This was undoubtedly and unfortunately the worst matcha I ever had. Having previously tried the strawberry matcha with cold foam at Moongoat's UCI location, I was eager to order it again when coming to this location, but was met with extreme disappointment and dissatisfaction. First I ordered the strawberry matcha which was $8.50 then waited for my drink. When I went up to get it, I saw it was the strawberry watermelon matcha, not the regular strawberry matcha. The barista made no note of this when taking my order, just automatically picking it without confirming if that's the one I wanted even though I didn't say watermelon. Regardless, I was willing to try it since I presumed it would be similar to what I've previously had. However, upon mixing my drink at tasting it, I found that there was little to no flavor with barely any matcha or strawberry taste. The color was a very light grey with barely any hint of green. I was severely disappointed and asked the barista to remake it and to add more matcha. I tried it again but was still unsatisfied and unhappy. Please do not order this drink or any of their matchas at this location. You will be paying for straight milk with no flavor. When you're charging customers 8.50 for a drink, I expect high quality service and products but found that not to be the case here. It felt like they were attempting a Kit Coffee style drink with the same price but lack of attention to quality or care. An additional note, I have never seen a matcha or coffee place using CRUSHED ICE with their cold foam. This was not a good decision. With every sip I was met with and even more diluted drink than it already was and couldn't event taste the cold foam by itself. Just use regular ice and avoid the quick melting from the higher surface area crushed ice. Overall I will not be coming back to this location again. Area itself was pleasant and good seating/ place to work, but when you really want a good drink that you were expecting to like and don't get that due to inconsistency, the experience is just ruined. read more

This place looked like a good work or study spot. I got a strawberry brûlée latte, my friends got a strawberry milk and a churro latte. I loved my drink, it was delicious. My friends enjoyed theirs as well but a barista led my friend a bit astray on the sizing of her latte. Other than that the service was decently quick and the options for drinks were very unique. I really needed a coffee and I really appreciate it when a place does a good job of brewing, their own coffee or have a cold brew available like these guys do. The space is bright, open, and thoughtfully designed, with plenty of natural light and lush plants throughout. I ordered the iced Churro Latte, and it absolutely delivered. Made with two shots of their house espresso, milk, house made dulce de leche, vanilla, and cinnamon, it was perfectly balanced sweet without being overpowering, warm spices shining through, and smooth espresso anchoring the whole drink. It tasted indulgent but still refined, the kind of specialty drink you keep thinking about after you've finished it. Also ordered the Biscuit Breakfast Sandwich Deluxe, and it was just as impressive. The buttermilk biscuit was soft yet sturdy, layered with bacon, a fluffy egg patty, cheddar cheese, Fresno pepper jam, and fresh arugula. The sweet heat from the pepper jam paired beautifully with the savory bacon and cheese, making every bite flavorful and satisfying. Love it! I have ADHD and it's the perfect environment to get hw done in. It's busy without being too insane. The coffee and tea is great. The food options are fun and ever changing, I honestly have no clue how their menu works but the food is good. The staff is delightful and gives wonderful recommendations. This is the second and last time I will ever be coming here. Overall the vibe is trendy and cute but the quality of their drinks are disgusting. Today I got a toasted matcha... why is a matcha brown ? Keep in mind the flavoring is horchata and should not affect the color of matcha but here we are. My client and I just finished a showing appt and I wanted to buy him a coffee so we can sit and talk about it and catch up after the holidays. The parking was kinda tough. Why is there a valet person? He ended up leaving after an hour anyway and wouldn't let us park behind him. I like places with room to park. Anyway, we got in, greeted by a nice gentleman. Ambience looked and felt nice and cozy. We got the cold brew with sea salt cream. Not my favorite. The cold brew was very acidic... so we ended up putting a whole bunch of heavy cream to balance it out. Next time, I'll try something else. It looked packed for a Friday early evening. Looked like a lot of students. We sat outside and got to play with some dogs. So it's dog-friendly! It's nice to support smaller businesses. Check them out! read more

