This was the first time we have been back since before the pandemic. We would order the lobster roll and we really liked it before. Unfortunately this time, the lobster roll was extremely sparse, such that my first full bite was only bread and no lobster. The top was just bread as well. It was as though they had run out and was trying to spread it thin. Additionally, the price of the lobster roll went up significantly. I felt disappointed. However, the service, dessert, and atmosphere remained great. I guess I will no longer order the lobster roll. read more

I'm a local Malibu resident. And have been very lucky to dine at some very nice restaurants. After driving past Nicolas eatery for many occasions we decided to stop in and try the food. The food and service was excellent. Each and every part of our four course meal was fantastic. Beautiful and delicious. The steak, juicy and medium rare was the best steak I've ever had. SO good! Stumbled on this by accident when no where else had parking. They're currently in a food truck out front while the restaurant is under construction, but that's not stopping the food quality from being on HIT. We each got a lobster roll and it's so fresh and delicious. The bread is perfectly toasted and compliments the texture of the lobster. Also got a raspberry jam crepe and it's amazing. Food was delicious and the outdoor dining setup was nice. The seared tuna was a little on the plain side, but everything else was great. Unfortunately there is an incredible amount of traffic noise coming from PCH, so keep that in mind if you choose to dine outside. read more

My husband and I visited today while driving on PCH and we placed a takeout order before arriving. Customer service was great from the moment I placed the order on the phone to the moment we walked out with our food. I got the lobster roll and he got the fried chicken sandwich. OMG. Both were sooooo delicious we're still talking about it and wishing we had more for dinner. The sauce in the chicken sandwich was so good I can't even explain it. I love that they used a brioche bun. And the lobster roll had just the right amount of flavors to balance out the crispiness of the bun with the creaminess of the lobster. I like that it came with asparagus as I'm a huge fan. The fries were fresh and cooked to perfection. Super crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. We didn't even get a chance to take a picture of our food because we literally devoured it the moment we got back in our car. Definitely recommend this spot. Delicious food with great service. Not to mention the interior was so inviting. We will definitely be going back and hopefully eat in the restaurant once everything goes back to normal. read more

Had dinner there last Saturday night with a friend. The Avocado Malibu was quite good but the Steak Frittes we both had were inedible. The food was served cold and I couldn't cut my steak and my friend couldn't chew hers. She got another one that was easier to eat but I opted for a hamburger. The wait staff was very pleasant and accommodating and the hamburger was delicious and my friend's steak was properly cooked. Don't think we'd go back. read more

Hidden gem in Malibu ! We went for Sunday brunch and the food and service was excellent . Lots of gluten free options ( including bread) and even gluten free dessert and the coffee was excellent which is important for brunch . I will be coming back to try dinner. Our server was Alyssa and she was very attentive n kind. Hidden Gem! Food was amazing! Four of us an all of us were satisfied with the amount of the food and how good everything was. I had the Tuna steak and it was the freshest and the most delicious tuna I had. We had salmon and a burger as well an everything was cooked and flavored well! Their royal burger is bomb the meat melts in your mouth. But the tuna sandwich I'm sure it would of been amazing but they messed it up putting the wasabi way way to much so I Had to throw it away. Dinner here was the best dining experience I've had all year. The location is beautiful and the patio heaters make dining outside comfortable. The servers were very knowledgeable about the wines and the food. The food was incredible and very fairly priced. Getting to chat with the owner made the experience even better.
