Amazing experience here this evening. We were a party of 15 in a busy restaurant at dinner and the service was impeccable! Everyone was happy with their meals, and all the food was freshly prepared and full of flavor. It's a loud, open restaurant, fitting for a bustling eatery you should definitely visit!

We come here every so often. All pizzas are just amazing. I tend to forget that my camera eats first. We've had the Quattro formaggi, the funghi + salsiccia and most recently the capricciosa. They are all delicious, hard to pick a favorite. So delicious. It's always packed and busy but the staff are nice and efficient. We will keep coming back!

Our group had a variety of pies we shared and really enjoyed their friendly staff and atmosphere. We settled in a booth. Service was immediate with wine and our order. The place has a cool vibe and was busy on a Saturday afternoon. The pies took a little longer than hoped over 30 minutes. The Prosciutto Rucola app did push out quickly and was scrumptious! The pizza was worth the wait. My favorite the margarita. I would return absolutely recommend.

Nice spot on u Chicago campus. Indoor and patio seating available The gnocchi was good, the bolonase was only ok. It was undercooked and bland. My pasta was very nice with muscles and a black truffle garlic sauce. The deserts were fine

Came back here after my first visit over 5 years ago and pleasantly surprised that the quality of the pizza was as good as it was 5 years ago - consistency is key! Our service was excellent and we all ordered pizzas which were cooked beautifully and quite favorable. This place is such a gem in the area... still!

For one of our date nights, we decided to give this place a try. We made a reservation, and there's street parking available. The server was very nice and welcoming, and our food came out pretty quickly. We ordered a seafood salad, pizza, risotto, and a pasta dish. Let me just say--we got so full that we couldn't finish the pasta and risotto. The prices were reasonable, too. I definitely recommend coming here for the pizza; I loved that the dough wasn't too thick.

Rating is more of a 4.5/5 but I've been twice and enjoyed my experience both times. I've also uber eats their pizza and it's great even to enjoy at home. Ambiance (5/5): spacious interior, brightly lit, and the interior shelves have mirrors with little sayings and cans of tomatoes line the shelves. Service (4.5/5): we've been seated pretty quickly both times and service is always very kind. Waters are always filled up and have managed to have a short conversation with the staff even when it's busy. Food: Diavola Pizza (4.8/5): I LOVE this pizza. The tomatoes are bright, the toppings are perfectly savory, and the crust is crisp on the outside, fluffy in the middle. Don't forget to ask for crushed red pepper. Funghi Pizza (3.8/5): for some reason everytime I've gotten the mushrooms, the bottom ends up being soggy but the crust that's untouched by mushroom is fine. Mushrooms are sweet but the soggy crust puts a dent in this rating Polpette (meatballs) (3/5): order came with 2. They were paired with marinara sauce that I felt needed some salt. The meatballs themselves were alright but it lacked flavor for me. Not bad but I wouldn't get it again. Rigatoni Bolognese (4/5): exactly what it sounds like and a decent portion. Pasta was perfectly al dente and the perfect amount of sauce. I also felt this one lacked a little salt but was enjoyable nonetheless Overall, I've enjoyed their food in person and at home. Definitely go for the pizzas - so far I've been unimpressed with the other offerings. Perfect date night or gathering for groups of 2-6 although I did see they have a table for 8-10.

The food was SO good! The service was insanely fast. Loved our experience and the fact that our server sounded like he was from Italy. The decor of the restaurant was so cute and I loved the hooks for your personal belongings where you sat so you didn't feel too crowded in your own seat. The moped in the bar definitely got my attention.

Place is more like a 3.5. Pretty damn expensive for what it is. The flavors are definitely lighter here as opposed to typical American Italian cuisine. I guess that is authentic but I've never been to Italy so i can't speak to that. Pizzas come out piping hot. There's a mirror above the station like at Monteverde. Risotto could've used more lobster. Decent place but doubt I'd return

Nella is pretty good. I've always gotten good service. I enjoy the outdoor seating, so I typically go when the weather is decent. The food is good.

A yummy Italian spot with cool modern decor and floor to ceiling glass windows! Our table of 8 was seated immediately on a Monday lunch, and our servers were incredibly efficient! We ordered the calamari, burrata, and prosciutto e rucola salad to start. The salad was so refreshing with the perfect combination of bitterness to acidity! The burrata was so fresh and came with a deliciously sweet and tangy bruschetta. I also tried the ravioli al tartufo. I was sad that there were only four pieces of ravioli and felt that they could've been more generous! Still, the flavors were so creamy and yummy! You could definitely taste the rich truffle.

Normally I hate those kinds of large group dinners, but this was the perfect spot for it. The service was absolutely wonderful. I don't know how our server stayed so cool and calm with a group that size. We got a variety of things. EVERYTHING was amazing. If you have seen any of my other reviews, I always get a meatball when I'm at a place that has them. They almost never live up to my expectation. But this place has the new gold standard for a meatball. It was everything you want. It is fork tender, full of flavor, no chewy ground up bits. The pizzas were authentic and thin. With fabulous house made red sauce that wasn't too thick and overwhelming. The flavor was A+ The cocktails were so good! All made from scratch with love. The ambiance was cozy and comfortable. We had visited Florence last year, and one of the numerous wonderful moments of our trip to Italy was seeing "Il Porcellino" - the lucky bronze boar fountain that draws tourists from around the world. A copy of the boar stands proudly near the entrance of the restaurant, and though it is not as old as the original 1634 sculpture, it was a charming reminder of our amazing Italian holiday. Did I mention that the weekday Happy Hour (4-6PM) specials are quite good? The specials are served only at the bar area, so you might have to wait a few minutes for available seating. We started with some drinks, including two kinds of Negroni. The wild mushroom arancini (5 little balls for $6) were the smallest I've tried, but they were creamy and melt-in-your mouth delicious. The whipped ricotta and jam beautifully served on a strip of toasty focaccia was a unique taste sensation. Prime beef meatballs and short rib sliders on toasted ciabatta bread also hit the spot. Even though we were merely dining at the bar, we enjoyed the overall vibe of the restaurant. There are lots of photos on the walls, interesting lighting from the ceiling, nice serving dishes, and servers who seem to know who their regular diners are. We look forward to returning to Il Porcellino, to bask in that indescribable feeling of being in Italy again.

I would say it's a romantic setting, a bit dark in the restaurant. Us old folks needed the table lamp to read the menu better. I had read good things about the meatballs and bread as an appetizer so we shared that. Five meatballs, I got two. I thought they should have been hotter but I still enjoyed them. The wife wasn't impressed. Not sure about the younger folks. We shared a bottle of Classico Chianti, Montescondo which was very good. Boyfriend had the braised beef short rib. He seemed to enjoy it. Daughter had gnocchi. Wifey had Bucatini Amatriciana while I ate penne bolognese. Wifey and I shared an order of chicken Parmesan. So much of it the kids took home almost half. The wife had wanted to get the tagliatelle carbonara but with certain ingredients. They weren't sure if they could do it since the sauce was already made. She switched to the Bucatini but the server came back later with the carbonara for her to enjoy on the house. They are very nice here. Daughter was given a celebration baby gelato she enjoyed by the restaurant. We ordered two tiramisu deserts. They were #$@& Hugh. So to wrap up we had fantastic service, great meals and Hugh yummy deserts. Oh, the wine was very good. Thanks to the restaurant staff for this wonderful dining experience.