Armed with a half open concept as movable walls and lots of glass to allow ample sunlight the ambience is simple yet modern with both indoor and outdoor seating. The service is friendly and inviting. They have a selection of both pre-made and hot food available. Tried one of their signature drinks - the Hulk Juice - which is an unique matcha drink mixed with coffee fruit that is akin to the taste of honey. Found the combination to be wonderful as was a balance of creamy, sweet, and bitter. This may be one of my favorite beverages as of late. My girlfriend introduced me to this place and I lovedddd it. I love a sweet coffee and this is definitely a very sweet one, however you do still get to taste the actual coffee which is important to me! Ambiance here is fantastic. Welcoming, eclectic, chill vibes with even better coffee. We got the churro latte along with the pumpkin koatji latte. The coffee is robust and the syrups complement the coffee, not overpower it. We did not get any food, but the choices looked AMAZING. The avocado toast looked especially enticing. Seems like MoonGoat attracts a really cool crowd - some people reading, some drawing, some doing homework, others just conversing with friends. They also have some very cool merch for sale, along with some espresso machines, matcha kits, and pre-packaged MoonGoat coffee. This place will definitely become part of my regular weekend rotation. We got the cold brew with sea salt cold foam and the churro latte with almond milk. I like that they don't up charge the house made almond milk which is definitely a plus. However the cold brew was very sweet even before mixing the foam which I thought was strange since cold brew typically isn't pre-sweetened, or maybe it was the foam that was very, very sweet. It made the drink taste off. The churro latte was spot on! Service was questionable. We got redirected since the main line which was taking too long after waiting a few minutes as second in line, which was fine however they didn't redirect us to the correct spot and then when we got to the front of the correct place a different worker told us to get to the back of the initial line which was confusing. We had to clarify that someone else initially redirected us there...at the new register they didn't have the same menus so they told us to go back to the front of the other line to find the menu. They were also restarting the registers so we spent more time doing this change than if we had just waited in the original line. Overall it felt very disorganized despite it not being too crowded or busy. I feel like the cafe could benefit with more clear placements/instructions and menus on both sides to be more efficient. The cafe looked very cute with lots of seating for working/studying! Their merch and products also looked very nice, I liked the variety offered. read more

This place is a fun place to be! Great for studying and hanging out. They have power outlets all over the place and lots of space to plop for studying/working. They were showing the World Cup on their projector which was awesome (there was no audio) and they have open mic nights occasionally. The food was delicious. I tried the iced churro latte, and it was a game-changer! The balance between the coffee and milk was perfect, and the churro flavor was subtle yet prominent enough to give it a unique twist. My friends tried the hot churro latte and a large iced latte, and they both were equally satisfied with their choices. Despite it being a Tuesday morning, the coffee shop was surprisingly busy. There was free valet parking available for customers that want to sit inside or there is 10 minute to go parking spots available as well. The only downside was that there weren't too many outlets by the bigger tables, so it was a harder for my group to find a big table with outlets for us, especially because it was so busy. The availability of Wi-Fi is for two hours per drink/purchase and each device will need a unique code to connect so if you're looking for a coffee shop where you can sit for hours at to study, this might not be the place. The coffee shop had great aesthetics, which made it an excellent spot for taking some Instagram-worthy photos. The staff was also very friendly and made us feel welcome, which added to the overall positive experience. My body when I had that first sip of the chai... left this earth straight to heaven. The barista or the tea itself put its entire bussy in that iced chai. I'm a HUGE fan of chais and noticed everywhere makes it different, this place, I don't know if it's crack or what, but I sipped so slow wishing I asked for a gallon size cup of it. It was absolutely amazing. Amazing. It had an aftertaste that made you want to continuously drink it. I wish I could have it breakfast lunch dinner and all in between. I don't care if it would shave 10 years off my lifespan it was just that good to me. Next the iced churro latte. I've had this strain of latte before from different roasters but man oh man. The interior is huge and industrial for a coffee shop. Lots of seating and plenty of college students were there studying. I ordered a pumpkin spice latte and my husband got their churro latte. The pumpkin spice latte was a little too sweet for my taste, but the churro latte was perfectly balanced with a hint of cinnamon. Let me just start by saying that we used to love moongoat, we really did - the vibe, their selection of coffee, their food. Not sure why, but the last 4 times my order was wrong every single time. No crowds, I made it a point to repeat my order twice after the first time it happened, and it's a simple hot matcha latte, but there is some kind of a ripple in the force. It's 2pm, quiet, no line. The barista/cashier was very preoccupied, the person in front of me waited to place an order, then I just stood there watching him look busy until he was ready, I was patient. I repeated the order twice. He started making it, then with the open bag of matcha walked across and grabbed the mop off the wall and handed it to someone, then stopped making my drink, then spilled someone else's order over the counter. It was like a confusion central in slow motion. And finally the other barista finished the drink and it was iced instead of hot. I asked what the most popular drinks are and he suggested the churro drink or the matcha. I got the churro as I asked someone in line about the matcha and they said it was not good quality here after already going to Japan and having matcha from there.
