofcourse a raisin nut muffin on the side. Our food came out quicker than expected. The sandwich was decent, fries were nice and warm, the muffin was tasty, but the greens in my salad were wilted. So I'm knocking off a star because my salad wasn't entirely fresh. It's one of the only Mimi's Cafe on Foothill Blvd in Rancho so it's worth a try. read more

I always love coming into Mimi's Cafe. My mom and I usually enjoy coming in before a day of paying bills and running errands together. If you register to receive email then you can score on great coupons. We typically get their breakfast, I believe all the breakfasts come with a mouth watering muffin. Although they don't have any flavor creamer and just carry half and half you you ask for a flavor shot such as caramel, hazelnut, or French vanilla. If you tend to sleep in or just can't manage to make it in for breakfast don't sweat, they have have a pretty epic lunch special. And I do have to say that they pretty much have the worlds best French onion soup. I never had anything here that I didn't enjoy. read more

Food was terrible. Had a Florentine quiche with potatoes. Potatoes were dry and seemed like they were sitting out all day. Chicken tenders and French fries were so bad that my son wouldn't eat them.
