Screw Prozac, Paxil, and the rest -- give me one Nick's veggie breakfast burrito per day, throw in some Lipitor, and I'd become an extremely productive member of society. I wake up from a friend's couch - 830 am: 30 minutes to grab a burrito from Nick's and move my car before the parking nazis give me a ticket. Chunks of last night's events have been erased from memory, but at least I still have my essentials on me - Keys, Wallet, Phone.. My salvation, a 911 with extra cheese is only 2 streets over, but walking in a straight line is proving more difficult than usual this morning. Apparently the Red Wine, White Wine, Sangria, Champagne, and Beer are still in my system. I passed one of the neighbors, who was watering their driveway (who does this...and on a Sunday morning!). Saw them on KTLA news a while back and recently went with my husband on our day off! It was delish! Got their breakfast burrito, so yummy! Cash only does blow but not a deal breaker for me. The girlfriend, J, needed a ride to LAX this morning. We originally planned to wake up early, go out for a leisurely breakfast and still have enough time to get her to the airport early. Well she overslept and breakfast was out. J can't fly without eating so she was a little worried that the cross country flight would seem even longer with a grumbling tummy. We needed some place quick and that can be eaten in the car that wasn't fast food. Nick's to the rescue! I've been going to Nick's for years am not even sure if they serve anything besides breakfast burritos. The guy in front of me ordered a breakfast burrito and the three people that came in while I was waiting for my food also ordered breakfast burritos. It's easy to understand why this is the most popular item at Nick's. The burrito is a perfect balance of eggs, potatoes, chorizo, bacon and cheese. J took one bite and proclaimed it a "very good burrito". That's a good sign because J is as picky as they come. Hard work does pay off, and i'm not talking about me eating the amazing breakfast burrito here, but the workers here constantly taking orders and rolling out food like a beast. We debated between this place and George's in Fullerton because we heard of their great breakfast burritos, but due to timing, we ended up at Nick's. You might have a hard time parking, but there's plenty of them in the neighborhoods, just be respectful. I got their "breakfast burrito" which comes with cheese, eggs, potatos(don't know if it's fries), and chorizo...I love chorizo. And I also requested that my tortialla get toasted, so it'd be nice and warm, like a blanket for my burrito. We waited about 5 minutes and got our burritos, and when we received them I noticed they weren't the biggest by their circumference but I was to be satisfied later on. FYI I went to college in San Diego, so I've had some of the best and the most generous portions in a burrito before. First bite..."omg, this is good" and the second then the third. I stopped to add salsa. Took a bite, then never put salsa back on again because I wanted to just eat the burrito alone cuz it was so good. It was very consistent and all the ingredients worked well together. Sometimes I do'nt like it when it's too cheesy or too eggy, but it was a perfect concoction of all those ingredients. Nick's is a treasured gem in our hood, my absolute FAVORITE breakfast burrito. Nick's and his boys are always a joy, welcoming every guest and providing excellent service and good food. This is a humble little deli, not highly designed and fully self service, but it's character comes within the personalities and the comfort of it being a neighborhood eatery. Although there are many other sandwich or burrito items on their hand written menu, I've always just gone with their signature breakfast burrito. This awesome burrito is not one of those where they scoop a little potato on this side and the food on top, and end up with unbalanced flavor bites. The contents are all scrambled so in each bite you get a taste of everything. Very consistent, each time I crave one, I get it just the way I remembered. Nicks has a great reputation for its breakfast burritos and it's most certainly deserved. Saturdays and sundays in the morning it's almost certain to be packed to the gills with a line of people going out the front, waiting for their delicious breakfasty logs. They're nice and cheap and they are absolutely not for anyone looking to keep off a few pounds. They don't cut any corners in their quest for taste, which means fried potatoes and eggs and all the other goodies you'd expect in a breakfast burritos. I first heard about Nick ' s in the late 80's when I 1st ate there. I worked at McDonnell Douglas Aircraft which is no more. I heard about this place from coworkers who recommended the "breakfast burrito". Their breakfast burrito is to die for. Beware as if you eat the whole thing you may skip dinner. The deli part is good as well. As a displaced Chicago person and sing they carry Vienna Beef products is awesome. The corned beef and swiss is really good. It must say something about the deli as many of the kitchen help are the same when I first visited the place. Delicious. Only negative is finding parking. read more

