Saturday dinner with family. Such high expectations as my aunt said they're inexpensive and delicious. It was and it wasn't. It's definitely close. It's definitely a hole in the wall. It's definitely quick service. Inexpensive is debate-able. Delicious - unfortunately, no. It's close to my aunt's place. Just down the street in fact. Parking wasn't an issue however, there looked to be a club that shares the same lot and I'm guessing that later at night, when it gets packed - finding a spot might become challenging. An extensive menu. Daily specials, with the exception of Sundays which I believe they're closed. Staff was very friendly and patient as it took our party of four, a few minutes to decide on what to get. Even then, there were questions re: substitutions. I ordered the Kalbi special as I was craving beef ribs. The combo comes with miso soup, a salad, rice and ribs, of course. Salad - ok. Rice - ok (hard to mess up rice). Miso soup was lacking in flavor. I don't want to use the word bland because there was some taste - however, it was missing that flavor that makes miso soup distinguishable from other soups. After a few sips, it was like a seaweed and tofu broth. The kalbi was cooked ok. I don't know enough to comment if it was just a cheap cut of meat or the marinade was missing one of those key, secret ingredients - but I didn't like it. It reminded me of when I first tried cooking kalbi myself. I substituted some ingredients as I thought it wouldn't make a difference - however it did. Anyway, even my aunt didn't like her dish. She ate part of her meal and decided to save the rest to give to her dog. Maybe it was just a bad night. Whatever the case, my first impression - I've had better. read more

