I've been to this location a couple time and it's fairly consistent. I really enjoy the drinks here and the happy hour is great. This location is pretty new and looks really really nice. It's got a nice patio and bar area, then a quieter dining area. The host and wait staff are always really friendly and attentive to your needs, and it's always clean. Now, I'm in a love/hate relationship with some of the menu items. It's never had an excellent food experience here but I always go back for the fellowship and the beverages. read more

Went today with friend who really wanted to try after good experience at Moxies Southlake. Service was overly attentive. Prices very high for what you get. Menu has a range of Burgers, Indian, Thai, Salads. Chicken Lettuce Wraps not very good, sooo sweet, completely unbalanced couldn't finish. Food generally not good. Recently went to Moxie's for a dinner date with my boyfriend. Ive heard ood things about this plave from my boyfriend and wanted to experience this place the right way by going all out. We began with appetizers... Chips and Guac and Calamari. Both super good! Even wow'd my picky boyfriend. After that we decided on dinner which was the blackend chicken tacos and the lobster and shirmp linquine. Again... FLAVORFUL. I came here for a birthday dinner last Saturday and it was quite the experience. The ambience of the restaurant was beautiful and welcoming, and our waitress was super friendly and on top of it. I'm giving this location four stars, because the staff was friendly. A friend of mine hosted a birthday party with at least 35 people in the party. Only two servers were assigned to us. Drink orders came out properly. However, food orders were mixed up and not prepared as ordered. A person ordered a well-done steak and it came back like burnt rubber and was given to another person that ordered medium-well. The medium-well steak came out medium-rare. The mimosa situation is unique in that you may choose your bottle. However, the markup on the bottles is 40% higher than normal retail. This place is new and is beautiful inside, but perhaps classier than the website let's off so that you feel like a dweeb when you walk in with your work attire on but still feel underdressed. The wait staff is all female, and there must be a requirement for body size because they are all thin and wearing pencil skirts and heels. It made me feel kind of weird. While the hard lemonade is delicious, it's overpriced even on happy hour ($8). Everything is. The happy hour is 3 drinks and 3 appetizers, all $8. The options are tasty, but not really budget friendly if your group is specifically there for a happy hour night out. After two rounds of drinks and a round of real food (my chicken Caesar salad was tasty, but almost $16), we ended up having to leave and go somewhere else. The decor is beautiful, but the restaurant is too high end. It was a fun experience (that grapefruit mojito was delicious), but the bar was filled with businessmen just there to ogle the skin-tight clad ladies serving them (And before you think it's just me judging, the guys at our table also noticed). The staff was polite and the beginning of our visit, which included about an hour in the bar (our choice) was good. I am not a food snob and will eat at a Taco Bell or Cain's frequently. I ordered "Chicken Madeira Rigatoni" at Moxies. The rigatoni and sauce were good, but the chicken was dry tasteless cubes. Portion size was excellent and I ate plenty, thanks to the flavorful sauce. Bad - Then came the check, which read TOTAL: 31.71 TIP: 5.46 GRATUITY: ________ TOTAL: ________ I didn't think anything of the tip, which appeared to be about 18%. I even added a gratuity, because this is for the staff, not the food, and I like round numbers. Just as I went to enter the total, one of the group said wait this is wrong. Sure enough, the presentation is very wrong. My meal was $21. My drink was kitchen brewed Iced Tea $3.25 and tax was $2.00. The total, before tip should be $26.25. The $31.71 "Total" already had the $5.46 tip added in. The tip line, on the ticket, should be above the Total, to show it is already included. Had someone else not caught this, I would have given a 50% tip. I enjoy being generous. My life is blessed, but Moxies tickets are obviously designed to mislead. read more

