Great AYCE kbbq! Went for lunch on Saturday with a group of 4. You can order three meats at a time and there was unlimited sides and dishes. We had rice, rice paper, corn cheese, soup, and steamed egg. Everything was yummy, flavorful, and filling. They even had baby octopus which we loved. The service was very quick and attentive. The bathrooms are clean and the music is very loud but plays only bangers. Only downside was that we thought it would be $25 per person but didn't realize it's $32 on the weekends for lunch - just FYI, still a good price with free parking. read more

Food options and variety is really good. Both the regular and premium menus will satisfy the craving. I found Moodaepo on TikTok and gave it a chance! It did not disappoint and I'm so glad I came. Will was our server and he was amazing and so helpful. Since it was my first time he helped my friend and I cook our food and guided us through the menu. Everything we ordered was good and the drinks too. The Soju lychee drink was my fav. First timers you won't be disappointed and you'll want to come back. The ambiance is nice too. The neon lights are such a vibe especially at night and they have a great playlist. read more

Fuck this money hungry place. They charged a mando 18% tip on a family of 4 with two of them being kids that barely ate anything at all but got charged as adults because they're right at the "height limit". Kids ages 7 & 8 btw. Tip came out to $35. Do the math. Fucking rip off. And you have to order through a kiosk. Customer service was ass. so basic and non attentive. Weak ass place. Go elsewhere. read more

This spot was poppin' on a Wednesday night! You absolutely have to try their premium meat selections. We're talking wagyu beef belly, prime LA short rib, and prime beef rib Such quality cuts! And if you're a soju fan, they serve their deliciously refreshing watermelon soju in half of a watermelon year-round. I went to Moodeapo with my partner after seeing it go viral on TikTok. Since it was close, we figured it would be fun to try. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. About 90% of the meat we were served was just fat -- barely anything edible. We also ordered one of their "popular" drinks, the giant watermelon filled with soju, and it honestly just tasted like a bland smoothie. We couldn't even finish it. Service was pretty much nonexistent. It was difficult to communicate or get answers to simple questions. When we asked if we could exchange the watermelon drink for something else, they refused. I ordered a glass of wine afterward, but it never even came -- a clear sign of how inattentive the staff was. Cleanliness was also questionable. The utensils were left directly on the table/menu (which felt sticky), and that's what we were supposed to use to pick up and cut the meat. Not very sanitary. Overall, I enjoyed going out with my boo, but the restaurant itself fell short in too many ways. They could improve a lot just by focusing on service, communication, and food quality. read more

One of my favorite kbbq spots so far! It used to be hae jea chong I think that's the name lol but that spot gets way to busy. Found this spot randomly since we didn't want to wait like 2 hrs there smh. The food is really good and the service is great. The price is fair since it's a long list of diff meats. If you come during lunch the price is cheaper and esp if you just like brisket. read more

