Had a late lunch today. Food was so so. Wait time was ridiculous considering no one was there. Used my buy one get one coupon. We had 3 alcoholic beverages. Server charged us $3.79 each for two non alcohol beverages because the coupon said must order two beverages. Really???? Do you not think the company made more $ on the alcohol and she didn't need to charge for beverages we didn't want? Won't be going to Mimi's ever. No wonder they are closing restaurants left and right. read more

This Mimi's is one of my favorite ones, (we also like the V.Ville & Fontana stores). Some of my family came from out of town on sat morn to join us at this Mimi's & we had a fantastic time. Our server was Courtney, & she is such a wonderful, sweet young woman. She greets us by name, knows what we like, & took just as good care of the rest of our family visiting. They even said that to us: "what a good, fast & friendly server she was." Thanks Cort for a job always well done!!! Also I want to mention some of our other regular servers; Daniel, Wendy, Cassy, Laurie, Diana, Brenda, Samaya, Seline, Michelle Alexia, Katie & Adrian!! All of these servers have special qualities, great personalities & we love them all. Keep up the great service!!. The beautiful hostesses; Kelsey, Sierra, Erica & the others I can't remember names are so welcoming & doing a great job. We also want to mention the cleaning staff, always present and working so hard, they are such good guys & we miss Angel he was the best!!. Always a great job and please tell them for us. We'd also like to mention the kitchen staff putting out the food and standing behind making the customers happy & full!! We are sure it's not an easy job to do. And last the management team leader "Nancy", who has always been very present on the floor and checking on the whole store operation! She definitely knows a few customers by name but treats everyone the same. She's a great, hard working leader & she definitely sets the store pace!. Do not waste your time going here. The bread they brought to the table was stale. Seemed like it was a couple of days old. Had the same problem with bread that came with the spinach artichoke dip. The bread was hard and stale. It wasn't even edible. The meat loaf was bland and the vegetables were over cooked. The other items ordered by us were mediocre at best. It was definitely a waste of time going here. We've been to other Mimi's locations and have never had this problem. SAVE YOUR MONEY! Earlier this year after a change of new ownership we noticed that quality has been sacrificed to save a dime. Apparently someone at corporate made a decision to change vendors and what was once our favorite place for soup has become the last place we would go for good soup. I can't speak about any other change to the rest of the food because we have not returned since our last visit 6 months ago. The last time I went to Mimi's was many year ago. Way back when I had a fantastic experience so I opted to try it out again. I don't really have a lot to complain about, but it just wasn't great. Everything was Just Mediocre. The artichoke dip tasted like it was frozen and microwaved. The tortilla chips were tasteless. The menu seemed much smaller. My husband ordered the special which was shrimp and scallops on a skewer. The shrimp tasted over done. I had salmon with shrimp and baby potatoes. The salmon was okay, nothing to write home about. The baby potatoes were tender and delicious. The service was okay as well. She could be attentive but was also forgetful about filling drinks and whatnot. All in all. Not a fantastic visit. Mediocre Cobb salad at best. We waited at least 5 minutes to be seated and they were even busy at 11 am. It was like everyone saw us and just walked by. Finally seated, I ordered the Cobb salad without bacon or eggs, but I knew my server wasn't listening and of course it came out with bacon and eggs. As they were remaking my salad a mysterious order of fries were brought to our table. Then the remade salad comes and it has hardly any blue cheese or tomatoes. What the heck? I gave you back the bacon and eggs, give me more of the other! I didn't realize it came with chicken and luckily I don't eat meat or I would have sent that back to. The chicken looked seriously inedible, unlike any chicken I have seen before. Entirely gross. It gets two stars because my friend loved her chicken cordon blue sandwich, and it actually did look quite tasty. read more

This place was packed on father's day! I mean packed! We had to wait 45 minutes for a table for four, so good thing they had free coffee and spiced loaf out and a bar that sold beer and wine! Two Heinekens and two Corona Lights please! Their muffins here are amazing. Truly amazing. It is what made my dad and mom want to come here. Just for the muffins. If only the rest of their food stood up to the quality and taste of the muffins, this place would be unstoppable. I got their french onion soup which was smaller than I thought it would be by far. But pretty good overall. I mean you can't go wrong with melted cheese really. I also got their new crab fritters off of their new smaller plates menu, and these just tasted fried. The sauce it came with was really good, but the fritters themselves really didn't taste anything like crab and artichoke and the fries underneath it were just fries. My brother got their mini bbq pork sliders which were pretty darn big for sliders in my book and he was pretty content with those. But his fish tacos, although they did have avocado on them, were just so so. My dad's bbq chicken salad was HUGE too, but it was mainly big because there was so much chopped lettuce. More chopped lettuce than I think most farm animals could eat. And my mom got one of their breakfast omelets with avocado, bacon and tomato and she was really liking hers, although I thought her eggs were a little on the overcooked size when I stole a bite. All in all, just an average chain breakfast/brunch spot. But if you do come here, their carrot and honey grain muffins are the best things by far!! read more