We visited Moxie's for my bff's birthday. I honestly decided on Moxie's simply because they offered reservations through another app I use. Boy am I glad we found this gem. The ambiance/atmosphere of the restaurant was very lively and welcoming. The host immediately greeted us and had a table waiting for us upon arrival. Our server was awesome. The menu variety had us wanting everything. We ordered a couple of different appetizers and meals and shared them to get a good variety. Everything was delicious. It's hard to say what our favorite dish was but if forced to pick one, I'd say The Tuna Poke'. Because I clearly lost my mind years ago, I've named every car I've owned. Currently, my car is named "Moxy," so you can imagine the internal jubilation I had whenever I drove by this place as it was being built. Finally, on a Wednesday evening, I was able to take Moxy to Moxie's, which is a sentence that has probably never been typed before in the history of the English language. Nonetheless, I met up with four of my coworkers for a team happy hour and to see if Moxie's would entice us back for another round in the future. Spoiler alert: if you already saw the total number of stars in this review, you probably know how this story ends. Pulling into the parking lot at 5:15 proved to be a Herculean effort as the rush of Plano traffic was one obstacle to contend with before slalom driving through the construction crews in the parking lot where Moxie's rests. I'm not sure if the hotel Moxie's is attached to is open or not, but the parking lot looked like the perfect setting for an indie band no one has ever heard of to shoot their industrial music video. Adding to the fun was the Moxie's valet, which claimed a good number of parking spots this evening. Because I'm stubborn, I opted to park along the backside of the hotel and trust I would see my car by itself as a lone beacon at the end of the night. I walked past a patio that looked rather inviting and made my way into the inner sanctum that is Moxie's waiting room. And right away I realized this place is posh. It's a place to see and be seen at. Because I was wearing a sweater vest in Texas in September, I suspected I would bring down the fashionable quotient in the building, but it was too late: I ran into two coworkers and five women, two behind the hostess stand and three who were... greeters? I'm not sure, but Moxie's was certainly not lacking for help. With an OpenTable check-in redeemed, we made our way to the bar to a table in the corner. Chartreuse-colored, horseshoe-shaped booths lined one wall while a row of windows flanked the opposite end of the room where high top tables sat. A theatre-in-the-round bar occupied the middle of the room, and we had our backs to a glassed-in kitchen where the culinary magic happened. Eventually, all five of us arrived, and we got down to the business of consuming as much as humanly possible before happy hour concluded at 6:00. Our server, Ashlynn, was impeccable from start to finish. Not once were any of us lacking for a refill or a recommendation on what to order, and it was through watching her move with such efficiency that I realized something: I think everyone working this evening was a (cocktail) waitress. Nothing wrong with that, but due to my limited view of only one dining room, it was kind of an "ah ha!" moment by about the 90-minute mark. (Either no one at our table was that observant, or I'm just really slow. Possibly both.) Happy hour prices are about what you would expect in Plano, even if the somewhat limited selection is not what you would expect in Plano. But at least what they had was great, even if the house lemonade looked to be about 83 percent lemon - the guy at our table who ordered it marveled at the fortitude a bartender must have shown to wedge a literal lemon, uh, wedge into the jar he was drinking from. Food was universally loved by our group. The lettuce wraps looked legit, as did the 1-lb. nachos that could probably feed a small army. My oven-baked chicken was wonderful, and the vegetable combo that came with it briefly made me consider becoming a vegetarian due to their flavoring. I didn't care at all for the chicken/curry dish I got to try from one of my coworkers, but he seemed content with it. And then there was the tableside guacamole... It kind of looked like it was made with junior's first mortar and pestle, and while there are other places in town that do this dish with more gusto, my coworker who ordered it said it was good. Later in the meal, I headed down the hall to the bathroom and realized I was already standing in it before taking too many steps. A giant, illuminated "M" and "W" sit above the split entrance to the bathrooms, but once you round the corner, you're at your destination. Basically, be well-prepared and/or sober before heading to the bathroom and you'll be fine. Which is solid advice no matter where you are, now that I think about it. With all that said, Moxie's is in an interesting place, and not just because at the time of this writing the building it is connected to looks like an unfinished maze of hallways and ruined furniture. There's certainly no shortage of restaurants to consider in the Plano area, with some offering more variety of drinks or more favorable pricing. But Moxie's also has multiple locations, so they're doing something right. Clearly, the five of us had a great time, and I could see this becoming a repeat visit in the future. And I'd wager to guess we're not alone in that sentiment. read more

She had like four tables ready; and asked us to move. So we rushed through our bar order , closed the tab and moved to the dinner spot. They set us up on a table - no silverWare. We take some time to Order food ; and then the food arrives (on time) but missing one order . Asked for silver ware to a server and she vanished; another server brought the missing food; again no silverware ; finally (after asking three times someone dropped two sets - (it's a party of four) and then vanished . I ran out of patience grabbed two additional from another table - these guys are quite bad! Funny thing is : the napkin she handed me was stinking (pretty bad) .
