Love their regular donuts. Light and fluffy. We went around noon and there weren't a lot of the regular donuts left. There were plenty of specialty ones left tho. I've tried the specialty ones before and they were a lil mediocre but the designs on them are nice and eye catching. If you go with a child, they give out one donut hole for free.

tl;dr the crummy cronuts and premium prices at this neighborhood favorite overshadow the otherwise solid fritter Donut shops are never more than a stone's throw away across Los Angeles, and every Angeleno has their neighborhood favorite. A popular local spot is Moon Donut in Torrance. This family-run bakery is best known for its custard-filled donut varieties, but the dizzying selection makes picking just one donut a challenge. Moon Donuts shares a lime-green strip mall with a smoke shop and a chicken shop. But on a weekend morning, all of the bustle is donut-focused; expect a steady stream of customers. The interior is brightly lit, industrial, and a little run-down. Shelves upon shelves of donuts are neatly organized in the displays to the right, while a short refrigerator section to the left is filled with grab-and-go beverages. The hot menu is displayed on flat screens behind the counter, and coffee fixings are stacked on a stainless-steel shelf in the corner. My partner and I arrived mid-morning on a Sunday, and the staff were quick to take our order. We decided on an Apple Fritter and a Cookie Cronut. Moon's fritter was unlike any I've ever had. Uniquely, it was filled with walnuts, but the apple flavor was minimal; perhaps the donut would be more aptly described as a "cinnamon-walnut fritter". The dough was dense, crispy, and syrupy (all pros to me), but the absence of apple held this fritter back from being one of my favorites across LA. Meanwhile, the cronut was an ambitious and delicious-sounding option that fell flat in practice. The cookie was overcooked and mostly tasteless, while the donut was essentially just a ring-shaped croissant; both components were inferior to something I could buy at Costco. Rarely do I leave a donut on the table (especially a premium and expensive one like this), but I simply couldn't choke this one down. Service was efficient, and our total clocked in above $9 (taking into account Moon's credit card surcharge). While the fritter had its positives, the cronut was simply unpalatable. As such, I will probably steer clear of Moon in the future, even if I'm already in the neighborhood.

SO YUMMY! I am somewhat of a donut snob...and these were so fresh and delicious! The prices are great too for donuts with such great flavors and presentation. Staff was friendly and service was quick even with the small line that was there when we arrived. Small lot but no issue finding a parking spot. Will be back! I saw they also do custom donuts!

Amazing donuts for our faculty meeting. Donuts were fresh, and delicious. Service was fast and friendly. Moon donuts is close to my work site and always a hit.

Quite literally the best donuts. Especially the apple fritter, cronut, and maple bars!!! The customer service is A1 and their hours are unbeatable. They always let you know when they have fresh donuts coming out throughout the day and we will definitely be back tomorrow. This is literally how we felt when we got our donut order!

Delicious donuts. Interesting flavors. The maple bacon are bomb!!! Loved the red velvet and smores flavors too. Take out only, counter service, no seating. Fresh OJ, milk, sodas and coffee too. Best donuts in SoCal

Date: June 15, 2025 It was Father's Day and we were in the area on the way to redondo beach and wanted a little snack. I originally wanted some sweet bread but there's nothing in the area so I suggested donuts. We passed by moon donuts on the way to the pier so we stopped by. They have two different kinds of donuts. A 'regular' fridge and a 'fancy' fridge. The regular ones are the plain sugar, glaze, chocolate and sprinkles like you normally see at a donut shop and the fancier ones have different flavors like ube, cream, sprinkles/toppings, and so much more. We got a half dozen (11.99$) and thought we could pick anything but it's only out of the regular fridge. So we got those. She gave us 3 donut holes for my kids which was super sweet. The fancier donuts are priced at 3.50$ each. Which isn't bad but for what we wanted, it was out of our price range. But I will definitely be back to try some of those! They also do custom donuts too! The donuts were SUPER fluffy and so soft and so delicious!!! The sugar one was just *chef's kiss*. And the glaze was amazing ! We devoured them so quickly I wish we got a dozen! Thank you so much for a great first visit. We will definitely be back!

