lamb merguez sausage sandwich, beverly burger
    Bethany L.

great service and in a nice quiet spot in the 5th story of the beverly mall. overlooking a view of LA! The food was ok, nothing special- got the lamb merguez sausage sandwich (19$) , small portion for the price. the le beverly burger (20$) was better but also not worth 20$ without fries included. LA prices but not nearly the best in LA- you can see the single lettuce and tiny sausage portion in the sandwich.

We went shopping at Beverly Center Mall on Sunday and had lunch at Nicolas Eatery, since it's located inside the mall. The restaurant is on Level 6, near Bloomingdale's Court, and offers a great view of Hollywood and DTLA. We tried the Caesar Salad with added Salmon ($16 + $14), which was great! I loved the salmon--it wasn't salty at all and was very tasty. The Tuna Burger with added Fries ($17 + $5) was also great; the tuna was fresh, and the fries were delicious. The Thuy's Pho with Beef ($24) was okay for me, as the broth was a bit too salty for my taste. The Crème Brûlée ($12) was amazing! We absolutely loved it--it was so good and a must-try! The service was great, and our server was really friendly! We will definitely recommend Nicolas Eatery to our friends and will visit again to try more dishes and desserts!

Right off the escalator as you enter the 6th floor of the Beverly Center on the Bloomingdale's side this little cafe has a beautiful view facing east. Food is pretty good - we had the their hamburger with fries and their crispy chicken sandwich. Their menu is simple, easy for a quick bite. Service was friendly and casual making the whole experience a nice pleasant surprise.

Located on the sixth floor at the Beverly center with amazing service and really great lighting and views of LA. Started off with the bread and butter for $6 which was salty, warm, and delicious. The steak frites was good but they did put this red wine sauce on top which I wish it was on the side. Amazing service so warm, welcoming and friendly.

Came in after the Apple Store. This place is in the 6th floor near Bloomingdale's. Great view from the window side . Clear eve can see all the way to downtown. Literally no one else here . I bet they do better at lunch on sat and Sunday. 5 pm on a Friday, not so much. Ordered the steak frites , with a side salad . Medium rare. For the price point, Iwas anticipating something kinda good. Well, I guess it was fine. I do like medium rare, but the meat was a little bit too rare for even me. however, I ate it all.. not sold on the wine sauce, but I just like au poivre too much. side salad was decent. It had kind of a funny little horseradish flavor in the dressing. Fries were on point. It was a good meal. Service was friendly.

    Seafood Pasta

Today I had the seafood pasta and there were so many things wrong with it. First, the portion was tiny! If a seafood pasta is going to cost $29, it needs to be w larger. There was an overcooked sliver of salmon laid on top of salty pesto noodles and three overcooked shrimp. The shrimp was so overbook the burnt skin was inedible. I hoped that dessert would make up for the meal, but all they had was a cookie and chocolate croissant, which was over microwaved so the chocolate was overcooked. The service was friendly. The ambiance was chill. The food needs work.

I stumbled upon this place as I was shopping at the mall. It is located inside the Beverly Center Mall. I just have to give it the best review. Their service, our waiter took care of us so well and answered all of our questions. The food was fantastic. We tried the Ceasar Salad, and all I could say is that its one of the best ones I have ever had. Also, the Steak frites. The sauce and the tenderness were A+. The location in the mall is really great, its nestled in one of the best corners of the mall and it works perfectly when you need a break and some good moments.

Outstanding service! Very pleasant seating area with a great view. Got chicken salad sandwich. It was tasty!

Beautiful restaurant on the top floor of the Beverly Center. Service was great, and her food was made to order quickly. We really enjoyed the salmon as well as the eye, not a huge fan of the chicken as it was dark meat. The salads and fries here are tasty as well and they have some nice cocktails on their menu. Great views, and not too busy, great dining, optional shopping at the mall!

Phenomenal French Onion soup. I tried both white wines by the glass and they were both beautiful examples of French wine, the only Chardonnay I can drink! Service was warm and attentive and the had Portlandia playing on the tv at the bar, so I was a happy camper and left satisfied and ready to shop and stroll.

