This place gets a little extra for being open late and the good vibes. the food comes out hot as ordered. A little wait time, but the good portions make it up. I do have to say though, they can work on their rice; too dry for my chiken bowl. and for my noodles, they are not kidding about garlic, that is some powerful tasting plate it can scare off the vampires in my attic.:-) I wish it was a bit more seasoned and less garlicky, but hey the mushroom in it surprised me. They had forgotten to give me my drink, and when I reminded them about my drink the guy gave me a look and then looked to his coworker. On top of that they gave me the wrong drink! I think flavorful is mistaken for being very heavy and oily (not a bad thing if you're into that though). I have a garlic noodles with chicken breast. The noodles were soak in oil with a bit of garlic flakes. The better the noodles were topped with chicken Alfredo. The fattiness of the meal definitely filled me up to next day for breakfast. The dishes are a little bit small, so they are not really worth the price that are listed. This isnt a place that I would be driving 30 minutes to come eat a meal. We were looking for something to munch on after a day at Disneyland. This place popped up on yelp and we thought it was going to be the typical Pho Restaurant but it came out to be something better. We ordered the Bulgogi Garlic noodles, Crawfish Cajun Pasta and Cajun garlic fries. It was like $8 and $9 and $5 for the respective dishes so it's pretty affordable. The cooking took a while though, perhaps because there was a large order in front of us. All three, I really enjoyed. I'm from Covina and unfortunately the nearby places that have popcorn chicken have changed their chicken to white meat/chicken breast so the meat isn't as juicy. The taste isn't the same and they cut the portion by like 1/3 and raise the prices. Anyways, I go to OC once a month so it was really great seeing that this place is reasonable priced and the popcorn chicken is how I remember it. It is full of flavor, right amount, and juicy. I also ordered other items such as the garlic shrimp noodles and that was amazing too. The noodle is on the heavier side but most dishes like that are but that is just my own personal opinion. It was a bit too salty but again my own personal taste preference. All in all I would definitely go here. The food is good. The price is good. If you do choose to go order thru your phone ahead of time. Parking is small, crowded, and essentially none if there is too many dine in. I wouldn't think of dining in if I'm not working around there (assuming those that do dine in are getting lunch from work). The only reason for not dining in is because the place is small and again, limited parking. I will definitely go back to order the other items. Three days after my second negative review, I wanted to provide an update. So after I posted my review a few days ago, Alina - the store manager reached out to me by message. Asking about order number and details. I provided her the information I had and indicated this would be the second time this happened and it just seemed the staff onsite was not trained well enough to know the difference between the two different entrees since this is the second time it happened. She offered to remake the food for me but I would have to contact them prior to coming them so they can remake it. For some reason, I was not too trusting in this method since I did not want the chance for "something special" to happen to my food. I requested a giftcard so it could be more anonymous when I placed my order the next time around. No responses after that until I followed up again. When I emailed, I got a a pretty short response, about how they do not offer giftcards and to just call when I want to order for them to remake. Didn't seem the manager was trained on customer service too much either. You would think they would put more effort to fix the same problem they did twice but it just didn't seem they care too much about the customer experience. Unfortunate. read more

I came here by persistent nagging of one of my friends, who claimed that this place seemed to be amazing. Unfortunately, I was less than impressed by everything here. Maybe we ordered wrong, but honestly, the simple stuff should be harder to muck up. Chicken Salad: The chicken in the salad was very oily and it left an odd after taste in my mouth. Nothing like the clean, delicious chicken salads of other Vietnamese restaurants. It tasted as if they were trying to hard to lock in that fusion taste. Chicken sandwich w/ egg: First off, they put the eggs on only one half of the sandwich. That was very strange already. Next, there was 4-5 times more bread than filling, including the meat and veggies AND egg. If I wanted to pay $8 for bread.. I would buy an entire loaf. The flavor combination was less than great as well. Overall, I probably wouldn't come back. The flavor was lacking and the presentation was mediocre. This one of my bf's and my favorite place to go