July 23, 2024 Conveniently located next to multiple museums outside of Santa Fe. Sit down eating under the shade, with good ambiance, and table service. Wifes $19 stuffed poblano came with several large shrimp covered with cheese, pico de gallo, rice and greens in a baked flour shell. Wife had no left overs it was so good. My $20 Angus beef burger came with green chiles stuffed and cooked within the beef patty, and not with chiles sprinkled over the patty, and was excellent. Was a welcome break in the day, between visits to the nearby museums.

Nice cafe nestled on Museum Hill. Ample seating, nice front of house. Place was buzzing just after noon, but not so much that should have affected our service. Took the host to notice that after being there 10-minutes, no servers had approached our table. We decided to just get drinks and share some nachos. Both were good. Probably won't be back.

I enjoy going to the museums up on Museum Hill and I always like to get a bite to eat at the restaurant snuggled between the Folk Art and Indian Arts & Culture Museums. A great place for a relaxing afternoon. On a nice day, the best seating is on the patio. The food is always good with a tempting selection. Don't miss the dessert tray brought to your table by efficient waiters who offer the best service.

After strolling through the museums, we needed a break so stopped by the Museum Hill Cafe. The outside patio was nicely covered and there was a pleasant breeze. The crowd had died down by 2, earlier when we passed by, it was very loud and crowded. Service was a bit slow but they were all nice. I got the corn custard and it was delicious, sort of like a soft quiche with peppery poblano sauce that had a tiny bitter spicy kick to it. I loved the sauce so much, I used it for the salad as well. The salad and the dressing was ok.

If you're in Santa Fe checking out museums and go to Museum Hill, this cafe is a great place to stop and have lunch. They open at 11:00 and get busy quick. So reservations maybe needed. Service was good and atmosphere was nice as me and a friend had the window to see the snow fall as we had lunch. Plenty of seating, music and temperature was good and comfortable. The menu is not filled with a lot of choices but, has a good variety. Description is a little off, so make sure and ask if not sure. I ordered the grilled eggplant, with roasted peppers and pesto, cheese with French bread. As I was expecting it to not be a sandwich, that's what it came as. It was delicious as it was put together. Came with a salad with just greens with dressing. As someone who likes to treat myself, this seem to be a little pricey for what I got. Now, it is in Santa Fe so I get the ritzy hype but come on, the ingredients and how it's prepared shouldn't gouge customers. The desert I tried was chocolate pie that was delicious and rich, few bites were good as it was shared.

Outside seating available. Hope you don't mind being watched while you eat a patty melt.

We had a lovely lunch at the Museum Hill Cafe. My husband and I split the Swiss cheese Patty Melt on Rye Bread and a side of sweet potato fries, and we each had a glass of Chardonnay. The patty melt was well prepared and delicious. Service was excellent, the outside seating was very comfortable, and we were grateful for the opportunity to get lunch and relax between museums. Great views, too!

I had a delightful lunch at the Museum Hill Cafe today. I came to see the museums but stopped in here for lunch and found the view, peaceful setting and food a welcome and unexpected treat. My waitress, Shayna, was warm and helpful steering me to the shrimp stuffed poblano. This dish was a healthier and flavorful version with a roasted not fried pepper that was sweet and soft filled with perfectly cooked shrimp, diced onions and tomatoes and a rich of melted cheese. This dish was satisfying and served with a bright mixed green salad and Spanish rice. I skipped the rice and this was a great keto meal for me. It felt indulgent but was guiltless. The food is a bit pricey but the view makes it worth it.

Chris and I chose to dine here today for lunch after walking and visiting the adjacent botanical gardens. We were hot, hungry and needed to cool off before visiting the museums on the hill. The cafe sits on a beautiful elevated terrace between two of the museums. The building and ambiance are beautiful and the dining area has covered areas plus tables shaded with umbrellas. The menu is well planned with food that is New Mexican plus more mainstream sandwiches. We ordered the house made mushroom taquitos with mild red chili sauce and a side of lettuce, sour cream and pico de gallo. We also ordered the sweet corn custard with poblano cream sauce. It was served with a side salad for an extra three dollars. The food was delicious!!! Our reason for the three stars is service. Today's Monday lunch service really seemed to be impacting the quality of service. The host was friendly and quickly seated us at a great table. Our server was indifferent and arrival of food for our table and the adjacent tables was quite slow. We never received our drink refills. When ordering our food we had inquired if desserts were available since none were listed on the menu. The server responded "yes" and as we were still speaking to him to ask for details on the desserts he turned and walked away while we were mid- sentence speaking to him. We never saw him again until we started looking for an employee to bring our check so we could pay. Bathrooms were clean and spacious. Parking is free and easy in the lot directly in front of the restaurant. Additional staffing and some smiles from servers would go a long way towards improving the overall experience. I would dine here again because of the convenience however if I had ample time I would probably dine elsewhere in Santa Fe for a better meal and service at the same price point.

