Place was well lit, clean, and flowed well. The staff was incredibly helpful and suggested the Hot Dang Chicken Sandwich. I added some Mac n cheese and ordered an iced tea. Everything came promptly. Honestly gross food. Employees were nice. We got a coupon buy one get one chicken sandwich. They didn't apply the coupon, went back and fixed it it was close to the same full price.... Coupon essentially did nothing. Still 25$ for one sandwich and 2 drinks. Fries were decent. Mac & cheese gross. Sandwiches gross. The spice was fine but overall flavor, chicken and preparation was not my favorite. Outside is also covered in bird poop. I'd be fine never stepping foot in that building again:) read more

The first time I went here, I wasn't impressed by the Mac & cheese, which had received rave reviews. But I received a side with my tenders order and it made me want to write this review. It was so creamy and wonderful. I'll be dreaming about it. The three-piece tenders is a great value. The tenders are huge. I thought the $13 meal seemed high, but it will leave you quite full. The tenders have a great texture and are well seasoned. If you like spice, get the one above kickin'. It's more mild than I anticipated. I come to Nashbird all the time for both take-out and dining in. Dining in is fast and tasty! And they keep the eating area and bathrooms clean. Ordering take out couldn't be easier online or by phone, and they are FAST with preparing the food. To pick it up you just walk in to the counter and say your name. Easy! My go-to meals are the dark meat basket and the Nashvillian (my new favorite). The dark meat basket comes with toast that gets soaked with whatever sauce you choose, which is delicious. My favorite sides are the fries and the mac and cheese. I am a fan of spicy food so "Kickin" and "Hot Dang" spice levels are about right for me. If in doubt, "Kickin" is a great place to start. In addition, the drinks are great and reasonably priced. I love that they have indoor and outdoor seating options, and I also appreciate that the staff are very friendly. So, my initial review of Nashbird was a while ago and I've really been craving some spicy chicken and decided to give it another try. And I was rewarded. I don't know if it's just their chicken wings that I wasn't a fan of, as I haven't tried it again since, but holy moly they've got some delicious and FAT chicken tenders. I am now a believer in the Nashbird and have annoyed my girlfriend with my desire to order it repeatedly. They're spiciest flavor is such a good pain, but more importantly it taste delicious! So many spicy things end up being only heat and no, or terrible, flavor. That isn't the case here. So, my bad Nashbird for not giving you a second chance earlier. It was gonna be a while before our food came out and the manager sent out fried pickles and macaroni and cheese fries balls and they were awesome, just to hold us over. We ordered chicken tacos and wrap at the kicker level and it was the perfect level of spicy but not overwhelming. So good in fact you'll only see them in one "all over" picture because I ate them before taking their "pickle selfie." Then on to the beer. What is better than a place having good beer on tap?? A place that has OKLAHOMA AWESOME beer on tap. I love dark beer. I got the Iron Monk Milk Stout and my guy got Prairie Artesian Ale Standard Ale. Both were fabulous and even better were happy hour prices! On to the meal! We both got the three tender meal that comes with two sides. My guy went soft with the buttermilk ranch tenders with onion rings and Mac and Cheese. I was a little worried as I had read a review that the reviewer wasn't a fan of the M&C but rest assured it was good. It wasn't stupendous, but it wasn't meant to be the star of our Chicken show! I got one kickin, which I think is Tobasco, one hot dang, which is habanero, and one crazy hot, which I think they said ghost pepper??? I also got coleslaw and onion rings. They offer 3 dipping sauces, ranch, pickle ranch, and honey mustard. I got the first two. My game plan was to go up the heat scale but I didn't listen to the instructions on which tender was which. I think I started with kickin. Tasty but not hot to me. I then meant to go to hot dang. HOLYMOLY. DANGER DANGER SOMETHING ISN'T TASTING AS PLANNED. LOL. THAT.is.ALL. Oh, hey Nashbird, I've heard so much about you. We came in on a Friday night; right before the 4th of July. There wasn't that many people there so we walked right up to the counter to order. My husband got the mixed basket, crazy hot. I got the chicken strips, kickn'. My husband really liked his chicken. He loves spicy food and this was perfect for him. My heat level (kickn') was good as well. I can say though, that the chicken wasn't anything really great, imo. So, yeah, the chicken was greasy as some say, but come on, it's fried chicken. That didn't