    05/25/2025 - Shrimp Rice Noodle Roll $4.50
    Teri C.

I love rice noodle rolls and Mr. Champion was known for them. First off, there's a sign in list by the register, so head there first if you plan on dining in. There was one person waiting before me and they chose to sit her at the four top table while there were two empty seats at the counter. Meanwhile, my party of four had to wait until another table cleared. This was not efficient and I'm not sure where the logic was there. This is what we ordered: * Pork Rice Noodle Roll $4.50 * Beef Rice Noodle Roll $4.75 * Shrimp Rice Noodle Roll $4.95 * Beef Stew Rice Noodle Rice Roll $4.95 x 2 Our favorite was the Beef Stew Rice Noodle Roll as it had the most flavor with the sauce, hence why we went with a second order. The rest were all fine, and I liked the texture of the rice noodle rolls. They are very thin and light. However, they don't cook the rice noodle rolls with the protein in it, rather it's tossed on top with the sauce. The pork one did look like it may have been cooked a little with the protein inside, but the shrimp, beef, and beef stew versions all have the protein added on top. Perhaps they do it this way so they can make them faster. I imagine it's more efficient to make a bunch of plain rice noodle rolls and adding whatever toppings afterwards. The price point for rice noodle rolls was pretty decent. Service - the bare minimum with taking our orders, bringing out our drinks and food, and giving us the bill. Everyone knows you come here for the rice noodle rolls and not the service. 3.5 stars

This is a cute, simple, little place located in a plaza. Parking was easy. Service was friendly and prompt. This place hit the spot for my friend and me as we just came from hiking. We both ordered the Iced HK Milk Tea & Coffee, and it was refreshing and good. We liked that it didn't leave an after-taste. The rice noodles were delicious and the price point was amazing! That's why we shared two orders. I even ordered to-go for my hubby. The porridge was yummy as well. They did not skimp on the pork or Preserved eggs. Will definitely be back when I'm in the area.

Beef and shrimp rice roll, delicious $3.95 $4.25

I started liking this place until recent, I took my sister for light breakfast there before going to acupuncture. We ordered rice roll and beef chow fun to share, I think the rice roll is their specialty which is pretty good, cheap and easy to digest. We both agree beef chow Fung is good though portion isn't ax big as other Cantonese restaurants. After that visit, I did couple take outs Mostly a rice roll with porridge. After I discovered I can add liver to the porridge for additional $3, I asked for 3 orders of liver added to my porridge. Unlike other restaurants adding liver usually just thin slice boiled liver which is dry , their version is big chalk of liver which tastes really good !!! Service is very friendly and easily to order takeout by phone with madarin

Was in the area and dropped by because I had to get the shrimp noodle rolls! And oh my god they were amazing! Priced at $5 it was a steal. We needed up getting 3 orders. The menu had a lot to offer and we chose to order beef chow fun, beef noodle soup and popcorn chicken. All of the dishes were very tasty and homey. It taste like my grandma cooked it which is always a plus! Don't forget, their XO sauce is soooooo good! 8" The staff here was super friendly and accommodating - which made our experience much better. Definitely coming back for the shrimp rice noodles!

If you love wonton noodles and steamed rice noodle rolls, you can get a descent craving fix here. Reason is the amounts of varieties. The steam rice rolls alone have like 8 different options including beef stew which was a cool option and of course we ordered. If you love beef tripes at dim sum, they have one with egg noodle low mien. We also ordered popcorn chicken which you can never go wrong for the kiddos and those are generic like any tea houses. When it comes to flavor and taste, nothing wows me but it's very generic, cant go wrong for a quick fix mainly. Place is tiny and cute in a good size plaza with plenty of parking spaces. Owner was nice and attentive.

If you like steamed rice rolls, there's no other place that beats the way they make it here. It is so delicate and delicious. There are so many various flavors and add ons as well. The place is fairly small but has very cute decorations and a cozy feel to it. The staff is super nice and helped me open the door when they saw I was walking in helping my mom. They have other options as well like the abalone and chicken porridge I got. Prices are amazing as well especially with the prices we have going on in this economy.