I have been here a few times and was super disappointed today! I still can't believe that No one welcomes you, it is just an iPad to join the waiting list. There is was so many empty chairs, and no reason for a waiting list! We waited 15 minutes at our table before the waiter came over. The quality of meat is not the same, very fatty! Our server never came back, we were lucky that other servers were walking by. Too loud, could not even hear the server. The restrooms were closed. Definitely highly recommend for multiple reasons! Will certainly come back. Came here on Mother's Day before 7 and had no trouble finding seating because the place is big. 5/5 FOOD: My bf who cooks and is very particular about his meat quality said that this was was the best quality KBBQ he's had. The meat seemed to have good marble scores and tasted juicy and great. His favorites were the brisket, aged ribeye steak, and sirloin. We also ordered ribeye cap, beef tongue, short rib, marinated brisket bulgogi, seasoned top sirloin, angus bulgogi, and top blade. The top blade was the only thing we ordered that was too thin and dry. They have hot sauce and soy sauce you can ask for. The corn cheese was lovely and light. 5/5 PRICE: $33 regular dinner, $50 premium dinner, and they have a $23 lunch special Monday-Friday 12-4 PM 5/5 SERVICE: Our waitress gave us excellent recommendations and even let us know if we picked meats that are already similar to each other. 5/5 ATMOSPHERE: Loved the lighting and high ceilings. Where do I start? First time here and the food is so fresh. The meat and pork are delicious. " I don't think you know what you're talking about." Nothing against the restaurant just EVERYTHING AGAINST THAT ONE SERVER! Food was fine for the price. General service was fine. One added star for the food and one added star for the server that served me and my partner. ( fit, short hair with glasses, look about early 30s? ) We sat down at the table, and the first thing I tasted was the kimchi since I just love my kimchi! It was sour and I immediately noticed how overly sour it was and asked for a separate bowl to see if it's because that's just how they do their kimchi. ( different places do their kimchis differently, some are more fresh and some are more spicy/more sour/more sweet /whatever. It happens. ) The new bowl I got was perfectly fresh tasting and well fermented, very different from the initial bowl, so I called my server and showed them the kimchi, and they explained by saying that their kimchi come in batches and the supply last a few days, the bowl I received might just have been a little bit over fermented. Nevertheless it just tasted spoiled. I wonder if it's because the first bowl was already sitting in room temperature for a while when we arrived at 5pm? Or? Anyway not super important. I said no it had obviously gone bad because old kimchi tastes different from spoiled kimchi and I could tell from the yrs I spent eating my grandmas kimchi. Maybe I was being a little bit harsh, but I didn't want to take " oh it's just over fermented" as an excuse to be served kimchi that could give my partner and I food poisoning. My server then asked me how I want to be compensated, and if a discount is acceptable since the places AYCE, and I can't technically get a "refund". I said a small discount was fine and thanked my server. Everything was perfectly fine until this point!! Untill..... This server ( not my server, I later was told their names Will, I could be wrong. They had greenish blue tips in their hairand earrings on ) approached my table, after my server and I resolved the kimchi issue, and said to me " you want a discount because your kimchi tasted weird?" In an extremely condescending manner. I was shocked by how condescending that sounded and responded saying " yah the kimchi had gone bad" . I then was bombarded with a bunch of mad offensive questions& rude comments like " huh it's kimchi you know it's fermented right?" " I don't think you know what you're talking about" " our kimchis fda approved" " you get a discount from McDonald's if something's tasting weird?" Followed with some weird noises of distain. EXCUSE ME??? I'm literally Korean It shouldn't matter regardless. So what if a costumers not Korean/has never had kimchi? That way you could serve them your spoiled kimchi and tell them oh this is how it's supposed to taste? Is this person just petty? So damn rude and the nasty audacity to say such things to people is unaccountable. Just don't come here if that one persons around I guess read more

I saved the info so that we can return when we visit Koreatown again in the near future. Highly recommend this place to anyone who craves exceptional Korean food.

Especially for new patrons, the staff is understanding and willing to explain the menu. This is a fine dining experience elevated by many traditional Korean flavors. Everyone gets a large bowl of barley rice, and you can build your own bowl with the many kinds of Banchan. Sauces and soups are also served to round the palate. Priced as fine dining, this place feels like a special occasion choice, or if you're seeking more traditional Korean foods. If you're searching for some of the city's best pork, then those in the know will bring up Ham Ji Park. For 2 decades, generous platters of pork ribs and pork neck stew decked every table. Now, our Korean friends lament the loss of their favorite pork joint in the city. The Koreatown proper location is located in the Royal Plaza mini-mall, just a few blocks off bustling Wilshire. Discounted parking is available in a lot across the street from the Chevron gas station. From the street, the entrance is flanked by potted plants and an enclosed street-ery. Inside, stainless steel chairs are pressed up against wooden tables, each outfitted with a metal grill. Oppressive fluorescent lighting shines down on the stone grey walls, which are left undecorated apart from a few flatscreens. Multi-lingual chatter blends with the sizzle of platters. I visited with some friends for a weeknight dinner, and about half of the tables were occupied. We shared a spread of grilled platters and sizzling soups. The meal began with a carafe of barley tea and a mostly standard spread of banchan. Across our food, the best dish was the signature Charbroiled Pork Spare Rib. The ribs were flavorful without feeling gamey, and the meat was complemented by sweet caramelized onions. The pork ribs handily outdid the good-not-great Charbroiled Beef Short Rib. Lastly, the Milt and Cod Rose with Vegetables stew was fishy and briny, appropriately flavored for the Korean palate. The service was appropriately attentive, although I would've appreciated more intentional refills of our banchan ramikens. The rib plates cost upward of $35 each, while the soup was just under $30. The portions were hearty; a single entree platter could reasonably feed 2 moderately hungry bellies. It's a shame to hear that Ham Ji Park has closed; I'm kicking myself for not trying their pork neck stew earlier.

