First of all, thoroughly impressed by their many and delicious side dishes, crucial to every Korean restaurant and meal! My grandma wanted to come here cause she heard they're really good with a special soup that uses perilla leaves. She got this with sujaebi. Wanting something cold, I cold the bean noodle soup. The bean noodles were refreshing and definitely tasted healthy. Next time I need to add more salt for flavor. But my grandma's sujaebi was unique and really good. After seeing the high ratings we decided to check out this place on a cold day. Parking is in a shared parking lot but there is additional parking in the back of the strip center. It was a ten minute wait and the place is small but everyone dining was Korean which was a good sign. We tried the clams and hand pulled noodle soup which was delish, octopus bibimbap and the beef Ssam bap which included lots of veggies to wrap your protein. The portions were generous and quality of the banchan was solid too. I would definitely return to this authentic Korean eatery again. read more

A little hole in the wall of a restaurant with pretty darn good, authentic Korean food. My favorite is vegetable bibimpop on hot stone pot. ~$20 for one dish is a common place these days with an incredible inflation happening everywhere. The side dishes, banchan, are very good. I've been here three times lately, and the food has been consistently great! Things I don't care for: The place is so small in size with only a few tables, maybe 7 or 8 tables?, that it fills up quickly. If you visit during peak meal times and you're done, the elderly waitress will pressure you to leave, stating there's a waiting line outside. Another aspect I don't care for has nothing to do with the restaurant but the environment it is located in. Two times I've been there, there was this unkept looking man who appeared either drunk or schizophrenic, talking away, aimlessly waiving his arms and didn't seem mentally intact. By all means I don't mean to be saying nothing more than I felt unsafe going out of my car by myself after seeing him twice I've been there. I stayed in my car until he was a bit away, and I rushed to the restaurant. The entire strip of this small business center is much aged and needs some TLC. O stars if I could. Horrible service. I waked in at 225p tried to order lunch special a lt 236p bc server was helping other patrons. Yet I was denied bc it was past 230p. Such bad customer experience. Then I had to order alternate and got bimbap stone pot fully loaded with rice veggies and maybe 3 oz bulgolgi. All of that for 20.95$. Such BS. Came here by "word of mouth" from a family member and it was just as they explained. Tasty! Authentic Korean food! Healthy taste! I ordered the chicken bulgogi with vegetables (used to wrap) which came with a soup on the side (fermented bean soup) it sounds gross but it's one of Korea's traditional soups and although it was a bit on the salty side, it was amazing mixed with rice. My dad ordered a fish soup that was, first on the soup menu (forgot the name). It is a special fish that many Koreans use in soup as a hang over cure but overall it is eaten for its health benefits. The food is absolutely "home style" and it seems as if the place uses little or even no MSG. Lot of places claim they don't use MSG in their menu items but I can't seem to fully trust them. However this place does not advertise the non-use of MSG but from the taste, it has a clean and refreshing taste. I am definitely coming back and if you are looking for some authentic Korean food (home style Korean food) I highly recommend this place. read more

I literally live a minute away from this place and I would have never have thought to step foot in here. But one night, I really wanted some Korean food and of course I looked up yelp and found this place. The reviews were decent and from what I saw from the pictures, it looked quite tasty. So the girlfriend and I decided to go and boy was I pleasantly surprised. I ordered the ssambap with the steamed pork belly. The girlfriend ordered the donkatsu. The banchan was delicious and service I believe was very prompt. When my food came out, I was amazed at the portions for what I was paying. It came with a bunch of vegetables, pork belly, dwenjang goohk, and rice. It was definitely enough food for me, even sharing with the girlfriend. Ok, so the donkatsu wasn't all that great. The breading was kind of weird and there was some strange fried thing on the plate that we could not identify. Needless to say, we just packed the katsu in a box to take home. At the end of the meal, they pour you some hobahk(squash?) shikae. I've never had that kind before, but it just tasted like normal shikae... it was good! The only downside to this place, is that it's in a plaza with a bunch of other ghetto stores around. I saw a few shady characters driving through the parking lot, but other than that, this is definitely one of several on my list of places I'll go to get my authentic Korean food fix. read more

