Trendy Italian restaurant with a bar and a speak easy. Valet a must parking not the best. Came here to celebrate a birthday. Make sure all party has arrived they won't seat you. No worries bar is cute with delicious drinks! Appetizers ~ Ricotta stuffed squash 7/10-also got peaches with mozzarella 7/10- Oxtail meat balls 100/100! Food~Diavola Pizza 10/10 and 2 pastas I don't remember it they were so good! We also got the Brazino that was de boned 8/10.
A nice dinner spot to give a try if you are craving some good Italian food. I had a reservation but it didn't get very busy when I was there on a Saturday night. I know this place used to be pretty busy and booked but think the hype might've died down? But I love it cause I was able to enjoy dinner with my friends comfortably. We ordered the arugula salad, squash blossoms, bread, prawns in the salsa verde sauce, oxtail meatballs, the oxtail ragu pasta and carbonara pasta. The salad was delicious and the perfect start to the carb overload coming. It was the perfect amount of lemon that it wasn't overpowering. The squash blossoms were delicious! Definitely one of our top three dishes. The bread was airy and simple, but it was delicious. The prawns and the sauce. *Chef's kiss* The meatballs were delicious and definitely something unique and different. Definitely enjoyed that. The oxtail ragu pasta was delicious. The carbonara pasta was a little undercooked and the flavor wasn't there. It just tasted like butter and pasta.. that was probably our least favorite dish. Everything was good and would be back again to try maybe some other pastas or even the pizzas.
I went here with a group. I hear it can be difficult to get reservations, so grateful for the person that made reservations. 10/10 food, staff, and vibes. We were also able to have great conversations and hear each other which was nice. I have since gone to the one in Las Vegas and had a similar experience.
I arrived here for my birthday with moms for a 5:30pm reservation and little did we know we were in for an epic time. The atmosphere, food, and service were top tier, as you will hear below. We began the evening on a mild hunt of sorts, inquiring and wondering whether the server from my 1st experience (Shawn) was available. He was not..... And while he was physically present in the restaurant itself, he was tied to another section and was unable to be our server-but more on that later. As it turned out, we were in for a pleasant surprise...... We soon learned that we were to be placed in great hands when we met Jen-pictured. She is a true chameleon as she is a manager-server and yes.......sommelier when called upon! Talk about being a valued asset to a brand, right? Yes, we struck gold with a jack of all trades, and a master of all! Jen knew the menu inside...out......and in again! She provided key details about potential choices that ranged from salad to pizza, etc. And while she practically spoke to us in (was that an old school Roman tongue?), her English was spot on so major kudos and points there! Here, below, is EXACTLY what we ordered... Food *2 coffees x3 rounds (with heavy cream, brewed fresh and delicious!) *Margherita pie/pizza-thin crust (melts in your mouth) * Misticanza di Campagna (salad with insane vinaigrette dressing) * Spaghetti Arrabbiata (spicy tongue twister to die for!) *Polpettedi Coda (amazing meatballs with a Roman twist). The Polpettedi Coda were compliments of Jen/management. Desert Caffe Stracciatella (a mouthwatering experience) Ananas E. Basilico (a minty/tangy delight) Biscotti Crema-Gelato (light and scrumptious) The Biscotti Crema-Gelato were (compliments of Jen/management) Now, keep in mind there were just two of us, and I could barely drive home after such an indulgence. Moms said the same! While we were eating, we got a super pleasant surprise. It was none other than another top dog CSA (Customer Service All Star) Shawn from my previous experience. Jen had let him know that moms and I were in the restaurant and had asked for him initially. That was a nice touch and goes to show you what kind of operation is in place here. Shawn met moms, and we all shared a few laughs and well wishes before he had to get back to his section of the restaurant. After Shawn departed, Manager Cheyenne came by and said hello, which was the icing on the cake. We thanked Jen for what was a top tier experience, and promised to return. Thanks, Jen for your selfless ways, and superior service overall. You indeed are a credit to the Mother Wolf brand!
We celebrated our daughter's 18th birthday in February. We were a party of five and ordered 7 dishes and two desserts. Every bite was enjoyable in flavor, texture and presentation. The dessert was decadent! The service was great. All the staff were attentive and kind. The ambience was lively, great choice in the music, and fun to look at the restaurant's decoration. Despite of the l music and amount of people talking. we were able to have a conversation and hear each without yelling as experienced in other restaurants. Something about their acoustic that might have something to do with it. Be prepared to spend about $100 per person. Yes, it's pricey but totally worth it.
All of the pasta here is perfectly al dente. The spaghetti arrabbiata is spicy but enjoyable. The cacio e pepe was not memorable, nothing special maybe even a bit too much black pepper overpowering the cheese. Get the lamb belly!!! Omg the lamb belly skewers were delicious, grilled to perfection, the mint marinade on it brightened the dish. The oxtail meatball is crispy on the outside and has shredded oxtail inside. It was a fine appetizer. The focaccia was delicious . It is very loud in here so not a good first date place. But definitely a fun place to go with a group. Service was good and reservations release 14 days ahead at a time.
The ambiance of this restaurant is so pretty. Gives Bridgerton vibes the lighting was perfect seating was comfortable, and the music gotta live that it's chefs choice. We can for the first time for a birthday celebration and everything was so flavorful and well presented. I'm only giving it a 4 stars because they ran out of the focaccia bread and the salad we wanted. Other than that dining experience was great.
Took myself on a solo date to Mother Wolf while I was in town for a premiere, and I'm so glad I made a reservation. I went on a Wednesday night, arrived right at opening, and the place filled up fast. Probably not one of those spots you can just stroll into. I started with the prosciutto and burrata and added the focaccia. That combo was perfect. The focaccia was amazing on its own, but paired with the meat and cheese it was next level. For my main, I had the cacio e pepe and it was perfectly seasoned, rich but not heavy. I went with a glass of Nebbiolo that matched the meal really well. Service was flawless. Everyone working there is clearly a pro. I also liked that the food comes out as it's ready. It kept the pace of the meal feeling relaxed and natural. Would absolutely come back the next time I'm in LA.
