10/10! This place was amazing from start to finish! The service was outstanding, and the food was absolutely delicious. We started with the Finger Rolls, and they were hands down one of the best appetizers we've had. Definitely a must-order! For our entrées, we had the Spicy Basil Fried Rice, which definitely lived up to its name--it was really spicy but packed with incredible flavor. We also ordered the Yellow Curry (medium spice), and let's just say both my fiancée and I were coughing from the heat--but that's exactly what I asked for! The spice didn't take away from the flavor at all. It was rich, comforting, and so good. I also tried the Lychee Martini, and it was fantastic! Just a heads-up, they don't serve hard liquor--only sake and wine--but they still have some great drink options. The restaurant was very clean, located in a safe area, and had a welcoming atmosphere. We enjoyed everything we ordered and are already looking forward to coming back to try more dishes. Highly recommend!
We drove from SJ to Baypoint and wanted to pick up a few dishes for lunch. The decor was very cute. They opened at 11am. We Doordash to pick up and the food was ready in 25 mins. The portion size was decent and good customer service. we ordered the pad thai, Penang curry, fried rice, fat noodle? and fried chili fish. I forgot to take a picture of the food. My kids and family said the food tasted average and there was nothing that really stood out.
A friend and I was planing to meet up for lunch but since she had to go back to work afterwards, I decided to pick a restaurant that's closer to her office. After reviewing Yelp reviews, I settled on this place. We choose pad thai with fried chicken, lunch special combo (finger roll & Penang curry with chicken), mango sticky rice, and one Thai iced tea (for my friend). The food was just mediocre. The fried chicken was super dry as if it was previously cooked and then re-fried. The pad thai noodles was too chewy (needed to be cooked longer). Instead of a red color, Penang curry was yellowish-orange, while the chicken breast was also super dry. The sticky rice was hard and it came with a watered down coconut milk concoction ( you cannot taste a hint of coconut flavor). Meanwhile, the mango was perfectly sweet and ripe but the portions were small. The only thing we enjoyed was the finger roll. After seeing what it looked like, we now understand why it was called finger roll. It was literally the size of our finger. Our food arrived before the Thai tea so we had to remind them that we ordered a drink. For a place that only had 2 occupied tables, customer service was lacking. When we walked in, no one greeted us, even though they saw us standing in front of them when we arrived. Also, the cushion from the chair that I sat on was already deflated so when I sat down, I literally fell into a hole.
Not my first choice for thai food in the area but still satisfies the cravings Papaya salad: no shrimp, flavors are ok but needs garlic 7/10 Khao soi: not used to a style without some egg noodle in it , my door dash order also did not have lime. The dish needs it otherwise it is too sweet, chicken overcooked and dry bc using breast meet 6/10 Pad kee mao: not bad but ratio of veggies to noodles lacking, beef tough to chew , 7/10 Green curry: little on the salty side def need eat this one with rice 6.5/10 I would still eat here if I had to but not my first choice
Clean and great service. They were quick! Orange chicken was very good, crispy and sweet and pieces of orange peel were in there to heighten the flavor. Yummy rice. Wrapped shrimp also cooked well, crispy and delicious. Not a fan of their Thai tea's unique flavors, sorry I'm used to the traditional style. Thank you I'll be back!!!
We were traveling through tonight and decided to order carry out an our way home. With all the reviews and high stars we thought it may be good. But the drunken spicy beef noodles was really bad. Think the beef was old. The shrimp Penang curry was good but then I found the green bell pepper was never washed since the stickers were still on it. I hope I don't get sick.
Came here on a last minute reservation to celebrate a family birthday. They took our large group and we had the biggest table in the dining room. One star off because there was some miscommunication and unorganized way of taking orders. They did not assign any seat numbers so it became confusing when dishes would come out. The servers tried their best, food wasn't my favorite but it was decent. I believe many dishes were too bland for my liking and lacked flavor. I wish there was more spice level but maybe it's because we didn't order properly. My favorite dish was the red curry and crab fried rice. I loved the Mango sticky rice, great presentation although it's a small portion size.
Eeek the food was pretty terrible today. I ordered the yellow curry chicken lunch. The curry was the consistency of water. i'm not exaggerating...water. I also selected the side of crispy tofu with peanut sauce. There was no peanut sauce, and because although the tray had separate compartments, since the curry was so watery it souped over the tofu. Then I open the mango sticky rice, and even more water. like extreeeemely watered down coconut milk. the mango was sour too, so absolutely no sweetness. this all came out to $40 by the way.
We dropped in at 2ish on a Sunday afternoon. There was a constant of 2 to 3 tables of people coming in & out and 2, then 3 wait staff. Thai ice tea was cold and perfect. Roti trio had 3 sauces , peanut which was too thick, it would have been better thinned a bit, curry was good and so was the cucumber. Pad se-ew looked a bit odd, like dry but it tasted just fine. This is the first time we had the citrus chicken over rice. It's a fried chicken cutlet over fried rice with a citrus sauce on the side. All 3 components separately were good. It was just kind of weird to us but still good to try. Yellow curry had great flavor but kind of thin and needed just a tiny touch more of chicken, potatoes and carrots. The side of rice was fine. Service was fine. It was an average Thai place. It was not a super nice Thai restaurant with a cloth tablecloth. It was comfortable enough. If I was in the area, I would probably return.
Food is great here! We had the chicken satay, roti trio with yellow curry, and finger rolls between 3 people for a delicious lunch. We also had a garlic pad Thai but I unfortunately did not get a photo of it. Everything was delicious, I would definitely recommend trying anything with the yellow curry. Service was fast and super nice and the atmosphere in there is wonderfully causal. I would definitely come again. read more

