Excellent espresso tonic. The decor of the cafe is nice for both indoor and outdoor dining. It has a modern and sleek look. Plenty of seats. Only drawback I experienced is a complicated ordering system with two registers to order from and it's not clear to customers. Because of that the people behind me skipped me in line and the attendant did not stop them. Then the girl put in my order incorrectly as just espresso, but the barista fixed it. Mr. West caught my eye as we drove up to our hotel next door. The industrial/plant vibe that it had going really drew my attention. Not to mention, I loved the name. It wasn't until we were checking out that we actually had the opportunity to stop in. The line out the door was super long so it gave us time to look at all their plants as well as their menu. I'm not usually one to stray from my regular menu item, but my husband decided to order the root beer coffee drink. We waited quite a bit of time for our drinks, but I was just browsing the shop. Highly recommend the avocado toast on sourdough, simple but little touches of green onion and hot peppers really knocked it out of the park. Some of the best sourdough I've had! BE WARNED: the restaurant here closes *exactly* at 2:30pm, on the dot. The cashier called my party and I to the register, but right as we were starting to order, he cut us off, left to double-check with the kitchen, and returned before saying that the kitchen was closed for the day. I came with only two others and there was NO ONE ELSE BEHIND US. I understand needing to close the kitchen to allow for employees to clean up, but what I don't understand is: 1.) Why call us to the counter and start taking our order before checking whether or not the kitchen was taking orders anymore? At least check first!! 2.) If the kitchen closes exactly at 2:30pm, then why can't the employees put a sign out or something before then? 3.) There was literally no one else behind us. We were the last customers. Would it have been such a great inconvenience to close the kitchen after taking our orders? I've eaten here before, and the food here is otherwise pretty good, albeit expensive--hence the extra star. They brought it out super late, my entire meal was cold by the time they decided to finally bring it out. The texture of the bacon is horrible, it's soggy and weird as hell. I've never spit something out onto a plate so fast. This was the main source of protein I was counting on this morning. So disappointing, especially because this doesn't come with the meal, it's an additional charge. Everything else was just okay, I guess. The atmosphere is nice aesthetic-wise. They were understaffed. I dropped by for a quick lunch on a Sunday and I loved the vibe here. The interior is inviting and the location is central. Service is minimal and efficient. For for I tried the mr. breakfast and the egg/cheese croissant. The breakfast platter was yummy with perfectly poached eggs and the croissant was tasty as well with fluffy egg and a flaky croissant. I loveee Mr. West. This place makes me want to sit for hours and just read with a coffee in hand. I still have not tried a lot of their food unfortunately but I got their avocado toast and it was alright. There wasn't really any flavor to it and I wasn't a huge fan of the toast. The runny yolk was 100% the best part, but I'm not sure if I'll order it again. The Seattle Fog on the other hand was absolutely delicious. I think they add cinammon or hazelnut at top? We arrived in Seattle airport an hour later than expected. Got out rental car and drove to downtown to find a spot to eat. Walked about a mile looking and found this place. I really liked my egg breakfast sandwich and my son also found the tuna sandwich pretty good. The ambiance was inviting and the decor was nice. Craving for bakery in Seattle, I walked to this local cafe with the eagerness of trying their bread and coffee. There were many items that I would want to try, but having only the two of us could only let us pick the most wanted items from our hearts. The Ham and Cheese Croissant was something that I believed to be simple and in good representation of the pastry quality. It didn't disappoint. I was more intrigued by the taste of the ham actually more than the croissant, which wasn't bad, but the ham was the one that surprised me on its strong fresh taste. The coffee was more on the sour side, which wasn't my preference. I believe it could have fitted me better if I had asked more questions on its flavor. I also liked the Club Breakfast because of its vegetable portion. Eating half of it balanced out the meaty taste from the croissant. I believe the other food items will be great as well. Mr West is a decent coffee option in the area, but do be aware that their drinks are $$$. I work out of an office near here, and we occasionally make the trip out for coffee/ lunch. While the drinks are good, it's hard for a coffee to feel worth it at the price point. I have tried the food here, and it's been alright. The Mr West Club was decently filling, but didn't have anything to make it stand out. Ambiance is good, but a little sterile imo. read more

I really want to like this place, but it's just so expensive and comes off a bit pretentious. I've been twice, one ordered avo toast and once a salad. Both were described with fancy ingredients that the average person might not know and both were pricey. What i got were very basic orders, nothing fancy about them. The salad came out with four simple ingredients and was relatively small, yet it was about $17 after tax. I will say the food has been good, hence why 3 stars instead of fewer. I do want to give it another try and may try a more substantial meal next time to see if I feel like I'm getting more for my money. read more

Line out the door when we went for lunch. You can preorder and pick up which may save time. I first ate there for lunch. Ate the Turkey panini. It had a lot of sauce (messy) choice. It fell apart as I was eating it. Plus it would have been better without the bacon. The taste of the sandwich good. But the next day we enjoyed the Spring Yogurt with stone fruit, mint, yogurt, strawberries, coconut granola. Presentation was beautiful. I don't drink coffee but the macha no latte had a hint of vanilla and those choices were 5/5. But my lunch was a 4 of of 5. Friendly staff, nice outdoor area and interesting selections. Came at prime Sunday brunch and was able to get a table for 4 pretty easily. Tons of seating at tables and bar top (which I think is really cool). I forgot a pic of the inside but it's reallyyyy cute. If you like plants (I do!) then this is your spot. Tons of live greenery. You order up front and then seat yourself but they'll bring the food/drinks to you. The staff was really friendly and polite and attentive even tho it's not full service. I appreciate that . Especially in Seattle I was surprised there was no coat rack. That was a bummer. Trying to figure out what to do with our coats and scarves was awkward but not horrible. The food was good but not great. Presentation was killer! But things were lacking seasoning or over salted in my opinion but I'm not a huge sodium lover. The mimosas (not pictured) are great because it's not heavy on the Oj. Parking is what you'd imagine for downtown Seattle so plan a few extra minutes to sort that out. I recommend trying their toasts - their sourdough is some of the best I have had in my life. Also, be sure to ask for butter and homemade preserves! I also tried a cardamom latte. Nice little spot for breakfast. It was right by our hotel and we ended up coming twice. My husband enjoyed grabbing a newspaper and leisurely reading through it while waiting for our breakfast. The place is very aesthetically pleasing, marble, wood, plants - coffee bar by morning, wine bar in evening; it's a shame it closes soo early. Their lattes were very enjoyable, I tried their seasonal salted lavender honey latte too, which was good. Their egg and cheese croissants are nice too, add some bacon!! The food is overpriced but that's expected with how hipster the interior design is.