A quaint and charming french restaurant in Malibu. The servers were all friendly, replenishing our water changing our plates and utensils around, and even putting on romantic (how?) birthday music just discreet enough not to be embarassing but joyful on my occasion... hehe). Definitely knew how to make a girl feel special with a delightful creme brulee at the end. Bibb salad was awesome. If I ate this everyday I'd be satisfied and healthy. It's no wonder the French look so great. The bread had a little kick which was good for me, not great for my date. Olive spread was a little on the salty end. Chicken was good. Would have gotten the moules frite but they ran out of mussels. had the lobster roll as well, and I was that impressed with that to be honest...lobster meat was ample but the consistency and taste just didn't fit well with the bread. It was probably the bibb salad dressing. Their fries were good!

First time at this place and I really liked it, the food and the drink was really good, the service was excellent and atmosphere was very nice, it's so fun to seat by the window on a beautiful day and enjoy good food and drinks, if you in the Beverly center I highly recommended

The service was absolutely on pointe thanks to Kaiya, Teri, and Randy. Warm, polished, attentive, and just the right amount of fun. Hubs and I split everything, which was the right move because this meal was rich, delicious, and very filling. We started with the baguette bread service, which is an additional charge but 100% worth it. The bread, salted butter, and mixed berry spread were pure France in a basket. Next up was the French onion soup, and wow. Cheesy, full of flavor, with a beautiful broth that somehow managed to be rich without being too salty. Perfection. Then came the Big Mec burger, as seen on Food Network's top burgers -- and yes, it absolutely lives up to the hype. Definitely enough for two. Perfectly seasoned patties, melty cheese, a fresh brioche bun, and that bordelaise sauce bath underneath? Flavor-forward, decadent, and unforgettable. We rounded out the meal with a slice of French toast because apparently we make excellent life choices. Also delicious, also worth sharing. This was not just lunch -- it was an experience. Will I go back? Absolument! Next up: dinner.

Got seated on the patio on a beautiful day, so we were perfectly happy. After a quick glance at the menu, our recommendations from our server, we decided to order. We started with the escargot, as one does at a French restaurant, and the French onion soup. The escargot cube bathed in butter, garlic and parsley and were very tasty. I mean, how can they not be when bathed in garlic and butter? The French onion soup was also delicious with ample gruyere cheese overflowing. Pure indulgence! For entrees, we all tried something different. The steak frites were.... steak frites. If you've tried one, you've tried most, so not very memorable. The duck confit was cooked well and not overly fatty, which was nice. The omelette, let me say, is beautiful to look at. You almost don't want to touch it because it is very picrure-esque, and absolutely cooked perfectly. A, dare I say, perfect omelette. Finally was the Big Mec. Now, there are a lot of good burgers in Los Angeles, but the Big Mec is one of the greats. So much flavor with the double wagyu patties, cheese, special sauce all while sitting in a Bordelaise sauce. It isn't something you would eat every day, as it is heavy, but it is phenomenal when you do. I'd say one of the top five burgers in Los Angeles, in my humble opinion. Overall, delicious French restaurant in Hollywood, a little above Hancock Park, serving delicious food. Get the escargot and French onion soup to start, and definitely get the omelette and the Big Mec, you will not be disappointed.