As they cleared plates.. we did get a "how was it,". Bit not a real check in as to how our food was The mashed potatoes were perfection. I did add some salt that was served with the steak to them as they were slightly....just slightly under seasoned. But still. These are pretty perfect mashed potatoes. We topped it off with cobbler (peach blackberry). It was great. And a small scoop of $9 ice cream .. cookies and cream. I'd skip this favor. Too much cookie. Not enough cream. Al in all. A really wonderful meal. The steak, even though it wasn't cooked perfectly . Was still delicious. That cornbread does live up to the hype. Final Thoughts: Dunsmoor serves some excellent food, especially the chicken liver and green chile stew, but the overall experience was held back by the long waits and noisy dining room. I can see why it's so popular, but I think some of the excitement is driven by hype. Even so, I'd come back to explore more of the menu.

I'm sure I would have been happy with the pancakes, but so glad I opted for the linguine. The pasta was perfectly cooked and it was a bright and tasty dish with a slight citrus zest. Such a fun dish to eat. Especially in the morning where I was able to enjoy with a nice cappuccino. Definitely a place I would like to come back and enjoy with another person or a small group. I got there pretty much right at opening on the weekend so there was plenty of street parking nearby

The decor and ambience is absolutely remarkable, so much so that we just had to stare at every detail when walking over to the terrace. Even in the searing summer heat, the terrace offered us a soft, peaceful breeze, so everything felt just right. At the same time, we took advantage of the lovely views of the neighborhood on one side and the beautiful interior of the bar as a centerpiece on the other. Whether having drinks or a meal, this was the perfect setting. Each person on staff was very welcoming and enthusiastic, and they hit the right notes in terms of helping to set the atmosphere. We were recommended the sticky Japanese sweet potato and informed that the skewers would also be delicious and filling. The king salmon skewer and glazed pork belly skewers were indeed amazing. It was obvious that each culinary item was treated with great attention to detail. For me personally, the shoyu, pickled daikon, and rhubarb on the pork belly truly created that perfect bite. Needless to say, I cannot wait for my next trek to the magnificent Checker Hall.

