    Steak and Potatoes - eh
    Wendy L.

Mimosa Grill in Uptown Charlotte sounds like a breakfast / brunch spot but I actually came out here for dinner with our business partners. It accommodated our large party and we were seated in a rather spacious area. The service we received from our server was excellent. She brought out all the appetizers and entrees we ordered, as well as the bottles of red and white wines including some fancy cocktails. I stuck with a simple dish of meat and potatoes but envied the "prettier" dishes my colleagues ordered. While the presentation of my dish was lacking, the flavor was good. Texturally, the meat was a tad bit overcooked for my liking. I did enjoy the olive oil cake for dessert. And the smoked fish dip was okay. The ambiance is what makes this restaurant a favorite. The building outside of Mimosa Grill was beautiful walking in but even more gorgeous at night with the dark skies and bright lights from the building. Overall, Mimosa Grill was able to cater to our large group while providing excellent service. I had a wonderful experience thanks to our server!

Came here last week for a private party dinner. The restaurant was pretty quiet and the service was okay. Food was great but they were pretty strict about no substitutions. It's possible I would come back. For a Friday night, it wasn't very busy. Most of the food I had was good but the salad was bland and really lacked flavor. Definitely had to ask for salt and pepper! Steak was good!

The service here was excellent! The food was alright. Everything seemed locally sourced. The portions were not big. What stoodout was the garlic and herb focaccia bread, because it's not only baked but then grilled with sear marks and so soft and chewy. It looked like more than just bread. Came for dinner and like the name no mimosas in the evening lol. I didn't like the pumpkin flan the flavors pairing with the smoked pumpkin croutons didn't wow me. Overall worth the try while in Charlotte.

This is an upscale restaurant to go for a special occasion. I went here with a few co workers for lunch to celebrate a new job. We were seated quickly on the outside patio (which is nice). Our server quickly got our drinks and order. I got a chicken sandwich and wanted to add cheese with the sweet potato chips. My coworkers got salad bowls. My sandwich didn't have cheese on it, but it was delicious and so were the chips. We were in and out quickly. Our bill was ~$70 for 3 people for lunch. I would come back for another occasion.

Food was delicious and service was good. Our waiter, Chuck, was very helpful and attentive. Yelp shows it as a $$ but I feel that it's more like $$$. The restaurant is very nice and it was pretty quiet since it wasn't busy when we went.

Everything we got was delicious. The food was seasoned perfectly, nothing was overpowering including the sweet tea that has a lemon splash. We were surprised that the restaurant was so quiet on a Saturday night. The location is very nice, we sat outside & enjoyed the weather and the downtown scenery without being overwhelmed by what non restaurant gowers were doing. The staff was pleasant, food came fast and we felt the two course dinner special was a great price for the beautiful presentation & meals. We'll have to visit again!

Sat outside on the patio. Our server was really nice and reccomended us a mocktails since it was lunch time- best mocktail ever! Cucumber and refreshing. I ordered the fish- very light yet flavorful.

    Must try..

We came by on a quiet Friday night with a larger group. The place has been a mainstay of Charlotte and there's a lot to like in it. The service though struggled to get drink orders right, to get water refilled and the other little things. That's a shame because I enjoyed the food. We started with so much of apps. The crab and pimento cheese puppies were a highlight. Some of the others weren't great for sharing. The shiwhito peppers could've used a bit more in the oven to tenderize them. But the relish board had a nice mix of cheeses and pickled vegetables. I got the market fish with a red snapper. The fish was a little on the smaller side but it was tender and quite good. The collard greens weren't advertised but were a good classic version with bacon. The desserts were fine. The chocolate banana cheesecake wasn't my favorite. The topping on it just felt more nutty than advertised and well maybe it was me. Overall, a good meal with reasonable prices.

The meatloaf was moist and cooked to perfection, as were the broccoli and mash potatoes with gravy. The fried chicken was crispy and moist. But I have to say the star of the show for me was the Asian Crunch salad! Fresh, flavorful, savory with bits of sweet and tons of texture. We'll be going back for another date night her soon!

