Right when I entered, I was offered a sample of the Tie Guan Yin Special which comes with Tie Guan Yin oolong milk tea and brown sugar hún-kué (tapioca jelly). The sample was perfect for me so since the worker told me that the sample is made with 75% sugar, I got 75% sugar with 50% ice. I really love the texture of the tapioca jelly, which was very similar to grass jelly. The service was very friendly, and she chatted with me as I was paying. My drink was finished almost right after I paid. I enjoyed my drink inside the cafe to experience the ambiance. Since I came mid day on a weekday, it wasn't very crowded. Ugh delicious! I came back again twice in one week! And I got myself two drinks again hehe. One for later of course. The staff are super kind even tho they are busy. The first time I was lucky with no others in front of me. The second visit was on a weekend so it was quite busy but they moved relatively quickly and had samples out for tastings. The staff did actually mess up my pistachio drink as they forgot the foam. Thankfully I caught it before leaving but they fixed it quickly. I know they had a lot of stress and just like me, people were buying a lot of drinks at a time. I always leave with 3 drinks. I will definitely be back! And decor is very cute! Came here with my brother and they were giving out free samples of one of their specialty drinks! I wish that the worker offered them & described it to us-- first...before she took our order and we paid. Because it was so delicious! I went with the Pistachio Mist, 75% Sweet. I think, I'd go for regular sweetness if I were to get it again. I personally would NOT order this drink again. I don't think I'm a fan of the tea, it had a slightly roasted and savory taste to it. The pistachio foam was delicious and the presentation was beautiful. But texturally, I didn't enjoy the crushed pistachios-- drinking these had me chewing like they were styrofoam (even though they were legit pistachios). Drinks came out in a timely manner and they give you the receipt which has the number on it. They call this number out and you pick up the drinks there. I think that having another trash can by the door would be helpful. Because sometimes the area to the bathroom is cluttered with groups standing therefore getting to trash can to throw away the straw wrappers is difficult. We ordered the grapefruit boom, one at 25% and one at 75% and both were really good! I personally enjoy the 25% more for the tea flavor. The tea jelly was also very yummy. Mosa Tea recently held its soft opening over the past weekend. It replaced a Vietnamese boba tea shop that had operated out of this suite for less than two years. I don't think the location is optimal as it's in the same plaza as The Godfather, however the visibility was restricted from the roadside and only if you are traveling eastbound. The interior decor was modified with more neutral tones. The seating capacity was limited, and most of it was occupied by customers waiting for their order during my visit. There were menu stands posted outside on the sidewalk that I looked at before entering. About a half dozen offerings were available in each of the four categories of Brewed Tea, Milk Tea, Mosa Signature, and Tea with Fresh Fruits. Four Seasons Tea was listed as one of the bases. I thought it was a combination of different tea leaves, but it was actually an oolong variety from Taiwan known for its unique flavor and light flowery aroma. I tried a taste sample, and it certainly had flowery notes. My choice was an Apple Green Tea from the Tea with Fresh Fruits section. Boba pearls were already sold out which I thought was unusual given they had only been open for less than hour. This inventory issue will need to be rectified before they have a full grand opening. A couple of apple slices were added to the cup to enhance the flavor. The tea quality was pretty solid. First off, I really liked the bright interior decor at Mosa Tea. It was warm and inviting. I ordered the seasonal Chestnut Forest drink which was a matcha based tea drink. They were unfortunately out of chestnut foam so I substituted pistachio foam. Came with a decent size group of 6 and we were fortunate to grab the only large table right in the middle of the shop which really elevated the experience. The drink was spot on with the right blend of tea, matcha, and sweet foam. It was very balanced. The drinks came out fairly quickly. Another staff member was cleaning the seats with a strong chemical cleaning product and eventually it was too strong of a smell that my friend and I just wanted to leave without actually finishing our drinks. Attended the grand opening for the BOGO event on 6/21, with the large crowds it took about an hour. As a boba and tea newbie here's my take: This place is good if you want to taste more complexity and delicacy in your tea/drinks, rather than artificial flavors and powdered milk teas from previous waves of boba shops. Overall the teas were not very sweet, at 25% the fruit tea was a little bitter with the grapefruit. TGY - their signature - very delicate and a perfect balance. It comes non dairy but I went for whole milk. They were out of the jelly so I subbed boba, which was a little dense and hard to chew imo. FRUIT TEA - this had lots of good fruits and stuff swirling around in the cup of various sizes, and was refreshing. Not as "juicy" as you'd think. I came on a Sunday afternoon and surprisingly the parking lot was quite empty, compared to how it was packed a week ago. I tried the TGY Special, which is basically an oolong milk tea with their brown sugar jelly. The tea is definitely good but I didn't like the artificial brown sugar taste in the jelly. I've also tried the Pistachio Mist before, which was a bit disappointing. The foam didn't have too strong of a fresh pistachio flavor, and the tea overpowered the cream I believe. Their teas here are good, but I also think I can get similar quality tea elsewhere. I wish they had seasonal drinks or explored a greater variety of unique flavor pairings, which would really set them apart. Really unique tapioca jelly as a topping here. We got the Tie Guan Yin signature with whole milk instead of the default creamer and it came with the jelly. We asked do 25% sugar, regular ice. The jelly was chewy, with lots of deep brown sugar flavor. Good if you're looking for something with decent texture but less solid than boba itself. And it keeps better in the fridge if you like to save your drinks over a few days like we do since we usually can't finish in one sitting. The tea itself had a strong tea flavor but was very very sweet, even at 25%. We ended up adding more milk at home to help dilute it. As a Taiwanese American, how exciting is it to hear that a Taiwanese boba store owned by Taiwanese owners just opened on Convoy! Immediately walking into the store, I was surrounded by the sweet fragrance of jasmine tea. The interior is clean and well designed with cozy/earthy Japandi tones. Major bonus points as I am a firm believer that even though this is a drink review, the environment affects how you experience their food/drink. I ordered their Tien Guan Yin Special and Grapefruit Bloom, both at 50% sugar and ice. I will note that their sugar and ice levels are of Taiwanese and not Americanized standards, so order your drinks with that in mind! $7 The Tien Guan Yin is as how it should be, roasted, aromatic and creamy. Definitely tea heavy as supposed to the milk flavor. It came with Hun Kue, a chewy starchy slightly sweetened jelly, very common in Taiwanese desserts. For westernized boba drinkers, this flavors may be on the more subtle side. I'd recommend giving it a few more sips and you will start loving the clean, simple and fresh ingredients. $6.75 The four season oolong really stood out in the Grapefruit Bloom. The grapefruit flavor is somewhat hiding in the background, so I'd love to have more of the grapefruit pulps in the drink. Of note, the drinks available during their soft opening are on the pricier side considering their drink size. I'd like to think that I'm paying for the freshness and the quality of the tea.
