The good: I'm over the moon for Moon Donuts! I ordered customized letter donuts that read "Here Comes the Son" for my baby shower. It was easy to order through Instagram and was around $53. They were very flexible and asked for my design ideas and inspo. The donuts were tasty and not overly sweet. They were light and not heavy in oil nor did they have too much frosting. I look forward to ordering from them again. The bad: They weren't always the most responsive thru IG. I wish they had an online ordering form. I was hoping they'd incorporate "Sun" shapes or theme a little more than just the color scheme but I think next time I'll just be more specific. The interesting: I ordered donuts for the day after national donut day! read more

A half dozen of donuts costs $10. Overpriced. There are fancy donuts like Cookie Monster, colorful cornflakes sprinkle etc but I only picked simple ones for to go. Donuts I got were not so different from other reasonable priced donuts. I might try fancy ones next time but I'm not sure. Plenty of parking and some delivery options as well. read more

YUMMY DONUTS AND BREKKY CROISANT SANDWICHES! I've been here a number of times since moving and it's within walking distance and it never disappoints! Busy donut shop. I come here since it's very close to my house. Plus, the donut selection is massive! I like their Vietnamese iced coffee. Not too sweet. Made perfect for my liking. Nice neighborhood ma & pa shop. Parking lot is small however. read more

I bought donuts on New Years Eve for my family and my sister's family who were visiting from a different state and the donuts tasted old and hard. I called the store and spoke to TY who was very nice and apologized and said we are closed on New Year's Day and to bring them on Friday so he could give me fresh ones. I went in today and there is a lady by the name Lisa working and she went against what TY had told me and was extremely extremely rude and was yelling at TY and said that he is new and doesn't know anything. I am very disappointed because I have been going to this donut shop for years and she said told me "I don't care if you don't come back here." Lisa is not fit to manage the store when the owner is not there. She is very unprofessional. She also should not be talking to TY or any co worker in that time in front of customers. read more

Mmmmmm... donuts! So deliciously tasty. Wide variety. Small little shop in a little plaza in Redondo Beach. There's a small parking lot with free parking. Arrive early on weekends to avoid standing in a long line. Delicious freshly squeezed orange juice. This donut shop is a hidden gem for locals and a must try! read more

My daughter was so excited to try this places donuts. When she bit into it, she saw this big long hair in it. We didn't have time to go back because we went on vacation. We took a photo of the hairy donut and called to ask if we could get our money back ($6.00) for the donut. They wanted the physical donut or would do nothing. I explained that we didn't have the donut and just the picture. The lady started screaming and yelling at me, "saying no donut no refund and that she didn't care about me". I let her know I'd be placing this review and she screamed at me that she didn't care. This place needs some customer service training and how to work with customers and maybe wear some hair nets so hair isn't in the food. read more

Best donut shop around!! Last minute, I was looking for a desert to take to work the following morning. Automatically I thought of cupcakes but then remembered moon donuts offered happy birthday donuts. I texted them at 6pm to hopefully get donuts for the next morning at 7:20am. Hmmm... I drove a half hour out of my way because this place had such rave reviews. What a letdown. The shop was on a corner and the building green which stood out as easy to find. The doors were literally open giving off a friendly vibe. Donuts were colorful and plentiful and visually appealing. I got half a dozen (4 glazed and 2 specialty). The guy working said $8.75 but when I went to pay with credit card he mumbles how they prefer cash. So I attempted to pay in cash but only had $5-6 so said sorry and sheepishly stuck my card back out. He then says "oh not $8.75 its $8.95 plus extra charge for cc fee so $9.45". Whatever bleh. I was still excited hoping they taste good because then I have my new shop as I love to bring donuts for kids events. I judge based on glazed donuts and I'm sorry but it was awful. So many different flavors of donuts - flavors with cute designs on each of them! I love their selection of breakfast burritos and croissants! You get so much value in whatever you get here :) Service is quick since they have a lot of people there to take care of you - so service is great! They keep the place very clean and its a quaint spot. I can see lines go out the door and its in a strip mall area, but there's strip mall parking and street parking. Definitely recommend! read more

