Clean spot with friendly guys behind the counter. Large stuffed sandwiches and soft fresh bread. My egg salad was delicious! Large menu of hot and cold sandos and some salads too! All beverages are bottled though. Nice spot , I will definitely be coming back!

This was my first time trying Mr. Sandwich and it was AMAZING!! the flavor of the turkey was so good. The price is also great for the size of the sandwich. It was a whole sandwich, but I ate half before I even thought to take the picture lol. Definitely worth it!! I will be coming back

Mr Sandwich let me just start by saying, I loved it! I'm a sandwich fanatic! This place did not disappoint, as soon as I walked in I was greeted and that's super important to me because honestly it just makes you feel welcomed. I let them know it was my first time and he was so informative and even gave me recommendations of some popular choices which is always helpful for a first timer. While waiting there were a decent amount of tables and I loved the Mr sandwich sign inside that said "Best in Whittier". Super cute. I ordered the Turkey Avocado sandwich and it was so delicious! It was stacked and totally worth it. We also tried the Pastrami since it was recommended and it was so good! The portion sizes were great here! I wish I got a picture of it, so now I need to go back and order another one haha! I will most definitely be back and can't wait to try something new!

I went for the first time today around 1. There weren't nearly as many people as there have been during the lunch hour. The staff were friendly, answered all of my questions. They have a great menu, sandwiches (hot and cold), salads and sides. I ordered the pastrami with a pickle on the side. The pastrami only comes with mustard on it. This was by far one of the best pastrami sandwiches I have ever had. The meat was cooked perfectly, the flavors were all there. The mustard they use is not too strong, it's a perfect pair. I am excited to return and try out some other sandwiches they offer.

An absolute gem! The food here is consistently delicious. Ingredients are always fresh and you can tell they put real care into every sandwich. My favorites are the Izzo Club and the Pastrami--both are so good! Beyond the food, the place is always spotless, which is something I really appreciate. It's one of those great neighborhood spots that is welcoming and familiar. David, the sandwich maker, is friendly and truly makes the experience special. The attention to detail, tasty sandwiches and warm personality of the staff keep me coming back here.

My daughters and I were craving sandwiches like usual. We decided to try Mr. Sandwich. If you grew up in the 90s you would remember the club sandwich from Denny's. I ordered the club sandwich and that is exactly what I got. That sandwich brought back good memories and nostalgia. The only thing I saw was an concern, is they have no restrooms there. The place is big enough and it had no restrooms. So if you are a parent like me, the restroom issue is a deal breaker when you got kids. Maybe get the food to go.

There's no denying it: Mr. Sandwich has great sandwiches. Fresh, generously filled, better than homemade. I used to patronize the Santa Fe Springs site years and years ago when I worked in the area and the food was delicious. This was my first time ordering at the Uptown location and my Club Sandwich was loaded with crispy bacon, ripe tomatoes, lettuce, and turkey..... the only suggestion I'd make is for the turkey to be freshly roasted. Regardless, I'll continue to order from Mr. Sandwich. Oh! The chicken salad sandwich is wonderful, too. read more

Not a great experience. Both sandwiches (rose beef and bbq chicken) were below average - as in Subway would have been better. Sandwiches were not very tasty, kind of dry, chicken breast was hard to chew. Not coming back read more

The sandwiches are ok. The hours of the business are very random and not always correct so it is hard to plan much here. They don't write down orders so this is the third time I have gotten and incorrect order. The frustrating part is they never forget to charge for the extras but forget to add them. read more