New Thai Bistro might be one of my top 3 thai place in the bay. Their service is phenomenal and food is good! The restaurant itself has cute decorations! We ordered the appetizer sampler, Prik Khing Tilapia & crab fried rice. Didn't get to take a picture of the fish and crab fried rice because it just looked so good that we couldn't take a pic. App Sampler came with Crab wontons, tofu, veg roll, fried dumpling, coconut shrimp & reg shrimp roll -- the price is good for the amount of app included, the dipping sauces are also exceptional. Prik Khing Tilapia's sauce is perfect and they were generous with the crab on top of the crab fried rice. I will be back to try the other dishes! read more

I stopped by for lunch, quickly being seated at a table. The atmosphere here is casual but with some character, as there's a large painting above the kitchen area. I visited planning to try a lunch combo, but unfortunately during holiday weeks they said they don't offer lunch combos. No worries though, I will definitely be back another time to try it! For this visit, I opted for some Thai green curry and my husband got the peanut supreme dish. Both came out so quickly after we ordered and were steaming hot. The taste was perfect and we thoroughly enjoyed them. My green curry lasted me 2 meals too and it made great leftovers. :) the steamed rice was extra, we both ordered a side of steamed rice with our dishes and I think that it's a must for either dish. I'm not sure what the drink we got was but it was the free drink they give you if you check in on Yelp. I'm glad we have some good Thai options in the area and will definitely be back. read more
This spot is located in a strip mall, which you can easily overlook, but it has a loyal following. Inside, it's nice and homey, and they have some nice lunch specials for $12.90, which you can customize by choosing an entree and a side. They have yellow curry (mild), red curry (medium), and green curry (hot). Only issue is these spice levels are fixed. I wanted green curry but they can't make it milder than hot, so I went with the red curry. Also, the Thai ice tea I ordered never came, so I just let it go. What I ordered: + Red curry chicken with side of coconut shrimp (lunch special) - this also comes with rice and a side green salad. This was a great combo. The salad was refreshing and the red curry was really good. The coconut shrimp was really crispy and delicious. Overall, the food was really good. Taking off 1 star because no adjustment of spice level on their curries and forgetting my Thai ice tea. read more