Love coming here! Their donuts are bomb, but I'd say I love their breakfast even more! Their breakfast burritos and very big and filling for such a good price. Such a good hole in the wall!

Best donuts in Town! Stop by here a lot but this is the first time I got to do a review! They have choices upon choices for donuts; chocolate, glazed, sprinkles you name it! They have lots to choose from, and all sorts of decorative donuts for your choosing! Leon helped me pick out my batch and I can say he was very helpful, and was able to pick the donuts (some I never would have picked myself) and they all tasted great! They get really busy in the morning so try and grab your donuts before the rush, very clean and kept tidy for every customer. A little small but that's okay because they are very speedy with service! If I could give a 10 out of 10 I would! Definitely a donut lovers paradise!

Moon donuts will always and forever be my favorite donut place. When I'm in the mood for a delicious doughnut no other place will do. This is my go to when I need a sweet treat that's always perfection. They do the specialty donuts so well but the classics are always my favorite. You can never go wrong with a glazed twist or a chocolate doughnut and some donut holes. The service is top notch and they are so kind all the time. I also like seeing the regulars just enjoying their donuts. I never have a hard time finding parking in their lot either.

The croissants were amazing. They did not skimp on any of the ingredients and the donuts are always a hit! They even threw in the two glazed donuts for us. Great customer service and food! Thank you, Moon Donuts!

We wanted to get our friend birthday donuts as a last minute gift. I was able to place the order the night before and pick up by 8:30-9 am the next day. We were able to personalize the letters, icing, and toppings. The shop is simple and small but had a great variety of donuts. We were happy with the custom order and are excited to share this with our friend. You can tell they put a lot of time and effort into the donuts. The toppings are neatly arranged and made the donuts look great.

During my freebies birthday run yesterday, I was planning on going to Old Ferry Donut after picking up a boba next door, only to find the shop closed. \(`0´)/ Known for unique flavors & vibrant retro-pop 70s branding (cute hamster mascot with bold orange & brilliant blue colors; it's featured on 2-/4-donut boxes), this Korean-inspired premium donut shop originated in Seoul a decade ago before expanding to several S. CA locations, opening in Torrance a couple of years ago. OFD's donuts are popular for its rich creams & chewy dough; Butter Pistachio & Crème Brûlée are just 2 of their signature flavors. I was going through a donut phase when I initially stopped by Old Ferry Donut. Large windows let lots of light in, & once you step across the threshold, you're hit with a strong K-pop vibe & loud music. They even had a collab with SEVENTEEN last fall during their tour with 2 flavors: Marble Strawberry & Blue Coconut! Unlike the regular mom & pop's or commercialized donut shops, they don't offer a discounted 1/2 or full dozen box. After asking what's their most popular picks, I chose Butter Pistachio & Crème Brûlée, & added Lemon Poppyseed & Raspberry Ring for myself, Cookies & Cream & Boston Cream for the kiddos. Service was alright... I didn't need a sales pitch, but would like some info on the donuts to make an informed decision since they're at a premium price even though they're not "freshly made" (every hour or less) like SD&C just down the street. The Butter Pistachio is a major hit... fluffy & light, a slightly chewy yeasty donut stuffed with a mildly sweet whipped pistachio cream filling & topped with a salty-sweet buttery streusel... how can you not be addicted? And totally worth it! Crème Brûlée is also popular for its delicate, crackly caramelized sugar crust & airy brioche dough that's filled with a rich vanilla custard. Good flavor, but maybe on the older side? Since it's been sitting for awhile, it lost that fresh fluffy texture & was kinda dry. I really liked the Lemon Poppyseed; it's right up there with Butter Pistachio. The lemon glaze is just the right amount of sweet & tart, & the donut was fresh & fluffy! The Raspberry Ring is pretty good, matching that sweet & tart of Lemon Poppyseed, but I like the citrus zing of the latter more. What's different is the former has a raspberry jam filling in addition to a glaze & the latter is just a yeast donut with fruity glaze. Kids didn't say much about Cookies & Cream & Boston Cream... I figure you can't go wrong with these flavors. The filling might have been a bit much as I saw the cream oozing out of the donut & onto my LO's face & shirt. His sister was slightly better at containing the custard blob. LOL With premium prices, It's debatable if Old Ferry's donuts are worth it... quality, freshness, & size. Hmmm... I like them & their creative flavors, but they're a tad too sweet & not as "fresh" in comparison to SD&C. Sad to see Old Ferry Donut permanently gone from the South Bay, but they still have locations in San Gabriel & Buena Park if you're willing to take a drive. Recommended: Boston Cream $3.95 Butter Pistachio $4.95 Cookies & Cream $3.95 Crème Brûlée $4.95 Lemon Poppyseed $3.95 Raspberry Ring $3.95