I barely have a chance to go to this area, a tri-city junction of Temple City, North El Monte, and Arcadia. In China, such an area is normally lawless; we call it 三不管地區, which literally means "an area that three departments don't care about." I go there only for T & M Auto Repair Corporation (東明汽車修護廠) for oil changes. I eventually switched to this one instead of KB MOTOR (小李修車廠) in Rowland Heights, which is getting more and more expensive and provides worse and worse service. T & M's services are great; the only pity is that there are not enough places around to kill time while waiting for the car. There is only a Starbucks and one Paris Baguette across the street. I did some research before I went to fix the TPMS and found a Hong Kong-style café not too far away, just a 10-minute walk. When we stepped inside the café, the tables on the left and right sides were all occupied. There were two high bar tables facing the windows, but obviously not for service since they were occupied by stuffed animals-cute. Several tables behind the cashier island were stacked with sundries. That meant the whole café was running at only two-thirds seating capacity. Also, three chairs in front of the cashier island were taken by three girls waiting for takeout. We stood there without getting any greeting-yes, Yelp reviewers mentioned that. It seems to be the style of the café, and I am okay with it. I go to Hong Kong-style cafés only for good food, never expecting good service-whether in Shanghai, in Hong Kong, or in the USA. We stood there for at least five minutes, watching them collect payments, prepare leftovers for packing, and clean tables. Eventually, the owner-like waitress told us that we had to sign the waiting list by hand-yes, by handwriting. I wrote my name on the clipboard. While waiting for a seat, I found that everyone in the café was speaking Cantonese-yes, I mean every single person. I bet it must be an authentic Hong Kong café. Fortunately, after only five or ten more minutes of waiting, we were seated. I checked the menu: the prices were really cheap. It's a very good deal even if the taste isn't great. I don't remember anywhere in Southern California where you can get a 4-piece full-size Rice Noodle Roll for less than five dollars. They serve several categories: fried snacks, steamed rice noodle rolls, porridges, rice plates, stir-fries, rice noodles, noodles, and Hong Kong-style beverages. Every item on the menu looked delicious and was reasonably priced. Let's talk about the dishes we got: Dried Shrimp Rice Noodle Roll $4.95 - 5/5 Trust me, order this one instead of the Shrimp Rice Noodle Roll. I don't mean their shrimp is bad, just because you can get good shrimp in Southern California so easily, but it's not that easy to find good dried shrimp. The dried shrimp they used were soybean-sized, with no shell or feet-which is not easy for shrimp of that size, most likely hand-removed by the restaurant. The Rice Noodle Roll itself was tender and juicy, and the sauce was so elegant. XO Sauce Beef Honeycomb Tripe Lo Mein $12.95 - 5/5 This one had two drawbacks. Firstly, it wasn't all honeycomb tripe but combined with regular tripe, which is much cheaper. Secondly, it was dark brown instead of golden in color compared with the picture on the menu. If they wanted, I could teach them how to cook golden-colored beef tripe. But the whole dish still deserves 5 stars. The beef tripe was so soft yet still chewable. By the way, the tripe was cleaned very well without any fat attached. The Lo Mein noodles were cooked just right with very tasty XO sauce. You could even find dried shrimp and dried scallop slices at the bottom of the plate, indicating they used very good quality XO sauce, most likely Lee Kum Kee (李錦記). Ribs and Sun-Dried Veggie Porridge $8.95 + Pork Liver $3 - 4/5 Sorry, I can't give it 5 stars. The dried veggies lacked the special aroma they should have. The salted ribs were not preserved well and also lacked the special aroma they should have had. The porridge itself was authentic, and especially the pork liver was very good. These were the thickest pork liver slices I had ever seen. I've cooked for more than 40 years but could never imagine pork liver could be cooked so thick. The texture of the pork liver was tender and sponge-like-very interesting. I don't know how to cook it this way, but I will study it. I was supposed to give the café 5 stars, but eventually I gave it 4. Not because of the food-the food tasted very good-but because there were so many wrong Chinese characters on the menu. It's like being a spelling pedant in English. The menu used Traditional Chinese, which is used in Hong Kong and Taiwan, but Mainland China uses Simplified Chinese. This menu combined both character systems together. For example: 「咸」 should be 「鹹」 「云」 should be 「雲」 「面」 should be 「麵」 「干」 should be 「乾」 「净」 should be 「淨」 「潤」 should be 「膶」 「猪」 should be 「豬」 Anyway, it's a good restaurant, very authentic.

