Came here since it was so close to where I live and got recommended the beef and lamb gyro! Good: - The beef and lamb gyro was great indeed - perfect portion size, had a ton of stuff inside it and the texture was crunchy and savory - [[HIGHLIGHT]]I liked how quick the service was, and it was easy to find seating inside[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Bad: - [[HIGHLIGHT]]The music was super loud here and it was more casual of a place[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall this was a quick pit stop and would come again for a gyro craving

Conveniently placed Nick the Greek, I've been here quite a few times. Service is great & the workers are super friendly! Always a pleasure stopping by for some quick eats.

Healthy and fresh ingredient bowl. I got the Mediterranean Bowl with Steak. The sauce was flavorful and the crunchy chickpeas were great. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Convenient location to grab food and then hang out at the Embarcadero for views.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food made pretty quick

Ordered here several times now due to convenience, however each time their portions seem to have reduced. This recent time we ordered chicken souvlaki gyro plate and swapped rice with salad. The chicken was dry, burnt, as if sitting out for a while. Small portions, mostly lettuce.

TL;DR I had a very long wait for food I ordered in the app. It was supposed to be ready at 12:23 pm. I finally walked out 20 minutes later with a substitute meal. The full story: I had eaten at a couple of Bay Area Nick The Greek locations before, but never this one. I planned ahead and ordered through the app, which I thought would save me some time during the lunch rush. Sadly, it did not. They were probably understaffed, but what I (and other customers that day) experienced was absurd. Those who walked in and wanted to place orders were told when they arrived at the register that it was -- seemingly temporarily -- cash only. When I checked in for the second time -- a solid 15 minutes after my order was supposed to be ready at 12:23 pm, I was told there was no chicken. I was asked if I wanted to swap it for another protein. I asked how long it would be for the chicken to be ready, and I was told it would be another 10 minutes -- nearly 12:50 pm. I was hesitant to believe that estimate, and I also had a meeting starting at 1:00 pm, so I could not risk it. I reluctantly chose a different meat and was handed my order a moment later. I checked it as soon as I stepped outside, realized I had been given the wrong order, and walked right back in to request the correct one. At no point did anyone try to make it up to me (or any customer as far as I could tell) with a baklava on the house or a voucher for a discount next time. I had tipped a couple bucks in advance -- considering the whole experience, I regretted not waiting until afterwards. P.S. If I had known the tzatziki sauce container was going to be 1/3 full, I'd have requested three of them!

Beef/Lamb Gyro Pita

I've been to other Nick the Greek locations, and they've always been great. But this location was kinda meh. I ordered a lamb/beef gyro, and it was waaaay too oniony. That's all I could taste. There are too many great spots in SF for lunch, so not sure I'll be back. But if I do come back, whatever I order will be without onions!

Food was definetely 5/5 - absolutely fantastic! Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. We ordered the CHICKEN SHISH TAWOOK PLATE and GRILLED HANGER STEAK. The portions are big, and there is a huge variety of sides and spices to pair with your dishes. The service was 3/5. Unfortunately, not a single employee had a smile on their face, and it didn't feel very welcoming. It also took a while for our food to arrive, but the restaurant was pretty full, so that was understandable. Beit Rima feels cozy and warm. The kebabs were made with chicken breast, but very tender and moist, and the side of hummus was fresh, creamy and delicious. We also tried the sangria which was great- not too sweet and decently strong (not watered down bad wine). For dessert, the lemon cake was tasty but odd that dried cranberries were sprinkled into the whipped cream. I appreciated the variety offered on the menu- not just typical Greek food you find everywhere else that touts "Mediterranean food". The service was super nice and efficient, and I like that it has been family owned and run (sadly an increasingly rare San Francisco characteristic these days)- you can tell the difference in the quality and thought put into the experience.

There was complimentary bread which was insanely good and fluffy and warm plus tahini and an onion tomato sauce I think along with radishes and olives. We are not olive ppl sadly but I tried one and it was pretty okay. The service was great and all the servers were super attentive and accommodating. The Stuffed falafel was so good and huge 1 is enough for 2 people. The mosabaha was very refreshing and so good. The meat combo was good overall and everything was very herbally spiced, I wasn't impressed by the lamb tho but the kebab, hummus, and chicken were great! I haven't had Mousakhan before so not sure how it should taste but to me it was sweet and savory with really well cooked chicken. I honestly felt pretty healthy overall cause I was eating hella veggies and everything tasted so fresh. The kunafa was good we got it crispy and was yummy imo but was a lil oily (I think this is normal tho). Arab food isn't really spicy but it is spiced and very herbal which I felt in the food here, I appreciate that chili sauce is provided for the spice lovers. Overall, would highly recommend. It was about $100ish for everything and they recently increased their prices but tbh the portion sizes are huge and I feel like it is so worth it we had hella leftovers. When we arrived at around 7:30 pm, there were tables available. It's a comfortable cafe-like restaurant with mural paintings on the wall. Service was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the food wasn't as good as the ambiance and waitstaff. ***OUR PICKS*** BEEF SHAWERMA ENTREE ~ the beef was overly salted, saffron rice was ok, hummus was really thick, like peanut butter. My guy ordered this and thought it was average. 3/5 LAMB SHISH KEBAB WRAP ~ this was my dish. I ate one half of the wrap and it only held two cubes of lamb meat. The lettuce and tomatoes made the wrap bland. The meat was seasoned, but everything was plain, so it needed more seasoning. Honestly, this was missing flavor! I'll have to add something to it when I eat the rest of this wrap at home. 2.5/5 HALF ROASTED CHICKEN AND RICE ~ Our friend ordered this dish. It needed more sumac. This tasted like plain roasted chicken. Maybe it needs more seasoning while marinating. It wasn't dry, so that's a relief. Rice was ok and it wasn't dry or soggy. 3.5 We've been spoiled and have had better food in San Francisco and the Bay Area. Nothing stood out for any of us. Prices are a bit high for what you get. Sadly, probably won't be back.

I'm sure there are other Persian cafés and restaurants as good as Lavash. I hardly stop to think about what made Lavash interesting. A clear teapot filled with saffron tea with rock candy on a stick; seen how they dip it in after pouring the tea. Interesting orange color indeed! A plate of zucchini, grape tomatoes, Moroccan mint leaves, and a pair of Bulgarian cheese; complimentary for my first visit here. Persian noodle soup, filled with beans, chickpeas, and lentils; loved the floral notes in every spoonful. Main course, veggie kabob on a bed of basmati rice drenched in saffron and spices, along with some onions and mushrooms, and of course, a large Lavash bread at the bottom to fill the whole plate. The best part is to completely sandwich wrap after I marginalized the contents on the plate. Ahhh! Satisfying to the last bite of herbs and spices.