She chose this place for the Instagram worthy atmosphere you see online, but I would say it falls a little short of how picturesque it is. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice garden setup up, but we were expecting a more romantic and whimsical layout. We also noticed that the dress code is very loosely enforced as there were numerous people there with T shirts on. We got there for our reservation about 15 minutes early and was seated quite fast. The hostesses at the front were quite friendly and the wait staff were attentive and mostly nice. One of our servers seemed a little curt at one point, but it wasn't too bad. Once you are seated they ask about your drink order, and offered wines, sparkling water, and literally said "tap water". Pretty surprised that they said tap water, but we went with a glass of wine and sparkling water. The menu is short and it's easy to make your decision. We went with the 24oz Prime Ribeye Steak, Pappardelle pasta, Kingfish Crudo, and the Portuguese Piri Piri Shrimp. The ribeye was served with scalloped potatoes and green beans that were delicious. The ribeye was a perfect medium rare, tender, and served in a very balanced sauce. The Piri Piri Shrimp was also great. Large pieces in a slightly spicy cream sauce; I would describe it as almost a Cajun flavor. These were my favorites of the dishes we ordered on this night. The Kingfish Crudo was a nice choice. I believe it was yellowtail served with small pieces of cherry tomatoes and peach chunks. The sauce was nice and refreshing with a little sweetness. The Pappardelle Pasta was ok, and probably my least favorite dish of the night. It wasn't bad, but wasn't on par with the rest of our meal. The thick pasta noodles were al dente, and the sauce was nice and creamy with pieces of green beans. It got better once we mixed the poached egg into the sauce, but still didn't get it to the point where we would order it again. Since it was my fiancé's birthday, she wanted to get one of their desserts served as a small birthday. She saw pictures of their passion fruit coconut cheesecake on Instagram and wanted that, but they changed it where the passion fruit was at the bottom of the cake. I thought it was decent, but not a great dessert. I thought the staff would at least sing happy birthday like other restaurants, but that didn't happen here. Overall, The Little Door is a small romantic stop to have a date night. I don't know if I would consider it a place to celebrate a special occasion though. I think we would come back, but not for anything big. Also, I would recommend using the valet, it's right in front and they only charge $14 pre tip.

Because Camelia's is one of only like, 3 restaurants on the east side, and pretty much the only one open on Monday (which was the last reasonable day to use this credit - yes, I was panicking, along with apparently 80% of the people who were dining that day). I had made a reservation for a Monday evening for a date night, but my partner had a work emergency, and dang it, the heck if I wasn't going to use this Chase credit! So I figured, no problem. Plan B. I'll just get take out. NEWP. It was Not Allowed (TM). They said the kitchen couldn't accommodate additional take out orders on top of their load that night. I was...a bit perplexed, I guess, because I had made a reservation, so it wasn't...an additional kitchen load? Like, y'all were expecting my party of 2 already? It was..... just putting the food in the box rather than on a plate? Make it make sense. In any case. I planted myself at the bar, made some friends (solo diners who were likewise last minute panicking about making sure to use their Reserve credit), ordered enough food for me and my partner, and as it came out, I just asked them to box it up (yes, I did sneak a couple tastes in). Patrick, who was my server, was fantastic - so kind and understanding. And at the end, Blair the bartender as well as Patrick both helped me make sure my "leftovers" were all there and safely packed for a car ride. Now for the food. Amazing. We got the black sesame rolls with salted butter (SO good), the oyster mushrooms (loved all the flavors on this), the black sesame snap peas (this was nice to get because veggies, but less fun than the others - some of the other dishes just had these lovely complex flavors...this one just sort of had lots of black sesame flavor, which we love, just a bit more straightforward than other stuff). We also got the beef cheek sando that was only available at the bar (delicious and so tender, with a side of picked veggies), the Japanese bolognese (I'm not sure what was Japanese about it, but it was very tasty!), and the seabream.(tender, comes with some sort of mashed something or over that is kind of sweet, and with clams). We might come back in the future for an actual dining experience - the space is cute, and parking isn't horrible. There's valet, but also plenty of parking if you're willing to walk a couple blocks.

Medium chunks of scallops and bits of snail. Has a creamy and tart/sour taste from the lemon they serve. The bread on top was flaky. Would order again. 6 dozen oysters (during happy hour 5-6pm)--I haven't had oysters in a while, but the were the best I had in a while. They come with a yuzu type sauce and a tomato based sauce. Both were good. These next three I'll group them together as good/decent but nothing special. The mousse pate was packed with flavor, wish the bread was crispier. Spaghetti I can make this better. Burger was okay with lots of melted cheese and (I think) carmelized onions between a brioche--wish this had more in it. The worse thing was the broccolini. I'm not sure why this is even on the menu. If not for the pot pie, the food alone would be a solid 3. I bumped it up to 4 because of the pot pie, the delicious (and stiff) drinks, and the overall experience.