Cute spot with lots of bear decor. The rice noodles here are really yummy and the prices are good too. Hard to find prices like these nowadays. The rice rolls we ordered were under $5 each. Service was quite fast and friendly also. I would def come here again.

I came here with another person to try this restaurant and it did not disappoint. We wanted something light and not heavy. We got two types of rice rolls - BBQ Pork and Shrimp with lettuce. We also got preserved egg with pork porridge. We were stuffed after finishing everything. I would come back to try other dishes. We came in around 6:40pm and was seated right away. It wasn't crowded. By the time we finish eating, we were the last ones there and they were getting ready to close the kitchen. Overall, I would come back and try the rice rolls again.

Small hole in the wall with pretty friendly staff for Asian standards. Pro: Food tastes really good. I got the brisket noodles in which the brisket were really flavorful and super soft. Portion size is decent. Pricing is pretty good. Also the dried shrimp churn fun (chang feng) taste fresh and delicious as well. Con: a bit stuffy where AC didn't seem like it was on. There's no special breakfast menu for food drink or combo. The tissue box is cute but the napkin is so rough... I rather have the super thin white ones that almost dissolves when you touch it- at least it's soft on my mouth. Overall, food and pricing is good. The con to me is just minor stuff. I'll still recommend it but just go on a cooler day and bring your own tissues

They have congee and other "breakfast" items all day! We like Hong Kong and Cantonese style breakfast items like congee, rice noodle rolls, and other small plates but many other places only offer during morning hours. We were happy they have it all day! Small place with a couple of tables. We came around dinner time on a Sunday and was about 75% occupied, and there were a steady stream of take out. We got some rice noodles, congee and fried noodles. The rice noodles came a little different than other places where the "stuffing" is on the outside! Because of that you can request additional meats or veggies as topping. Delicious and the price was right!

I was really craving rice rolls/ bánh ướt and this hit the spot! Super soft and the sauce was just right. The chili oil is very spicy, I love it. Small and cozy inside, service was great. There's ample parking shared with other businesses in a small plaza.

Food was nice and hot and had just the right amount flavor. Staff were friendly and speak English. The place offers a nice verity of food choices. From fries, wing to savory entrees. Place is small and cozy.

The food is consistently good, honestly better than a lot of nearby places that charge quite a bit more. What won me over right away, though, was the breakfast combo. Two dim sum items and a hot drink for just $14 is a genuinely good deal. A cold drink is only $1 more (typical HK practice), and you can also take your drink to go for another $1, which is a nice little convenience. I'm pretty particular about milk tea, so I don't say this lightly: their half coffee, half milk tea really hits the spot every time. It's balanced, and satisfying. Beyond the combo, they also serve all the comfort staples, porridge, fried chow mein, Chinese donuts, and my personal favorite, rice noodles with a variety of fillings. It delivers the same comforting flavors you want from a casual dim sum-style breakfast, but without the inflated prices, long waits, and hectic atmosphere that have become so common at more traditional dim sum spots. This place is a solid, dependable replacement for the usual dim sum experience. The restaurant is spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the service is consistently warm and welcoming. The driveway can be a little tricky. It sits right next to the Taco Bell drive-through exit, separated only by a fire hydrant, so it's easy to miss or get confused when pulling in. But it's a small tradeoff for a spot that delivers this much value and consistency.

Not a fancy place, but does the job!

Growing up in the west side, we never had a dim sum restaurant with push carts. Just about every Saturday, my parents would drive us (~18 miles) to Chinatown to have that real Asian dim sum experience. Well, sadly it now seems to be a thing of the past Full House, if you see this review, please consider bringing the dim sum carts back!! Tip of the Day!!!! They have $3 dim sum between 2:30- 3pm. So go around to their booth in the food court area. There is usually a line formed for these yummy discounted dim sum so get there early to get dibs!