I work two blocks away from this place. I decided to walk there with my wife. The host (owner) seated us immediately. No sooner than we sat down a Mexican boy comes to the table and asks for our car key. I told him I don't have a car I walked here. He said that I have to pay valet parking. I said for what? I waived to the owner to resolve the situation but she ignored us completely leaving me and my wife to deal with this scum motherfucker asshole. He argued with us and insisted that I pay valet even though we walked there. I got pissed off and we decided to walk out and return back to the office. The hostess (owner) looked at us and did not bother to talk to us or ask why we leaving. Very clearly the hostess (owner) was in cahoots with this thief. We never sampled any of their food or experienced unreasonable wait. So I cannot say anything to that. But since this was our first time with the experience we got, it is also will be the last one at this place. The hostess left us at the mercy of this highway robber. I am not going to pay for valet parking when I walked two blocks tthere. We will never set my foot close to this place. Fuck Moodaepo II. For the ones that had a horrible experience, I am happy you shared your thoughts here. AVOID AVOID AVOID! I've gone to this place a handful of times and was never really impressed with the customer service. They never had a bright spot for customer service, but this last time was just ridiculous. We had a group of 10 and we waited quite some time before they sat us down (even though the whole damn place was empty)! We sat down and a couple of friends came to the same place and wanted to sit next to us. The waiters came and said they cant sit next to us because we would share food! We even all agreed to getting the same buffet deal so it wouldnt matter if we shared food, still they denied service to our friends! Our friends on the other table got irritated and left along with one person that was sitting on our table. We got passed that and enjoyed our food, when we got our check we see they charged us for the person that had left from our table! We did not order any meat at the point that he left, so it made no sense to charge us. We went to clear it up with the waiter and they accused us of STEALING and said our friend was eating and they saw him when he CLEARLY wasnt there when we ordered. We told them to check the cameras, they refused. and still wanted to charge us! They know nothing about customer service. First time here, we came in last night. We had 10 people in the party. I thought the food was alright but the service is NOT!!! Everything was ok until we started ordering more and more food. The server started saying that we have order a lot and start telling us that some of the food was out of order. They don't have enough rice, some of the pork on the menu was out, etc... It really pissed me of because it's all you can eat and how come they said they're out of food. It's sunday night and it's only 7:30pm. There was one time we were trying to our order some mushroom and our server said they had only 4 pieces left so he gave us that. Guess what before we left the restaurant I saw there were a lot of mushroom sitting in the bowl where the server could ask the kitchen people to bright out more. I felt like they were trying not to serve us more food. Maybe we had ordered a lot of food for our table. BUT we had 10 people and we finished them all. If you're craving some delicious Korean BBQ, this spot definitely hits the mark! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was lively, cozy, and full of energy. The service was friendly and attentive, which always makes for a better dining experience. The highlight, of course, was the BBQ grill at our table. We ordered a variety of meats--beef short ribs, bulgogi, and pork belly--and each one was seasoned perfectly and came out tender and juicy. The best part? Grilling them right at the table, which added a fun, interactive element to the meal. The sides were also a big win--kimchi, pickled radishes, and the assorted banchan (side dishes) were fresh and complemented the BBQ beautifully. The dipping sauces and rice were a nice touch, rounding out the meal perfectly. While everything was delicious, I did find the wait time a bit longer than expected, especially considering it wasn't overly busy when we arrived. I've been here 3 times now, including the last 2 nights, so I'd like to think I have an idea about the place. 1st off, the food's not bad, although value-wise it's not the best. O-dae san's good for that, they have a $9.99 option. Plus, that's a nice, classy place. It'ss like a club here, like it or not. The birthday music is quite annoying. I'm with you, omo a. The service and yogurt are what bring down the place. The yogurt's ok, but if we're already paying this much for food, you can't throw that in? At least make it Yogurtland-like, then. Then I'd be happy to pay extra. And service-wise, it starts with the parking. I parked at a meter by the place, and the valet wanted to force me to use them. You can't make a meter into a valet spot! This place screams drinking and eating the moment you walk up and pay the valet 2 whole bucks. There will be boys and girls of all ages smoking their cigerettes outside to give themselves a break from the all you can eat beef and 3 foot high beer dispensers. For two separate prices, you can pick which meal plan you want. For instance, $17 per head will allow you to pick up to four different meats at a time to cook at your own table. Moodaepo is like the Asian version of Oktoberfest. Long 90 foot tables seat hungry merrymakers and tower-like beer containers quench joyous thirst 3 feet at a time. I personally only order brisket because it cooks fast and can be enjoyed at a ziggy piggy pace, versus most other cuts which take so long to cook your belly may fill up too fast with beer instead of beef. Paucity of ready to eat beef can lead to feelings of resentment amongst the hAngry. Soju of course, is readily available. You can ask for a lemon to squeeze into the soju glasses if you wanna drink it Seoul-style. I recommend not Jinro but Cheom-churum soju. (translates into "like the first time" OW!) read more