Okay I absolutely adore this place. I am so grateful to have found this restaurant. It's truly what people call "hidden gems." It's in a plaza that's easily accessible and with plenty of parking, but in a part of Buena Park that most people would just pass by. Now on to the food... If you're looking for an authentic and tasty Korean restaurant this is your place. The menu items consist of traditional dishes such as, red bean noodles, natto soup, and spicy pork ribs with aged kimchi. Oh! And Mindeulle' side dishes are all delicious! We ordered spicy pork and bori rice. We enjoyed the dishes and it felt very homely. Like the food that mom or an aunt would make. But here are the issues. I think the price does not justify the quality. The food is homely but way too expensive. Also, the vegetables were old. Some sidedishes seem old too. Portions were ok but still small for the price. There are not enough tables and parking can be an issue. We were lucky because someone just left when we came in. But I believe that you would have to wait a bit. Still the best Korean food I've ever had. They're not yet to getting non Korean customers I think because the waitresses don't speak a lot of English and the signs they have posted are in Korean (hope the sign in the bathroom didn't say don't flush toilet paper lol). The "beefu" hot stone bibimbap was as good as ever but seems like maybe they changed their pots and the rice didn't get as crunchy. Still no complaints here. This time also tried the octopus bibimbap and that one is really flavorful, a bit more spicy and has pieces of a yummy leaf in it (I forget the name, I saw it at a Korean store later). As always the side dishes are a hit here. Still my favorite Korean spot. FYI most of the parking in front is now 15 minute spots, there's more parking in the back. FYI #2 the fish soup smells really strong, if you're not used to that smell it's going to smell really funky. I can see why my dad raved about this place. It's food that I ate growing up! Food was okay. I feel like it could've been a lot better. However, their side dishes were soooo good! Lots of variety and all healthy! Koreans and our veggies~ Their soybean soup was a little too salty in my opinion. Marinated beef ssambap: 6/10 not too much flavor and there was a lot of hard bits on the meat. Marinated pork ssambap: 8/10 my brother seemed to enjoy it a lot and finished the whole thing! Braised spicy mackerel: 8/10 my mom makes it the best! Hands down. I know I shouldn't compare the two because I'm being biased but I can't help it! Although, as restaurant food, it was pretty good. Found this little gem while on the search for a local Korean restaurant near home! It's a very small family owned restaurant. Tables are limited, but I came on a weekend around 2 PM and it wasn't too busy. It's small, but feels comfortable! Boiled Pork Slices ($15) with Samjang + Vegetable Wrap + Soybean Paste Stew ($3) - Probably one of THE BEST bossam I've had. On my Top 3 List! The price of this combo was a good deal, considering it feeds two people and it came with a decent amount of pork belly meat. I really appreciate the basket of vegetables along with this combo! It feels very authentic. This meal was so delicious, it's a MUST TRY if you come here! I LOVE BOSSAM. Also, their ban chan or side dishes are amazing. I can't stress enough. Every side dish was very unique! They were all flavorful and it really complimented our meal. It adds the prefect touch to any food you order on the menu. Octopus Bibimbap ($13) - This was really good and portions were huge! It was a little on the spicer side though. It's not the best octopus bibimbap I've tried, but it'll do. The seafood smell might be strong for some, but it's still good. I really enjoy having bibimbap along with bossam. The service here was outstanding! The lady who was our server was so friendly. She kept refilling our water and was checking up on us continuously. She spilled a bit of the sambap combo sauce and cleaned it up right away. Then got us a new one. So nice of her. This is my grandma's favourite local restaurant and it's definitely a good one. When entering, you are always greeted with smiles. The space inside is a bit small, so you need to get there a little before prime meal times. The food is all so homey and delicious. They serve complimentary side dishes with your order and are always willing to refill them when you finish (which you're going to want because they are all so goooood). I like to get the yukgaejang (it's this spicy soup), especially when it's night and chilly outside. I would recommend the ssambap pork belly bossam too! It's SUPER filling and yummy. This is one of my favorite Korean food and I have been looking for everywhere to find a good place that has a reasonable amount of monk fish on the plate. Often times, many places have so little monk fishes and busy hiding them under the mountain of bean sprouts, if you know what I'm talking about say ho- no. Anyways, when I first got the order on the table, my friend and I were so surprised at how big they are and how there are plenty of monk fishes on the plate. Not only the portion of the monk fish gave us bliss, but also the taste was just GREAT! Moderate spicy, crispy, and rich. Finally, found the one. The ONE place. My go to Korean restaurant in Fullerton! Authentic Korean food (and this is coming from a fob!). I don't get migraines after eating here which means no msg. I've had their dried pollack soup, kalbitang, kalbitang with cabbage, octopus Bibimbap, steamed pork with Napa, grilled dried pollack, braided cutlassfish, steamed dried pollack, and barley rice with raddish kimchi. (More than half their dishes) I can honestly vouch for ALL their dishes but my favorites are dried pollack soup and braised cutlassfish. I got the grilled yimyeonsu (atka mackerel) and kalgooksu today. Yimyeonsu was grilled to perfection: crispy outside and moist inside. Kalgooksu wasn't anything special but still yummy. This place is tiny and holds nine tiny tables so the wait is quite long during lunch hours. Service is okay but I don't even care because the food is that great. You can park in the plaza but way easier to park behind the restaurant since that whole parking lot is fully theirs. Strongly recommend!!! read more

Definitely get this dish here. However, I would pass on the pork belly bossam next time. It was okay... it wasn't terrible, but it was on the dry side. I ate it but I wouldn't order it again.