Efficient and friendly service. We didn't feel rushed, and had a pleasant and leisurely meal. Good for food lks who are gluten free. The mushroom taquitos were a tasty vegetarian surprise. My lentil salad was also tasty, pretty close to how I make it at home. Hubby had the reuben sandwich, which he liked very much. The gf bread had a texture similar to regular sandwich bread, with good flavor. As a committed foodie, I highly recommend!

The café has a cool, modern vibe with plenty of indoor seating as well as a nice outdoor patio. They were very busy on a Saturday morning. The counter staff was very matter-of-fact. Not rude, but not especially warm or welcoming either. Honestly, I got the impression she was just under a lot of stress. We also asked another staff member if we could use one of the patio umbrellas (they were all closed for some reason), and he was prompt and friendly, which we appreciated. We ordered a toasted everything bagel with cream cheese, a meat-filled empanada, a honey latte, and a cold brew. The cold brew was a little too dark for my taste, though coffee preferences are definitely subjective. Interestingly, there's a place in Albuquerque that has an almost identical flavor profile. The toasted everything bagel was very good, but it didn't come with quite enough cream cheese. The single cream cheese packet also felt a bit lackluster presentation-wise. That said, when we asked for more, the response was friendly and accommodating. The honey latte had beautiful latte art and great flavor, definitely a highlight. The empanada, filled with ground beef, green chile, and piñon, was a bit over-toasted, but the filling itself was flavorful, even if somewhat sparse. Overall, I think 35 North has a lot going for it and could easily elevate the experience with a few small improvements to consistency and customer service.

Food was terrible with small portions and outrageous prices. Service was slow. I was beginning to wonder if it would ever get to our table. We sat outside. The musician on the keyboards was a nice touch, but the most annoying part to me was the constant interruption from a man in his eighties trying desperately to hustle us into buying something from his insanely overpriced western wear shop in the same plaza. He tried to guilt trip me into buying something for my fiance. I completely ignored him. He kept coming back for the hustle. Pointing to me he said "He said he'll buy you something." "I own the building" Blah Blah. We drove 800 miles to get here. We wanted privacy for conversation, NOT a hustle. And he never let up. Sat near us and kept yakking. The more I ignored him, the more he glared at me. They don't even come close to understanding that restaurant customers don't come there to listen to him trying to sell you his merch like a timeshare salesman. I felt like I was in a plaza in Barcelona's gothic quarter with people constantly coming to your table trying to manipulate you into buying a collapsable wooden bowl. I also care about the vibe of a place, so the breakdown is 5-star coffee drinks, but ho-hum 3-star service, hence the 4-star review instead of the 5 I would've loved to have reported here. The place is a few blocks from where we stayed and was easy to walk to and find, knowing I'd be looking for a sign with a few animals on it and it may not be obvious to some that this business is a coffee shop. I ordered the Crash of Rhinos, which fits their clever theme. The drink was just sweet enough and unique and flavorful. However, when we walked in, there was no barista or anyone at the front to greet us; we didn't mind waiting a minute or two for someone to show up since it was clearly open and there were a couple customers inside (and duh, we were on vacation and not in a hurry). When the nose-ringed hipster-looking girl came around the corner I was disappointed that we were not greeted with a smile or a good morning, or "sorry to keep you waiting" kind of phrase. She took our order, made our drinks, and did not say thank you (I did, and tipped her $2. Why, I'm not sure). That was that. Hubs ordered the spicy mocha drink and it was a bit much; he decided it would be better iced or he'd try a different selection next time. Yes, there was a next time. Different barista, same kind of treatment. Still tipped just because I was a barista for many years and know this really helps supplement a worker's salary and encourage good communication with customers. This time I ordered the Murmuration of Starlings latte, which has rosemary, thyme, and cardamom notes. It was delicious but similar to the Crash of Rhinos drink. The third time we visited we entered through the Chocolate and Cashmere shop next door. I found it funny that the nose ring barista girl happened to be in that shop talking to the girl who worked there, but when we walked in, she quickly exited back to the coffee shop to sit with the other barista at a table in the coffee shop. The chocolate shop girl was so sweet and we even visited their location in the Plaza a day later and she was just as nice, even though that day we did not make a purchase. Overall I do recommend Crash Murder Business for their coffee drinks, but don't expect friendly service. (If you're looking for that, go to Iconik up the street!) Just because you work at a coffee shop and you have a cool haircut does not make you above others. Especially when small businesses work to please their customers and should encourage their return. Kind of a shame...but I would still go back for the coffee if I were ever in town again.
