Service is fast and friendly. Our waiter was nice and patient. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The diner is spacious and has good lighting. It's clean and the floors aren't sticky, a good thing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food is meh, below average. I have been here a few times and the food always sits heavy in my stomach no matter what I I order. The burger i ordered was flavorless even with the Swiss cheese. The cheese was saltless and plastic like but had a good stretch. The patty had no flavor. The fries were okay this time but are usually better. The onion rings were not good today. The batter was flavored but they weren't fresh. Today they were undercooked and some fries were cold/lukewarm in the inside. My brother got a salad and enjoyed it. The coleslaw is on the sweeter side and us crispy with a mayonaise base that is watery not thick. The food sits heavy as mentioned above. It's filling but not satisfying. I really enjoyed the pickle though. It was crunchy, savory and had good texture. Mera's Tip: get an extra pickle

[[HIGHLIGHT]]You can't go wrong with a good old diner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ventured here because it was late and we knew they were open. You need to have an idea of what you want because the menu is extensive. They also have an extensive drink menu and they have drinks to go too. I went with a classic item - bacon cheeseburger with crispy fries. It's extremely hard to mess that up so I knew my meal was going to be great and it was. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was a nice lively crowd with a mixture of all ages.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Place was clean and the wait staff and bus boys was moving fast to make sure all of the guest were ok.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The diner is a perfect place for late night dining and drinks.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Went for a birthday celebration on a Sunday . Please GO early It gets extremely crowded , the parking lot is free but small.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were seated pretty quickly as a party of 8 but there was long wait for 2 person parties . [[HIGHLIGHT]]Decor was an old diner feel , bet cozy .[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]The food was decent , portions are big but it took a long time to come out and was luke warm . The waiter had so many tables he barely checked in. I would probably return but on a weekday for dinner and see what kind of experience that brings . Happy eating

For the most part it's a regular Diner. They do have Alcoholic drinks on their menu and also milk shakes and other desserts. To eat I ordered the Oreo pancakes and bacon the pancakes were dry and the bacon tasted like they had cooked it earlier and just reheated it to serve. The bacon looked crispy but it wasn't. I also ordered the sampler #1 which consisted of onion rings, buffalo wings, tenders and mozzarella sticks ( this was decent) My friend got a plain waffle with scrambled eggs and sausage. He said his food was okay nothing to rave about. The waiter had stop by and ask if I wanted the pancakes to go home and I said no and she then asked was everything okay and I told her I didn't like them and how they were dry and not good. She said okay and walked away. The manager then came and asked what was wrong with the pancakes and I told him they was dry and lacked flavor. He then responded they do not make dry pancakes and I said okay. He then asked if I wanted another order of pancakes since it was on the bill already and I said not really, he insisted and I agree to an order of plain pancakes and still DRY! I just paid my bill and left.

I love this diner. One of the only places left close enough to NYC that has traditional values. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is huge and almost always has seating available with little to no wait.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food is fresh and the portions are huge, not to mention the taste. The staff is all very professional. The restaurant has bathrooms and parking too. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a great place to bring the family.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

the menu is outrageously filled to the brim which makes selecting a dish difficulty but what would you expect from a diner? staff is nice and there's plenty of parking. [[HIGHLIGHT]]it gives old school retro vibe ambiance indoors everyone is dresssed up.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] unfortunately i will not come back here. i got food poisoned here from the salad that comes with the gyro chicken platter. be careful! I must admit, the low rating on yelp for this place is misleading. I've visited New Rochelle Diner twice in the last 6 months and both times did not disappoint. They're a 24 hour diner and their menu selection is outrageous. I'm talking about breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks, and pretty much anything you can think of. There's free parking, an ATM in case you want to take out cash, and barely any wait time. I'm that person who asks for a bite if you're my family member or best friend, LOL. The burgers, tacos, pasta, quesadilla, breakfast platters, etc were all delicious. Let's not forget the carrot cake, cheesecake and German Chocolate Cake, oh myyy oh my. The staff is very kind too. They constantly walk by to make sure everything is good, which is a plus for me. The ambience is fun. I look forward to trying other plates in their menu whenever I go back to NY.

Belgian Waffle with Fresh Fruit and Bellini
    Haly H.

I came here with the hopes of enjoying some good diner food for an affordable price, and instead I left the restaurant feeling robbed for the mediocre quality food that I had! My order was simply a Belgian waffle with fresh fruit, which I specified no bananas only blueberries and strawberries. I also added a Bellini to my order just so I can enjoy the meal. To my surprise the waffle was priced at $14.79 and served with cheap syrup instead of maple syrup!!!! The waffle was something you can order at a local New York deli, nothing to write home about. The Bellini was $14.99 for a glass halfway full, which is not how they do it in Manhattan since they were charging Manhattan prices. Then when I received the bill I realized that I was charged an extra $2.99 for a few slices of strawberry... Surprise, Surprise! I would have rather traveled to Manhattan to enjoy a DELICIOUS Sunday brunch for $35!

