What a pleasant surprise. Mountain Munchies, all American comfort food. Great service and very good food. What this little eatery lacks in fancy, it more than makes up for in great eats. Breakfast, lunch or dinner, with breakfast served all day. They made me a mean Arnold Palmer to go with a very tasty Salisbury Steak dinner that was just slightly too big to finish without some help. Not fancy, just fresh and delicious.

Decided to try this place out, and I was blown away. This sandwich is very flavorful, and the meats are juicy as well. The cashier was kind, he recommend me to use the white roll I got, IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!!! The vibes were nice, it seemed like a very chill spot, not too noisy and comfortable too. I would definitely come back, this sandwich is packed with tons of flavor and very filling too. I was only able to finish half of it lol. My total was about $17 and some change.

The Mountain Munchies sausage breakfast burrito is my routine go to for breakfast.

My wife ordered the Raven sandwich and I ordered my usual of a sausage breakfast burrito. That burrito never fails and it's by far the best I've ever had. But hold your horses, I just took a bite of my wife's Reuben sandwich and to say it was spectacular would be an understatement. It was incredible. We are frequent customers of mountain munchies and this place never fails! The service is always excellent too! Thank you Eddie.

Mountain Munchies is a long-standing restaurant in Big Bear Lake, known for its hearty breakfast, lunch, and dinner comfort food, including large sandwiches, burgers, and classic diner fare, available for dine-in or takeout. It offers a casual, rustic atmosphere with indoor and patio seating, and is a popular spot for both locals and tourists looking for substantial, all-American meals after activities like hiking or skiing.

We tried this place when we arrived at Big Bear, it looked very promising. It was a Friday night and it was empty, the dining area was empty, is seemed like people were ordering to go instead. The girl in the front was very welcoming and nice when she took our order. As for the food, I did not like the sandwich, I ordered the Lumberjack and they gave me some other sandwich. It had 3 different meats, way too much meat for my liking. I took out all I didn't want and tried to eat half. It was very bland, no flavor. Jersey Mikes is right across and theirs has more flavor. Like I said, I had high expectations.. My son liked his sandwich tho. I did like the onion rings and the mozzarella sticks. The curly fries needed seasoning. French toast was 10/10 according to my brother.

This is a small little sandwich place and it does get very busy. Food was okay at least for me. I ordered french toast with strawberries and well it had a little too much egg taste. My strawberries tasted like they were sliced with same knife as they chopped onions or something. Didn't enjoy my breakfast. My parents and kids definitely enjoyed theirs. Plus, the service was great, young lady seemed to be alone when we got there because she was working the cashier, cleaning tables and also as the server. Reason why I am not giving anything lower than a 4 star. More employees started arriving as it was really getting busy, they already had a line outside of ppl trying to go in. Recommended for their sandwiches, steak, omelettes but just not their french toast.

The breakfast here is really good. Ordered the traditional breakfast and biscuits and gravy - very tasty. There are about twelve booths and the staff do a great job getting folks seated, but there can be a line. They also serve lunch and dinner, with a great variety of vintage sodas. Shares parking lot in the Stater Bros. shopping center.

From, the online pictures are really expected this to be a bigger restaurant. It is on the smaller side but definitely worth a visit. The food was really great and it was at a fair price. The service was really great. Our waitress kept checking in on us to make sure everything was good because we did have a little bit of a large party and seemed really sweet. If you're in big Bear for a visit and want a good meal at a good price, check them out.

First time here. We ordered a meatball sandwich and a mountain high salad. Both were fine but not anything exceptional. Counter person was efficient but not really friendly. I prefer to support independent restaurants rather than chain restaurants so I would try them again but order something different.

Although the wait can be a bit they are super fast. I had the waffle combo the second time we went. delicious. Had a bite the first time and just had to come back for it again. Here's why: we arrived at 9:50 for breakfast, 6 adults and my 2 year old. We put our name in, and were told it would be 45 minutes. 50 minutes in the heat outside goes by. (Two of the adults are in their 80's mind you.) We're really hungry lol. Two 4 seater tables finally open up in this tiny place. A small family of 3 shows up and knows the hostess (pixie haircut and piercings, don't know her name but can't miss her.) she waves them in and gets them one of the 4 seaters, no wait for friends I guess! 2 minutes later a third 4 seater opens up in the same row but she sat her friends at the one right in the middle. So they call our name and then tell us we have to separate our family to get seated and take the two 4 seaters on opposite ends of the table they gave away. They don't give a (insert your favorite curse word here). I guess it's okay though because they warn you on their menu that the staff might be moody lol! A great scapegoat for terrible service. Never again. Here's a tip to anyone reading: go literally 1 minute west down the road and eat at the first restaurant you see. They were phenomenal!

Stopped in here to grab a drink and a snack b4 finishing our walk around town…read more Place is adorable and dog friendly for those that have- bc we met the cutest dog, Milo who was hanging out next to us. I ordered a Nutella espresso martini mocktail and my man ordered an allagash beer (not on the menu, but on tap) - NEW beer for them, which was a great bonus! There were several people working as wait staff and one bartender, who was the manager that day onsite. Seemed like he was making tons of drinks for several tables - because, sitting at the bar right in front of him- took maybe 5+ minutes to even acknowledge that we were sitting in front of him in the middle of the bar- then it took 15 + minutes to get the two drinks and an order of fries. That was the only downpoint- but everything else was fine. Fries were great with a nice homemade ranch dressing. My mocktail martini was good - quite a lot of foam on top- but pretty and tasted kinda like a fancy chocolate milk. I never usually like wasting money on a mocktail $8 for it- but was yummie. Might come back next time and try some of the food. Great ambience - clean and nice location and size - especially compared to some other places in the village.

We strolled in around 2:30 on 1/9, the place was empty save for one family finishing up their meal…read more I wanted to make sure they were not closing soon and they told me they were open until 9pm or something. I had an old fashioned, it was decent... my girl ordered a happy hour mimosa and here is where the experience crashes... there was only one extra large bottle of cooks champagne left that had been opened and then recorked with a wine stopper. They couldn't get the bottle open so they took the bottle to the kitchen and the server came back out with the bottle broken just above the neck and proceeded to pour champagne from a broken bottle with her back turned to us, thinking we wouldn't notice. That was a first, big red flag. We had a caeser salad added a piece of fried chicken, we also had the Stromboli. The fried chicken tasted old and microwaved making the texture very tough and arid dry. The Stromboli was not as stale, but still had a spot that hadn't been fully heated so it was lukewarm to cold. We won't be coming back, it's a shame because the place is cute. The service wasn't bad if you're oblivious, and it wasn't intentionally bad either, maybe they were just working with what they got, I can respect that. But then I can't justify the price we paid for 2 drinks a salad and an appetizer. The serving cheap champagne from a broken bottle was something I can't overlook either.
