I went to try Nan Noodles today because I saw a friend recently try this place out and hype it up. However, I wasn't really impressed unfortunately :( We came at 2:30pm and didn't know that they close at 3pm and reopen at 4:30pm. Nan noodle is located on a busy street, but luckily they're located in a plaza with plenty of parking. Upon entering, I was impressed by the abundance of seating and bright interior. It looked like it was newly renovated and everything was super clean. We were seated right away and there was only one other person there. There was a server who was super nice and guided us to order online through a QR code. I got the traditional crossing the bridge noodle and my boyfriend got the golden beef version. The traditional crossing the bridge noodle had a box of raw ingredients that you'd add into pipping hot broth with a side of noodles. However, the golden beef version had everything cooked with noodles on the side. The presentation was really beautiful! However, I wasn't super impressed by anything. The raw ingredients were fresh and the broth was pretty good, but it didn't have the wow factor I was expecting coming into the restaurant. I think that it could have been deeper in flavor and it was missing something. The golden beef was good and tasted almost like a curry, but still not impressive. I was really underwhelmed by the noodles. It was over cooked and lacked a bouncy texture. I thought it would be more special (e.g. thicker or hand pulled) but it tasted similar to bun bo hue noodles (if anyone is familiar). We also got the spicy wonton in chili sauce which was only okay also. The prices were good relative to size. We paid $47 for everything and had leftovers. However, as a whole, I would not make the drive again to this place in Bellevue :( read more

If you love a good chewy noodle, this is your place. If you love spicy food, even better. On top of that, if I could give this place 6 stars for great customer service, I would - and that's a hard one recently as businesses continue to struggle finding good staff! We had a party of 10, which they were super accommodating about, letting us know they'd try their best during the dinner rush, but we might have a little wait, etc. I love it when someone politely sets expectations! Pretty much from start to finish these guys exceeded expectations: from reservations over the phone to the food to right up to settling the bill. Between all of us we basically got everything on the menu and every item was super fresh, tasty, and wonderfully presented. Personally I recommend the thicker noodles over the thin ones. The 'crossing the bridge' dish is really very good and I think is the only non-spicy dish. But don't be afraid of spice here. It's not habanero, it's like a peppery mouth-numbing flavorful spice. But the 2 nonspicy noodles I ordered were fantastic. Possibly the best noodles I've had this year. This would be a 4.5 star restaurant in NYC. I have to say it was a great first experience eating Yunnan food. First, the interior and ambience of the restaurant is really nice and unique. I'm not familiar with Yunnan Cuisine but I got to try the Signature and Golden Beef Crossing the Bridge Rice Noodle and both had great presentation and each had their own unique and delicious flavor. The Signature one tasted almost herbal and hearty but in a good way (probably my favorite of the two) while the Golden was a more familiar spicy chicken broth. I also tried the pig trotters and fish balls, which they recommended, and they were great with a little spicy kick. The servers were also really helpful and kind. Overall, I recommend trying this restaurant out, especially if you've never had Yunnan Cuisine. Also you know it's legit when the people eating there are mostly Chinese ^^ read more

Traditional Yunnan rice noodles!!!!! Someone who is obsessed with spicy food-- you must try spicy beef crossing the bridge rice noodles!! The broth was so rich and flavorful. AND decently spicy! My group ordered combo and it comes with an appetizer, rice noodles, drink, and dessert!!! Cannot beat the price for what you get. I got cucumber salad as my appetizer which was very refreshing and a little sour (in my opinion it helps when you eat a little greasy food). But chicken wings and spicy trotters were also great options. Got mango green tea which was also a great choice (it is a little on the sweet side though). And coconut milk jelly to finish off. I liked how it wasn't too sweet but I could taste coconut and jelly combination which adds to the sweetness flavor (also tastes healthy too so i wasn't feeling too guilty after finishing a big meal ). It was a great portion and i was pretty full after finishing the whole combo dishes (mins you, I do eat a lot). Plenty of room inside and parking ls outside. When I first saw photos of the food here, I thought that it might have just been some gimmick in order to attract people. Of course, I had to try it for myself so I could judge for myself. A couple friends and I came here late one night. There weren't many people here so we were seated right away. The 3 of us each ordered their signature dish, the crossing the bridge noodles. Since the dish comes with a big hot claypot of broth, a huge serving tray of items to be added in the broth, and your serving of noodles, the table became crowded quite quickly. You follow the instructions on the table. Make sure you do this in order so that each item is cooked properly and thoroughly. I fell in love at first sip! The broth was rich in flavor. At first being skeptical at the "gimmick" of placing all the raw items in the broth, I was actually surprised at how perfectly cooked each item was. The portion is quite large so I recommend splitting it with another person and ordering an appetizer/side. Service was very friendly and waters were constantly being refilled. I had gone in again during a busy time and the broth wasn't as rich, but it was still satisfactorily tasty. The broth came out MUCH slower than the first time, which is surprising considering the broth is already made. At the end of your meal, you take your bill to the cashier to pay. Yunnan noodle restaurant in a strip mall along the part of NE 20th St that has a lot of other Asian businesses. Bright interior, mid-small size. Went there with a group on a Saturday night, and the place was doing good business but not completely full. The menu is pretty small and features Yunnan style rice noodles and appetizers. The signature is the crossing bridge noodle, which is served as a platter of ingredients, a bowl of noodles and a big bowl of boiling soup that you have to do the mixing. Ingredients include a few slices of meat, seafood, veggies and garnishes. The portion for any individual ingredient is tiny, but added together with the noodles and the big bowl of soup the portion is actually quite respectable. The finished product (after mixing everything) tasted pretty good, mostly due to the soup which was delicious. The whole dish is a little bit less than $15. Not cheap for a bowl of noodles, but it's a big bowl of noodles. It's a bit like a personal hotpot. Overall I liked it. read more

