Good food, PAINFULLY slow service. This is the second time I've ordered from this food truck and had to wait a long time for my food. I ordered my momos and waited over 20 minutes for my food. When I asked how much longer it would take, they told me another 4 minutes. When I went back up again I found out they'd given my order to another person. Not impressed! read more

We went last night at about 10 and ordered the pan fried and soup vegan dumplings (i dont recall the exact name). The wait wasnt bad at all and man was it worth it. The filling was very delicious and the soup/sauce they provide had a nice curry flavor! The pan fried dumplings werent that flavorful so I would just get the soup momos next time read more

I rarely leave Yelp reviews, but just had to for this amazing place. We ordered vegan momo (steamed, pan fried, and the soup one) on Uber eats. Roughly $30 for 30 of these amazing dumplings. Mind. Blown. They have kind of an Indian spice flavor that's super interesting. The vegan ones have a little bit of tofu mixed in with the veggies. We got mild and that was definitely spicy enough (we usually order mild/medium for Indian food). The sauces are super complimentary. I could eat Monk's Momos everyday. For a vegetarian/vegan, it's a great option and truly something unique! read more

What a fun little surprise on Rainey Street! I hadn't tried any of those food trucks in the new enclave (new to me since I haven't been to Rainey Street in a year or so). I was mainly drawn to this food truck because one of my nicknames has been "Momo" - turns out momo is also an adorable name for Nepalese dumplings! This stuff is SO GOOD! Great flavor and so filling. Loved every single bite. We ordered the vegetarian steamed momos and chicken steamed momos. Neither disappointed! The fillings were spiced nicely in both, the dumpling skins weren't too thick nor too thin, and the sauces are delicious too. A good dumpling tastes beautiful with or without sauces, and I would say Monk's momos certainly hit that mark. Plus, it doesn't hurt that you get a good bang for your buck at this place! I've been ordering monk's momo for a LONG time but I've been holding off posting a review because I like to check for consistency. I have no complaints about them. They have AMAZING customer service, but most importantly, their food is absolutely STELLAR! You see it and you're like "sure, dumplings..." but you have no idea. These dumplings are SO FLAVORFUL and DELICIOUS! I look forward all week to try their delicious food. I have seriously gone around tasting momos from other places when they're not open, but none taste like this, these are just so fantastic! BEST DUMPLINGS I HAVE HAD IN A LONG TIME! We stumbled around after dinner on Rainey Street and worked up a small appetite and came across this food truck. We ordered the spicy dumplings and OMG...where has this truck been?! These dumplings were so delicious! The spicy sauce was perfectly seasoned and the dumplings themselves were so incredibly good! The dough we delicate and thin but held the filling in nicely. We ordered the vegetarian dumplings and the filling was so yummy...tofu, veggies and what I expected garlic and the right amount of salt and seasonings. I seriously could have eaten another order by myself. Austin people, seriously, don't let this gem pass you by. Unbeatably delicious pick to satisfy my hunger! I was there last weekend with some of my friends and tried their Momos. Tiny looking gracious packets of goodness! ... supposed to be eaten as a whole which then bursts with full of flavors in your mouth. We had ordered their Steam Momo, C-Momo with chicken and Vegan Momo... all looked and tasted amazing!... enjoyed every bite of it. Their service was pretty quick, friendly staff and very reasonably priced (ten pieces on a plate with the choice of your filling and sauce). We were hanging out at rainy street and tried Monk's momo's and they did not disappoint. Momo's were outright delicious. We tried the C-momos and the vegan ones and both were filled with absolute awesomeness! The plates are reasonably priced and were very filling. I am a repeat customer for sure. My family came in wanted to go to a food truck park so we chose Rainey for the options. We got dishes from multiple trucks just to try and hands down Monks Momo was the best. Momo are essentially Nepali dumplings. We got the chili momo with beef and the kothey momo with chicken. The chili momo was UNREAL covered in their tomato based sauce! Highly recommend this spot if you're looking for something new, delicious, and that will give you a great amount of food for a great price. read more

Vegan steamed Momo with spicy sauce was delicious. I'm happy I found this place halfway through my trip to Austin so I can stop eating crappy overpriced hotel food. We were here Saturday night-- typical busy Rainey, and for some strange reason, this place had no line so we tried here and we're so glad we did! We got the chicken steamed and chicken pan fried MOMOs and they were delicious! It was so good, we actually came back Sunday to get some take-out.