The ambiance, red, gold, and silver walls will keep you immersed while dining. the waiters speak Cantonese and they also communicate effectively in English. anyone can tell they've had a lot of experience over the years. they're attentive, swift, and courteous which is pretty generous in Chinese culture. order the xiang pian hot tea when they ask you. it's tastes like jasmine tea. I also usually order iced water to go back and forth with it. also, order double the chili small plates if you like it spicy~ my favorites were 1) siu mai 2) shrimp rice rolls 3) beef tripe 4) har gow only con is if har gow filling didn't have any flour with shrimp- but still better than a lot of places. the fried dough was stale unfortunately and the lotus wrap rice didn't have as much filling as I'd like. if you can, come on a weekday morning to beat the crowd. their lunch menu is also from 10am-3pm and dinner 3pm to closing. i will come back to review those!!

We ended up getting a set for $168 this time, which came with 6 dishes. It's also $35 per lb for lobster, and I asked for the smallest one. Apparently, the smallest one was 4.8 lbs, which was another $168, so I'm not sure if they upsold me. Anyways, the food was fantastic and everyone enjoyed it. This is what I thought about the food we got. House Seafood Soup - Simple and clean soup. Good portion, and it was soothing to eat. Lots of squid. (4/5) Clams with Spicy Sauce - Large clams with tons of meat, and the sauce was fire. Always a good choice. (5/5) Crab with Salt & Pepper - Loved the seasoning, and the flavors were solid. (4.5/5) Thai Style Beef Stew - First time trying this, and it was good. A bit different, but the meat chunks were tasty and the overall flavors were good. (4/5) Sautéed Pea Sprouts - Nicely done vegetable dish. It's simple but refreshing with good flavors. (4/5) Fried Whole Fish - This dish was gone so fast because it was delicious. Nicely fried and not overly seasoned. (5/5) Signature Lobster - I feel like you have to get this here since it's their specialty. It's pricey, but in my opinion, it's the best and freshest lobster in town. Tons of green onions, seasoned well, fresh meat, and lots of lobster roe. (5/5) Service was good, and they didn't automatically add a mandatory tip for a large party. The total came out to around $364, which is pricey, but the food was phenomenal. Parking - Valet only, but they have street parking in front. I parked on the street since there were plenty of spots on a Wednesday, but I assume it gets busy on weekends.

It's cooked to perfect and delicious. I used to order this from the Alhambra Garden Cafe, but since that location has changed ownership, things went downhill. The German style pork knuckle had cruchy skin, meat was juicy, and the sides were great, just how it should be. I didn't take pictures because I was too happy to see this dish again!! They are the only one in SGV serving this dish. There were other places served it, but not anymore. This dish is one of my favorites, definitely not disappointed at all. I hope they will keep serviing it!!! I ordered various dishes here (Baked pork chop on spaghetti, Fried rice noodle with beef, rice noodels soup, salt pepper chicken wings, and various dishes), they all taste great and just how Hong Kong style food is like.

It was 6 of us and we get seated at the large round table in the middle of the restaurant. The menu is HUGE but me, my sister, and my uncle will usually order the grilled chicken and pork dish. My aunt usually gets a noodle dish such as the beef chow fun this time. My son got a meat sauce pasta with fries. We also got Thai tea which is refillable. My dad unfortunately didn't know what to get but he ultimately decided on the hainan chicken. The waiter confirmed 3 of the same dishes and we confirmed. The food came but mine didn't and it seemed the waiter only put in 2 orders. Therefore, I had to wait but my uncle shared half his pork and chicken with me because it was a lot for him. Good thing they didn't put on my order because i wanted pasta and not rice and my sister and uncle asked for rice, so good thing i got mine after with mushroom sauce (black pepper sauce is surprisingly too spicy for me). I love the mixed vegetables, but sure what makes it good since it's just bland zucchini, peas, green beans, carrots, and corn. But goes so well with the dish. The mash potatoes were also good...I loved everything tbh... My sister and I each got a refill on our drink and I felt a weird aura from the start so u didn't ask for another. We had so much leftover since I ate most of my uncles dish and he barely ate but I'm so happy they still had great portions.
