I really contemplated writing this updated review, given this is a new business kicking off in my town...but after much thought, here I am writing this. After the 3rd time, I don't think I will be stepping into this shop, which is unfortunate given my whole family enjoyed this place for the near week we stopped by. Also, the promo was very short lived to begin with, so for the business owners to change things up day to day in such a drastic way w/no additional signage or call-outs from order takers at the register felt a little shady. Today was the first of business so it was not as busy since there were not much advertisement for this new snack shop. The shop is quite small and it's really only good for quick eats because there were only standing tables and no chairs. As for the food, I ordered the Mozzarella Hotdog and the Cheddar Hotdog. Both were really good, but I prefer the mozzarella because who does not like a cheese pull? Before consuming these hotdogs, you have an option on having these hotdogs rolled in sugar, which is something they really do in Korea. Not sure why they like that combination, cause it's quite weird, but I'm not hating. There also 6 sauces to choose from for toppings: spicy mayo, mango habanero, honey mustard, ketchup, cheddar cheese, and sweet chili. Overall, I had a pleasant experience here. I'm not a huge fan of places that sell humorous/strange food items because most of the time it ends up tasting bad. I didn't have any hope for this place but I was actually surprised on how good the corn dogs actually were! When we first arrived, the line was heading out the door but the wait time for food was relatively short which was a pleasant surprise. I would say that you would only have to wait around 20 minutes on a very busy day. The service was also friendly, my only complaint was that the employees were having a unnecessary amount of conversation which normally doesn't annoy me, but in this case, the employees should've paid more attention to the dozens of customers waiting for their food. The food itself was actually surprisingly good, I would recommend squid ink, potato pieces, mozzarella, and regular corn dogs because they all have their own unique flavor and they are all pretty good. Came here to check out the hype and found myself a tad underwhelmed. I ordered the Volcano Dog and the Potato Mozerella. Maybe it wasn't to my taste but I found the actual hot dog not very flavorful and the sugar over it not helping it's case. The potato mozerella was better but I wasn't very wow'd. I did try out the different sauces but it didn't change my opinion much. I ended up not finishing both items. Again, perhaps the food isn't to my taste as my friends enjoyed their food. Apparently this is one of the newer locations, but luckily we arrived right when they opened so we didn't have to deal with long lines. I wanted to order everything but we had lots of eating to do that day, so we just opted for one corn dog each - gamsung (potato) and crispy ramen. When your order is ready, they will ask if you want sugar. I must have had a strange look on my face because he responded with "how about on half?" Turns out it was pretty yummy with the sugar dusted on top, who knew?! It balanced out the spicier sauces, if you choose to put any on. I recommend it! If you don't want to drizzle it (for the Instagram pics of course), then at least put some on the side so you can dip your hot dog in it. It could get a bit dry after a while without any sauce. I tried mine with honey mustard, spicy mayo, mango habanero, and cheddar cheese. All were yummy! I tried the ramen hot dog but the crunch was a bit too much for me. I liked that the potatoes were still crispy on the outside of the gamsung hot dog but softer and chewier inside. I thought the prices were pretty fair too, considering it's one of those "trendy" foods so I expected it to cost more. The different types range from $3-5. A great place to get a snack! I love the idea of a Korean corn dog place in the Cerritos area! It's near the 605 and the 91 freeways easy place to get to. I do recommend coming here on a weekday in the afternoon, since it does take about 6-8 minutes to make the corn dogs & depending on how much you order, it'll take awhile for it to be ready. They want to make sure that your order comes out fresh! There are no chairs at the only two counters they have, it pretty much is an order, eat & leave type of place. Not a place to hang out for too long, but they do have a restroom in the back! Definitely would not recommend this place if you are looking for authentic Korean Hotdogs. The batter that is used has a consistency of an American corn dog with panko crumbs added on top. Their sauce selection is also very minimal. They only have ketchup, mustard , and spicy Mayo. You will not find the unique sauces you will find at a usual Korean hotdog place. But the number one reason to not visit this place is the fact that after they cook the hotdog, the batter is still raw in the inside! If you like going number 2 after each visit, then go there. But if not I suggest going to myungrang hotdogs at the source in Buena Park. It's only 15 min away. read more