37-year resident here. I've been going to Moon Donuts for over three decades and have always found them to be close to outstanding in nearly every way. It's been my go-to place--especially when I want to pick up a box or two to take to the police or fire department as a gesture of appreciation for their service. Unfortunately, today's experience was very different. The frosting on all the cake donuts looked carelessly applied--none of that glossy, precise finish we've come to expect over the years. I ordered a jelly donut and a cake donut. The cake donut had frosting haphazardly splattered on it. The jelly donut's glaze looked uneven, with patchy sugar blotches. But the real shock came when I took a bite of the jelly donut: inside was a black spider, swimming in the red jelly. I immediately returned it to the cashier, who politely asked if I'd like a replacement. Of course, I did--but I left feeling unsettled. Sadly, it seems the quality at Moon Donuts has changed. The donuts sloppy exterior and surprising interior now reflects a deeper issue. Something's just not right. read more

Local donut shop in the small strip mall. Parking is limited but the turnover is high you probably will find a spot soon enough. Cambodian owner makes various donuts. I saw the Thai tea donut and asked where they are from. They do try to update their menu to include new things like cronuts, UBE and such. They did not have a lot of fancy cronuts left but I liked the Nutella cronut. I am a Danish fan so I probably preferred a regular Danish as it is lighter but I would love to try their fancy cronuts next time I'd they have any left! Blueberry cheesecake one or the strawberry with whipped cream looked pretty but a gentleman waiting behind me really wanted them and I kind of felt bad and let him order those. Apple fritter is in a generous portion and the hint of cinnamon is nice but I would prefer other kinds here. They have many different kinds so pick your favorite! Overal quality was good but the pricing on Yelp seems much lower than what the menu is. If you preorder, you could get letter donuts like HAPPY BIRTHDAY ie shape of an H. That would be a fun way to surprise the birthday boy/girl! We didn't need any drinks but you could also order drinks like boba here along with donuts. No seating. We dropped by as we we're waiting for our friends at Hainan chicken sharing the same parking lot. read more

Very nice selection of donuts. Fun stuff for the kiddos and grown ups. They have donuts, donut holes, and cronuts. My favorite was the ube crumb. I've never seen that flavor before at any other donut shop. Service was friendly & quick. Parking lot is super tiny, but hopefully your visit is perfectly timed so you find a spot and are easily in and out. read more

Oh my gosh! Oh so good! We love Moon Donuts and have been going for years! The donuts are very, very fresh. Their filled donuts are plump with the fillings, whether custard or fruit ... they do not skimp, as others do. Don't forget the apple fritter!!! Went on a Sunday at 11 or so, there was no line. Donuts were soft and fresh, so good! We had a cronut, coffee, maple bar, and maple bacon. My first cronut, sweet and flaky. Will need to try the ube donut next time, so many choices, so little time. Vietnamese iced coffee was pretty good too. read more

Yes, yes get them! You won't be sorry. LA has tons of really good donut shops, and these rank right on up there. They are so fluffy, not overly sweet but sweet enough. There's always a little bit of a line but get there at around 10a and it'll be fine. It's so worth it. Interesting donut trivia: someone I knew used to date a donut shop owner/maker and he was mentioning the reason why these type donuts are so fluffy is because they only use egg whites (or mostly egg whites) which gives them these perfectly pillowy textures read more

