Ok so this place is great. We had a slight issue and to be honest i could see the concern, they wanted us to be happy, that meant a lot. I see the people here working hard to make everyone's experience a good one. It's a casual French/American restaurant, i liked that we could show up in casual clothes and enjoy a nice meal. Accommodated the children so well, split their burger in half (happily) the owner is there observing all things, which was cool. Found out after the fact that he was the owner, watched a couple of his videos on instagram, nice guy. Good people deserve to get praise and i can tell this place is ran by GOOD PEOPLE. Came in here today after waiting for them to open (middle bird to city of Malibu for making it take so long). Family owned and run, this place has great street appeal and is nicely designed. Small sized menu which I love, and ordered the fried chicken sandwich. Bun was great, but the chicken thigh really needed seasoning(I would also put on the menu that it is in fact a thigh). I really hope these guys make it. Looking forward to coming back when they start serving breakfast on the nice upstairs patio. Hopefully their conditional use permit doesn't take 14 years for the city of Malibu to approve it! read more

Amazing food, beautiful and super clean restaurant, family run, what else can you ask for? Had the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich WOW delicious but fries way too salty. Basquaise cheesecake was made with goat cheese which is creative but it had the goat cheese aftertaste. These are just my preferences, still is a 5 star dining experience. Will be going back soon. Anyone in LA has to try this place. The menu doesn't have many French items but it has a few. Would be great if they added more. Service was superb. read more

What a great spot! We first went here on a Malibu mystery tour to pick up a charcuterie lunch. When we arrived to get the food the owner saw that we had 3 kids, asked us to wait a couple of minutes and then came back with a huge box of freshly made french fries that he gave us for free. Really awesome. We went back recently for dinner and the food is great. We had the bread with a couple of different dips, roast chicken, artichoke with peas and chocolate cake. Wine was great and beer selection is good. The owner came over to see how we were and what a great night. read more

A special thank you to Nicolas Fanucci for being an example of what a restaurant owner should be. My wife and I dined in yesterday and actually found this spot because broad street oyster was too busy and we wanted lobster rolls and were very hungry. I called the restaurant and Nicolas answered the phone and I said we will be there in 6 minutes, he was super friendly. We walked in and he greeted us, sat us down and the waitress Nicole (super friendly) came to take our order. As I was observing Nicolas I could tell how hands on he was with everything at his restaurant, from talking with all the customers to helping the employees to answering phone calls and checking people in. We had the lobster roll sandwich and braised shortrib and wowwwww it was the best lobster roll we have ever had! The shortrib was super tender and flavorful. After we were done Nicolas came up to us and we talked for a little, I told him how great the food was and he turned and called his cook and said that's the man who made it. That right there shows me what a great boss he is, Nicolas didn't take the credit for the food but rather gave credit to the cook we actually made it. A true owner shares the spotlight with the employees and now we can't wait to return to try everything else on the menu. A great addition to the neighborhood. With work-from-home the new normal, we've been getting a lot of our lunches here. The burger is great, really flavorful and always cooked to the right temperature. We love the sausage, which is so juicy and flavorful. The lobster roll is also a big favorite. It comes in a soft toasted bun with a generous amount of filling. The salads are all good and the dressings are freshly made and delicious. The fries here are just amazing. Again, generous portions but we always end up fighting for the last one. The one clunker we've had is the lobster mac and cheese. First of all, instead of macaroni it's these weird, thick lumpy ovals of starch. Not very appealing. And the lobster is just a few shreds mixed into the (very yummy) cheese sauce. Not enough of it to give you any lobster flavor. Still, that's the exception to what is otherwise a great menu. The people here are great, friendly and helpful. Strict mask use and social distancing oberved so you feel very safe being there. read more

The chicken family dinners were great during the pandemic but now they serve you single meal to go, over prized, dried choke on unedible tiny piece of 1 chicken wing with a tablespoon of polenta tablespoon fork of overcooked dried old vegetables and a crisp of Parmesan zero seasoning. I swear this was the food that they were going to throw away at the end of the night and they didn't make it fresh. Don't waste your time or money. Major disappointment. read more

Found this charming, welcoming spot this morning. Had the most delicious fresh quiche and coffee in a lovely setting, complete with a perfect peony. We ate inside but there is a pretty back patio. I cant wait to return for lunch and dinner. Service was as wonderful as the food. read more

About a month ago before the crazy Covid-19 scare I was going to have a lunch in Malibu at the pier but it was soooo crowded, soooo busy at parking and expensive to park we aborted that idea drove a little bit East in PCH and ended up at Nicolas Eateryparking was free, service was great, it was quiet and clean. Well we came in hungry and with anticipation after seeing this place on tiktok and fantastic google reviews. Walked in the door and was immediately disappointed as we watched one of the cooks pulling down their mask and eating with their hands while cooking. This is unacceptable regardless of a pandemic. I should have left but we were starving so we stayed. Bread took forever but was delicious. Charcuterie board was ok but expensive. Sea bass lacked flavor and seasoning.