And then I came upon this place. A place that served French food, and would allow me to people see as I enjoyed Parisian fare. So the decision was made for I had found both the food I enjoyed, and the ambiance I enjoyed. I whispered where the Farmer's Market of the Grove responded, Monsieur Marcel Bistro, in a french accent that in my mind was just a wee coquette. I was dining solo and I was sat in the bar, perfectly fine with me. The server soon brought water. And the goblet had a paper straw. And I know this sounds super fragile, but I do not like drinking from paper straws cause the paper tastes throws my taste buds off. And it is not like I ask for a plastic straw cause my taste buds come first and the environment second. Nothing like that. I take the straw out and sip using my lips. I know it is barbaric, but I rather be an uncooth dolt then suffer the taste of paper on my tongue I loved the service of this place. It did not have charm, or charisma, but it was attentive, efficient and polite. Like the server brought me a chalkboard labeled plats de jour or plates of the day. I do not know French, but I trust Google translate enough to correctly translate this phrase. I appreciated the touches of gray blue and white throughout. I also appreciated the cursive, it all seem so Parisian-fancy, yet in the daylight. I ordered the whole Dorade, and did not order the Filet Mignon. That was my fatal flaw. My not ordering right. The Dorade is like a white fish, like a Branzino they explained it to me. And it came with a side of burblanc maybe it was a white sauce, creamy and thick. As my pictures show, when I first received the fish it came whole, like skin. I would not dare fileting myself. I know bad things happened when I filet fish by myself. The server took it back and it came as two clean filets. The first mouthfuls were a delight. And as destiny might write it, when the server asked me how I was enjoying the meal I was placing a big forkful in my mouth. And ugh! That is when i discovered the bones of the fish. I continued eating and the bones were many. The bones waiting for me in this great white fish, accompanied with lemon, and a white tick sauce, and nothing-tasting asparagus, had bones. Too many bones for me. In the past, I had almost nearly choked on one. To be clear, this did not happen on this outing, but still I struggled to enjoy the dish because of the bones. I need to remember that white fish served like this has bones. Should it have bones? Is there a way that one can eat this type of fish and enjoy it despite the bones? Like is there a way to use knife and fork to inspect if a mouthful has a fork? If there is I am afraid I never attended the charm school that imparted this skill unto folks. In short, this took down the place to only a 4 star experience. The people watching, the atmosphere the loveliness of its gray blue and accompanying cursive did not overshadow the finding of the bones. In complete contrast, the item that I cannot gush enough about is their chacuterrie board. I have never seen a restaurant offer a cheese board with one cheese. Like I would go back to this place just to have the cheese board and the french blue I had. But what made the board sing was their chutney, house-made so bravo to the house! Like the chutney was both sweet and savory and it was chunky, so that added to the authenthicity of the moment. To draw a shaky parallel, I imagined that chunky peanut butter made in house would taste way better than chunky peanut butter from the jar. When I combined the bread, the chutney, the bleu and a nut, it was a strong showing of flavor and pleasure. It was not until I wrote this that I noticed that plate had no meat. I cannot wait to go again and get the cheese board plate and this time I will make a point of adding some meat.

The owners added to the warmth of the space genuinely welcoming, the kind of presence that makes a place feel personal rather than polished-for show. The sea bass was the standout: perfectly crisped skin, buttery and delicate underneath, resting over earthy lentils that soaked up every bit of flavor. Paired with a smooth Malbec, it all came together effortlessly. But honestly, the best part of the night wasn't just the food or the wine. it was the company. The soft candlelight, a shared table, and her next to me made everything taste better. A spot that feels intimate without trying too hard. Definitely coming back.

The Scallop Ravioli was far too salty, and the burger and fries were heavily over-seasoned to the point that we left most of them unfinished. Especially the fries tasted too salty. We ended up leaving most of the ravioli, burger, and fries because of the salt level. I understand that seasoning is subjective, but the salt level made it difficult to enjoy the meal. On the positive side, the ambiance was lovely, and the servers were friendly and attentive and the complimentary beers were appreciated, but unfortunately the food did not meet our expectations.