The first time was in November 2025 and 2nd time March 2026 where the bartenders were professional, welcoming, knowledgeable, and made some of the best Bloody Marys we've had in Charlotte. The food was excellent, and we left both times excited to come back. Unfortunately, this Sunday's visit (around 2 p.m.) felt like a different restaurant. It was much busier, and service was noticeably lacking. We waited quite a while just to be acknowledged, our drinks weren't nearly the quality they had been before, and the Bloody Mary tasted like it came straight from a mix instead of being handcrafted like our previous visits. The food was also disappointing. It was much saltier than we remembered, and we never received the Caesar salad with steak we ordered. To the staff's credit, it wasn't on our bill, so we didn't mention it. Overall, no one was rude, but the attention to detail, professionalism, and overall experience that earned our previous five-star reviews just wasn't there this time. We're hoping this was simply an off day because we genuinely loved this place and would like to see it return to the high standard that made us regular customers.

Set in a charming old home, the aesthetic is incredibly welcoming with a quaint downstairs bar, a gorgeous outdoor patio, and cozy seating upstairs--there truly isn't a bad seat in the house. The staff and service are always exceptional, which only adds to the amazing experience. They offer daily specials alongside a rotating and standing menu, making every visit unique. There are so many standout dishes that it can be hard to choose, but my ultimate go-to is the seared ahi tuna salad. I don't know how they make that sesame and shoyu dressing, but it is one of a kind! I also highly recommend the hummus, the baked marinated Vermont goat cheese, "The Usual," and any of their steak options. Definitely don't skip dessert! On my last trip, I tried the strawberry shortcake, and it was divine. The goat cheese and cherry cheesecake and the rotating sorbets are also phenomenal. If you're grabbing a drink at the bar, be sure to check out their signature Matilda Wong, though they also make a stellar dirty martini!

The food is over the moon delicious with plenty of options and reasonable serving sizes. Even with the slightly high price point, it is well worth every penny. And they take allergies SO seriously! Literally went through a bunch of ingredients to find what would and wouldn't be dairy-allergy safe. Atmosphere is fun but cozy, too. 100% recommend! In-depth: Postino has quickly become one of my favorite places in the CLT area after my 10/10 experience here. To start, the food. My word, it's amazing! Everything my friend and I tried was delicious. The bruschetta is 100% worth trying (the spinach artichoke one is my favorite), and the west coaster panini + romaine salad was tasty at every bite. Their wine is also good quality, with a decent-sized portion poured. Allergy safety is a major thing for them, too. Our server (Lee = the best waitress!) and her manager looked through their bread and ingredients for about 30 minutes to confirm what was and wasn't dairy safe (I asked how dairy allergies are handled for when I bring my husband next time). They also had quite a few gluten-free options, too. The manager explained that she wants people to be able to just come in and relax for a few hours without worrying if they'll get sick, which I truly, truly appreciate. Lee shared a similar sentiment, which was amazing. Now price... Yes, it is a *bit* pricey, but it is well worth it. Nothing felt lacking as far as flavor goes, and the allergy safety is a huge thing. This is one of the few places I felt my sandwich and salad were worth every penny, even if it was $17. Also, their rewards program is great. I got a free bruschetta board, and they offer several other perks. Make sure to sign up before or while dining there to get some good deals! In addition to their sincere care for allergy safety, the service is fantastic all around. They do group service, meaning you'll have several servers, and they encourage you to grab anyone if you have questions. This takes the pressure off of waiting for one server to walk by and really helped me relax. And the atmosphere? I could stay there all day! It's a really fun vibe, but the lighting and seating are very cozy. Overall, I've already recommended this place to 5+ people and will be returning soon

The most memorable was the whipped feta. OMG. The Ambiance was the only thing I feel could use some tuning as there's not enough sound deadening to make the music out?
