The saltiness was on spot to me, but some might like it to be more assertive. Chicken was dry. Understandable as it was a boneless skinless breast. However, my friend's thigh with skin was also dry. Chicken was a blank canvas with almost no flavor. This came from someone who likes a really mild flavor. I recommend to dip the chicken with the sauces for flavors. Soup was sadly lukewarm although tasted good. Deep broth taste, natural sweetness, very mildly salted. Green onion and cilantro gave a rawness contrast. Giblets were well-cooked and tender. Not much gaminess except for liver. The sauces remedies that aroma. Ginger and spicy sauces were excellent. I prefer the ginger to be more coarsely minced. I recommended soy sauce just as needed. I ordered a Bun Rieu today. Worst bun rieu I've ever eaten in my life. There is no "rieu" (crab paste), no meat or bloodcake. All customers are required to wear face masks when entering, use hand sanitizer or wash hands before getting a table, and menus are given as paper sheets, instead of menu books. Our waiter took our order. My fiancé had the com ga nam an, also known as chicken rice, and I had the bún mang gói ga, which is vermicelli with bamboo shoots and a side salad with chicken. We split our meals so we can have each other's meals. The chicken is super tender and the broken rice with the sauce is delicious. The chicken melts in your mouth-soft and not dry at all. The vermicelli dish was absolutely delicious too, with a really flavorful broth. Perhaps they could've added a little more vermicelli but it was still the right amount of portion. The side salad with the chicken (same used as the com ga) was just tender. It's in the little end corner of the plaza and we got seated immediately for lunch! They're known for their "Com Ga Nam An" which is their classic chicken and rice dish. It comes with a delicious dipping sauce (could be eaten with chicken or poured onto the rice), and a little bowl of soup. It goes for about $10-11 and is so worth it! The restaurant is modern and clean looking. A bit on the small side, but it's ok. Our group of 7 seemed to fill a good chunk of the seats. But it doesn't seem like they're ever too busy so you shouldn't have a problem coming in and getting seated fairly quickly. The Hainan Chicken is their specialty. To get anything else would probably degrade your experience quite a bit from the mediocre experience you may get from coming here. The chicken itself is tender and "clean" tasting. (If you've had other Hainan chicken, you'll know what I'm talking about.) The dipping sauce is the only thing that really stood out in my mind from the normal sweet/tangy ginger fish sauce. My lemongrass chicken was good but it was more in the cold side. I did like that there wasn't any bones on any of the chicken. That made it easier to eat. The chicken pho wasn't very good and it has lots of weird chicken intestines and other parts that wasn't eatable. The iced tea here is pretty good and is kind of strong. The wait for the food here is pretty quick which is around 10 minutes so it's not too long and the ambiance here is pretty nice.