Food is good and great to go with a group of friends. However, if you are looking for service this is not the place. Went last sunday and it took 45 minutes just for them to bring our drinks. Considering they were not busy at all, this really made us angry. I think we might have gone at the wrong time during a transition at around 4 PM because there was only 2 people working. Once we brought this up to the manager, we started to get taken care of. Another issue with this place that you must be aware of, we parked the car in the lot that specifically said parking for Moodaepo II. There was no sign or any parking attendant. While we are eating our food, this man comes to each table and asks for the car keys, we asked why, he said he just wants to move the cars around to fit more cars. We walk out of the restaurant and the guy who took our keys says we owe him $2. The $2 was not the problem, it was the principle that we parked our own car and at 6 the parking attendant arrived and wanted to charge all the cars that had already been parked. Good work Moodeapo II, you have captured my heart. I hope thats how you spell heart. Anyway, I love the wide open space and the what seems like marble couter tops. Makes a great place for large parties because the tables are like on ehuge row of places to sit. The waiters dont speak english very well and that seems to add to the authenticity, i think. The best meat is the Bulgogi. They have a bunch of other types of meats, obviously. You must get the baby octopus, i think that was the hook line and sinker for me beacuse where the hell else would they bring you raw baby octopusm and let you grill it, then dip it into some delivcious sauces as well as hot sauce then EAT IT!! (oh, another korean bbq spot?) Thats beside the point! Valet is two bucks which is A-ok. They bring out a bunch of other side stuff(hint: to fill you up cuz its cheaper than meat) but they wont fool me, im going straight for the meat, and if you think that sounds gay, then by meat i mean pastrami. I visited this restaurant on a Tuesday, and despite the slow evening, we were promptly seated. The food was amazing esp the bonchon. However, the portion sizes are gigantic. I found it challenging to explore other meat options because of the size of the servings. Even when I requested a half order, I was still presented with a substantial plate of meat. Unfortunately, the service left much to be desired. Our server forgot a few items and barely checked on our table. We waited approximately 15 minutes before being able to place our second round of orders, and to our surprise, another server arrived with our check instead. It would have greatly enhanced our dining experience if the servers were more attentive and efficient. In addition, I inadvertently double-tipped due to an automatic gratuity. It would be helpful if there were a sign indicating that gratuity is added for parties of three, as I would have refrained from tipping again had I been aware of this policy. read more

Can't believe this place even has this high of an user rating. Don't write a review if you experienced this place under the influence--you're not doing anyone favors. This restaurant--other than the pricing--SUCKS. The old overused adage, "You get what you pay for," has never been so true with Moodaepo. On top of low-quality dining, the owner is a class-A b*tch--you can tell too by the way the service is (they don't want to be there). When our party of 8 had a problem with getting 2 wrong meats and the wrong beer, our waiter went back and told the owner. By this time, I had to use the restroom and what do I hear? That b*tch saying, "Geuh nyang cheuh muhk jee, sagahji um neun guht deul." And I know she was talking about us because the waiter listed off OUR items. Then she has the nerve to come to our table, fake a smile, make fake moon eyes and ask, "Oh, what was wrong with your order?" F U!!!!!!!!!! In summary, I am never coming back. read more

Beware, this place don't serve free water and they don't allow you to bring in your own water. They do charge $2 for a small bottle. The owner is really taking advantage of pandemic to upselling the water. He leave customer with no choice but force them to pay extra for water on top of AYCE KBBQ charge. They give you a cheap small plastic plate. Hot meat will likely going through it and you will eating melted plastic. The outdoor eating is not really clean as they put spoon and chopsticks on a dirty table. Their grill is not really cleaned, there is a small hold in the middle of the grill and we noticed that lots of juice from our meat didn't go out from the grill. The server had to insert the chopstick into a hole and remove remaining meat (from previous customers) from the grill. This is so gross! If the previous guess have been infected with covid, you will likely be infected from it too. I will never go back to this place again! read more

I had an incredibly disappointing experience at Moodaepo. From the moment we walked in, the service was absolutely terrible. The workers were rude, ignored us multiple times, and seemed more interested in their phones or the TV than actually doing their jobs. The ambiance was okay, but that didn't make up for the awful service. At one point, we went up to the bar, unknowing it was only for workers, and got yelled at with no warning. To top it all off, the food was just as bad--both the brisket and beef belly tasted off, making the entire meal unpleasant. What made the experience even worse was that they automatically included the tip despite the horrible service. It felt completely undeserved, and we had no choice in the matter. Between the inattentive staff, poor service, bad food, and forced tip, this place was a complete waste of time and money. I won't be coming back, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. read more

I guess it's cruel to all the cows they kill that they call this place moo, but hey, they didn't ask me. Eek methinks not is right. They tried to force me to valet, but bribed me with spot in their lot. I shouldn't have, but I took it. Where are my principles? A long wait, especially if your whole party's not there. Stupid late friends. At least you can order right away, and 3 items at a time. We tried to be strategic, getting different kinds of meat with each order. It doesn't look In-N-Out fresh, if you know what I mean. Freezer burn! Hot noodle soup at the end. I wish they'd have told us, I would've tried to pace myself, then. Pushing the buttons to bring the waiters seemed to have no effect, and the Hispanic guys who did the harder work of replacing the pans seemed more attentive than the Asian waiters. Boooo.