Great vibes and super attentive service. Love the 90s rap and hip-hop they were playing which while it might not match with the decor felt perfect. We had the prawns and arugula salad for starters. They want you to order everything at once which is fine but then they brought out things like the pizza first. Just me I like to have my dishes come out apps first. But whatever. Arugula salad was ginormous and delicious. This type of salad is my favorite. They prawns were very good also. Not fishy at all and the green sauce was so good. I'm not sure what was in it because they just called it a salsa Verde. But it was yummy. The pizza was the four cheese and it had spring onion on top, which meant both of the kids hated it. I tasted it and thought it was fine. The onion taste was prominent and I like onion. Also, the crust was lovely. Super thin and chewy with just enough salt. The pasta we got I can't remember the name of. But it's basically like a carbonara but no egg. It was super peppery in a good way and cooked just how I like it. I would say for the price. It was a little bit on the small side. Everything was kind of sold to us as family style. Which we did like to share, but there was definitely not enough for more than two forkful's for the two of us. For the dessert, we got a tiramisu. 20 bucks for that little pot. Probably flavor wise one of the best tiramisu's I've ever had. It had a phenomenal texture and excellent depth of flavor. But it was also a $20 small pot of tiramisu. Overall, I would go back again. Our cocktails were yummy. The service was great and the ambience was top-notch. It's a little on the expensive side for some of these items but I guess that's what happens when you go to a place in LA that's above average.
Vegas location did not disappoint so I made sure to also try LA location too. What stands out with both restaurants is the music. You're vibing to 90s 00s hip hop and R&B-it threw me off at first since it's not what you would expect at a restaurant like this but I definitely enjoyed it. Must haves to start: fiori di zucca (not pictured cuz we devoured it), burrata e crudo, misticanza di campagna, and polpette di coda. Pastas: tonnarelli cacio pepe and mezzi rigatoni carbonara. Entree: branzino alla brace and prime porterhouse. It's a great mix of the menu. Cute location in the heart of Hollywood, easy parking and valet is available too. Our server was amazing, very knowledgeable and made great recommendations.I will definitely be back soon.
Had dinner here the other night. Food and service was great. We had the squash blossoms, split the margarita pizza, pasta and desert. I'm on a quest to try everything on the menu... We valeted here ($20). Valet attendants were friendly. No issue there. The area of opportunity was at the check-in. There was a line when we walked in. I overheard two of the groups in front of me that they did NOT have reservations. We did. We had to wait to be seated so they could accommodate those groups. They should be sitting those who have reservations first. Period. Otherwise, why make a reservation?
Alright, the vibe in Mother Wolf definitely gives off bougie Cheese Cake Factory lol but the food is way better than Cheese Cake Factory. We ordered the carbonara was a bit on the salty side but the pasta was cooked perfectly. Creamy and lots of bacon! We also ordered the prime ribeye. The steak was cooked to perfection. Potatoes were again on the salty side & we actually left a majority on the plate. They make all their cream in house and the earl grey ice cream was so so good. Really creamy and a very rich earl grey flavor. Service was lovely and we were well taken care of. Pro tip: ask for a corner table if you're a group of two. The tables are quite big so it was a bit of a struggle to hear each other well.
Came here because Joshua Hong of Seventeen mentioned this restaurant during their concert at BMO last year lol. We made a reservation about a month in advance to secure our table on resy. We were seated right away and I was surprised at how busy it was getting for 5:30 pm on a weeknight. Staff was helpful for recommending items and how much to order. I really enjoyed the squash blossoms and oxtail rigatoni! Pizza was a delight as well! We were in a bit of a time crunch so couldn't try dessert this time, but I'd definitely return next time I have an Italian food craving. We lucked out on street parking, but they also have valet available.
I'd say this is the best pasta I've had outside Italy but it is in fact better pasta than I've had IN Italy. Absolutely phenomenal bite and great sauces. Service was fantastic, wine perfectly complimented. Decor was very cool, old school meets nouveau; but I have to say the 90s rnb was so random and didn't fit the vibe at all imo Definitely on the expensive side but honestly worth it. The service and atmosphere is very welcoming. Our server walked thru all the courses and offered suggestions along the way. We didn't order a lot (sadly) because my guests were a little under the weather but we made the most of what we had. The spicy pizza, spicy spaghetti and of course the squash blossoms. Finally tried Mother Wolf as this was the final boss of all Italian Restaurants in LA. Came here on a Friday night. Since it was a special night, I booked previously on Resy two weeks in advance. Upon entering we were greeted and the host was very nice to everyone in the party. Seated promptly and immediately noticed how big this restaurant is. Ordered a variety of items and here are my rankings/recommendations. Lamb Skewers: 8.2/10 - cooked to perfection and I thought it was the best entree dish we ordered that day Squash Blossoms: 8.4/10 - fabulous dish that was new to me Prawns: 8.2/10 - great appetizer. the sauce that was cooked with prawns was delicious. carbonara: 7.7/10 - better pasta dish that we ordered but was way too salty for my liking fusili pasta: 7.5/10 - way too salty. noodles were cooked well tho Overall, for an Italian place it was a bit of a letdown with the main pastas especially when you're paying almost $30 per dish. Tasted way better pasta that was cooked to perfection at other places for half the cost. in my opinion, I feel like it's overrated and the appetizers were way better than the main dishes. I loved the decor and how spacious this restaurant is. Although the food and service were impeccable, I was surprised when my husband and I were seated near the bar area (a high-top table for two) instead of the main dining area, since I had booked our reservations in advance. Usually, these seats are reserved for walk-ins, but luckily, their chairs were comfortable enough that it didn't hurt my back too much. I don't recall any restaurant in the past confirming with us the notes I've input into the online reservation notes, except for Mother Wolf, so kudos to them for actually paying attention to the notes. See below for ratings breakdown. -Fiori di zucca: 5/5; all reviews recommended this and I couldn't agree more. The best ones yet! -Pizza rosa (vegan-friendly): 5/5; a little pizza marinara app for my husband. -Ruchetta (vegan-friendly): 3/5; eh, it's a mound of rocket with the cheese on the side. A little more lemon would have been preferable. -Spaghetti all' arrabiata (vegan-friendly): 5/5; cooked perfectly al dente with a slight spicy kick! -Rigatoni all' amatriciana: 5/5; pasta was perfectly cooked and that crispy guanciale was heaven. -Tiramisu: 3/5; I love tiramisu in a cup, but this one was a bit too sweet for my taste. read more