And for this reason, restaurants should be extra careful). I was given a plain ham and cheese croissant, not Jalepeño, which I personally don't care for. Extremely disappointing considering how much I love this item. To add insult to injury, the pastry I received implies, in my opinion, that the employee who made it does not care about their job--The croissant had two tiny, bunched up and hard pieces of ham, just on one side of the croissant, and no cheese inside. It was extremely bland, not what I ordered, and absolutely not worth any amount of money. I threw it away after one bite. I will be purchasing from Randy's munch less often because after this experience, I no longer trust their standards and I won't always have the opportunity to quality check my order. And I shouldn't have to.

Because like I said, once you have the craving for Randy's, you need to see that through. My daughter wanted the Nutella raised, and I also got her the fruity pebbles raised. Chocolate milk will be a fun surprise to go along with those donuts. I preferred something savory and went with jalapeño ham and cheese croissant, which was just the right size and heat. Absent an answer to that question, I will admit donuts in the morning with a cup if my Peet's Coffee is usually a luxury to which I look forward. I knew I would be dropping my bestie at LAX so it wasn't out of the way to stop at Randy's. Like any self respecting lazy shopper, I ordered online the night before. None of the buttermilk/old fashioned options were available for online ordering but (surprise!) all of the buttermilk/old fashioned varieties were abundant in the glass case this morning. What's up with that? I was in the shop promptly at 929am for my confirmed pick-up at 930am. There was a line. Service wasn't speedy, and the chatter at the front of the line wasn't the right optics when you want to grab and go (especially knowing my order was ready). A five minute wait wasn't horrible, nor will it ruin my day. I grabbed the bright orange box that was handed to me and went on my way. At home I poured a fresh cup of piping hot Peet's Coffee, opened the box, snapped a shot and grabbed my most favorite donut of all. The plain. I've said it before and I'll say it again: I judge all donuts by the plain type. If the plain isn't great, no amount of glaze, icing, filling, or fancy toppings will make a donut great. After the first bite, I did not get any sense that this little guy was made fresh early this morning. It didn't taste bad, it just didn't have that fresh pillowy texture I love plain donuts to have. I dunno. Maybe it's me. Maybe donuts are no longer a favorite. Maybe I've had the best and nothing will ever compare. Maybe aliens are among us. Maybe Moon Pies will come back. Good in a pinch, the office crew will dig 'em and let's face it, the nostalgia alone is worth it. Sort of.