I was craving for Thai food and I have seen all the reviews for this Thai restaurant and have been meaning to stop by. Last Saturday was the night right after a Costco run. Boy, I really wanted to order so much more for dinner too. I think that's going to have to be another trip to this restaurant again. Tom yum soup was flavorful with all the right sour from the tamarind and shrimps were plump too. You can't go wrong with Tom yum soup. For an extra kick add the dried chili flakes. The Pananang curry had the right amount of coconut flavor. The serving was a La carte. So we had enough to take home. The vegetables that come with the curry were cooked perfect and not soggy. It was yummy over rice. The fried chicken could had more flavor. I know it's fried chicken, but at least season it. The pad Thai underneath was good too. Went home with left overs because the servings were big enough for two people. I will definitely be back to try their papaya salad next. read more

A wonderful hidden gem! We randomly found this place after shopping at the Livermore outlets and it did not disappoint. Great flavors for all the dishes we tried. A bit on the spicier side, but very delicious. I'd definitely recommend if you're tired after shopping and want something more appetizing than the food court options at the Livermore outlet. read more
The restaurant located in a big plaza so plenty of parking, easy to find. They are understaff by the time we came in for the table of two. Need to wait for a while even no line to sit. The food is so-so with reasonable price for Thai dishes. We ordered Tom Kha and Drunken noodles. The soup was good but salty, if u want combination like chicken and shrimp will be +$3 extra. The noodles smells amazing but the taste is fine, nothing outstanding. I love Thai food in general so definitely will give it a chance to try more dishes there when I am in Livermore. Overall we liked the food. We ordered chicken satay, Tom yum soup, kao soi, crab fried rice and drunken noodle. Drunken noodle really stands out and the flavor is very good. Kao soi is on the salty side. The medium size of Tom yum soup is small and has 5 mushrooms and 3 shrimps which is bit on the pricy side for $10.95. Btw, the flies in the restaurant really bother us during our eating time. It's just annoying. I wish they could do better with the environment. read more

Came here on a weekday about an hour before they closed. They were about 35% full when we got there. I think the food was medicore. I thought it would taste better but wanted to try this place because all the review it had on yelp. Decided to order the Pad thai and Panang Curry with beef and rice. The pad thai was good but didnt come with a lime which i thought it would. I also ordered the Panang Curry which had green bell peppers and eggplant. This dish was pretty spicy. I personally thought it was ok but I defintely had other thai food that was way better and more flavorful. We also ordered a lychee thai tea which was super good! It a non creamy drink and would get again. Service was ok and could have been better. The Waitress we got was an older lady and she seemed like she was not having a good day and didnt check up on us. However a younger lady checked up on us at the end and she was super nice. Overall this place is a more average thai place and was ok in my opinion. read more
I can't tell if we visited New Thai Bistro on an off-day but I thought this spot was average at best. The restaurant was pretty empty for a weekend lunch. The flat noodles were overcooked/way too soft for my liking and the beef was pretty tough to chew. The peanut supreme is made from a simple peanut sauce -- and it's loaded mostly with vegetables. read more

MENU AND FOOD: New Thai Bistro serves a variety of Thai favorites and specials. SERVICE AND ATMOSPHERE: Service was attentive and quick. Their indoor decor is appropriate and appealing. They have a small patio area with some seating. PARKING: They have a shared lot with plenty of parking. IMPRESSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS: Their pad Thai here is the best! The noodles are fresh, well cooked/flavored, and come out saucy and piping hot. It comes with both shrimp and chicken by default. We've also had their roti trio appetizer and sweet chili fish in the past along with other noodle and curry dishes, all of which are delicious as well! I always ask for extra lime with my pad Thai, and they're always accommodating. read more