During my freebies birthday run yesterday, I was planning on going to Old Ferry Donut after picking up a boba next door, only to find the shop closed. ＼(｀0´)／ Known for unique flavors & vibrant retro-pop 70s branding (cute hamster mascot with bold orange & brilliant blue colors; it's featured on 2-/4-donut boxes), this Korean-inspired premium donut shop originated in Seoul a decade ago before expanding to several S. CA locations, opening in Torrance a couple of years ago. OFD's donuts are popular for its rich creams & chewy dough; Butter Pistachio & Crème Brûlée are just 2 of their signature flavors. I was going through a donut phase when I initially stopped by Old Ferry Donut. Large windows let lots of light in, & once you step across the threshold, you're hit with a strong K-pop vibe & loud music. They even had a collab with SEVENTEEN last fall during their tour with 2 flavors: Marble Strawberry & Blue Coconut! Unlike the regular mom & pop's or commercialized donut shops, they don't offer a discounted 1/2 or full dozen box. After asking what's their most popular picks, I chose Butter Pistachio & Crème Brûlée, & added Lemon Poppyseed & Raspberry Ring for myself, Cookies & Cream & Boston Cream for the kiddos. Service was alright... I didn't need a sales pitch, but would like some info on the donuts to make an informed decision since they're at a premium price even though they're not "freshly made" (every hour or less) like SD&C just down the street. The Butter Pistachio is a major hit... fluffy & light, a slightly chewy yeasty donut stuffed with a mildly sweet whipped pistachio cream filling & topped with a salty-sweet buttery streusel... how can you not be addicted? And totally worth it! Crème Brûlée is also popular for its delicate, crackly caramelized sugar crust & airy brioche dough that's filled with a rich vanilla custard. Good flavor, but maybe on the older side? Since it's been sitting for awhile, it lost that fresh fluffy texture & was kinda dry. I really liked the Lemon Poppyseed; it's right up there with Butter Pistachio. The lemon glaze is just the right amount of sweet & tart, & the donut was fresh & fluffy! The Raspberry Ring is pretty good, matching that sweet & tart of Lemon Poppyseed, but I like the citrus zing of the latter more. What's different is the former has a raspberry jam filling in addition to a glaze & the latter is just a yeast donut with fruity glaze. Kids didn't say much about Cookies & Cream & Boston Cream... I figure you can't go wrong with these flavors. The filling might have been a bit much as I saw the cream oozing out of the donut & onto my LO's face & shirt. The vegan strawberry matcha is a sleeper hit--the strawberry glaze smells like a field of ripe berries and actually makes you pause before the first bite, with the matcha keeping it grounded. They only had two raised that day, but both delivered. Vanilla was soft and airy, and the huckleberry had that bright tart-sweet glaze with zero fake flavor. Only note: don't over-order. And for this reason, restaurants should be extra careful). I was given a plain ham and cheese croissant, not Jalepeño, which I personally don't care for. Extremely disappointing considering how much I love this item. To add insult to injury, the pastry I received implies, in my opinion, that the employee who made it does not care about their job--The croissant had two tiny, bunched up and hard pieces of ham, just on one side of the croissant, and no cheese inside. It was extremely bland, not what I ordered, and absolutely not worth any amount of money. I threw it away after one bite. I will be purchasing from Randy's munch less often because after this experience, I no longer trust their standards and I won't always have the opportunity to quality check my order. And I shouldn't have to.

Chocolate milk will be a fun surprise to go along with those donuts. I preferred something savory and went with jalapeño ham and cheese croissant, which was just the right size and heat. But I was also intensely curious to try the glazed Crondy - so I got one! All the donuts are beautiful, huge and delicious! They hit the spot! So in the end, I didn't get to use the rewards I had earned or earn any new ones, but I still got donuts! I will point out that I've never had any issues ordering with their website that is always super easy and reliable. I hope that whatever is up with the app can be fixed or updated (I didn't even tell you about trying to order ahead yesterday and just pick up). But it says something that we kept trying. These donuts are worth it!

Service wasn't speedy, and the chatter at the front of the line wasn't the right optics when you want to grab and go (especially knowing my order was ready). A five minute wait wasn't horrible, nor will it ruin my day. I grabbed the bright orange box that was handed to me and went on my way. At home I poured a fresh cup of piping hot Peet's Coffee, opened the box, snapped a shot and grabbed my most favorite donut of all. The plain. I've said it before and I'll say it again: I judge all donuts by the plain type. If the plain isn't great, no amount of glaze, icing, filling, or fancy toppings will make a donut great. After the first bite, I did not get any sense that this little guy was made fresh early this morning. It didn't taste bad, it just didn't have that fresh pillowy texture I love plain donuts to have. I dunno. Maybe it's me. Maybe donuts are no longer a favorite. Maybe I've had the best and nothing will ever compare. Maybe aliens are among us. Maybe Moon Pies will come back. Good in a pinch, the office crew will dig 'em and let's face it, the nostalgia alone is worth it. Sort of.