DineLA Food & Drink Order ($15): Breakfast Plate: Blueberry Cinnamon Pancakes with 2 Bacon Strips & 2 Eggs (sunny-side up) $15.95 Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte $6.95 Server/Bartender: Andrew I have been a long time fan of Kirari West Bake Shop when it opened with much fanfare as a 100% gluten-free Japanese bakery with treats that defy the common undesirable traits of gluten-free goods: dense, dry, &/or gritty. When Kirari West Bake Shop (refer to Review #290) opened sister bakery, Confections by Kirari West, a couple of years ago, I bookmarked them for a visit but didn't get around to it until I saw them on 2026 DineLA. The confections bakery also sits in King Harbor Plaza, but south of its sister between Glaze Craze & King Harbor Spa, serving all-day breakfast, burger, sandwiches, & pizzas with teas, coffees, & smoothies. According to Andrew, KWBS bakes bread for CBKW & CBKW bakes treats & doughnuts for KWBS. Still not quite understanding the difference because KWBS also serves breakfast but in sandwiches & french toasts, & paninis, sandwiches, & salads. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Initially focused solely on baked goods: artisan breads, scones, & Bake-At-Home gluten-free flour mixes, CBKW has evolved their menu to include sandwiches, pizza, quinoa bowls, & smoothies. The DineLA menu offered 3 options, & I deliberated between pancakes & chicken burger. I chose the Blueberry Cinnamon Pancakes because they looked fluffy & divine in the owner pic; it includes 2 Bacon Strips & 2 Eggs (cooked sunny-side up). And picked an Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte with less ice for my drink. It was quiet for an early lunch, & a couple of ladies walked in after I finished ordering. The bakery cafe has its cozy charm with a lovely black & white mural on the right long wall that's great for selfies or social posts. There's 4 2-tops & counter seating facing the plaza/parking lot, no restroom (assuming sister KWBS will let you use theirs), & plenty of parking though it'll be challenging during lunch & dinner rush with so many eateries in the plaza. Andrew makes an awesomely refreshing Strawberry Matcha Latte that rivals those from boba shops! Balanced sweetness with earthy, grassy matcha & generous dollops of real, sweet strawberry purée... soooooo good! Though smaller & a bit pricier than boba shops, it's a top-notch drink. My pancakes came shortly after; smells great but looks nothing like the pic, not fluffy, not golden. I love eating pancakes no matter the time of day, & these Blueberry Cinnamon Pancakes had comforting notes of cinnamony warmth with random sweet bursts of blueberries. The texture is notably moist & airy, & not reminiscent of typical gluten-free foods which are dry & dense. Typical bacon & eggs, nothing unusual... I prefer thick cut bacon & on the crisper side, but the eggs were perfectly cooked, the whites were set with a runny yolk & crisp, brown edges. It was just enough to satisfy my hunger & quench my thirst. I'm lucky that I don't have any food allergies or restrictions. People with celiac disease require a gluten-free diet, & cooking/baking challenges stem from the lack of gluten for moisture, elasticity, & structure. Customers should know that Confections by Kirari West is a dedicated gluten-free bakery, so there's no worries of cross-contamination. I don't know how Chef Hiro Saito creates this tasty, gluten-free deliciousness here & KWBS... he uses high quality rice flour instead of wheat to create his delectable pastries. On 07/2025, CBKW along with sister KWBS were both designated as a Blue Zones Project Approved Restaurant. This means they're certified to offer healthier, longevity-focused menu options based on plant-slant & whole-food principles like those in Okinawa, Japan or Sardinia, Italy. Quality ingredients... craftsmanship... & sincerity... check, check, & check!! Yeah, I got you in my corner Confections by Kirari West! Recommended: Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte, Blueberry Cinnamon Pancakes with Bacon & Eggs.

Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of places that have it; however, this is one of the better options for the sweet treat. I like to keep it simple with a glazed (sugar) mochi donut. The mochi donuts, made from rice flour, are known for their characteristic chewiness that they have. There isn't really anything like it. At $3-$4 per donut, it is a little pricey; however, I do find that they are worth it! Overall, I think the donuts are good and there aren't a lot of places that have good mochi donut options. (Unfortunately many of the best mochi donut shops have not been able to stay open for the long term). If you do buy the donuts, just make sure you eat it while it's relatively fresh, because they aren't good when they go stale. The food court at Mitsuwa market is very underrated and I think this is a great contributor to the outstanding, hidden food court of Japanese foods at the Del Amo mall.