Very good, rounded up from 3.5. I think the only reason I'm only giving it four stars was that my expectations were too high. The squash blossoms, magherita pizza and rigatoni were great. Both the pizza and pasta could use more sauce though for my taste. The prawns and octopus also good, but zero acidity. I should have added lemon. Delicious, delicious!!! I couldn't stop thinking of that pizza and the pasta was quite delightful. Great appetizers as well. Wish I ordered more dishes, but we were pressed for time. I'll love to come back and enjoy another pizza. Maybe this time they'll have the tiramisu. read more
I'd been eyeing Mother Wolf on Instagram for a while, and finally got to try it with two friends -- and it definitely was delicious. The space is beautiful: upscale with dramatic high ceilings and an old-school Roman glamor vibe. It feels like a special night out, but the dress code isn't overly enforced, which made it feel both elevated and approachable. We ordered a few dishes to share, starting with the Fiori di Zucca -- squash blossoms stuffed with ricotta and parm. This is one of my favorite things to order, and Mother Wolf nailed it. Crispy, light, and so flavorful. Easily the standout of the night. 9.5/10. We also tried the La Panzanella, which was like a bread salad with juicy tomatoes, market vegetables, fried pane, and a creamy cloud of burrata on top. Absolutely delicious -- and I'm always a sucker for burrata. 9/10. We also had the Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe, which was really solid -- creamy, peppery, and well-balanced. Not overly heavy like some versions can be. Classic and comforting. 8.5/10. Our third dish was the Tagliata di Manzo (prime ribeye cap with patate fritte and wild arugula), which was cooked beautifully. Juicy, tender, and paired perfectly with the fingerling potatoes with just the right bite, and peppery greens. 9/10. Service was friendly, attentive and smooth, and overall the experience felt thoughtfully executed. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a nice dinner spot in LA. The fried blossoms are a must order. They tasted light but rich at the same time. The diavola pizza was thin and spicy. I would order this dish again. My favorite dish were the shrimps! So flavorful & tasty. We even saved the sauce to dip other things in lol. Meatballs were good but I wouldn't order again. Both pastas tasted fresh & made to order. Very good. Steak was cooked perfectly. I had the passion fruit cheese cake and earl grey gelato which were both amazing! Service was excellent. I also enjoyed the vibe inside the restaurant. read more