Utterly confused. Yelp reviews can be difficult to judge because not everyone orders the same meal, has the same service, etc. but every review about Nick's seems to suggest they have the best breakfast burrito. Breakfast burritos. That's all I ever need and that's all I ever want. Get it hot with their red sauce. When I come with my girl friends, we get our food brought out to us and we "can pay when you're done." When I come with my guy friends, well... it's just standard service. The difference is funny because it's a pay-when-you-get-your-food-type establishment, cash-only, and small. It's all about the breakfast burrito! This place is an amazing little dive in an awesome beach community. They serve breakfast and lunch, but it's the breakfast burritos that they're known for. The food: BREAKFAST BURRITO hands down!! The burrito is a good size, stuffed with chorizo, eggs, crispy potatoes, cheese and man it's tasty. You can order it mild, medium or hot. I always go for hot and ask for an additional side of red salsa that I can dip the burrito as I chow down. Believe it or not, the VEGGIE BREAKFAST BURRITO is also incredible. It's virtually the same as above, but minus the chorizo. It is still filled with scrambled eggs and cheese, so it's definitely not vegan and for the strict vegetarians who classify eggs as meat.... but I'll tell you... from a meat lover and carnivore perspective, this burrito is one I order quite regularly. Oh man!! Nick's Deli also serves sandwiches. They may seem somewhat average and commonplace, but these sandwiches are very good! I particularly like the California Turkey club with bacon and avocado, but most every sandwich I've had (and my wife) is good. If you're ever in the area hanging out by the beach, and you're looking for a nice, grubby breakfast, you gotta swing by and tackle the breakfast burrito. I've never needed to eat something like I've needed a Nick's Deli breakfast burrito. Hands down the best breakfast burrito I've ever eaten. It's got the right amount of eggs:chorizo ratio, has bacon, the potatoes are both mushy and crispy, you get bacon and cheddar in every bite, it's glorious and pleases everyone! This place was ok. I came here with some friends. My burrito was ok. I;m not a fan of beans and I didnt know the carne asada came with rice and beans- when I asked the cashier he told me to look at the board.... wow.. ok? If i saw it on there I wouln'd be asking. And the board says "add rice and beans for $ more".. so i would ASSUME they didn't have any. Once upon a time I had the perfect job with offices on Main Street in Seal Beach...alas is wasn't meant to last and the comapny went out of business...but I remember having Nicks burritos and thinking WOW..these here burritos are great... So last week the painters we hired to finish our kitchen showed up early..yeah I know I should be yelping them..So we couldn't do our family breakfast at home...I wanted something quick but not Fast food so I drove the 10 minutes to Main St. with my daughter and stood in a short line...ordered me the Machaca and egg burrito and her the "Breakfast" Burro (made ithe Chorizo)..mine medium her's mild. Now yu have to picturee this is a tiny restaurant with enough seats for maybe 30 people and as it is main St. you will find a couple of Dog people at the out door tables. The kichen is even smaller yet they manage to pack about 80 (okay maybe 8) egg magicians into this tiny space where not one inch of space is wasted..the pans are spinning the tortillas flying and the eggs tossing...all the while the owner Nick is saying HI to all the regulars and taking orders.. The coffee was bland...the drinks are serve yourself....but the freakin Breakfast Burros are freakin five star good. Give this place a try you will not be disapointed. read more

I took the yelper's advice and got myself a breakfast burrito, chorizo and eggs. Ordered the mild by a coworker's suggestion and added some avocados. The chorizo wasn't overbearing and the potatoes were thick and fluffy. It was definitely a satisfying burrito and it didn't leave me feeling too heavy like with breakfasts from the fast food places. At $4.99 its definitely worth the money. The deli definitely had an east coast feel to it, the high counter top seating facing the window. The black and white floor and the wall lights pointed towards the ceiling. There's also the patio dining area that faces the nursery next door. The breakfast burritos here are so freaking yummy. The chorizo here is not greasy (or it is totally absorbed by the eggs and potatoes surrounding it...which is probably what makes it taste so good!). Maybe we should marinate everything in chorizo grease? Ah the world would be a happier, albeit heavier, place. Yes, it's a little hole-in-the-wall, but it is an institution in the OC that you must try at least once. And I've always seen the owner there. To me, that's important. And Main St in Seal Beach is so quaint. Not like crazy HB or Newport with their tourists and peeps trying hard to impress. Back when I thought I was too school for school, my friends and I would ditch first and second period of high school and head over to Nick's. Nick's is a Seal Beach institution--a breakfast burrito mecca. Their burritos were (partly) responsible for our teenage delinquency. We would return to school fat and happy and ready to start the day...and then we would