to! We always get the Cajun garlic fries with the bulgogi and fried egg, as well as the garlic noodles! I love the green sauce they give with it. The food is flavorful and not dry at all. Portions for these are big enough to share or to take home for leftovers. I've had their rice bowl before and even though it was good, I felt that it had way too much veggies and it felt that I was eating a salad instead. Also wish they had more outdoor seating (there's two or three tables) bc I always bring my dog with me wherever I go. I haven't had a problem with getting outdoor seating yet bc I get lucky and come at a non-busy time. But it's bound to happen in the future. This place is definitely worth a try and I highly recommend it -- you won't be disappointed! plan on trying their sandwiches and drinks next as I've heard those are really good too! read more

Found this place by accident. I did a yelp review and saw it had good reviews. I made my way in and the staff was polite friendly and helpful. I used pictures of what others had took on yelp to help decide my meal. The food was great and hot. Wish i had a bigger stomach to take it all down but took the leftovers togo. They're very consistent with the taste and I can say that because we ordered food from there 4 days in a row since we came to Anaheim for Disneyland and this was the perfect spot to get food from after a long day and a late night especially considering they're open late too! The cashiers were always so welcoming and nice and ensure to ask all the questions they need to perfect your meal. They never forgot napkins, plasticware, and all the sauces needed for an even more flavorful experience. Throughout the 4 days, we ordered the eggrolls - which were crispy every time, the popcorn chicken - my most favorite - which I asked for them to put on top of rice and veggies and they always did it perfectly with no hesitation, the garlic noodles with bulgolgi on top, the grilled pork rice plate, the garlic chicken breast sammie, and the house marinated chicken sammie, with the peach and lychee green tea every time. Stopped by for a quick bite and it was sooo good! We ordered bulgogi garlic noodles and pork mixed with chicken thigh garlic noodles. We also ordered some egg rolls and the peach lychee tea (which was perfectly balanced between the two flavors). Everything was fresh, delicious, and priced really well. Unlike some places that have unseasoned bulgogi the bulgogi here was seasoned perfectly and came with onions. They gave me a side of their special house "Green Sauce" and it was too good i poured it all over my noodles and mixed it in. If that isn't the way to do it, I hope people start trying it that way. They have a simple menu, consisting of a few noodle dishes, Banh Mi specialties, and a few side items like garlic or Cajun fries, chicken, and egg rolls. Cute small place located by main place mall. Walked in and wasn't too busy yet for only being 11:30. Ordered four things to share since we had ice cream before coming here. Had the popcorn chicken, garlic fries, rice bowl with kalbi meat and garlic noodles with grilled pork. All of the dishes were really good. The fries were seasoned nicely and had a good amount of garlic on them. The popcorn chicken was nicely fried and was juicy but felt like they didn't get you enough. The rice bowl was good but felt like the meat was kind of salty. The garlic noodles were delicious and thought the meat was a little salty here as well but could still enjoy it. This was our first visit to Nguyen's Kitchen after finding them on Yelp while looking for a late night dinner. Parking was brightly lit and felt secure for late night diners. The atmosphere was contemporary, clean and welcoming. Although there is no table service, the staff at the counter are very friendly and helpful. i was very excited to find a modern twist on Vietnamese-American fusion. Coming from a long distance, I wanted to make the most of our foodie adventure and wanted to try as many things as possible. We ordered a grilled pork sandwich, a bulgogi sandwich, NK Sliders, Garlic Fries and Garlic Noodles with grilled chicken. I found that the ingredients used here are very fresh and good quality but found some minor flaws in execution that would otherwise earn them a perfect 5 stars in my book. The NK Slider were tasty and seasoned well with the exception of the burger patty. It was over cooked and dried out. The bun was also a bit tough, old and dry. The shoe string fries were also over cooked. Crispy on the outside but no fluffy potato goodness on the inside. A bit crumbly and dry in and out. The grilled pork bahn mi was delicious. We ordered with a fried egg on top. The egg was a nice addition to the sammy but part of the egg whites was still raw. The bulgogi bahn mi was cooked properly except it was under seasoned. Lastly the Garlic Noodles with grilled chicken was prepared nicely. Chicken was perfectly grilled/ My only complaint is that the chicken was seasoned with Chinese Five Spice which was completely