When Kirari West Bake Shop (refer to Review #290) opened sister bakery, Confections by Kirari West, a couple of years ago, I bookmarked them for a visit but didn't get around to it until I saw them on 2026 DineLA. The confections bakery also sits in King Harbor Plaza, but south of its sister between Glaze Craze & King Harbor Spa, serving all-day breakfast, burger, sandwiches, & pizzas with teas, coffees, & smoothies. According to Andrew, KWBS bakes bread for CBKW & CBKW bakes treats & doughnuts for KWBS. Still not quite understanding the difference because KWBS also serves breakfast but in sandwiches & french toasts, & paninis, sandwiches, & salads. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Initially focused solely on baked goods: artisan breads, scones, & Bake-At-Home gluten-free flour mixes, CBKW has evolved their menu to include sandwiches, pizza, quinoa bowls, & smoothies. The DineLA menu offered 3 options, & I deliberated between pancakes & chicken burger. I chose the Blueberry Cinnamon Pancakes because they looked fluffy & divine in the owner pic; it includes 2 Bacon Strips & 2 Eggs (cooked sunny-side up). And picked an Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte with less ice for my drink. It was quiet for an early lunch, & a couple of ladies walked in after I finished ordering. The bakery cafe has its cozy charm with a lovely black & white mural on the right long wall that's great for selfies or social posts. There's 4 2-tops & counter seating facing the plaza/parking lot, no restroom (assuming sister KWBS will let you use theirs), & plenty of parking though it'll be challenging during lunch & dinner rush with so many eateries in the plaza. Andrew makes an awesomely refreshing Strawberry Matcha Latte that rivals those from boba shops! Balanced sweetness with earthy, grassy matcha & generous dollops of real, sweet strawberry purée... soooooo good! Though smaller & a bit pricier than boba shops, it's a top-notch drink. My pancakes came shortly after; smells great but looks nothing like the pic, not fluffy, not golden. I love eating pancakes no matter the time of day, & these Blueberry Cinnamon Pancakes had comforting notes of cinnamony warmth with random sweet bursts of blueberries. The texture is notably moist & airy, & not reminiscent of typical gluten-free foods which are dry & dense. Typical bacon & eggs, nothing unusual... I prefer thick cut bacon & on the crisper side, but the eggs were perfectly cooked, the whites were set with a runny yolk & crisp, brown edges. It was just enough to satisfy my hunger & quench my thirst. I'm lucky that I don't have any food allergies or restrictions. People with celiac disease require a gluten-free diet, & cooking/baking challenges stem from the lack of gluten for moisture, elasticity, & structure. Customers should know that Confections by Kirari West is a dedicated gluten-free bakery, so there's no worries of cross-contamination. I don't know how Chef Hiro Saito creates this tasty, gluten-free deliciousness here & KWBS... he uses high quality rice flour instead of wheat to create his delectable pastries. Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of places that have it; however, this is one of the better options for the sweet treat. I like to keep it simple with a glazed (sugar) mochi donut. The mochi donuts, made from rice flour, are known for their characteristic chewiness that they have. There isn't really anything like it. At $3-$4 per donut, it is a little pricey; however, I do find that they are worth it! Overall, I think the donuts are good and there aren't a lot of places that have good mochi donut options. (Unfortunately many of the best mochi donut shops have not been able to stay open for the long term). If you do buy the donuts, just make sure you eat it while it's relatively fresh, because they aren't good when they go stale. The food court at Mitsuwa market is very underrated and I think this is a great contributor to the outstanding, hidden food court of Japanese foods at the Del Amo mall.