We ordered Drunken Noodles and Spicy Basil Fried-rice. Like the taste of both the items. Service was really good, hostess was really sweet and food portion sizes were good. If you like spicy please request for Thai hot. read more
Came here on a Thursday night and it wasn't crowded at all around 5 pm. They sat us down within 10 minutes and gave us our menus and water. The menu is extremely extensive so there are a lot of options. The restaurant itself is a decent size and there are many decorations all around. We end up going with a seafood noodle soup, the garlic noodles, eggplant with chicken, the roti, and panang curry. The seafood noodle soup had around 4 to 5 shrimp , noodles in a clear clean broth. The garlic noodles were probably my favorite with seafood and heavy garlic flavor. Eggplant was pretty typical and the roti was average. None of it came with rice so we had to get an extra side. We made sure to use our check-in offer to get a mango soda, which was really refreshing and probably my favorite part. Overall, it was a great experience with good food, but I thought the prices were a little steep. read more

Was expecting more based on the reviews..I ordered take out, call in and food was ready within 15 mins. Good portions for the price. Ordered the pad see ew with chicken and Tom ka soup with tofu and veggies. Pad see ew flavor was really good, egg tasted burnt and chicken was very dry. The Tom ka soup was ok, but the vegetables were raw and very crunchy, I had to re heat at home and wait for the veggies to cook. read more

Food was okay, not bad but not great. Service was terrible. It takes a few gestures and someone will finally come and take your order. Once they take your order. They won't show up again until it gets delivered. Not once was our water refilled nor did anyone ever come around. My family was the only customers in store. They had maybe 2 Togo orders. Not busy at all. It was slightly lit in the room and they had many fruit flies flying around. I had to get up and have them exchange my Thai tea since fruit flies flew inside it. (Again, I had to get up and ask, or else no one would have come and checked up on our table) We also had fruit fly go into the curry we ordered. I would have come back if the service was friendly. But they weren't. I'd take my busy elsewhere. read more
Service was great and fast! Our waitress took our drinks and order in a timely manner and checked in frequently. She even wanted to box our food up for us but since we were just chit chatting, we just boxed it up ourselves (stalling time ;)). I ordered the Tom Kha, it was very flavorful, you could really taste the coconut. They did not skimp on the chicken at all. I do wish there were mushrooms (I'm a mushroom lover)! Roti - always a favorite of mine every Thai place I go, but it's extra crispy and delish here! I love that they have 3 different sauces but I always opt for the curry! Tried the Cream Cheese Crab Ratoon for the first time and it was soooo good! I had to stop myself from eating too much.. gotta diet while not dieting ;) Also treated myself to the Thai Tea.. it comes in a cute mason jar and it was full of deliciousness! read more
Pictures will speak for themselves. The chicken fried rice looks good but is very bland. It lacks a lot of flavor. The 'citrus chicken salad' was far from citrus. The chicken itself has no seasoning and was very greasy. The dressing was more of a honey mustard, definitely not citrus. I wouldn't call it a salad with the very small amount of plain greens. Also they have on their menu English cucumber salad but they don't sell it. read more

One of the best dining experience- food, service, ambiance- everything Went for lunch. Ordered Roti Trio, Drunken Noodles, Sizzling grilled Salmon n Mango Mojito Drunken noodles was perfect with right amount of veggies n spices. Salmon was best, sauce complimented well with brown rice. Roti trio was crispy, nicely done n not too oily. Salt n sweet can be toned down for sauces though. Service was good. We were asked if everything is ok n if we liked food. Mojito was perfect though would prefer for dinners. Ambiance was cozy but they can clean those artificial flowers n hanging lights. Yes, will definitely go soon. read more

I was a bit disappointed with this place. This place isn't authentic at all. It definitely seems like it just walking in and I'm sure many of the employees are Thai too. But food was not it! It's definitely more Americanized and not for people wanting authentic Thai food. For starters we ordered some roti. It came with 3 sauces. A curry sauce, a peanut sauce and another sauce. The roti was covered in oil and seemed like it was deep deep fried. It was definitely over fried. The pad see ew was not good. It had none of the authentic Thai flavors and tasted just like rice noodles drenched in dark soy sauce. The noodles were over cooked and falling apart. The basil fried rice was okay. Definitely would not be back. But they do have good service! read more