Found my new go to dinner in New Rochelle! It's your typical dinner and you will leave full and possibly with leftovers too. I was excited to find out that the soup of the day for when I went was Seafood Bisque. A bowl of that alone was very filling and the French Dip wrap I had ordered ended up becoming leftovers. I was able to eat some of it and it was very satisfying. The bread was the right amount of crispiness and softness and the dip complemented the meat very well. I just had to get a dessert too and went with their tart. It was very interesting looking and sounding but personally I think that I would try a different dessert another time. It was a bit hard to cut through but that is just the nature of the tart I think. They had so many other desserts that I would like to try next time. Not to mention, the portions were huge! If you're looking for a nice breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, snack, then honestly this place will have it all!

Food is good, service a bit slow. Coffee cups frequently filled. Nice menu, offerings to satisfy most anyone. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Friendly atmosphere[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], nice sized portions.

My go-to's are ALWAYS the kale Caesar salad, truffle fries and the Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese is more of a cream sauce so it's not gooey like traditional Mac and cheese, but the flavor makes me come back to it every time I come. The truffle fries are always fried to perfection and pair so well with the Caesar salad (you can tell they make their own dressing). When I wanna switch it up I get the smashburger which is pretty good! I had my birthday dinner here last year so it was my family's first time coming here, so they all got smashburgers and were very pleased by the high quality of the meat and the flavor. I also like that they have mocktails! I don't drink so it's nice to have a mocktail option. I've only tried the Give Me A Minute mocktail which I'm very loyal to. It's a bit tart and sweet (the lavender syrup really brings it together), and I look forward to it each time I visit. Met the owner recently and he was very nice! Forgot to mention this in person but figure I'll put it here--if you add another plate option deal (happy hour?) that includes the Caesar salad, fries and a side of the Mac and cheese, me and my girlfriends would rather give you guys our money instead of venturing out to the city! Definitely consider coming here with some girlfriends after work for a nice drink and good eats. I've even come to dine on my own and enjoyed myself. One of my friends swears they have the best ice cream for dessert. Not sure if they still do trivia nights (never went but I'm hopeful! Seems like a fun time).

More of a creamy preparation, rather than cheesy or gooey. The wild mushroom pizza was tiny. The crust was a little chewy, but nice rich flavor. My husband enjoyed the lobster bucatini, but would've liked more pieces of lobster.

To start, we shared the crispy brussel sprouts Charleston style. These were delicious with the tangy sauce and large flakes of parmesan cheese. For my main, I had the brunch wrap. It comes with chips, but I swapped for fries for an additional charge. The wrap was a good size; I had half and saved the rest for leftovers. It was tasty, but not a ton of flavor. The tater tots were nice and crispy and I enjoyed the fresh tomatoes and avocado. They gave me a huge portion of crinkle cut fries, which also would've been great with a little more seasoning, but they were good when dipped in mayo. My husband got the shrimp and grits and appreciated the large portion size as well. I had a lemonade to drink. It was refreshing since it wasn't overly sweet. Service was great. I look forward to trying the rest of the menu!

Aesthetically, each table feels like a meal at a family dinner table; it's clear that they wanted that vibe to be translated, and it's done quite well. This is also supported by the service being very friendly and helpful in general. To eat, I had the French toast burger with sweet potato fries. Some others with me had various sides like regular fries and tater tots, and the same thing was present on them that tends not to be at most places: they were all perfectly salted/seasoned. It might seem immaterial, but it's a very good signal when something that simple--yet often neglected in favor of just using condiments to mask it--is executed well. If you're a burger place with fries that taste great without the need for a sauce or condiment, you're doing something right. The French toast burger was likewise fantastic, combining sweet and savory in a great way. To drink, we all got a communal pitcher of the only frozie they had available at the time: a kind of jungle juice vodka slushie. It, too, was great--worthy of multiple rounds. All in all, here's a place that I can't wait to give another visit.

On a beautiful afternoon, we decided to grab a table on the patio, and it was the perfect choice. The outdoor seating created a relaxed, inviting atmosphere that made it easy to settle in and enjoy brunch. The restaurant itself has a modern, stylish aesthetic that feels elevated without being pretentious. From the moment we sat down, the service was exceptional. Our server was attentive, welcoming, and struck that perfect balance of checking in without ever making us feel rushed. Now, let's talk about the food. The Tres Leches French Toast completely exceeded my expectations. I've had plenty of French toast over the years, but this one stood out. It was incredibly soft and fluffy with beautifully crisp edges, creating that perfect contrast in texture. The tres leches flavor was rich enough that it genuinely didn't need syrup--a rare compliment for French toast. Every bite was indulgent without feeling overly sweet. Paired with the perfectly cooked apple-smoked bacon and a bowl of fresh fruit, it was one of the better brunch plates I've had in quite some time. I also ordered the strawberry mimosa, which was bright, refreshing, and not overly sweet. It was the perfect companion to brunch. We couldn't leave without trying the Chicken Burrata Sandwich, and I'm so glad we did. The burrata was fresh and creamy, the chicken was juicy, and the spicy sauce added just enough heat to keep every bite interesting without overpowering the sandwich. Then there was the bun--soft, fresh, and sturdy enough to hold everything together. It tied the entire sandwich together beautifully. The fries deserve their own mention. Golden brown, perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside, and fluffy on the inside--exactly how fries should be. Between the beautiful setting, genuinely attentive service, and food that delivered across the board, 179 Bar & Grill earned every one of these five stars. It's the kind of place that's just as good for a casual brunch as it would be for bringing friends or celebrating a special occasion. I'll absolutely be back--and next time, I'm already planning to explore more of the menu.