What a phenomenal meal for the price you pay. Our server was kind, attentive, and very knowledgeable of the menu. We got 3 things to share- the stuffed squash blossoms which they are known for, the rushetta salad, and the cacio e pepe. The salad was probably my favorite- so light, flavorful, and simply. It had no business being that good!! I can't wait to come back and try more of their menu- cocktails & mocktails included. The interior is also SO CUTE and such a fun vibe. Came here in a Tuesday night with a party of 6 and really enjoyed the meal. The waitstaff were very friendly and helpful with ordering and the interior was lovely. The food here is very good too. I think this may be the best Al dente pasta in Los Angeles and the pizzas are also top tier. I definitely recommend trying a couple of pizzas and a few pastas. The oxtail meatballs were also very unique and delicious. That being said the food here is definitely not mind blowing. The food stands out by having fresh high quality ingredients and attentive preparation. You will not find incredible flavors here or trending dishes. The sauces for the pizzas and pasta were simple but well made. Overall mother wolf delivers a premium dining experience but with a very hefty price tag. read more

Absolutely in awe of this place! From start to finish, this is an Italian experience, the menus barely have any English, but you can't go wrong with anything you choose here. My experience: Once sat, a sommelier introduces himself and goes on to offer his pairing services. Waiters are all dressed uniform and they always make sure to answer questions, fill your water. He asked what time we needed to be done dining by then went on to explain some plates take longer and helped us plan accordingly. La mortazza - well I love mortadella, adult bologna have you. And with fresh pistachios and the bread that envelopped it, it was out of this world. My friend said it was the best sandwich he ever had. Flori di zucca - think of a tempura zucchini flower. Nice and hot, crispy, tasty. Wild boar ragu - I think I speak for all the pastas here, but it was perfectly cooked. I've never met a fusili pasta that didn't break with a fork until now. Chewy, soft, yet strong. I will definitely come back for more pasta dishes! They have other meats, pizzas, salads, I can't wait to try some more. Definitely family style kind of meal so you can try more things! High ceilings, busy but not loud at all surprisingly. Clean bathrooms and most people looked somewhat fancy but they didn't turn me down wearing jeans and a Harry Potter jacket! :) (Don't think they're the type) read more
Zero complaints from our group of 4. Our waiter, Shawn, was perfection. He was so knowledgeable, kind and attentive. Didn't try to upsell us and recommended a great wine for me. We ordered the following: Fiori di Zucca- these were delicious. Cicoria Salad- WOW- this stole the show for us. Margherita Pizza- super thin crust and done well. Rigatonicini Alla Vaccinara- Incredible and highly recommend Cacio e Pepe: Tasty and simple Octopus: beautifully prepared and so flavorful Desserts: Semifreddo: Order this- it was amazing Vanilla Gelato: So good. The service was not good. I had to flag down our server several times. 30 minutes before I got my cocktail (vodka soda, nothing special). My food was okay hut nothing to brag about. I had high hopes for this place but it was average at best. read more