Good choice for Thai food! My friend and I wanted to try a new place. What better than a restaurant carrying "New" in its name? The place was busy, but not fully booked. Service was on the slow side. It took a while until we were acknowledged and showed to our table. They were clearly understaffed. The people working there were giving their all, trying their best - very friendly. Management should schedule additional servers, though. The food was tasty. They offer an array of vegan options - fantastic! The place has a good size, sits a lot of people. It is decorated with authentic Thai pieces - always nice to see. They have some outdoor sitting. I liked the restaurant and would visit again. read more

5 stars every time! I've been coming to New Thai Bistro for so many years and realized I never wrote them a review! This is a cozy and comforting Thai restaurant. Once you enter it's a pretty big restaurant but the wooden detailing inside makes it cozy and a great place to catch up with family and friends. The service is great and the owner is very helpful. They're always checking in to make sure your visit is going well and the food tastes good. Over the years I've gotten many different menu items from here, ranging from chicken pad Thai (my fav), pineapple fried rice, different types of curries, etc. Pad Thai is always my go to dish, but the curries also have tons of flavor and are pretty large portions. Lastly, the Thai iced tea is always a must! This week when we visited we ordered chicken satay, chicken pad thai, and spicy mango curry with shrimp. It was a lot of food for two people! All the food was steaming hot and freshly cooked. The pad thai was very tasty as usual. My husbands mango curry was indeed pretty spicy but the curry packed tons of flavor and I couldn't help but eat off his plate for a bit. I will say the chicken satay was a little dry and over cooked this time, but the accompanying peanut sauce fixed the issue. All in all, New Thai Bistro is a must in this area. The service is great and gives the good vibes of a small family owned Thai restaurant. There's always something new on the menu to try and the fresh ingredients paired with affordable prices are unbeatable. Tip: if you want to enjoy good Thai food but eat at home, the restaurant seems to have a lot of to-go orders. They have shelves set up near the front of the restaurant, so if you order and pay ahead it's a simple pick up and go process when you come in to pickup your food! read more
New Thai has many things going for it, but there's one unfortunate aspect that we'll always remember, and made us giggle. Stickiness. The menus and especially the table, was sticky. Every time I lifted my frosted plastic wine glass off the table, it made a noise as I detached it. Please clean that up. Meanwhile, the food was very good, my favorite Thai in the Livermore-Pleasanton area so far. Rather than my standard green curry, I got a Summer Special Sizzling Panang Salmon, while the wife got her Pad See Ew. Indeed, the menu in the restaurant was much bigger than what we saw on the website, and there was much else I wanted to try. The wine prices were VERY cheap; the house Chard was $5! The whole dinner was under $50, with two entrees, one wine and a Thai iced tea. A few other notes: why were there chopsticks on some tables? That's not a Thai thing. The Wife's tofu was a little bland, and the broccoli needed some trimming, which is tricky since knives are not a thing in Thai restaurants. She ended up biting off the stems. We liked the overall look of the place, especially the picture of the interior of a Thai typewriter! (I'm into typewriters). And why is the check tray ribbed? Hard to sign my name there, and I didn't want to do it on the table, because it might not come off! read more

Awesome location within a plaza that offers axe throwing - will try this next time haha Reviews and closes a little later - 9pm - is what brought my brothers and me here We ordered __Pad Thai, Pineapple fried rice - pretty standard, not bad __Pad See ew - good but wish the noodles were cut a little smaller, the beef was alrite __Seafood Garlic noodles (mainly mussels) - this dish blew me away and was executed perfectly, no other way to describe it but really good and the 2nd best garlic noodles I've had, this will be my go-to next time I visit I'll definitely be coming back in the future and recommend to stop by if you're in the area read more
