One of my favorite coffee cafes in Orange County. Their avocado toast is simple but delicious, the macadamia nut French toast is fluffy and buttery with a touch of sweet and their matcha spritzer with lavender cold foam is so refreshing and light. The greenhouse location in Costa Mesa has a lovely greenhouse feel and patio to enjoy the summer days.

This is the best coffee in Costa Mesa! Our daughter highly recommends this place and she's not wrong. Little more pricey than endless coffee but hands down better! Our flat white, cortoda and scone was delicious

It's a great atmosphere with quick service. There outdoor seating and good amount of outlets on tables. I have tried their hot lattes and enjoyed the taste. The seasonal watermelon matcha latte was pretty good but watermelon taste is not as strong. I personally like it like this because artificial flavors can be too much. Alternative milks are extra but download their app! They also have good lunch items. Overall great place.

Came for the first time to work remotely for a few hours. The outlet seating wasn't as prominent as o would have expected from such a heavy remote worker spot. I had to wait for someone to leave to move over to a spot, but not the end of the world. The vibe is very airy, modern and I love all the decor, plants and industrial vibe. They do play music pretty loudly which is good for grinding but def needed my noise cancelation headphones for a meeting. I ordered their churro latte iced and it was actually amazing. I didn't end up getting food but there was a constant stream of people ordering and it picked up at lunch so I'd love to return to try.

This coffee shop is tucked in with an unassuming storefront. Easy to miss as you drive by as it doesn't have the typical big coffee signage. Inside is a café inspired by natural accents with an industrial flair giving a rustic character with modern style. The vibe inside is chill with plenty of seating for groups or singles. They also have an outdoor area with covered seating surrounded by plants. The menu delivers just as much appeal as the setting. They have an expansive list of coffee, tea, and lattes with several modifiers to choose from. To accompany your drink the menu provides options of sandwiches, bagels, and a variety of pastries. I had the smoked salmon bagel, featuring delicate slices of salmon layered over cream cheese spread, topped with capers and fresh chives. This is my go to for coffee houses that offer it. The bagel exceeded my expectations and I believe the chive's subtle flavor complemented the smoked salmon really well. For drinks we tried the chai and hot chocolate. The iced chai latte was smooth and not too sweet with a dusting of cinnamon on top, but I would rate it average in taste. The hot chocolate was deliciously velvety and detailed beautifully. I would rate it a five out of five! The difference at this coffee shop is that you can choose from a range of seating arrangements and have an opportunity to support the business by picking up clothing, a bag of coffee or other merchandise. The con for this coffee shop is that the beverages are somewhat undersized relative to the price point. In addition, the customer service experience fell short. We were greeted upon entering, but it was unclear where customers should retrieve their order or whether orders numbers were called out. With that said, those looking for a quiet morning coffee or a cozy place to catch up with friends, this spot can accommodate.

Another day, another coffee shop Heard great things about MoonGoat so was excited to try today. Saw valet parking and got nervous but the guy just told me where to park. Super easy. When you enter, the location is huge! Tons of tables and seating. Nice! People are working, hanging out, and enjoying their food and drinks. I ordered a churro latte half sweet and a deluxe avocado toast. The latte was delicious. Sweetness level was just right for me. I don't like super sweet drinks. The avocado toast was also great. There was so much flavor from the egg and bacon and seasonings. It was a little hard to eat out of the to go container, but I made it work. It could easily be shared depending how hungry you are. I love that I didn't feel rushed here. It seems they expect people to come and hang out for awhile. Can't wait to return! I'm eyeing the biscuit and a matcha next time.

The truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. My new obsession is Matcha tonic and so I was so happy to find this nearby café. The inside of the café is beautiful very tranquil very serene. The barista was so sweet. She helped me place my order as a first timer. They have some seasonal drinks and she recommended that I add in strawberry watermelon into my Matcha tonic, which was great advice. The kombucha was so delicious and probably one of the best I've ever had. I really would love to return for brunch on the weekend some food that I saw coming out of the kitchen looked amazing.

After an overnight gong immersion in Costa Mesa, my friend and I were in need of coffee to kickstart our day at 6:30 am. Many coffee shops weren't opening until 8 am, but thankfully, we found MoonGoat Coffee Roasters! What a delightful little shop! The ambiance is charming with detailed art and a lovely outdoor patio space that makes it perfect for enjoying your drink. We ordered a flat white and a chai latte, they were fantastic choices! If you're in the area and looking for a great caffeine fix, I highly recommend stopping by MoonGoat. You won't be disappointed!