bother me that much. The chicken itself was flavorless. It was completely one dimensional. All you could taste was spicy with a bit of salt. Basically it was really bland chicken with a thin flour/cayenne and a bit of salt dredge on it. I got onion rings as a side. Those were really good. I also got macaroni and cheese. Anytime I visit a place for the first time and they have macaroni and cheese, I'm going to try it. It was also just ok. You could tell they cooked the noodles in the sauce. It had that starchy gloop going on instead of the rich and creamy most people dig. My husband agreed with me on that, so it's not just me. I went to wash my hands in the bathroom to clean up a little only to see how nasty it was. You remember those bathrooms in the club? The ones where if you went in to use after midnight you'd need a penicillin shot? That's what it was like. It was so bad. The walls are exceptionally dirty. You could see people's fingerprints all over them. I I'm trying to show some decorum here so that's all the information I will give. My heart screams, I see it in my dreams, my soul sings.. for this chicken. I just had an out of body experience at Nashbirds and i believe it was the closest to the fried chicken gods that I've ever been. Let's get to the details shall we. I ordered the Hot Chicken Sandwich at a Hot Dang heat level which is 3/4 on the spice chart. The chicken was breaded perfectly with a thin fry and a large helping of juicy chicken breast. After my first bite I believe my pinky toe must have stepped into heaven because i experienced complete nirvana. I thought the chicken would be spicy however it was very mild so next time i'll have to try out the crazy hot. I do like spicy things but i had hoped i'd start sweating however there was little heat. The bun with the chicken sandwich was perfect and the coleslaw and pickle were a great touch to quell the heat if it were spicier. For a side i ordered the Cucumber salad which was a cup of cucumbers that were almost pickles.. they were very good and sweet. My whole party enjoyed the meal and we plan on returning very soon. My husband and I decided to stop in for lunch on Tuesday 10.6.2020. I ordered the Housemade Chicken biscuit with pickles on the side, add bacon, cheese, and a fried egg and my husband ordered the Hot! Chicken Wrap. Due to COVID-19 we enjoyed the option of outdoor seating. When our food came out it, my order had the pickles on it and didn't have the additions that I paid for: cheese, bacon, and a fried egg which is why I took off a star. Now, in OKC, an hour after visiting Nashbird, I find myself still thinking about their hot chicken sandwich. The shimmering brioche bun with a slight crust that gives way with the least pressure to tender crumb. The chicken... the chicken... sorry lost my train of thought there for a second. The breading on the chicken had an intriguing spice blend, while the chicken itself was very juicy and flavorful, perfectly cooked. As for the sauce - I got the Kickin' heat level and it was right where I wanted it. My nose ran a little bit and I could feel my sweat glands starting to activate. A very pleasurable spicy food high, although next time I think I'll take it to the next level - Hot Dang. The sandwich was most definitely the star, but I do need to mention the fried pickles, made with pickles sliced along the long axis. I had never had fried pickles prepared this way, and now I'm not sure I can go back to standard circular slices. For my side, I chose the mac n' cheese, which was okay (side note: I've been striking out on mac n' cheese a lot lately, I need to look into this further to find OKC's hidden mac n' cheese gems). It had a very creamy, luxurious texture, but was a little cool and didn't really do much for me flavor-wise. A dash of Louisiana solved that problem. FYI - this place did strike me as being quite busy. We went on a Wednesday at around 11:30 AM. First time eating here in person. Not too crowded or busy for later lunch (1:30pm). Plenty of parking though it is a gravel lot. I like that they have a patio and will have to come back with my dog since they're pet friendly. I ordered the chicken wrap heat level chirp with side of Mac and cheese. Yesterday I called to order a bucket of chicken tenders and a bunch of other stuff so we could pick it up and bring it out to our friend's baseball game. I have no idea why, maybe they were too busy, but they would not take my order. They said we can't do your order on the phone, we can only do it if you come in. I've been wanting to eat here because the chicken sandwiches looked amazing. I got the chicken sandwich and fries. The sandwich wasn't bad, but I wish there was more slaw to contrast the heat of the chicken. It was also really messy. My hands were covered with grease/sauce/spices after every bite, but at least they have wet naps at each table!