Mimi's used to be a theme restaurant, and while they still have French-inspired decor items, the menu no longer has any geographical or ethnic orientation. Sad- because when they were French-Cajun, etc ., it was an interesting place to go. Now it's just grilled chicken sandwiches, mainly on chiabatta buns,, pasta and all those other cutesy items everyone has. All sorts of bizarre salads. They still have quiche and onion soup but they're lost in the shuffle now. Good, though. Go to Mimi's for what t is and not for what it used to be. Prices approximate $10 for most items, with chicken pot pie at almost $12. A bit pricey for my purse. read more

Mimi's food and service has always been good, but this morning, we found out they no longer allow dogs on the patio. The only mention is a tiny sign on the front door. I suppose it's a liability issue, but we took the dog last month with no problem. So this is my only complaint. No more breakfasts on the patio with the dog. Went for breakfast and have never experienced such bad service. After waiting for 15 minutes to be seated, we were never greeted at our table. People who were seated AFTER us were brought drinks, and orders taken in the time frame that we waited. It is very obvious that this location is under new management, and they are on the path to losing many repeat customers due to their lack of service. The management staff that was present were lame, and had no business in management. They apologized for the long wait and for no one coming to serve us and offered us some muffins to go!!!! "REALLY! Keep your muffins, and we will take our business elsewhere!" We drove all the way to the Mimi's in Fontana, and what a world of a difference! Omar was our waiter, and I spoke with Nick, the manager to let him know that his management skills show, from the ladies at the hostess stand, to the service of the staff. Went again over the weekend and I was disappointed. We had to wait 8 minutes to be seated because no one was at the hostess station. Finally was seated by a server to a booth that had torn seats, I felt like I was sitting in a hole. The food was just not good like I remembered it. The taste was bland. The cost for 4 sandwiches and a soup and 2 soft drinks and 2 waters was $63! Sorry Mimi's you were good in your day but not any longer. A remodel of the furniture is needed and the food menu. 4.5 This place is great, showed up on a Saturday around 9am waited for about ten minutes. The food is always well prepared and presented. The veggie and egg whites was full of flavor. The staff is always friendly and they come and check up on you often. Their muffins are really good, you can't go wrong on any of their muffins. Really awful experience today. I understand it is Thanksgiving but I placed my order two hours in advance. One omelet and 2 turkey dinners. Waited 40 minutes after the time I had asked to pick up my food (12:30). I paid and my order was supposed to be ready, just to be told they forgot about my omelet. My turkey dinners had turned into soup by that point and they forgot my toast(I realized when I got home) No sorry, no anything. Everyone else received their order and I was not helped at all. I worked as a waitress for many years, I know when an order is forgotten not backed up because of a busy kitchen. At least ab acknowledgement of the mistake would have been nice, not just 'sorry, we're busy' otherwise you should have had more staff in the floor. Thanks for my turkey potato soups. read more

This was my second time visiting Mimi's and I was very impressed with the quality of the breakfast and the healthy alternatives on the menu. As a professional traveler, and pro-eater, you will be amazed how some folks can make a simple, basic breakfast of eggs, toast, and bacon taste absolutely butt nasty.I was quite impressed and service was very good. I get the impression this Mimi's (or maybe that is all restaurants that serve breakfast) has a large senior citizen following. They were all hanging out and chatting and doing crap that old, retired people do. I need to keep this spot on my list for breakfast when I travel. read more

After several months of not patronizing Mimi's Cafe because of our disappointment with the new menu, we ended up there when it was my son's turn to choose where we should eat. Being a Friday night, I was prepared to have at least a little bit of a wait when we arrived but it was dead. Not a good sign. With 3/4 of the restaurant empty, the hostess chose to seat us next to the kitchen. Normally, I would ask to be reseated, but I wasn't in the mood. With the restaurant so empty, you would think our waitress would be attentive and on top of things, but that wasn't the case at all. She was unable to answer basic questions about the menu and instead of saying she would check, she just stood there, mouth agape, until we asked her to check. 10 minutes later, she finally returned to answer our questions. We decided to start with an appetizer and drinks while we decided on our entrees. The appetizer was undercooked and when we asked for a second Perrier, she only brought a second glass. Our bread arrived as an afterthought and we weren't given plates to place our bread on, so the four of us had to awkwardly try to hold our bread while looking at the menu. In fact, every time we spoke with the waitress to ask a question or order an item, it was at least 10-15 minutes before she came back. When our food finally arrived, they brought the adults' entrees first, then my older son's and didn't bring my younger son's at all. When we asked about it, the waitress went to the kitchen to "check on it" but, being next to the kitchen, we could hear the entire conversation and she had never placed his order with them. When she finally brought out his food, his kids meal broccoli was covered with raw minced garlic. Broccoli is his favorite food and he refused to touch it because it smelled so awful. The rest of the entrees had clearly been sitting under the heat lamp a little too long because the sauces were congealed and the fish was dry. Our waitress was MIA through most of our meal, didn't ask if we wanted refills on our drinks or if we wanted dessert. I can understand why we didn't see her, though. As I mentioned, we were seated next to the kitchen, and throughout our entire meal, we could hear her, the manager, and other staff members in the kitchen, gossiping and talking crap about the customers and their co-workers. Unless serious changes are made to bring back the much loved old menu and to improve the quality and professionality of the staff, I seriously doubt we will be going back. read more

