I ordered the khao soi and the noods. I didn't enjoy the khao soi as much, though I haven't had many versions of it, so that may just come down to personal preference. The noods were much better, with great BBQ pork and a really tasty OMG sauce. I did have to ask for extra sauce on the side since the bowl is very noodle-heavy and doesn't have any soup. I also felt like the dish could've been more balanced with more vegetables instead of mostly meat and noodles with a few garnishes. My friends ordered the pho with rare steak and the pho with braised beef, and they thought the broth was a bit on the saltier side, but overall still good. The restaurant was busy with about a 30-minute wait, which wasn't too bad, but the tables were very close together and felt cramped. The staff was helpful and attentive, which definitely improved the experience. My main reasons for the 3 star rating were the tight space and the khao soi, but everything else was solid. read more

Very good Pho, especially in a cold day. That is exactly what we were craving when arriving at Mammoth Lakes. Staff was super friendly and the place was super busy. That is definetly a good sign. I've had the regular vegan Pho and it was very good. My husband had the Khai Soi and he said it was super flavorful. Disappointing Pho Experience Despite Good Service We are from Southern California and were excited to find a noodle restaurant in Mammoth Lakes. The restaurant itself is cozy and interesting, with unique décor and items displayed throughout the space that appeared to be for sale. The service was prompt and friendly, and we appreciated that. Unfortunately, the food was a major disappointment. We ordered six bowls of pho along with several appetizers, including steamed dumplings. The pho broth was extremely salty--so salty that we could barely taste the traditional pho seasonings. When we brought this to our server's attention, we were told that we were the only customers who had complained. Regardless of other diners' preferences, the broth was simply too salty for our group. Since the pho was not inexpensive, we ended up eating the noodles and meat and leaving most of the broth behind. The steamed dumplings were also underwhelming and did not live up to expectations. More concerning, one member of our group of nine bit into what appeared to be a small piece of glass-like plastic in the food. That was particularly alarming and turned what was already a disappointing meal into a food-safety concern. To the restaurant's credit, the owner, Taylor, personally apologized very sincerely and emphatically. The restaurant eventually comped the bowl in which the foreign object was found and removed 20% from our total bill. We appreciated Taylor's willingness to take responsibility and address the situation. The prices are on the high side, although perhaps that is to be expected in a ski-resort destination. We were really hoping to find a good bowl of pho while visiting Mammoth, but unfortunately, this was not the experience we had hoped for. read more

Honestly I had low expectations for pho in the mountains, but this place proved me wrong! Their pho was authentic and flavorful, just very slightly on the salty side. Brisket was nice and tender, also a nice portion for the regular size bowl. We came at off hour around 4PM and got seated immediately, and the order came out so quick! Pretty casual place, nice to come have a warm bowl of pho after a cold mountain hike or skiing. It is on the pricey side for pho at $18-$20 a bowl, but for being in Mammoth it makes sense. After a long day on the mountain having some pho just feels right. Now if you are coming on a weekend there is a high possibility you will need to wait an hour or so to get seated and if you are coming closer to closing time there might not have the availability of the full menu. The service is friendly and once you place your order it comes out in less than 10 mins. The chicken noodles soup was hearty with plenty of chicken but the broth was light and flavorful adding some Thai basil and jalapeños adds some nice freshness to the pho. read more

Definitely a must! Every mammoth trip I've taken has this on the list of places to eat. The soup have deep delicious flavors which is enhanced if you are eating it after a long tiring day. Most of the options have a noodle base (different types of noodles are available) and then your choice of protein. The kid's bowl options are limited as well and you can "add-on" whatever additional ingredients you want. (Pictured) is a kids rice noodle pho with tofu, which is exactly what my daughter wanted :) Now, the reason I am giving this rating is purely due to the service. One lady was so nice, while the other was not helpful at all- to a point where she got defensive when I asked for clarification. We visited on a recent ski trip to Mammoth. The place is in the marketplace by the Vons grocery store. They were almost full at 1:30 PM. I had the Khao Soi which I enjoyed. My wife got The Noods and my daughter got the Pho, but she liked my wife's dish more and ended up sharing that. We took the pho home to eat for dinner.