ditch 5th period and go to the liquor store known to sell booze and cigarettes to minors. And even though there's a huge bronze statue of a SEA LION at the pier, Seal Beach has its own distinct flavor worth checking out. Don't bother eating AT Nick's, they're are only a few places to sit. Instead, take your burritos down Main St. to the pier and enjoy them right where the Pacific Ocean meets North America. Soak that in. Saturday and Sunday mornings this place is slammed. Nothing ameliorates a hangover like potatoes saturated with butter, eggs covered in cheese, and chorizo. When you wrap it all in a tortilla and serve it with sauce squirted out of a squeeze bottle, you make a seriously addictive substance. I have frequented this place for at least 15 years and have only once had someone in my party order something besides the breakfast burrito. I was so embarrassed. You know who you are, Jessica! They used to stop serving them at 11am, then they made it 11:30, then noon, then 12:30, then 1pm. The public needs them. Unfortunately, Nick's closes. If they served them 24 hours I bet sales would soar again starting around 11pm and go strong until 2:30am. I digress, I'm only dreaming. They keep their prices brick low - so tip the crew. Went here for father's day breakfast after a hike at the Wetlands. SO DELICIOUS!!! Make sure you plan on taking your time because the wait is normally about 15-20 minutes. Wow, everyone on here seems to LOVE Nick's breakfast burritos! I had the Carne Asada with sour cream and avocado (both for which they charge extra), so I can't really comment on their breakfast ones, but what I did have was pretty good. The burrito itself was large and very flavorful, and will definitely fill you up if you finish the entire thing yourself. One thing I didn't really care for was the salsa that comes with the burrito. Not because it wasn't tasty, but because personally, I prefer a chunkier salsa, and this was more of a sauce. As an FYI: they tend to have lines, esp. on weekends, though they do move quickly. Also, there isn't a huge amount of seating, whether in the the deli itself or the little alcove off to the side. read more

I'm sure it's me, but I just think the burrito was okay. Here's the thing folks... I don't eat chorizo, never have, never will. It's disgusting to me and I'll only do the soy stuff. So, getting the breakfast burrito without it ends up making it dull, or at least it was to me. It would have been good with some sour cream maybe. But, I gotta tell ya, I've only been once and was so overwhelmed with how chaotic and busy and full of people the place was that I'm sure I overlooked MY potential great breakfast burrito. Breakfast Burrito ... That's what this place is famous for. My friend Brian YELP'ed this place and took me here, but neglected to tell me about the famous burrito until we had our food. He had the burrito, and I opted for the Reuben(it's a deli for heaven's sake!) My Reuben was fantastic, his burrito looked yummy. I noticed about 80% of the clientele had the burrito. Guess what I'll try next time. The place has 30 year old charm, and remodeling would make it too sterile. About 8 tables, plus a bunch of bar stools at the window, and you rub elbows with your neighbors. The staff was friendly and super efficient. The menu was huge and written with a sharpie on paper above the counter. It must change frequently. Even though you order and pick up your food at the counter, they have you pay when you leave? I found this a little strange, and would prefer to pay in advance. I could just see myself accidentally leaving after a wonderful meal, and forgetting to pay. How embarrassing if they chased me down the Seal Beach Pier! (A highly recommended activity after your meal). I love this area of Seal Beach almost as much as Belmont Shore, but well worth the trip out of my own neighborhood. A great way to enjoy a weekend snack and an ocean walk! read more

I did love me a chorizo breakfast burrito. It actually wasn't greasy, which was kind of odd and surprising, yet delightful. I was impressed. The cheesy spicy burrito hit the spot. BF opted for a different burrito and loved it! The line while there was out the door which is USUALLY a pretty good sign. The portion was great for me. I ordered a breakfast plate. The eggs were great, a lot more bacon than I expected -my boyfriend liked that- toast was thick and buttered ...mmmm....I was so hungry and this was a late breakfast but it hit the spot for me! So, my morning travels (work, bleh) brings me to Leisure World Seal Beach. After successfully navigating my way in and out of Seizure World without any incident a feel a decent breakfast is deserved! Nick's Deli, Highly Acclaimed Breakfast Burrito? YES. I gotta be on my way to Lakewood soon so something portable and affordable is in order. OH, affordable? 5 bucks? GEEEZ! Worth it though. Love the efficient service here. No line at 10AM so was on the road in 5 minutes. Opening the wrapper and seeing the Orange color trying to bleed through the tortilla is like a waring to your digestive system that there is a HIGH Risk of Attack. It's 2:30PM now and actually the thing has treated me pretty good. Was real tasty. Nick's Deli? If I lived around here I'd probably find an excuse to be here like 3-4 times a week.