Food is great! Very authentic Yunan-styple rice noodle soup. I've been there twice despite leaving in Seattle and had to drive for quite some time. If you plan to order one dish, I'd recommend the Signature crossing-the-bridge noodle. The chicken soup is the best I had in US so far. It will soothe your stomach and make you feel very warm and comfortable. Thick and delicious. So I give a 5 star despite other setbacks in this restaurant. The spicy beef noodle is also quite good. The portion of beef is quite generous. My boyfriend is not an Asian, but he likes the food here. He's favorite appetizer is the deep fried potato with spicy powder. He referred to it as Szechuan-style fries. And it is quite good lol The major setback is the lack of service people. First time we went here, we waited for almost a whole hour. The only waiter in checkout place is clearly too busy to checkout people, managing seats, talking to waiting customers and sending in next-in-line at the same time. I took my dad out for lunch and we wanted to try something new so ended up here. We got there around when they open and it was already getting crowded. The place is clean and nice and spacious. We got the crossing bridge noodle, a side of the marinated platter and the fungus salad. The crossing bridge noodle is humongous and can easily shared between two people. The soup in my opinion was bland but my dad really liked it. It was creamy but light. Personally, I was excited to do my own soup but it was a little anti-climatic. You just need to follow the instructions on the card and that's it. The marinated platter was ok, nothing special. The fungus salad was yummy, I like the flavors and how fresh it was. Service was ok, theyy brought the food out pretty fast, but other than that, they disappear after they take your order. Welcome to the eastside, PAVO. We're glad to have you! I was browsing through Yelp with some downtime I had one day and came across PAVO during my search. What drew my attention, of course, was that beautifully plated assortment of goodies. Not to mention, the stellar reviews and rating. When my partner and I decided to go, at around 6 PM, there was already quite a wait. The good news is that it's a big place and service is very quick. So we waited at most 15 minutes. We were seated at the only two-person table, despite there being mostly parties of two. What we quickly found out, after placing our orders, is that the beautiful presentations of goodies are huge - they take up half the table. So we were left juggling things a bit, but it wasn't a big deal. Once we got our broth, we followed the instructions at the table (FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS!!!!) and were able to have the servers pick up the big plates. Once that was all settled, we finally got to dig in. The broth was savory and warm. It was fun to fish out all the things I had put in. The meats cooked perfectly because the broth comes in a clay pot, which gets very hot. For the great presentation, flavors and portions, I considered $15 a steal. We also got a side of the spicy cubed meat upon a friend's recommendation, but we weren't really fans. The noodles alone are plenty of food anyway. It was a cooler summer day, so the food somewhat fit the weather. But I can definitely see myself coming back here often during the fall and winter. read more

I wanted to come here for the Cross the Bridge Noodles, since it makes for such a nice, aesthetic photo. I hadn't heard many things about it, or read many reviews, so I came with a pretty open mind. When we walked in, it was pretty busy, but we managed to get a table for two. There were only a couple of servers, but they were really attentive and took our order quickly. We didn't wait too long for the food to come out, but we had ordered cucumber salad as an appetizer, and it came out last, only after we asked them where it was. The Cross the Bridge Noodles were cool because it was a DIY process. On each table, there are instructions on what to add first and how to eat it. I tasted the broth first, and it wasn't very seasoned, but I liked the simplicity of it. The amount of proteins were just enough, and the additional veggies were a nice touch to mix in with the noodles. The noodles had no flavor, so overall, the soup wasn't exploding with dimension, but I didn't mind it. I really like seolleongtang (Korean ox bone soup) which has no flavor until you add pepper/spices, so I thought maybe that's why I liked this simpler broth. At the end of the meal, our plates were cleared away, and you walk up front to pay. The parking area is small, may not easy to find a parking spot during peak time. The server comes to get my order right away, the service was attentive and fast. This is a clean establishment located in the suburbs of Bellevue, so it is right next to a parking lot. The establishment is nicely decorated and clean. People complain that the soup was too salty, but note that Yunnan cuisine is known to be on the saltier side. Because of COVID, you order through your table by scanning the nearby QR code. You then pay later at the cashier in the front. If I were to go here again, I'd definitely pay an extra dollar to get the beef brisket noodle soup, as it comes with more appetizing sides such as enoki mushrooms, broccoli, corn, spam, and lettuce. He suggested the vegetarian or spicy beef bowl and said he'd tell the kitchen to make the soup without pork. Crossing the bridge noodle (过桥米线) and spicy beef noodle are two of my favorite delicacies from China. After trying and having them at Yunnan, I fell in love immediately and have been constantly looking for them ever since, wherever I am in the world. Upon hearing that Pavo is opening in the area, I was really excited to give it a try! I ordered the Spicy Beef Noodle Soup and the Tomato Crossing the Bridge Noodle Soup. Both items sadly turned out to be underwhelming. The presentation was great, but that's about it. The beef noodle soup was rather bland, with only a few pieces of meat. On the other hand, I like the tomato broth, but the ingredients / fillings for the noodle tasted not as fresh. I have definitely had better versions of Crossing the Bridge noodle outside of Yunnan, and unfortunately probably wouldn't venture across the water to have this again. read more