Spicy buttermilk biscuit. We ate in the store and wanted to order the Benedict from a previous visit. This time, the kiosk showed the full menu but the printed menu at the register only showed a few items and did not show the lunch menu. Enjoyed our decaf iced flat white in a tall glass and the deluxe avocado toast! Unfortunately, the menu item based on the buttermilk biscuit was too spicy to eat due to a hot sauce

I wanted to love this place because of all the hype, but as a matcha girl... the matcha just didn't hit for me. My friend did really enjoy her churro latte and cinnamon roll pastry though, so maybe coffee and pastries are the safer move here. Service was a little mid. It was Mother's Day, so maybe the guy working was just overwhelmed or having an off day, but he definitely seemed like he didn't want to be there. The space itself is huge and honestly probably the best part. Tons of seating inside and outside, making it a great place to get some work done or just hang out for a while. The environment was calm and quiet, which I appreciated. I also loved the art pieces on the walls and all the plants they had for sale. They offer a lot of grab and go options plus merch, which added to the overall aesthetic vibe.

    * There is a lot of seating inside and the atmosphere is fun and artsy. * There are lots of public restrooms inside, which is nice. * Their matcha is delicious... however... Their coffee isn't as great (it's definitely on the more STRONG and BITTER side). When we had went, it was very busy and so it took over 30 minutes to get our drinks, and the barista's were very rude taking our order. It was disappointing customer service. hot matcha latte 10/10 Smooth, on the sweeter side but not "in your face." Flavoring was very good and matcha wasn't grassy or grainy - very high quality. iced churro latte 0/10 Unfortunately this drink was super bitter and the espresso was so overpowering that you couldn't taste the flavoring at all. The espresso was too bold for me that I couldn't enjoy it. Tried switching it out for a vanilla latte but ended up having the same negative experience),:

The food here was warm and exactly as described. Seasonal drinks, we got the iced lavender blueberry matcha. I also tried the iced churro latte. Staff was fantastic, friendly and efficient They have indoor and outdoor seating. Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 4.8/5

After great anticipation decided to stop by moongoat and try the strawberry watermelon matcha, absolutely delicious. By far my favorite strawberry matcha blend. The cold foam mixed well with the drink and the flavor was very smooth, i didn't taste the artificial syrup like other places. Good open space to work and staff was friendly, definitely coming back

Does the costa mesa location have free wifi?

It's not free, you have to buy something and the wifi & password will be on the bottom of the receipt.

Do this place have outlets available?

It has some, but they are limited since this place gets super busy.

What is the parking situation like?

It's really convenient as they have an attached (shared) parking lot. Even though I went on a weekend morning, there was plenty of parking.

Do you still do open mic nights?

We do! Each month we host an open mic night at Docking Station, our event space next door. Keep an eye out on our Instagram for dates and times of upcoming open mic nights as well as additional events!

Bought a bag of the dark side of the moon-- for your espresso/lattes, what is the dose, extraction, and extraction time you use for them? Thanks!

Are you located in the SOHO shops?

Nope! We have a stand-alone shop visible from placentia Ave as you drive between Victoria and Wilson in Costa Mesa!

Are pets (like dogs) allowed in your coffee shop/restaurant? I was just told by the owner no Pets allowed, just want to confirm, Thx!

We do have a dog-friendly patio, but in compliance with state health code laws we are not able to accommodate non-service animals in our lobby. They are more than welcome to wait with you while you order and wait for your drink, though!

How long can we stay in your coffee shop?Like staying there to study of course after buying coffee ?is it conducive for studying?

Great please to study and work, there is no "time limit" but when you ask for the wifi password it will expire in 1 hour after activation. To be courteous I generally buy another drink and ask for another code, but you may not need to do that. They…

    Are there plugs/outlets?

    Yes

Do they have plugs for outdoor seating?

    They do not currently!

Are dogs allowed inside or only in the outdoor seating area?

Only out doors. You can order with the dog and wait for your drink with the dog but to sit you have to sit outside with the dog.

Can I hold baby first birthday party here?

Hi! For special events requests email us and we can discuss further - events@moongoat.com

Hi! Is this the address for the new coffee shop location or the warehouse?

    New coffee shop!

Is the location easy to spot?

Thanks for asking Tiffany! Our Warehouse is not easy to spot. But once you find it, it's worth it! Feel free to give us a ring if you are having trouble finding it.

Unfortunately, this visit was one disappointment after another. We arrived at 8:30 a.m. hoping for a peaceful coffee-and-breakfast morning. Instead, we accidentally wandered into what felt like a Janis Joplin tribute concert. The music was blasting at nightclub volume--not exactly the relaxing start to the day we had in mind. But surprisingly... that wasn't even the worst part. The food was incredibly disappointing. I ordered the breakfast burrito, and the potatoes were still raw--hard enough to remind me they were once part of the ground.. My husband ordered the French toast, which looked suspiciously like it took a quick detour from Trader Joe's frozen aisle before landing on our table. There's nothing wrong with frozen French toast... unless you're charging $14 and calling it brunch. Another friend ordered the granola with berries. After a few bites, he gave it a skeptical look, pushed the bowl away, and decided breakfast simply wasn't worth the gamble.
