During a layover, dropped in at the Mustard Seed for something to eat. It's located in Concourse D and directly across of Gate 26. Approaching the restaurant, a "BBQ" sign catches your attention so as a fellow smoker of meats, wanted to try their food. Angela was the only server working at the time. I had that feeling "are you really gonna eat here?!" based on her lack of a greeting, smile, or acknowledging my existence when I was standing 6 feet away at the bar. I grabbed a menu that was on the bar and she came over to take my order which was the brisket sandwich with a side of potato salad and a Diet Pepsi. The order arrived in about 3 minutes which was great. Took off the top bun and saw about 5 thin, broken up slices of what I believe was brisket. I tried it and it was tender but wasn't very flavorful, just okay. The potato salad was a single scoop on the side, which I enjoyed. The soda had no carbonation at all and tasted more like root beer as opposed to the Diet Pepsi I ordered. Finished the meal and left both buns uneaten...just cutting back on bread. Soda was left 3/4's full and sat back, waiting for the check. After about 15 minutes passed and Angela was still periodically serving others and then returning to look at her mobile device. I finally got her attention by raising my credit card above my head and she brought the check. Not sure what was going on but have a feeling what it was and will leave it at that. The bar appeared to be popular and many others were having something to eat. The place became crowded after I left. (I did shower before my flight, lol) I can understand if the service is below standard and the food makes up for it or vice versa. In the case of the Mustard Seed, I was disappointed on both. Maybe others will disagree so you'll have to try it out yourself. Unfortunately, I cannot give a favorable recommendation. read more

Slow service. Pulled pork- on able to give 1 of 3 available after 20 min wait. Then it was inedible. Worst pulled pork I have ever had. 2 pulled chicken sandwiches that were a substitute were dry. Brisket was pretty good. Also ran out of mac&cheese. read more

Let's start with Service: Good, she had some many people to take orders from and she handled like a pro. Not sure how she did it but she was good, don't know her name. Food was not good, when you are at the airport you expect to overpay for food, not complaining about the price the food quality was not good at all, my friend ordered wings, they came out in 5 minutes. Don't take these 5 minutes as a good thing because they were super dry, they must have been seating under that heat lamp for hours. The toast was a slice of wonder bread but not toasted, it was kind of funny to see. I ordered the salad which I also think it was ready for a while and they just unwrap it and throw it in a bowl. Myah is the true sparkle within this "diamond in the rough". She was such a light in the midst of the controlled chaos at the bar. Very knowledgeable, very attentive, very much so in control. It was honestly impressive! Love to see businesses putting the right people in the right positions. The food was good, the drinks were great, the service was exceptional. This place is inside the airport. We sat at the bar and had a glass of wine, smoked wings and nachos with chicken or pork don't remember which one. The wings were sooooo good! They were Smokey and fell off the bone . The nachos were so tasty and cheesy the perfect airport meal. The bartender was nice but not overally friendly . Was watching the waiter he was a really big guy and he wasn't being that nice to a couple at a table and shrugging them off. I hope he loses some weight so he can live a long healthy life. read more

I was much less impressed this time around. My server, Tori, was just as attentive and courteous as last time. But inventory management was having trouble. They were out of ribs at 4:30 PM. Ribs were the specific reason I came here. They were also out of my backup order, the BBQ nachos. And they were out of Stella beer, and put of butter for the cornbread I ordered. The pulled pork was good, and scratched the BBQ itch, but not as well as ribs. The Mac and cheese was bland and overcooked this time. And the Cole slaw left a lot to be desired. What a wonderful find and the service was exceptional. On New Year's Day I found myself hungry during a layover in concourse D in Atlanta. Finding places to eat in a place like an airport with Celiac Disease is very difficult. I had stopped at a couple different places that had no options for me before landing at the Mustard Seed. There were several things to choose from as all their meats and bbq sauce are gluten free. As I was waiting for my full size smoked wings, several orders of large portions of bbq nachos, sandwiches and salads came out. There was only the bartender working the entire, bustling front of house. She took orders, poured drinks, delivered food and bussed the whole area. Most of all though, she was a wonderful human being. She chatted us up, got to know us, joked with us and ensured we all had what we needed. What a hidden gem I found today in Concourse D! Specifically across from gate D29, you will find a Grind House Killer Burgers spot, and if you are REALLY lucky, Mimi will be there too! The space itself is a little on the small side, but I parked my infant and stroller along the wall just fine. While it's a small restaurant, the fried green tomatoes are a big hit!! Well there isn't too much I can eat from here as a pescatarian but I like the sides the MAC n Chz oh my goodness so good I wish the portion was a little bigger and the baked beans had such a good flavor along with the cornbread I was full ! This eatery in in the D terminal of the Atlanta Airport. I ordered a Cobb salad but they said no salads or eggs today. I then ordered a pulled pork with coleslaw but they said no coleslaw so I subbed the potato salad. I asked for extra BBQ sauce on the sandwich but it came out without the sauce in a small condiment cup on on side. This entire order was placed 'to go' to be. I summed on the plane. They also had no bags to contain the food, napkins or cutlery. When I opened the sandwich I found plain cooked pork chunks swimming in the cooking meat broth. Needless to say, this rendered the product inedible as a sandwich since the bottom bun was soaked and fell apart. The potato salad was your typical premade salad. The pork was tender but the large chunks were awkward so definitely not 'pulled'. The flavor of the meat was just ok and the BBQ sauce was surprisingly tasty. In my experience, airport food had been notoriously awful. This was not the case here. I would have rated them better Gad the sandwich not been soaked etc. So I only give them a C+ for effort and a B for taste. Too bad yelp doesn't allow 1/2 stars read more

Thank God this was next to my gate because I needed a cocktail after this airport had stressed me out. This place is located in Terminal D close to gate D25 area. My bar tender was so nice too, she didn't have an attitude or anything because it was too early. Anyway I got a double bloody Mary and a chicken sandwich, to my surprise it came with a side so I got potato salad. Basically the chicken sandwich was so good and tender & not dry. The BBQ sauce was a little too thick but was good on the sandwich. Now I'll tell y'all the truth... The potato salad was actually good! Could pass for homemade. Which it probably was I saw the chefs in the back so it's legit. Definitely visiting this restaurant if I'm ever in terminal D again. read more
