My husband and I happen to stumble on this place needing change for a $20 so we decided to give it a try since we were hungry! The best decision we made that day! 1st time here and I ordered a Greek chicken wrap., never again . No flavor, very skimpy , pure lettuce , little tiny pieces of chicken . Chicken tasted horrible like if it came from a can and I never even had chicken from a can but it just tasted funny. Plus they give you a little scoop of macaroni salad literally a tiny scoop like that's a cherry on top with the chicken wrap omg. No shocker this place closed talk about a Scimpy sandwich! Their photos show a huge thick corned beef sammy on rye but when I went they were out of corned beef and the pastrami sandwich barely had any meat and when I asked them why they were out of Corned beef at 2pm they got all rude. Came in ordered a club They let me know that it came with 3 slices of bread. I am watching my carbs so I asked if they had anything with just two slices of bread. I eat lunch here about 3 times a week now because I find it so healthy. They have a great selection of sandwiches and salads. Their salads are huge, so I buy one and eat half for lunch and half for dinner. They make their sandwiches sliced break as well as rolls ( I don't care for Togos or Subway - too much bread!) It's fresh and healthy. They also have tasty weekly specials. David the owner makes all the sandwiches and salads, and is very friendly and welcoming. If you're lucky, you might find one of his homemade carrot cakes - one of the best I've ever tasted. Hands down best sandwich shop in Whittier and it's surrounding cities. If you want a good selection of sandwiches with great quality ingredients and awesome customer service, this is definitely the spot. I've been going to Mr. Sandwich since I was a junior in high school and David still prepares the sandwiches the same way today, if not even better. I compare Mr. Sandwich to those small gems that you would typically find in places like 2nd street in Long Beach or Old Town Pasadena. I'm just happy that it's in Uptown only a few minutes from where I live and Work! I always get the tuna on Rye and it is always so fresh. Oh, and you have to to try the pickled Jalapeños and carrots that they make in house! Super crispy not mushy likes those canned ones other places use. read more

I came here and got the spicy Italian sandwich and asked for no lettuce or tomatoes and what did I get when I opened the sandwich? Lettuce and tomato. This isn't my first time either, my sister and I went to this place and she ordered a tuna melt with no lettuce and the other extras and got lettuce and the extras she specifically asked to not be put in there. I have worked in Uptown Whittier for 5 years and this is one of my favorite places to go. The sandwiches are pretty good but it's the service that keeps me coming back. This place is so disappointing, I like there chicken patty melt. So when I came in around 11 AM to order it, I was told it was too early to order that, if I wanted to wait 30 minuets because the chicken was in the oven. Hmm! Then why open at 10 AM if everything in the menu won't be available till after lunchtime? So, I gave them another shot. Came in later that day around 4:30 PM and the place was close (lock.) There was a male worker inside, on his phone and he let me know that they're closed for the day. But yet again sign on the door says "Open" 10AM-5PM. read more