This place is a shadow of what it once was. We've been regulars ever since they opened, and they've always been consistently good - until now: 1. They cut the noodle portion in half. My wife, a small person who weighs a hair over 100 lbs, walks away hungry. 2. The soup isn't hot, so none of the flavor absorbs into the noodle. 3. They're extremely inconsistent. We ordered their classic crossing-the-bridge rice noodle dish. It was 14.95. The portion was a great size. It definitely fed two people. There was a lot of ingredients and they were fresh too. We also ordered a spicy beef cube ($6). There was a little sheet with instruction on every table. This help us with the order to put the side into the pot. Which was very helpful. Raw meat went in first, then the veggies and cooked meat, lastly the rice noodle. Be sure to not take picture for too long the broth will go cold and then your meat won't cook. The broth was very flavorful. It had many different taste, since there was fish, pork, chicken, veggies, deep fried pork spam, and fungi. And if you want an extra kick you can add their chili sauce. Definitely recommend trying their chili sauce. The spicy beef cube was seasoned with a lot of mala spices. It was what I expected to taste. However, the texture was surprisingly harder than what I imagined. It was more like jerky texture. The server said it was beef thigh, which I guess is a bit tougher texture. I've never been to Yunan so I'm not sure if that's how it's suppose taste like or not. However, it went well with the soup and noodle. It was interesting to try. Overall, we had a great experience. We were craving some noodles so came here on a weekend afternoon. Clean space, got seated quickly, and pretty easy to order online. We started off with the PAVO skew combination which comes with two skewers each of beef, pork belly, and sticky rice. The sticky rice was the perfect combo of chewiness and crispiness, it was my personal favorite out of the three skewers. My friends got the spicy beef rice noodle and I got the tofu flavor rice noodle. The tofu dish was labeled as a cold dish. I was worried that it was going to be too cold, but to my surprise, it was a slightly warm dish instead which I didn't mind. I really enjoyed this dish, the sauce was super flavorful and the portion was huge. There was way more meat than noodles, which is a good problem! It's a unique make/your own noodle soup experience (to quote Bill Murray: "What kind of restaurant makes you cook your own food??") but Pavo was very cool and the appetizers were bomb. Quick check in process- they'll text you when table's ready, and our wait time was only like 10min. Not gonna lie, came here for the esthetic presentation of the cross the bridge noodles. Not so impressed with the taste though. First of all, do not come here if you can't eat pork, unless you just wanna taste some appetizers. All the soups are pork based. One of the servers did not know that and served it to my Muslim friend and it was a total mess. The broth was not strong enough in my opinion. Most of the other cross the bridge noodles I've had including the authentic ones in Yunnan had much more flavourful broth. The rest of the ingredients are not seasoned, and are supposed to extract their flavour from the soup, so the whole thing was pretty bland. The appetizers were decent though. We had to order a lot of them for our Muslim friend and they were all tasty. The service was lacking; waiters were slow and indifferent. Always love trying something new, had the Crossing Noodle Soup for the first time. Really good broth, but wasn't a huge fan of this type of rice noodle, so next time would leave them out. Did like all the items that you add in. Made it a good winter soup. Huge bowl though, so 1 is enough for two average appetites to share, even three smaller appetites; one was definitely too much for me!! Also had the black fungus salad...different here as marinated in lime juice, so tasted more like a ceviche flavor rather than Asian. Was great to try once for sure. We don't normally dine-out, but I noticed that this restaurant seemed to be very clean and not very crowded. Plus the decor and clay bowls were really eyecatching. Came here as a family and got the 3 Crossing-the-Bridge-Noodle combo that had all three flavors. We each had our own favorite haha. The value here is really good, and the food is really yummy. I like having all the different meats and vegetables. The staff were really kind to give us enough tamarind juice for four people with our combo. They were pretty attentive too, and of course polite. I really liked the fried trotters. And there was a lot of food. I was shocked to see people handle such huge portions on their own when we couldn't even finish.