Calabrese Pizza was amazing. Pasta and Ruchetta were okay. The Ruchetta had way too much Parmesan and was in need of much more lemon. This was our second time coming, the Ruchetta was so good our first visit that was honestly what we were most exited about coming back for this time. Not nearly the same quality. The pizza was delicious, we want to try the Margherita next time. We also ordered the Spaghetti all'Arrabbiata and Rigatoncini alla Vaccinara. Both were good, pasta perfectly al dente, but not really what I'd expected flavor wise. The meat to pasta ratio for the Rigatoncini was almost comical lol. I will say the service is top notch. My water was never empty and plates were always cleared. The inside is beautiful and a nice experience overall. We would come back for the pizza and to try a few more items of the menu. read more

Had a work dinner here and honestly couldn't have picked a much better place! All the dishes were on point, wine flowed freely all night and we had some great conversations in a wonderfully decorated space. I couldn't find any major fault with any of the dishes really. Made my list of top Italian restaurants in LA for sure. I would have liked to try a seafood pasta dish (none of the pastas we ordered had seafood, and I don't think I saw any seafood pastas on their menu). Hopefully my wish will be fulfilled at some point! read more

I don't know if they were just busy or if someone didn't show up that day, but the service was not what I would expect of a place charging this kind of price. We felt rushed through our entire meal, even though it was just only two of us and we honestly weren't even there for longer than 45 minutes. I only took photos of my favorites, and we did order pastas each. I did not enjoy the pasta like I thought I would. There is al dente, and then there's undercooked pasta, and I felt as if my pasta was undercooked, while my friend's pasta was perfectly al dente. The sauce on both of our pastas was runny and a bit flavorless. The bread was great, although it was a little dense, but it came out warm. The squash blossoms were probably my favorite as they were fried to perfection. The panzanella was light and great. Our drinks were lacking as well. For the price that they charge for cocktails, they went heavy on the Aperol and light on the spritz if you know what I mean. This resulted in a cocktail that wasn't really balanced, and we love a good Aperol spritz. For the price this place charges, the pasta definitely needs a lot of improvement, and so does the service. Again, I don't know if the service was bad because they were shortstaffed or something happened. read more

I've come here before but was a bit disappointed at this visit. The pizza was extremely burnt and was difficult to eat. I tried the spicy arrabiata pasta and it was unique but I likely would not order it again. The service was great and the ambiance is perfect for nearly any occasion. read more