Kind of a hole in the wall place, you wouldn't think much, but this place has pretty good sushi at a ridiculously value. Small little place- some inside and outside seating but I think most people may order to go. They have a ton of different menu options at very reasonable prices. Their teriyaki is tasty and their sushi rolls are surprisingly fresh. Under 9 bucks for salmon teriyaki and tempura with rice, miso soup, and side salad for example. Not the most incredible sushi but definitely good and affordable and not to mention fast service. Will be back here for lunch again! Good sushi for a good price, to go, and with speedy customer service. I come here often but only dined in the out door seating area once. My go to's are the Spider Roll, Caterpillar Roll, Tuna roll, jalapeño bombs, tempura shrimp/veggies, and ribs. I'd recommend all thee above and suggest eating whatever you get right away...even though I've eaten some of these rolls the day after and they still tasted pretty good! Don't judge me. Super place. What a pleasant surprise! I went for sushi at the grove this week - blue ribbon sushi bar - and this place was more than on par with that. It was possibly better. We didn't dine in, we took the food home and this feels like a more of a take out kinda place. A huge variety of rolls, tasty miso, and the salmon and tuna sashimi was actually better than where we ate a week earlier. We'll come back here. It's a decent sushi spot with pretty good parking. The menu has dozens of options including combo bowls, sushi, and tempura. As far as drinks they have canned sodas, Snapple, and water. The food is fresh made right in your view so that's a treat. Chefs do take a while so you may want to call in advance. Prices are pretty standard for sushi ranging from 5-13 dollars. I ordered the maki special which comes with three types of rolls and they were all pretty good. It's only real drawback for me is the size of the restaurant. It's really cramped inside and can seat 18 people. There are a few seats outside so I guess there shouldn't be too much conflict. It I imagine a busy day means I'm taking my food to go. It concerns me how this place has so many stars. The woman who took my order had an attitude, so that's the first thing wrong about this establishment. Second, this place is overpriced for the amount of sushi you get. I wish I had taken a photo. I got the tiger roll, which is essentially a shrimp tempera roll. There was barely any shrimp or tempura. And I got a miso soup. That was $12.69 for one roll and miso. If the roll was a lot bigger and actually had shrimp, maybe I would be little more satisfied. Most of the rolls have only 6 pieces and are about $8.99?! At least give 8 pieces like a normal roll has. Smh! It's kind of clean but could be cleaner for a restaurant. We recently moved to the area and we were looking for a sushi spot that we would like near us. We decided to give Miyako Express a try and they did not disappoint. I had called for information while I i was still looking for a sushi place. The girl that answered was very informative and explained which rolls we could include for a large platter. This is my new go-to place for my spicy tuna rolls! The place by my job is not so good anymore and I recently moved to the Westchester area and I always drive by this place and wanted to try it one day. I am glad I did. They make consistently good spicy tuna rolls! My only complaint is that they charge $1.50 extra (PER ROLL) to add avocado. I can get a whole avocado from the store for less than $1 (especially this time of year). I always have a handful of avocados in my fridge so I just put some on top once I get home. I am also sad that they're closed on Sundays and that's my lazy day and I always want to have sushi. I haven't ventured out and tried any of their other rolls yet, maybe I will one day. Inside is not much different, small and compact with just a few seating's. Their meal portion are really filling with a couple sides that come with it. From my experience everything is usually good from the teriyaki chicken bowl to the rainbow roll. Heck, I even enjoyed the eel. Miyako can be a little pricey depending on what you get. So you might want to consider their daily specials when ordering. The dine in experience... well there is no experience. It's cramped with limited seating. Not bad if you're eating alone. Look I have zero complaints about this place. There is even an order outside window. I searched for sushi in my area because I know I could get it for cheaper than Ralphs. I dont eat out a lot as in sit down and a lot of sushi is sit down so I tend to get it from Ralphs but I eat it so much I know Ralphs price and know I can get it cheaper from an actual sushi spot. So this came up and thank you to everyone who posted the menu. I saw I could get the one order each of the "basic" rolls for only slightly more than one of them at Ralphs so off I went. I ordered California and Spicy Tuna, as I said the basic rolls but my funds are funny right now, but its entirely too hot to cook. They are really good. I know I have been eating store bought sushi for too long because I was shocked when the spicy tuna was actually spicy lol .. Had shrimp tempura, crab, avocado and eel at the top drizzled with eel sauce. My dad had California roll tempura, that was delicious too. Very crunch and fresh. He also had the spicy tuna roll, he enjoyed that too. My sister had combo A and enjoyed it, that came with salad, chicken and rice, and 6 fried gyozas. She loved that. Another Yelp referral for the win! A few weeks ago, I was looking up something and this place came up as a suggestion... I looked at the menu and was intrigued. Well tonight, with the frosty night and dinner scheduled with a friend, soup seemed like a good option to warm us up. K was game and off we went! Admittedly, I don't normally venture this far east on Manchester, but it was fine! Miyako Express sits in an unassuming strip mall, set out from the main building on the corner. The interior is a bit run down, but there were already several people waiting for to-go orders. Taking items to go seemed to be more popular than eating in, but the place is small. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door. Although there is an extensive menu, I had my mind set on a steaming bowl of udon. I went straight for the udon with shrimp tempura and a side of crunch roll. After a brief wait, the woman who took my order called me and I picked up the tray and brought it to our table. My friends was done right after. The udon broth was good, but not quite as rich as some of the others I've had. It was filled with a generous portion of noodles. Now large tempura shrimp came on the side, along with my half of a crunch roll. Everything was very fresh. This does not compare to higher caliber sushi joints, but I did enjoy my meal. As can be expected, what I got for $9 here might not be the same quality as a pricier place, but my belly was filled and the food was good. After satisfying my udon craving, I did manage to check out the rest of the menu and I'd definitely come back and try some of their other dishes. I wouldn't really call this a sushi joint... They have a lot of cooked food. But for a quick, inexpensive Japanese meal, this definitely does the trick. I look forward to my next visit! read more

Miyako is always a decent place to stop at when I am getting my hair done at the salon across the way. Positives: Their roles are always tasty and you get a great serving for the price. $6 for an eight piece Shrimp Tempura roll was very reasonable. Cons Their Teriyaki had a lot of dark meat in it and there was a little bit too much fat. The veggies were also lacking and the actual sauce was a bit bland. I'm watching my calories but would otherwise have to ask for a second cup to help add a little extra flavor. Great prices and just okay food. read more

This is the best Japanese food for miles around! I am a bonified Benihana fan but Miyako's Shrimp Tempura may be a bit better. The food is always fresh. The prices are fair and reasonable.