Crappy first impression! I love a good sandwich and have been looking forward to trying their chicken salad. So after living in the area for over five years thought I would give them a try. OWNER: LISTEN UP. 1st the sandwich was warmed in a microwave. That's horrible. 2nd sandwiches warmed in microwaves should never be $7.00 and change. 3rd it's ok if you take your time and properly prep your food, line and mise en place. 4th nothing was special about anything I had. 5th the service was great. Your place was clean. The cook stayed clean and was exceptionally fast. 6th....get rid of your microwaves 7th get ride of your microwaves 8th repeat 6&7 9th take a chance!!! Wow pleasantly surprised in uptown Whittier. Ok so if you live or work around uptown whittier you probably know David the sandwich artist. As for me I just met him and boy am I glad I did. You can always tell when a cook, chef or sandwich artist takes great pride in there craft. By when they take time and you can see the focus on they're faces. Also when they are observantly watching you eat the food they put out, this is what he does to insure quality my friends. First time here, walked in with my girlfriend and no greeting whatsoever (there was absolutely no one inside besides the two men behind the counter). Stood there for about 5 minutes trying to figure out what to order and still no acknowledgement. My girlfriend ordered the turkey sandwich with cucumber, dude said the cucumber was no charge but literally charged us a dollar for it. Our total came out to a little over 30 dollars for two small sandwiches, two bags of chips, and one water. Really???For the price I would have expected better quality meat, like Boars Head or something, but nah, just Walmart turkey. I ordered the chicken Cesar salad sandwich, If I would have known it was literally going to be salad sandwiched between to stale pieces of bread I would have ordered something else. I thought it was going to be a grilled chicken breast with a nice chunk of romaine, parm cheese and some bomb Cesar dressing but no... lol just salad in a sandwich! Messy af. Do not recommend. Waste of money. The guys who work there need to work on their people skills for sure. No hello's, just bad attitudes. Overpriced sandwiches with cheap ass ingredients. I went in with a bit of a rush before class and was so pleased. I ordered the Don Spicy sandwich and since it was my first time the young lady explained what was in the sandwich for me before I payed which was a nice thought on her end. It was relatively cheap for how much I got. The bread was nice and fresh, the meats all had that nice spicy kick which was aided by their freshness. Overall for a first time try I think I found a better sandwich place than a some generic chain. Definitely have to go back again. read more

This is one of the best sandwich places I have been to. So lucky to live, work, shop and eat in Whittier. They also used to have FRIDAY SPECIALS. First time here. Was happy to see how clean the restaurant looked. There was a man cleaning tables off as I waited, even cleaning the ones that were available. I am a sucker for Italian sub sandwiches so I let the cashier know I was looking for something in that fashion. She was very helpful and I chose the one that she recommended,"The Don" spicy Italian. Great choice. I really enjoyed the sand which and the crepe skinless that all the employees seems to show. I wish more restaurants would have their employees have the same type of service. But maybe that's why this location has been here for so long, as well as the good food. Will definitely coming back to try a different sandwich. read more

I was honestly shocked by how much I loved it and would absolutely order it again and again. So glad I took a chance on something a little different! My husband got the Uptown and said the smoked turkey was so bomb. He doesn't usually even like avocado, but he was absolutely chomping away at this sandwich So I'd say that's a pretty solid endorsement! The food itself was good overall. The only miss for me was the mac and cheese, which tasted like KFC mac and cheese that had a passionate encounter with a jar of jalapeño juice. Would I come back? Maybe. The food was decent, but for a first visit, the service definitely left a stronger impression than the meal did.

Today I hosted a company baby shower for one of our employees. I called a few days ago and spoke with the gentleman at Mr Sandwich to find out what they had to offer for catering. The guy just looked at me and was going to say no but then he processed what I had asked and he said yeah but gave me a look. I told him I was going to order but my kid needed the restroom first and he then told me where the bathroom was. When we came out I went to the register and the guy came up and just stood there. I then told him it was my first time and looked at the menu. I then asked him if there was a favorite burger and he quickly said "argentine" and just stood there again. He took my order and honestly it seemed like he was checked out or zoning out consistently. The order then took 20 mins to complete and it was To Go. I also was hearing as the lady cooking the food was just slapping the burgers on the counter as she finished them, without any care or decency. When I looked at my order I saw the fries were just in small paper boats covered with another paper boat, not something I expected for $6-7 for fries but I digress. First off, I got 3 burgers and 2 fries plus 2 Brazilian lemonades. While I was paying the screen gave me the option to enter my phone number and register to save points, well I wasn't even done registering when the cashier just processed the order and asked me to pay. I told him I was trying to register my phone and if he could get the option up again and he said no I can't. So he just said I had to pay for it and that he was sorry I couldn't get the points. This was extremely rude and felt rushed. I was the only person there ordering too and I told him it was my first time being there so I didn't appreciate the fact that he did that and didn't offer to fix the issue. Secondly, the lemonade was disgustingly bitter. It was gross and I had to throw both out. It tasted like they had blended overripe limes into the drink and they didn't even bother to see that the limes had gone bad. The burgers themselves were honestly average even with all the different flavors or toppings. I got the Nashville, Guadalajara and the Argentine burgers and they all tasted the same. Nothing special and actually tasted quite flavorless. The only difference was that the Guadalajara bun was soggy due to the juices that leaked to the bottom and it tasted mainly like cilantro. The Nashville burger tasted like bacon and that's it. Nothing special. The Argentine one had some flavor in the arugula/chimchurri sauce but aside from that again, the patty was bland. The Parmesan fries lacked flavor and the bacon/cheese fries were just sad. It felt like the just microwaved velvetta on top. Luckily the guy at the register disrupted my registration process because I will not be coming back. If you want plain burgers you're better off going to BK or McDonalds down the street.