Mother Wolf, for too long had I planned on going but never got to it. Just so happened, a reservation became available when I checked, so I booked it and dinner was set. Arrived and was seated right away. Found street parking but there is valet if you prefer that, or parking garages around the area. Mother Wolf is an Italian restaurant, so wine is the name of the game. Of course we ordered cocktails and Spritz. The cocktails were decent, nothing I would necessarily rave about. But the food is what you're really there for! Started off with the oxtail meatballs and blue prawns. The prawns find in a green garlic aioli. They were cooked perfectly, nice and big, and very flavorful. The sweetness of the shrimp contrasted the salty in the aioli. Just a great starter. The oxtail meatballs, on the other hand, were a type of meatball I had never had and I didn't know if I can go back. Just a crispy out side with shredded oxtail inside with pecorino Romano.... just a delicious bite! Still thinking about those meatballs. Had to try a pizza, so we always go with the margherita as it's a Naples classic. The pizza was tasty, crust was nice, good flavor overall. Entrees consisted of carbonara, spaghetti al artagosta, Fusilli al Cinghiale and the grilled sea bass. The Cinghiale is a wild boar ragu, good forgot, the boar was great, but it didn't stay with me when I left. Kind of forgettable. The spaghetti came with lobster and had a lobster sauce. That sauce was great. Tasted like a mixture of lobster and the ocean but was not overly seafood-y. Also had a great texture. The pasta, itself, was like a normal spaghetti, soft, not chewy at all. The lobster was also great, nice large chunks throughout. Just a gif dish. The carbonara was great, the flavor tasted like Italy and the guanciale was crispy and full of flavor. The downside were the noodles, they just didn't necessarily work for the dish, for me. The had a nice aldente texture but I felt the original carbonara pasta would have worked better. Finally was the grilled sea bass, just a large portion of fish, cooked perfectly with spinach and pignoli. Just an amazing dish full of flavor. To sum it up, great flavors at Mother Wolf. The oxtail meatballs were phenomenal, as was the sea bass. The carbonara had great flavor and the sauce with the lobster spaghetti was fire. The prawns were also very good. If you're looking for an Italian meal, put Mother Wolf on your "to try" list read more

Who doesn't love homemade pasta and pizza? Mother Wolf delivers beautifully on both. The space has that classic Italian trattoria charm with a modern, stylish twist, making it feel both timeless and fresh. I have to say--this was some of the best service I've experienced in the Hollywood area. The staff was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. I especially appreciated being greeted by their sommelier, who recommended a fantastic 2018 Perricone that paired perfectly with our meal. We started with the squash blossoms--they were tasty, though I wish the filling had been distributed more evenly throughout. The Diavola pizza was flavorful with just the right amount of heat, and the Spaghettone con Cavolo was a standout. The bacon in the pasta added a depth of flavor that tied everything together beautifully. And a fun surprise--the music! It didn't exactly match the crowd or the setting, but I ended up loving the unexpected vibe. Love the large dining area, it's warm and bright with plenty of intimate vibes. The waitress was lovely and very helpful with the menu. She even greeted us with happy anniversary. Oh my, the food was delicious and cooked to perfection. The flavors were a compliment to the beverages. They have their own signature Manhattan and Old Fashion that held firm. read more

Do you need reservation or you can do walk in?
I would highly suggest reservations but you can walk in and wait to be seated but don't know how long the wait can be.
What is parking like? And how much $ is it?
July 2023-valet parking is $20 per car
Are they requiring proof of vaccination still? Their site and voicemail still says this.
No they never asked us for proof what so ever. I went about 2 months ago.
Is the menu exactly like Felix or is it different?
They have a few similar items like the shrimp appetizer and several pastas but the menu is not exactly the same. Their pizzas are thin Roman style and diff. And they don't have Felix's focaccia.
Is the bar area reservation only? Saw some posts about this but the answers were from 8 months ago.
The bar area is available for walk-ins based on availability.
Do you allow kids?
Yes. We brought our 11yr with us. No separate kids menu so he just had an adult pizza.
Are they still asking for proof of vaccination to dine with them ? Cause other places are not asking for it.
I was just there on Wednesday and they are not asking anymore!

No - there's very few gluten free options
Having a hard time making a reservation, do you take walk ins?
They were very accommodating for us as walk ins I’m a local and sat at the bar and had the best staff there to make sure we had a great time.
Is there a corkage fee for bringing in outside wine?
$50 and max 2 of the 750ml bottle per reservation.
Are there vegan options?
Absolutely and the staff really knows how to navigate them really well.
I'm having problems making reservations through Resy. Any advice on how and when I should be trying to book?
I set my alarm for 11:55pm for 7 days before the day I needed a reservation. Hit refresh on Resy (website because the app sucks) just before midnight and had all the options for a Friday night.

Is there a bar where a solo dinner can eat? If so, do they take walk in for the bar?
Yes. I am a solo eater and love sitting at this bar. I hope you love it as much as I do.