Dining here with my mom was a pleasant experience. We were seated in a booth in the back room after a one minute wait, and our waitress Lori was very friendly. We were provided with 2 crusty rolls in the bread basket and our drinks. I ordered the pot roast with mashed potato. It was quite tasty, if a bit soupier than I remembered, but I hadn't been to a Mimi's in over 5 years. The portion size was VERY generous; this was my lunch and I did not feel hungry the rest of the day. My mother ordered the meat loaf and was happy as well. We used to go to a Mimi's location that was closer to us but it closed. I missed the quaint ambience, so I when I found this location I was excited to try it out and was not disappointed. I love all the brickwork, the flower garden outside tops any restaurant's bland landscaping (note: there are some tables outside), and the French chairs and French artwork are charming. We will come back another time, and hopefully be seated in the room with the soaring ceiling as it used to be my mom's favorite at the old location. read more

I recently came here with a couple co workers for breakfast. I ordered the Bacon, Tomato, Avacado omelet. It was good but the bacon , avacado and tomato were just sitting on top of the omelet. I like Mimi's, it's a good standby, but I feel that the prices are a bit high for what you get. I got the Chinese Chicken Salad (Asian Salad- whatever) you get it... added a soup to it, and it comes w/ a big muffin, which are good, not great. I don't know why people die for their blueberry muffins, my friend got one and it looked rather dry and untasty to me. The salad was great, had to get more dressing, but it was really good. As always, their corn chowder was really yummy and hit the spot. Rich and thick with chunks of potatoes and corn. Word to the wise, they serve margarine w/ their muffins. When I arrived at the restaurant to pick up my order, they had no record of my order, weren't willing to make my order, and told me that they couldn't process a refund for my online purchase because no one in the restaurant knew how to do that. The worst take-out experience that I have ever had at any restaurant, and I am still trying to figure out how to get my money refunded. Easily the worst restaurant that I have ever been to. So disappointed, this was always a "go-to" for lunch. We opted for a late lunch and still had to wait to be seated, once seated we had to wait to be served. When we finally ordered we ordered soup and a sandwich which was an easy enough order, however that took a long time to come as well. They even managed to mess up the iced tea. I get lots of discounts in my email box for 2 for 1 or free muffins...Good part my kids get free meals here from there school if they get good grades or receive an award...I have lots of free kids meals that I need to use up:-) I never had any any bad service here. read more

Mimi's Cafe is one of the more classier resturaunts in Rancho Cucamonga. The employees wear bow ties, menus are encased in quality plastic, and the resturaunt puts out no advertisements (I know this because my I had a friend who worked there). The resturaunt seems to be the place to go on a Sunday afternoon or even a friday night. Yet, exclusive seating and quality food have it's adverse affects on the wait time. Prices are on the higher side of what I would call moderate. The food is good, however, not as good as it is priced. Perhaps 90% of what it is priced at is what I would pay for the food. Expect to pay about 25-30 bucks for two. The service is great, as the resturaunt is switchin' out employees like socks. This keeps fresh new people waiting on you, who aren't really tired of their job yet. All in all, definately a resturaunt I would go to, and definately worth checking out. read more

Today-things were Fantastic!! First, we missed the lunch rush so that's a huge plus!! We still wince at the memories of when Quality went downhill fast here at our favorite 'french' influence cafe..so we decided to give them another lunch time try. We tried new items on the menu- the summer lunch skewers- scallops & salmon- were very tasty!! The salad that comes with is so yummy! We also decided to try the New appetizer, the baked Brie, apples , Baguette and chutney-we were NOT disappointed! Hubby had the chicken pot pie and found it very hearty! Our server, Omar, was very attentive( albeit new I suspect to the service game) and very timely with our dishes coming out Hot which I love!! This particular location has definitely made great improvements since our dismal experiences in the recent past. Highly recommend!! read more