unexpected to me. Five Spice powder is not a favorite of mine and nothing on the menu indicated it was going to be a "spiced" grilled chicken. I guess along with late nights comes some interesting people. As hard as we tried to ignore it, there was a 50+ year old virgin man screaming profanity at his elderly parents for not appreciating how special his job is with Long Beach PD. Scary stuff. Makes me glad that nut call doesn't serve and protect my city Overall it was a good experience. The freshness of the ingredients and the unique menu selections more than made up for the minor execution flaws. Ordered the chicken bowl for the boys, chicken wings to share, Steak Ban Mi and Garlic Noodles with chicken, garlic fries and a milk tea. After dropping about $45 on the above mentioned items, the guy who took our order tells us that they ran out of rice... Say whaaaat? How does an Asian restaurant run out of white rice? (Hubby and I chuckled and accepted the fact) We simply said okayyyyyy. Strange, but okay... so we ordered egg rolls to fill the void. All in all the food was OK. Nothing so good that I would say I wanna go back just for that! I enjoyed the freshness of the ban mi bread. The sauce on the wings was spicy and on point. You know you're at a Viet-fusion restaurant when you see garlic noodles on the menu. Banh mi advertised as sandwiches. Com tam masquerading as rice bowls. It's Vietnamese food repackaged in an American-friendly wrapper. Having tried my fair share of garlic noodles over the years, I wanted to put Nguyen's Kitchen up to the test because of their rave Yelp reviews. After trying it, I think their food is pretty average. First off. Parking is a pain. They have a small lot. If you miss it the first time, you're going to have to drive around the main street to find it again. Not a big deal if you're going late at night (I went at midnight). But during the daytime, I can see this as an inconvenience. Garlic Noodles with Bulgogi Steak (3/5): They provide a green sauce similar to Peruvian aji verde and I find the sauce to be too sweet. It doesn't have enough cilantro and needs some more kick. The meat is already marinaded pretty sweetly, so the green sauce is overkill. The noodles are cooked fine but are overall too greasy. Garlic noodles aren't exactly the healthiest thing to eat, but drenched in oil is not the way to go. The bulgogi steak is cooked well though. They give you a decent amount. Overall: I can see the concept they're trying to push. It's Vietnamese-Asian food meets fast-casual dining for the lunchtime and late-night crowd. It feels like one of those hipster eateries you'd find at the Anaheim Packing District. Sure, it's affordable. But the food itself is okay and what I would be craving if I was looking for some drunchies, not a proper meal. read more

They have sandwiches, noodles, pasta, salads, rice bowls, drinks and more. Pretty much something for everyone. I had their noodles and shared the sandwich with my friend. Both items were very delicios. Im a weak sauce so the sandwich was a little spicy for me because it comes with their spicy green sauce. So, if you are like me, request them not to put the green sauce inside the sandwich. Overall, very delicios and friendly service. I frequently use Postmates to order food from here to my school. Their viet iced coffee is amazing. And I usually ask for light ice. But today, my two orders of coffee came less than half full. Attached, was a note on the receipt claiming that the coffee is pre-portioned so light ice meant it was less full. How ridiculous! The coffee content should be more than the ice content. I am seriously disappointed and upset that I'm paying $4 for less than half a cup of iced coffee. Really annoyed. My boyfriend DEVOURED everything here, I am not an adventurous eater, so I was not so happy about it. He ordered a popcorn chicken and a pork bowl, made me feed him the popcorn chicken on the way home and said "this is worth the 5 dollars" so he was pretty impressed. When we got him he ate his pork bowl in about 10 mins. I had the garlic noodles, which I did not like, but he loved them the next day. I come here all the time, and the food is always on point, but I ordered takeout today and it was disappointing. The girl on the phone told us 15 mins. We arrived and paid for our order and she said it was almost done. Turns out it wasn't even made yet. We sat and watched everyone around us get their food and wondered why we called in and got our food after everyone else. What's the point of us calling in our order then? Not only that but everyone who ordered food after us got their food and we're still waiting. We called in at 2:40 and it is now 3:30 and we still don't have our order. To add to insult the people that ordered before we paid had almost the same exact order as us, and got their food wayyyyy before ours were even made. Update: Finally got our food turns out both of our sandwiches were sitting on the counter for at least half and hour before our other orders were even made.
